With Chris Jericho retaining his championship at No Way Out, it became official that he would be defending against Triple H at WrestleMania. The two went back and forth with promos week after week until Shawn Michaels arrived on the scene and helped Triple H score a win in a non-title match. Michaels would proceed to say that he is owed a championship opportunity and Jonathan Coachman agrees to this and schedules a triple threat match at WrestleMania. Both Jericho and Triple H are absolutely livid.

Ric Flair continued his career week after week until being assaulted by former stablemate Randy Orton. Orton would say that although he is known as The Viper, it is time to kill one more legend and that at WrestleMania, The Legend Killer returns to end Ric Flair's career!

The fourth annual Money in the Bank ladder match is announced that will feature 3 Raw superstars, 3 Smackdown superstars and 2 ECW superstars. Mr. Kennedy, Carlito and Jeff Hardy would be Raw's qualifiers for the match.

Meanwhile, William Regal introduced Layla as his new valet and the two would claim that they are the new power couple in the WWE. Charlie Haas would make it clear that he wants a shot at the Intercontinental title and challenges Regal to a submission match for the title at WrestleMania which Regal accepted. A match was also made official between Layla and Beth Phoenix for the Women's title at WrestleMania.

SMACKDOWN
Edge and La Familia made Batista's life a living hell in the run up to WrestleMania, beating him down and screwing with him. Bam Neely made his debut as Chavo Guerrero's bodyguard and helped the team to beat Batista in every battle. At the contract signing, Batista managed to fight them all off and put Vickie Guerrero through the table with a Batista Bomb after Edge fled the ring. Vickie would be absent for several weeks but upon returning before WrestleMania, she said that Edge left her alone and that at WrestleMania, the World Heavyweight title match would be a Street Fight!

Meanwhile, John Morrison and The Miz continued flaunting their tag team title reign until a four team match was scheduled for WrestleMania also featuring Deuce and Domino, Jesse and Festus and Rey Mysterio and Rob Van Dam! Morrison and The Miz were absolutely livid and say that it is unfair.

MVP, Matt Hardy and Kane were Smackdown's qualifiers for the Money in the Bank ladder match.

Meanwhile, The Undertaker demanded to know who attacked him at the Elimination Chamber and that whoever it is will Rest in Peace! The words "Your Streak is...NEXT!" flash across the titantron before cutting to...GOLDBERG exiting his locker room as the crowd roars. Undertaker played mind games with Goldberg for weeks but Goldberg didn't fall for them and promised to end The Undertaker's WrestleMania streak.

ECW
ECW Champion Shelton Benjamin talked about how he had no more challengers left in ECW and was going to take WrestleMania off only to be confronted by Kenny Dykstra from Smackdown who said that he wants to prove to the world how he is the next big thing in wrestling and challenged him to a match at WrestleMania which was accepted.

CM Punk and Elijah Burke were ECW's qualifiers for the Money in the Bank ladder match.

Tommy Dreamer was pissed that Colin Delaney beat him so quickly at No Way Out and challenged him to a rematch in an Extreme Rules match. Delaney accepted and was getting his ass handed to him when...MONTY BROWN made his return to the WWE and beat Dreamer into a bloody pulp. Delaney introduced Brown as his new insurance policy and said that he will be ECW Champion.
