OVW Presents New Beginnings
Live from the Jefferson Davis Arena 01/16/99
Main Event IWGP Tag Team Titles: Tencozy (Tenzan & Kojima) (c) vs The Headbangers
Shane McMahon made a special appearance on OVW television to say that they are proud to announce that Tencozy are coming to America to defend their recently won IWGP tag team titles. The Headbangers were training in OVW, so were in the area and were offered and accepted a place in this historic IWGP tag title match in America.
OVW Heavyweight Title: Doug Basham (c) vs Bart Gunn
Basham called out Bart Gunn as a wrestler who has passed his peak and someone who should stand aside for wrestlers like him, who actually have a future. Bart did not take to kindly to being spoken to by the OVW champion in this fashion and challenged him to put his title where his mouth is. Basham laughed off the challenge but was forced to defend against him eventually anyway, when Bart Gunn won a no 1 contenders match against Nick Dinsmore.
'The God of Metal' Van Hammer vs Nick Dinsmore
A WWF newcomer with a gigantic ego and delusions of heavy metal godhood believes that nobody can beat him. After going on a run of victories, albeit tainted ones, he may have a point. Nick Dinsmore is a man who plans on shutting his mouth however but Van Hammer is not afraid, saying that he couldn't even beat a washed up fake cowboy, so how could Dinsmore hope to beat an actual living metal god?
OVW Tag Team Titles: America's Legacy (Tiger Ali Singh/Silver King) (c) vs Public Enemy
A group calling themselves 'America's legacy' recently debuted on OVW. Through their spokesperson and leader Tiger Ali Singh, they claim that America has long fostered an attitude of hatred and fear for anyone even slightly different to their fat bigoted selves. They claim that this has led to many fine men and women having lives they deserved denied them, because they do not fit into what american society sees as being the right kind of person. This has to stop, Tiger claims, this disgusting flame of hatred must be put out and can no longer be allowed to flame on and burn alive the hopes and dreams of good people. THIS is America's legacy, Tiger yells and whatever needs to be done to right these wrongs, is America's consequence.
Public Enemy aren't necessarily known for their patriotism but they don't particularly care for a team of loudmouths that think they are better than everyone, including the public enemy themselves! They have made it their business to stop America's legacy from gaining any foothold in OVW but were unable to prevent them from cheating to beat the Haas Brothers to win the OVW tag team titles. Stepping up now to challenge them themselves, can Public Enemy take the tag titles off them? Or will their anti-american crusade continue?
OVW X Division Title: Aguila (c) vs Blitzkreig vs Shane Helms
Aguila has never been afraid to put his recently won OVW X title on the line against all comers. The cocky but talented Shane Helms and the lightning quick Blitzkreig were the latest to step up and when a contenders match ended in a double countout, Aguila said he'd face both of them!
American University (Shelton Benjamin & The Hass Brothers) vs Too Hot Enterprises (Scott Taylor, Brian Lawler & Elix Skipper) w/Bull Buchanan
Too Hot Enterprises are a group of young high flyers that have always found wrestling to be easy and seek to use their obvious gifts to make themselves rich. So far it has worked and they've even splashed the cash and hired themselves a bodyguard by the name of Bull Buchanan.
On the opposite side are 3 men who, while also being incredibly talented themselves, care about their education and care about taking the time to train and become better wrestlers. They also care about the history of the sport and want to rise to the top the right way and achieve success in a way that one can be proud of. They are the Haas brothers and their fellow classmate Shelton Benjamin and together they aim to beat some respect into Too Hot Enterprises and then go on and take back their OVW tag team titles.
Devon Storm & Daffney vs Ron Waterman & Jacqueline
No nonsense Ron Waterman has found a like minded soul in the rough and tough Jacqueline but both of them have been harassed recently by the oddball pairing of Devon Storm and Daffney. Nobody yet knows what they they are up to, or what their plan is but Waterman and Jacqueline do not plan to wait to find out and have challenged them to a mixed tag team match.
Sable vs Ivory
Highly resentful of being in OVW, Sable has been a pain to deal with recently and it all boiled over when Ivory told her exactly what she thought of Sable's whining. Sable attacked her and the injury put back Ivory's main roster debut. Danny Davis booked this match, so they could sort it out once and for all in the ring.
This is the same universe as my Stable Wars II diary. It features all the talent I have in development and there will be the odd surprise or two as in how you'd see wrestlers like Jushin Liger in NXT.
Also, as you can probably guess by the section of the board this diary is in, it's completely gameless. It will likely give you hints as to who might become players as my 99 game diary progresses into the 00's though.
Results wise it'll be fairly basic but I'll try to give a little information as to what I see as going on in the previews.
