It's nice to look back and see that I have already rebooked 20 years worth of PPVs!
I am not 100% happy with a few things I have planned and I'll have to change some, so I'll probably post Backlash 2005 in 7/10 days time

WWE Backlash 01.05.2005 Manchester, NH
1. Christian (w/ Tyson Tomko and Trish Stratus) def. Chris Jericho (16 mins) Trish is now completely unsatisfied of Christian and insults him saying he's no Jericho, making Y2J involved with the duo again even if he refuses Trish's offer to come back with him. They have a tight opener and Christian pulls out the decisive win, something he never did with Y2J, with the unprettier when Jericho hits the unexposed turnbuckle. Trish congratulates Christian, but he hits her with the unprettier too (Trish is written out of TV here)
2. WWE World Tag Titles: Super Heroes In Training (w/ Super Stacy) def. William Regal & Tajiri (c) (w/ Christy Hemme) (8 mins) The SHIT team gets a new henchwoman in Super Stacy and now the duo is all ready to win the belts. There's not too many alternatives, unfortunately... it's a face vs. face match, with okay wrestling and some comedy. Rosey finally steps up and pins Tajiri after a splash from the top, winning the belts for the first time 3. WWE Hardcore Title: Kane (c) def. Gene Snitsky (7 mins) Eric Bischoff is worried with Kane as hardcore champion, as the crazy freak can push the limit anytime now that he has weapons in every match. His old rival Snitsky wants revenge and Bischoff is hesitant, but then books the match. Kane seems out of control and wins with the a chokeslam on two chairs
4. WWE IC Title: Shelton Benjamin (c) def. Maven (10 mins) Another match that I am stuck with as the roster isn't great here. They had a ridiculous farse at NYR 2005, Maven is not great but 2005 Benjamin is gold and he could have gotten a decent match out of his opponent. Maven is now heel and tired of being the blue chipper that never makes it, Benjamin wins with the t-bone suplex
5. Last Man Standing Match: Edge (w/ Lita) def. Chris Benoit (18 mins) So, let's address the rumors and put Lita with Edge straight after 'Mania, as it gives him a lot of heat. This is the blowoff of his feud with Benoit, they had a great match here and so I am keeping it. They have been feuding for lots of months and this is the end, the match needs to be important and go for long. Edge hits Benoit in the head with a brick and is the last man standing
6. Shawn Michaels & Hulk Hogan def. Muhammad Hassan & Daivari (13 mins) This was fine, as a match it had his moments because Michaels is a great babyface in perils and the crowd loved Hogan. I don't see why remove it from the card, as it worked quite well and also helped building the inevitable dream match. As predictable, Hassan gets a lot of offense and heat on Michaels, but then Hogan gets the hot tag and drops the leg on Daivari to pin him
7. WWE World Title: Batista (c) def. Triple H (w/ Ric Flair) (14 mins) HHH gets his rematch straight away, as another job is a good legitimacy to Batista. I liked the angle of the match built around Batista's fear for the pedigree, it gave the feud a nice twist and the match was alright so I am keeping it. This time Batista bleeds, not HHH, but he retains the title after kicking out of the pedigree and hitting the batista bomb on his former mentor

WWE Judgment Day 22.05.2005 Minneapolis, MI
1. WWE Cruiserweight Title: Paul London def. Chavo Guerrero (c) (13 mins) London's time has come, after the time spent tagging with Billy Kidman he was ready to step up and be the leader of the division, while Chavo here is quite useful as he's a good hand and still has some heat. London goes over with the 450 splash and wins the title
2. Billy Kidman (w/ Torrie Wilson) def. Akio (10 mins) Speaking of Kidman, his business with London is not over and, especially after watching his enemy winning the title, he's determined to challenge him for it. Akio is a gentleman with Torrie, but Kidman keeps mistreating her. Kidman wins with a low blow and the shooting star press
3. WWE World Tag Titles: MNM (w/ Melina) def. Charlie Haas & Hardcore Holly (c) (w/ Jackie Gayda) (8 mins) MNM was a good tag team and I will definitely push them, but as the division is so bad I actually need to put the belts on them straight away. Haas and Holly work well as interim champions, but MNM knows how to cheat and hit the snapshot on Holly to shockingly win the straps
4. Booker T (w/ Sharmell) def. The Big Show (9 mins) Booker T's wife Sharmell debuts in his corner and puts more efforts on his heel character, declaring that her husband is the baddest. Show takes exception to this, but Booker keeps avoiding a confrontation until Teddy Long books this match. Show dominates, but doesn't hit Sharmell and Booker wins with a dirty roll up
5. WWE US Title: Rey Mysterio (c) def. Carlito (12 mins) This can be a nice little match, as they are both second generation stars with a totally different character and two styles that should mix quite well. Carlito looks strong here, but he's leaving the brand soon and so he can do the job for Mysterio, after the usual 619/west coast pop combination
6. #1 Contender: Kurt Angle def. Eddie Guerrero (18 mins) Both Eddie and Angle want a title shot, it's a heel vs. heel match even though Eddie plays the face here because Mysterio approached him after 'Mania trying to help him with the WWE Title obsession. It's a competitive match and Angle wins with the angle match. Postmatch, Mysterio comforts Eddie but Eddie turns on him
7. WWE Title No Holds Barred Match: John Cena (c) def. JBL (20 mins) This was a really good main event and so I don't mind keeping it on the original card, only changing the stipulation. Once again, JBL looks down to the champion and wants all the privileges, but he's scared of the furious Cena and his hunger. Cena wins with an FU on the top of JBL's limo, smashing it and pinning him to retain

ECW One Night Stand 12.06.2005 New York, NY
1. Rey Mysterio def. Psicosis (8 mins) 2. Three Way Dance: Super Crazy def. Tajiri and Little Guido (7 mins) 3. Chris Jericho def. Lance Storm (7 mins) 4. Masato Tanaka def. Mike Awesome (10 mins) 5. Chris Benoit def. Eddie Guerrero (12 mins) 6. Cactus Jack def. Sabu (9 mins) 7. The Dudley Boyz (w/ Spike Dudley) def. Tommy Dreamer & The Sandman (w/ Beulah) (11 mins)
The easiest and quickest piece of rebooking I'll ever do, as this PPV was its own parallel universe with a lot of nostalgia, a fun show and a good build-up. I'd keep all matches as they were, except Rhyno vs. Sabu. No disrespect to Rhyno, but Mick Foley was on the show and him versus Sabu would have been been better

Draft lottery 2005 - partial
Raw John Cena (WWE champion) Kurt Angle Carlito
Smackdown Chris Benoit Randy Orton Muhammad Hassan (w/ Daivari)
WWE Smackdown 16.06.2005WWE US Title: Chris Benoit def. Rey Mysterio (c)
WWE Vengeance 26.06.2005 Las Vegas, NV
1. WWE IC Title: Carlito def. Shelton Benjamin (c) (12 mins) Once again, Carlito wins the secondary title as soon as he debuts on a WWE roster, a tradition that I want to keep as he looked quite promising at the time while Benjamin needed a shakeup. Their matches were okay, nothing special from what I can remember. Carlito uses a dirty roll up and wins the belt
2. WWE Tag Titles: Super Heroes In Training (c) (w/ Super Stacy) def. La Resistance (6 mins) Easy way to get the champions cheered, as La Resistance has always been a heel duo for the whole run they had. Some comedy can help the match, as it surely won't be one of the best examples of tag team wrestling. Hurricane pins Grenierc after the chokeslam and so the champions retain the titles
3. Edge (w/ Lita) def. Val Venis (7 mins) So, by this time everybody knows about Edge, Lita and Matt Hardy... Hardy is still not in the WWE, but Venis is and he happens to be Edge's ex-brother in love, who's trying to get revenge for his family's honour as not even him, in his pornstar career, has met a wh*** like Lita. Edge wins with the spear
4. Shawn Michaels def. Kurt Angle (24 mins) Vengeance was a good time to have the rematch between this two, even though they will also soon be busy with other feuds and this can be brought up when needed. This wasn't as exceptional as their first match, but still excellent and I need to keep it. HBK wins with the superkick and avenges the loss from 'Mania
5. WWE Hardcore Title: Kane (c) draws The Big Show (7 mins) Kane keeps being dangerous and crazier than ever thanks to the hardcore division, so Bischoff books him against Show asking the giant to calm Kane down. However, Show loses his control as well and the two have a furious battle in the ring, using every weapon they can and ending up in a double DQ
6. WWE Title: John Cena (c) def. Christian (w/ Tyson Tomko) and Chris Jericho (15 mins) I liked this, as it was a good way for Cena to debut on Raw and also a good match. Christian and Jericho are not friends, but here they ally against the unworthy Cena, who seems unstoppable. As in reality, Cena catches Christian with the FU and pins him to retain the WWE Title
7. WWE World Title Hell In A Cell Match: Batista (c) def. Triple H (w/ Ric Flair) (22 mins) I am also doing the same main event, in the HIAC as it happened, because it worked really well and Batista got really over after this feud. HHH, after trying everything in this feud, can finally use the sledgehammer but Batista breaks it in half and hits HHH with the batista bomb to keep the title

Draft lottery 2005 - complete
Raw John Cena Kurt Angle Carlito Big Show Rob Van Dam Mark Jindrak Rene Dupree Danny Basham Kenzo Suzuki Chavo Guerrero
Smackdown Chris Benoit Randy Orton Muhammad Hassan (w/ Daivari) Christian Batista - World Heavyweight Champion William Regal Candice Michelle Sylvain Grenier Simon Dean Stevie Richards
WWE Raw 11.07.2005WWE Hardcore Title: Rob Conway (c) def. Stevie Richards (decision match) (Eric Bischoff vacates the Hardcore Title on Raw 27.06.2005 and suspends both Big Show and Kane for being too dangerous)
WWE The Great American Bash 24.07.2005
Buffalo, NY
1. WWE US Title Elimination Match: Chris Benoit (c) def. William Regal (16 mins) It's a babyface vs babyface match, a bout that would probably be outstanding given their other matches and their chemistry. They get plenty of time and a fresh crowd, so they can do whatever they please here. Regal manages to block the crossface for the whole match, but he's pinned after a bridge german suplex
2. Juventud, Psicosis & Super Crazy def. Brian Kendrick, Frankie Kazarian & Scotty 2 Hotty (7 mins) The Mexicools were a nice stable and I am okay with them debuting here as a unit to shake things up. Don't need a mini bWo reunion, as a cruiserweight division match would be way more appealing and solid in the ring. Juvi is the leader and pins Kazarian with the juvi driver to win the match
3. #1 Contender: Christian def. Booker T (w/ Sharmell) (10 mins) Unlike the opener, this is a heel vs heel match made by Teddy Long once both Booker and the arriving Christian started arguing and demand title matches, so Long makes them fight for a shot at the US Title. They had a decent chemistry, even though a heel match would be a bit weird. Christian goes over with a dirty roll up
4. WWE Tag Titles: MNM (c) (w/ Melina) def. Eddie Guerrero & Rey Mysterio (14 mins) Eddie has been quite consisting in his heel run, hating everyone except Mysterio due to their long friendship, but things have changed recently. Rey Rey convinces him to tag with him as a way to get Eddie back on track, but Eddie evilly and refuses to tag a needy Mysterio. MNM retains the titles with the snapshot and Eddie just walks away
5. WWE Cruiserweight Title: Paul London (c) def. Billy Kidman (13 mins) The blowoff is finally here, with London showing up as champion against his former partner and mentor. Kidman has been jealous and snappy with London, so they have a rough match even though of course the focus is on London's spectacular comebacks. London steals the shooting star press and debuts the move to retain
6. WWE World Title: JBL def. Batista (c) by DQ (15 mins) Not a dream match by any means, but a passable Smackdown debut feud for Batista after his great Raw run. JBL is by far more experienced and keeps cheating without getting disqualified, which infuriates The Animal. Batista finally comes back, but loses his patience and repeatedly uses a chair for the DQ
7. Casket Match: The Undertaker def. Muhammad Hassan (w/ Daivari) (10 mins) Hassan has to go due to what happened in real life, whether I agree with this or not. A good way to write him out would have been a casket match, as it fits Undertaker and can be used to write him off TV. He had enough heat to make this an interesting match. Taker tombstones both Hassan and Daivari and locks both of them in the casket to win

WWE Summer Slam 21.08.2005 Washington, DC
1. WWE US Title: Chris Benoit (c) def. Christian (13 mins) Now, on what planet is Orlando Jordan better or a bigger draw than Christian?! The challenger's run has almost come to an end, but him and Benoit never wrestled on PPV and there is no reason why they couldn't have a great opener here. Christian fights hard, but Benoit submits him to the crossface
2. Edge (w/ Lita) draws Matt Hardy by double ko (5 mins) As it actually happened, Hardy comes back to get revenge on Edge and Lita. The card is so loaded though that I am okay with this being just a preview to the blowoff, but the real finish was a bit of a let down. They should do the Raw street fight finish here, with both of them unconscious after a crazy dive
3. Dog Collar Match: Rey Mysterio def. Eddie Guerrero (15 mins) I can't do the ladder match as there is nothing to put on top, but a stipulation can make this better and I think a dog collar match would be great. Eddie can be a great underdog, but also a great bully when bigger than his opponent. Rey Rey hits a hurricanrana into a table and pins Eddie, getting revenge for the betrayal
4. Kurt Angle def. Shelton Benjamin (12 mins) Again, why on earth is Eugene in a big four instead of Angle vs. Benjamin? Can't call it a dream match, but it would be great. HBK would compliment Benjamin after a Raw match, getting Angle to be jealous about it. Benjamin goes really close to winning here, but then submits to the ankle lock
5. Randy Orton def. The Undertaker (14 mins) Orton is back from the injury after being drafted to Smackdown and wants Taker, who initially refuses to give him a rematch but then has to after Orton spoils his chance to get a title shot. Orton fights with honour like at 'Mania, but then decides to cheat to avoid the tombstone and wins with the RKO
6. WWE Title vs. Career: John Cena (c) def. Chris Jericho (15 mins) This was a good match, but it would put Jericho's career on the line here to give it a bit more drama. They don't like each other to say the least and the feud quickly degenerates due to Jericho's jealousy due to Cena's success, after beating him in 2002 as a rookie. Cena wins clean with the FU and Jericho has to say goodbye
7. WWE World Title No Holds Barred Match: Batista (c) def. JBL (10 mins) This was okay and served its purpose, as Batista was also the hometown hero and really over here. JBL keeps provoking Batista to get him vulnerable like at GAB, which helped JBL getting the best of him. Finally Batista has a good comeback and wins, I liked the spinbuster on the steel steps as a finish too
8. Shawn Michaels def. Hulk Hogan (20 mins) Some people loved it, some people hated it... but this had so much coverage and sold so well that I need to keep it. I actually loved the build to the match and wouldn't change much except for the finish, as HBK needs to win this one after losing too many bitch matches recently. HBK goes over with a roll up and then they shake hands

I don’t use Jordan or Eugene for their respective matches in my timeline either. Bit surprised you kept Hogan/Michaels though. Still, enjoying this so far.

WWE Unforgiven 18.09.2005 Oklahoma City, OK
1. WWE IC Title: Carlito (c) def. Ric Flair (w/ Torrie Wilson) (12 mins) Flair is enjoying his post Evolution freedom and is now a babyface, going around with Torrie and getting involved in some comedy as well. Carlito has no respect for him and spits an apple on Flair. At the PPV, Carlito screws Flair with a dirty roll up and retains the title
2. WWE Hardcore Title: Rob Conway (c) def. Tajiri (7 mins) Most of the ECW guys are gone and it's not the best time for the division, that's for sure, but it's also a chance for the division to evolve from a "spot" based to a "brawl" based as the best hardcore guys are pretty much gone or busy. Tajiri is tough to defeat, but Conway uses the canadian flag and then pins him
3. Shelton Benjamin def. Chavo Guerrero (9 mins) Kerwin White was silly (especially with Eddie passing the same year), but the match wasn't as they had decent chemistry. Both are trying to get back to some gold after struggling for months and Chavo is jealous of Benjamin's as an athlete. Benjamin hits the t-bone suplex and wins
4. Steel Cage Match: Matt Hardy def. Edge (w/ Lita) (20 mins) This was perfect, just perfect. I wish I could have booked this feud for 6 months, but Hardy is going to Smackdown and I can't. The story was great, the match was great and the overbooking was on point thanks to a super hot crowd. Hardy drops the leg from the top of the cage and wins after a war
5. WWE Tag Titles: The Rednecks (w/ Mickie James) def. Super Heroes In Training (c) (w/ Super Stacy) (8 mins) The Rednecks are Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch, the cowboys are accompanied by the cowgirl Mickie James, it should be a decent pairing. The match was okay, nothing special, but it would hopefully get some heat with Mickie kicking Stacy while Cade slams Hurricane and pins him to win the titles
6. Shawn Michaels def. Chris Masters (15 mins) This was really good as well and Masters' best match by a mile or two. The storyline of Masters wanting the spotlight was okay, while HBK wants a shot and is mad of his rival Kurt Angle getting one. I also liked Michaels getting out of the masterlock without breaking it, then winning with the usual sweet chin music
7. WWE Title: John Cena (c) def. Kurt Angle (18 mins) I am also keeping the main event, it was a good match as usual between these two. Angle is getting obsessed with getting the belt and in his wrestling machine phase, while Cena still keeps an edgy side without becoming the white meat babyface. Feud must continue, but I hate the DQ so Cena barely retains with a lucky inside cradle

You don't HAVE to follow the timeline exactly. I get following canon in any way you can, but as long as he's still with the company...
Also, putting Mickie here with Cade and Murdoch is a choice.
