Post Survivor Series 1988 - The first Royal Rumble is announced (no Rumble in 1988) and it is also decided that the winner will have a WWF Title shot at WrestleMania V. Entries take place every 90 seconds and 30 men will compete - Ted DiBiase mysteriously manages to get number #30 for the Rumble - Hogan and Savage are mad at each other for what has been happening recently and there is a lot of simmering tension between Mega Powers - There is also a lot of heat between Demolition and Powers of Pain. POP get suspended from the WWF for excessive rules infringement
WWF Royal Rumble 15.01.1989 Houston, TX
1. WWF IC Title: Rick Rude (c) (w/ Sherri) def. Rick Martel (w/ Tito Santana) (16 mins) Martel is finally back and Santana wants to get back to tag competition, however Martel goes on a singles winning streak and earns a title shot at Rude, clearly doing it for himself but saying that he wants to avenge Santana's lost at SummerSlam. Santana insists to be in Martel's corner, but Rude picks up the victory 2. WWF Tag Titles: Demolition (c) def. The Brain Busters (w/ Bobby Heenan) (12 min) Brain Busters get a title shot after Power of Pain's suspension, plus Fuji gives them advises on how to beat Demolition. Demolition once again works babyface here, leaving the control of the match to the Busters and then coming back later in the match to get another victory despite Fuji's plans
3. WWF World Title Lumberjack Match: Randy Savage (c) (w/ Elizabeth) def. Andre the Giant (11 mins) While DiBiase is in the Rumble, Andre's job is to injury Savage so DiBiase can have an easier time with Macho Man. Savage is not scared of Andre and, after the double elimination at the Series, he knows that his elbow has a small chance of beating the giant. Savage barely gets a 3 count after he drops the elbow and then deciding not to celebrate with Liz as usual 4. Royal Rumble: Hulk Hogan wins by last eliminating Ted DiBiase (53 mins) Other participants, in no order: Jim Powers, Barry Horowitz, Brooklyn Brawler, Owen Hart, Bret Hart, Jim Neidhart, Haku, Harley Race, Ultimate Warrior, Jim Duggan, Big Bossman, Mr. Perfect, Ron Garvin, Greg Valentine, Jake Roberts, Shawn Michaels, Honkytonk Man, Tito Santana, Bad News Brown, Marty Jannetty, Koko B. Ware, Warlord, Akeem, Brutus Beefcake, Terry Taylor, Barbarian, Big John Studd and Hercules. Warrior eliminates himself when he chases HTM. DiBiase and Bossman are getting advantage on Hogan, but Hulkster manages to eliminate both of them to win the match and the title shot

WWF WrestleMania V 02.04.1989 Atlantic City, NJ
1. The Hart Foundation (w/ Jimmy Hart) def. The Rockers (16 mins) These two teams meet again, it would be a solid rivalry but I am especially setting the foundation for the Bret vs. Shawn saga. The story is that Rockers are underdogs and they come up short most times, here they go really close but Bret pins HBK holding the ropes
2. The Big Bossman (w/ Slick) def. Jim Duggan (6 mins)
Bossman keeps on having a decent push and here I am building him as a next title contender. In this feud Bossman will "confiscate" Duggan's 4x4 before the PPV. Duggan manages to regain the weapon here, but Bossman uses the distraction to pin him
3. The Brainbusters (w/ Bobby Heenan) def. Strike Force (11 mins) Strike Force is back together, but Santana and Martel's chemistry seems to have disappeared a bit as they are not seeing eye to eye anymore. Santana still looks out for Martel and disapproves his heelish tactics, but The Busters pin Santana for the victory here
4. Mr. Perfect def. Greg Valentine (12 mins) Valentine has turned babyface for the first time in the WWF as he can't stand Perfect's cockiness. Perfect is still undefeated and would get a bit concerned here with Valentine trying to ruin his perfect hair. Perfect win the match in a non 100% clean, but convincing way
5. The Ultimate Warrior def. Andre the Giant (w/ Bobby Heenan) by countout (3 mins) This is a good attraction but needs to be booked carefully, as I don't want Andre to lose often and by 1989 his best days were way past him. Andre, with no opponent for 'Mania, would get jealous of Warriors' streak and try to beat him to prove a point. Warrior manages to get the best of Andre performing his splash outside the ring and coming back before the countout
6. Million Dollar Title: Ted DiBiase (c) (w/ Virgil) def. Brutus Beefcake (8 mins) DiBiase is pissed about not being the WWF champions and so he decides to introduce the Million Dollar Title, his own championship that sometimes he puts on the line against whoever he wants. Beefcake would step up, but DiBiase is the winner
7. WWF IC Title: Jake Roberts def. Rick Rude (c) (w/ Sherri) (15 mins) Rude is a dominant champion but has a great opponent in Roberts, who finds out that the rough and confident Rude is actually terrified of snakes, to the point of hiding behind Sherri when the snake comes out. Roberts hits the DDT and win the IC Title, in what would have been a cool moment
8. WWF Tag Titles: Demolition (c) def. Powes of Pain (w/ Mr. Fuji) (10 mins) These two teams finally have the blowoff, with the titles on the line. A cool contrast, as most of division wrestles in a total different style compared to Demolition and POP. It's Demolition's night, as they manage to finally knock out Fuji and also retain the titles.
9. WWF Title: Hulk Hogan def. Randy Savage (c) (17 mins) The Mega Powers explode, in a storyline that is pretty much the same of the one that actually happened at the time. Elizabeth watches the match from a neutral corner as, while she loves Savage, she is afraid of him since the turn heel and respects Hogan as well. Hogan and Savage actually had an enjoyable bout at 'Mania V and Hogan drops the leg to win the WWF Title

Post WrestleMania V - With Hulk Hogan as the new WWF champion, Randy Savage is now a full heel and he drops Elizabeth, blaming her for his loss. After Rick Rude and Sherri have an argument, due to Rude losing the IC Title at 'Mania, Sherri says that she misses the old and rough Rude (more on it later), so she sides with Macho Man due to his aggression - Rick Rude, as mentioned, has gone from a sultry character to an opportunist and cynical one. He doesn't care about women anymore, so he lets Sherri go and lets Bobby Heenan be his manager - Jake Roberts gets injured while he's the IC champion, so a tournament is set and Mr. Perfect wins it by prevailing against Greg Valentine in the final, becoming the new IC title holder - Ted DiBiase gives Big Bossman the job of getting him the WWF Title, as Andre the Giant couldn't do it, and Andre doesn't like that - Dusty Rhodes makes his debut with no polka-dots or Sapphire, saying that after years of successes, his dream is now to win the WWF Title
WWF Summer Slam 28.08.1989
East Rutherford, NJ
1. The Rockers def. The Brainbusters (w/ Bobby Heenan) (15 mins) After losing at 'Mania, The Rockers are determined to start over again and chase the belts. Brainbusters are looking for a title shot as well and they dominate the feud thanks to their size, but Jannetty pins Blanchard with a flashy pin for the upset 2. WWF IC Title: Mr. Perfect (c) def. Terry Taylor (12 mins) The undefeated Perfect is now the IC champion and he wants to be a "perfect champion" as well. Taylor would give Perfect a good little program with a few solid matches here and there, in this one Perfect retains in a dirty way
3. Strike Force def. Powers Of Pain (w/ Mr. Fuji) (7 mins) After losing their feud with Demolition, POP is declining and so is Strike Force, as they never recovered since Martel's injury. Martel and Santana make a deal and promise each other to get the belts and do the best for the team, which works as Martel gets a decisive pinfall here
4. The Ultimate Warrior def. Rick Rude (w/ Bobby Heenan) by countout (10 mins) After Andre failed, Heenan is still determined to break Warrior's streak and tells Rude to do it so that his prestige would increase even more. These 2 had a good feud and also good matches, so I'm doing one myself here and Warrior only wins by countout when Rude is too exausted to go back to the ring and prefers leaving. Warrior splashes Heenan after the match to please the crowd after the non-finish
5. Randy Savage (w/ Sherri) def. Jimmy Snuka (13 mins)
Snuka is back and the crowd loves it, which gets under Macho Man's skin, as he accuses the fans of cheering for the wrong people at all times, as he's busting his ass for the WWF and yet they dare to boo him. This would be an intense match, Macho Man manages to win it by dropping the elbow on Snuka
6. Dusty Rhodes def. Ted DiBiase (w/ Andre The Giant and Virgil) by dq (12 mins) Dusty makes a good impact on his debut and wants to challenge for the WWF Title, but DiBiase gets involved saying that the belt will be his and that is not as prestigious as the Milliond Dollar title anyway. This would be a good commoner vs. rich guy feud, I hate non-finishes but Dusty has just debuted and I need to keep DiBiase hot so here Dream only wins by DQ when Andre gets involved
7. WWF Tag Titles: The Hart Foundation (w/ Jimmy Hart) def. Demolition (c) (11 mins) History goes full circle and, after beating all the contenders they faced in the last year, Demolition is facing the Harts again for the titles. 1989 gives us a happier and fan friendly version of Demolition, while The Harts are more experienced and meaner, just like as they shattered The Rockers' dream by cheating. The Harts regains the titles and Demolition looks extremely angry
8. WWF World Title Lumberjack Match: Hulk Hogan (c) def. The Big Bossman (w/ Slick) (13 mins) After Andre's failure, Bossman is the newest hired gun by DiBiase to get the WWF Title away from Hogan. It is a Lumbjerck Match, as Bossman manages to get lots of his fellow corrupted policemen ringside, allegedly to keep order but in reality because DiBiase offered them a lot of money to beat Hogan up. Hogan's friends would come to the rescue to try and help him and at the end The Hulkster would manage to get another victory. Not the strongest match, but hopefully a cool concept for this smoke and mirrors main event

Post Summer Slam 1989 - Ultimate Warrior starts getting involved in Hulk Hogan's business. He sides with him during tag matches against DiBiase's team, but he claims that "voices up there" are telling that it's time to be WWF champion - Ted DiBiase keeps berating Andre the Giant and reminds him that he holds his contract, so he should do what DiBiase says or Andre will lose his job - Roddy Piper comes back and targets Rick Rude, saying that he has never seen such a big di**head in the WWF and that also includes himself
WWF Survivor Series 23.11.1989 Rosemont, IL
1. Strike Force & The Rockers def. The Hart Foundation & The Rougeau Brothers (w/ Jimmy Hart) (22 mins)
Not as great as the opener from 1988, but hopefully still quite good. The Harts/Rockers feud is now well established, but it's Strike Force to get a big push here by winning another big one. Martel upsets Bret Hart and wins as the sole survivor for his team
2. Dusty Rhodes, Jimmy Snuka, Greg Valentine & Hercules def. Randy Savage, Honkytonk Man, Arn Anderson & Earthquake (w/ Sherri, Jimmy Hart and Bobby Heenan) (18 mins) The feud between Savage and Rhodes is the main attraction here, while good performers like Valentine and Anderson would have hopefully helped making the match good. Dusty is the sole survivor of the bout after he pins Savage
3. Demolition & The Bushwhackers def. The Powers Of Pain & The Bolsheviks (w/ Mr. Fuji) (13 mins) This is the shortest match of the night, as it's quite likely the weakest one of the card. Demolition dominates it easily and both Ax and Smash survive without too many issues
4. Roddy Piper, Jake Roberts, Terry Taylor & Dino Bravo def. Rick Rude, Mr. Perfect, Haku & The Genius (w/ Bobby Heenan) (24 mins)
Piper's return has ignited his feud against Rude, while Roberts wants his IC Title back from Perfect after coming back from his injury. Perfect is scared of the DDT and decides to lose by countout, while lets Piper and Roberts gang on Rude and pin him to survive
5. The Ultimate Warrior, Hulk Hogan, Brutus Beefcake & Jim Duggan def. Ted DiBiase, Andre the Giant, The Big Bossman & Zeus (w/ Virgil and Slick) (20 mins) Andre is still unhappy about the way DiBiase conducts business, while Hogan and Warrior are a weird pair as Hogan doesn't trust the unique Warrior. Hogan and DiBiase both get counted out after fighting outside, while in the ring Warrior splashed Andre for the victory. DiBiase is angry, while Hogan is shocked of the way Warrior managed to defeat the giant

Post Survivor Series 1989 - Hogan vs. DiBiase is set for the Rumble, in their first PPV match ever that is almost 3 years in the making. DiBiase also picks Big Bossman as his favorite to win the Rumble and tells Andre that he needs to help Bossman succeed - Savage, Warrior, Dusty and Rude get the strongest pushes as possible Royal Rumble winners
WWF Royal Rumble 21.01.1990 Orlando, FL
1. WWF Tag Titles: The Hart Foundation (c) (w/ Jimmy Hart) def. Strike Force (20 mins) It's the biggest chance for Strike Force, after 3 years of struggles and dedication in their road towards the belts. However, this Cinderella story has a bad ending when The Harts pin the exhausted Santana after a long babyface in perils heat segment. The crowd gives Strike Force a standing ovation, however Martel turns on Santana by kicking him in the bal** after a hug (à la Jericho/HBK at 'Mania XIX)
2. WWF IC Title: Mr. Perfect (c) def. Brutus Beefcake (10 mins) Not the strongest contender or match, more of a throwaway title defense for Perfect to reach 'Mania VI with the IC Title and still undefeated. Beefcake would still be fairly over due to all the main events he fought on Hogan's side anyway, he's also from Florida so would have hopefully gotten a lot of cheers, which means great heat once Perfect pins him
3. WWF Title: Hulk Hogan (c) def. Ted DiBiase (w/ Virgil) (15 mins) As mentioned above, this is about 3 years in the making after the shocking victory by DiBiase at Main Event '89. An important part of the storyline would be that commissioner Jack Tunney admonishes all referees to prevent any bribing by DiBiase and also wants nobody, apart from Virgil, to be at ringside. DiBiase gets a lot of offensive and looks almost like Hogan's equal, but eventually gets defeated
4. Royal Rumble: The Ultimate Warrior wins by last eliminating Randy Savage (62 mins) All the participants: Warrior, Savage, Roma, Rougeau x2, Genius, Garvin, Valentine, Duggan, Bossman, Koko, Jannetty, Roberts, Piper, Warlord, Dusty, Andre, Taylor, Ax, Smash, Haku, Akeem, Snuka, Bravo, Earthquake, Honky, Michaels, Barbarian, Rude and Hercules. Rude gets #1 and eliminates a lot of wrestlers, however Piper come at #15 (not advertised) and the 2 fight all over the arena. Andre gets #30 but, when he's ready to enter the match, DiBiase stops him and gets his spot instead. Andre doesn't touch DiBiase, but he's mad and eliminates Bossman before leaving. The final four is: #8 Savage, #22 Warrior, #24 Dusty and #30 DiBiase. Dusty gets eliminated by Savage and DiBiase, then Macho Man rests while Warrior eliminates DiBiase. It's Warrior and Savage in quite a long final showdown and Warrior wins the match

Post Royal Rumble 1990 - Hogan vs. Warrior is set for WrestleMania VI in the first face vs. face main event - Andre the Giant is finally tired of Ted DiBiase's ways and turned on him, beating up Virgil and Big Bossman. DiBiase manages to run away and Andre hasn't hit him yet since his babyface turn - Savage and Dusty are having a quite "dirty" feud for the standard of '80s, nothing too extreme but closer to Mid South or even JCP rather than the clean WWF style - Mr. Fuji brings in The Orient Express as the new team to stop Demolition
WWF WrestleMania VI 01.04.1990 Toronto, Canada
1. Rick Martel (w/ Slick) def. Tito Santana (13 mins) Martel adopts the vain "model" gimmick since his split with Santana. This match comes 3 years after 'Mania III, when Strike Force was created after their single bout. Now the result is different, as Santana is progressively slowing down while Martel has learned so much from him and manages to defeat him
2. Demolition def. The Orient Express (w/ Mr. Fuji) (8 mins)
As mentioned, Orient Express is the new tag team that Fuji brings in to defeat Demolition in their long feud. This is a short but intense match and the two teams can surely deliver a better match in 8 minutes rather than in a longer encounter. Demolition win again and stays at the top of the division
3. WWF IC Title: Mr. Perfect (c) def. Jake Roberts (13 mins) This is quite logic booking, as Roberts never lost the IC Title and now challenges back for the title that he felt was his, right 1 year after winning it. Perfect is still undefeated and uses all the champion tricks to retain the championship. Roberts is still the favorite, but here Perfect reverses the DDT in a dirty roll up and steals the victory once again
4. Bullrope Match: Randy Savage (w/ Sherri) def. Dusty Rhodes (12 mins) Dusty made the Bullrope Match so famous and Savage would have surely given him a good one, even though I wouldn't reach the JCP limits and still keep it a bit safer. It's also important to note that Elizabeth is shown in the crowd, for the first time ever since Macho's turn heel. Savage wins the match here, also thanks to Sherri's involvement
5. Roddy Piper def. Rick Rude (w/ Bobby Heenan) (14 mins) While Savage/Dusty shows action that is more intense than regular WWF, this feud has major intensity when it comes to the interviews. Piper doesn't have nice words for Rude and his cynical ways, while Rude says that Piper just plays a tough man instead of being one. Rude is leaving soon and Piper is in Canada, so Hot Rod goes over here 6. WWF Tag Titles 2/3 Falls: The Rockers (w/ Jimmy Snuka) def. The Hart Foundation (c) (w/ Jimmy Hart) (16 mins)
It's the Rockers' last chance, as not only the have never been champions but they have also never beaten The Harts on PPV. Plus, they have to do it twice in one night as it's a 2/3 falls match. Can't give it too much time as the card is quite meaty already, but they have enough for an interesting match that finishes when Michaels pins Bret and The Rockers are finally champions
7. Million Dollar Title: Andre The Giant def. Ted DiBiase (c) (w/ Virgil) by ko (7 mins) Lots of smoke and mirrors here. Andre hasn't been able to put his hands on DiBiase yet, after all of his bullying. The champion here stalls a lot to avoid it, until Andre finally punches him and knocks him out. The referee awards the match to Andre, who also takes the belt away and this is how Andre retires, back as a babyface and before his total in ring decline
8. WWF Title: The Ultimate Warrior def. Hulk Hogan (c) (18 mins) Quite a strong challenge for Hogan, as Warrior is still undefeated. Warrior's ways and promos almost freak Hogan out, especially when he talks to the spirits and seems almost not vulnerable. I wouldn't change much of the actual match, if not removing a few minutes of stalling and keeping it tighter, also because the crowd was really into it. Same finish, Warrior wins with a 3.00001 referee count and Hogan hands him the belt

Post WrestleMania VI - Ultimate Warrior's title reign has reignited his feud with Rick Rude, who's claiming that he is the only one that Warrior has not pinned and that he is too scared to face Rude - Andre the Giant retires in a MSG ceremony and him and Hulk Hogan finally bury the hatchet. Ted DiBiase is mad about it, of course, and wants revenge - Tito Santana defeats Rick Martel in a rematch, injuring him again. Martel gets stretchered out and refuses Santana's attempt to apologise - Jake Roberts is frustrated for failing to regain the IC Title and has turned heel, getting super dark and evil
- Kerry Von Erich makes his debut - The Legion of Doom debuts as a babyface tag team
WWF Summer Slam 27.08.1990 Philadelphia, PA
1. The Legion Of Doom def. The Hart Foundation (w/ Jimmy Hart) (13 mins) LOD has made a good impression since their debut in the WWF. Jimmy literally pushes the Harts to face them to get their credibility back, even though LOD claim to be in the WWF for mainly one tag team. LOD wins a hard fought match and Jimmy is not happy with his guys
2. Kerry Von Erich def. The Warlord (w/ Slick) (6 mins) Warlord spoils Kerry's debut by attacking him and wanting a spot in the WWF due to his size only. Not the greatest debut for Kerry here, but it fills the card and hopefully impresses the fans to see this newcomer take down a giant with his Claw
3. The Orient Express (w/ Mr. Fuji) def. The Powers of Pain (7 mins) Another short match, as POP has turned face and accuses Fuji of not caring about them after he has debuted the Orient Express, who is getting more success then them. It is a short and all out match, with Fuji saying that he will side with the actual winners. Orient Express takes the win here
4. WWF IC Title: Mr. Perfect (c) def. Tito Santana (14 mins) Santana would have given Perfect a good match and this goes full circle as Perfect won the then vacated belt against Tito more than 1 year ago. Tito is a former champions and wants to get the title back, but Perfect's form and tactics have always been off charts and he retains once again
5. WWF Tag Titles: The Rockers (c) (w/ Jimmy Snuka) def. Demolition (w/ Crush) (12 mins) Demolition plays a more heelish part here, as the Rockers are clearly underdogs, even if they are the reigning champions now. Reverse psychology because the hunters are now the hunted, but the confidence of Shawn and Marty is impressive and they manage to win with a flashy pin 6. Jake Roberts def. Buddy Rose (7 mins)
Roberts is now darker and more evil than ever, he cuts apocalyptic promos and uses the snake not to scare his opponents, but trying to injury them for good. Rose can be a good victim, as the match would be fine and then a bite from the snake would put him on the shelf for a bit
7. Hulk Hogan & Dusty Rhodes (w/ Dustin Rhodes) def. Ted DiBiase & Randy Savage (w/ Sherri and Virgil) (15 mins) DiBiase wants to make Hogan pay and selects his mortal enemy Savage as a partner, so Hogan reacts by choosing Dusty (accompanied by the young Dustin). It is some kind of a dream partner match maybe, it can work with the classic formula of Dusty selling for everyone until Hogan's hot tag and pin on DiBiase at the end
8. WWF Title vs. Career Cage Match: The Ultimate Warrior (c) def. Rick Rude (w/ Bobby Heenan) (12 mins) Rude is obsessed by winning the title and, against Heenan's advise, accepts to put his career on the line here. It's the first time I'm doing a title vs. career and this would have hopefully made the result really uncertain. I actually really liked the real match they had and, unfortunately, we won't see Rude wrestling in the WWF ever again so he puts Warrior over here and leaves the company shortly after this

Post Summer Slam 1990 - As per the main event stipulation, Rick Rude is gone from the WWF for good. I think that the only way to make career matches important is actually honoring the stipulation - Warrior defends the WWF Title against Jake Roberts, while Randy Savage is still on a psycho mode and wants the belt back - Sgt. Slaughter has returned to the WWF and turned on Hulk Hogan during a tag match. Slaughter adopts an Anti-USA gimmick and calls himself an Iraqi sympathizer - Ted DiBiase, tired of all of his allies dropping the ball, promises to bring the most dangerous man on earth to the WWF. He will debut at the Survivor Series - Davey Boy Smith has returned as a babyface and a single competitor - Legion of Doom and Demolition have started a program
WWF Survivor Series 22.11.1990
Hartford, CT
1. The Orient Express & The Hart Foundation (w/ Mr. Fuji and Jimmy Hart) def. The Rockers & Rhythm and Blues (15 mins) Another chapter of the Harts/Rockers feud, while Orient Express is getting a good push and Rhythm & Blues gets a PPV payday despite their lowcard status at this point. Bret shines in the match, eliminating 3 opponents by himself, but then he gets pinned by HBK again after a misunderstanding with Jimmy Hart. Sato pins Michaels to win the match for his team
2. The Legion Of Doom & The Faces of Fear def. Power and Glory & Demolition (w/ Crush) (13 mins) LOD and Demolition go at it. Demolition are with Power and Glory, while Meng & Barbarian are in this match too. I liked them in WCW, but I can't really find too much space for them with such a stacked tag team division here. LOD, still undefeated, is on a tear and it comes down to them against Demolition in a 2v2, but Demolition is too exausted and decides to walk out. Animal and Hawk both survive, but they want more of Demolition
3. Tito Santana, Kerry Von Erich, Davey Boy Smith & Koko B. Ware def. Mr. Perfect, The Warlord, Rick Martel & Buddy Rose (w/ Slick) (18 mins) A lot of programs from the previous PPV are getting a follow up in here. Santana and Martel get counted out when they fight outside the ring for a long time. Perfect shines through the match, but he's left alone against Von Erich and Smith at the end. The babyfaces get the best of him and Von Erich pins Perfect, who gets defeated for the very first time since he's been in the WWF. Both KVE and Smith survive here
4. Sgt. Slaughter, Earthquake, Nikolai Volkoff & Boris Zhukov (w/ Gen. Adnan) def. Hulk Hogan, Jimmy Snuka, The Big Bossman & Jim Duggan (20 mins) It's simply the usual Hogan vs. Anti-USA formula, that was working quite well at the time. Hogan leads his team in a match that would have quite a lot of heat due to Slaughter's promos. Bossman, after quietly leaving DiBiase after 'Mania VI, sides with Hogan as he represents the American forces, but turns on him here allowing Slaughter to pin Hogan and survive. Won't use this as a main event only because the heels are winning and I want the crowd to go home happy
5. The Ultimate Warrior, Roddy Piper, Dustin Rhodes & Dusty Rhodes def. Randy Savage, Ted DiBiase, Jake Roberts & The Undertaker (w/ Sherri and Virgil) (23 mins) DiBiase's secret gun is of course Undertaker, who debuts here and pins both Dusty and Dustin in a few minutes. However, Taker doesn't really answer to DiBiase's orders and DiBiase slaps him. Taker no sells it, Tombstones Virgil and walks towards DiBiase, who runs away. With both eliminated, the match becomes Warrior/Piper vs. Savage/Roberts and would have been a good one. Warrior is the first one ever to kickout after Macho's elbow and Savage loses his sh**, ending up getting pinned by Warrior, who triumphs as the sole survivor

Post Survivor Series 1990 - Sgt. Slaughter has been awarded a title shot at the Royal Rumble due to his prestigious victory at the Survivor Series - Hulk Hogan beats Big Bossman to get revenge on him and joins the Rumble as one of the favorites, with Randy Savage, Jake Roberts and Ted DiBiase - Paul Bearer debuts as Undertaker's manager and DiBiase is furious about the fact that Taker, the creature he brought in, doesn't follow his orders. Taker would be a babyface straight away even though he acts in a heelish way, just because fans really liked him almost from the beginning anyway - Mr. Perfect is not defending the IC Title at the Rumble, mainly for 2 reasons: to get more starpower to the Rumble itself and to give space to 2 other matches (see below)
WWF Royal Rumble 19.01.1991
Miami, FL
1. WWF Tag Titles: The Rockers (c) def. The Orient Express (w/ Mr. Fuji) (18 mins) Another match that sees the Rockers as champions and underdogs at the same time if you will. This match actually took place at the real Rumble '91 and was really outstanding, hence why I am keeping it and giving it as much time as it needs to get the same result. The heels get the payday of their career, while The Rockers retain and celebrate
2. Bret Hart def. Jim Neidhart (w/ Jimmy Hart) (11 mins) After yet another loss for The Harts, Bret says that it's time for a new chapter and become a single wrestler, but Neidhart and Jimmy turn on him for being selfish. A singles match with Neidhart wouldn't be anything special, but they have been a tag team for six years and a blowoff NEEDS to happen, even as a secondary feud. Of course, Bret wins with the sharpshooter
3. The Undertaker (w/ Paul Bearer) def. Hercules (8 mins) Another match that belongs on the card in a win from Undertaker, as I am not putting him in the Rumble so close to his debut unless he's going in to win it. DiBiase bribes Hercules and tells him to eliminate the Deadman as his hired gun, but of course the plan doesn't go as DiBiase wished. Taker easily prevails on Hercules and pins him after the tombstone
4. WWF Title: Sgt. Slaughter (w/ Gen. Adnan) def. The Ultimate Warrior (c) (13 mins) As it really happened, this would generate quite a lot of buzz and interest. Slaughter keeps going on with his Anti USA campaign, while Warrior is just in his own world to be honest. I am also keeping Macho Man's interference and it would be important because it's the first time in my rebooking that the WWF Title changes hands because of someone's run in during a title match. Slaughter gets the belt a looooooot of heat
5. Royal Rumble Match: Hulk Hogan wins by eliminating Randy Savage (57 mins) All participants: Hogan, Savage, Sags, Bossman, Barbarian, Mountie, Koko, DiBiase, Dustin, Perfect, Valentine, Roma, Von Erich, Martel, Atlas, Roberts, Santana, Snuka, Bulldog, Smash, Hawk, Douglas, Animal, Crush, Duggan, Earthquake, Haku, Dusty, Knobbs and Warlord. Perfect is the MVP of the Rumble, as he draws #1 and lasts for a lot of time until Von Erich throws him out. Taker comes out to scare DiBiase, who runs away when he sees him. The final four is: Savage #12, Bulldog #19, Roberts #23 and Hogan #28. It comes down to Hogan and Savage and Hogan manages to get the best of his enemy and get a ticket to WrestleMania

Post Royal Rumble 1991
- Sgt. Slaughter grows great heat by celebrating his WWF Title with the Iraqi anthem in MSG. Hulk Hogan is the challenger for WrestleMania and fans are really behind him - The feud between Randy Savage and Ultimate Warrior is degenerating as well, for once Warrior looks like the more sane person in it as Macho, also instigated by Sherri, has lost his mind - Ted DiBiase is trying to bribe Paul Bearer in anyway he can to buy The Undertaker's contract - Bret Hart is getting a push as a single wrestler - Ricky Steamboat is back in the WWF
- The Nasty Boys have debuted in the WWF as a heel tag team
WWF WrestleMania VII 24.03.1991
Los Angeles, CA
1. Ricky Steamboat def. Bret Hart (Roddy Piper as special referee) (14 mins) Steamboat is back, but he wasn't used at 'Mania for... well, reasons? The angle is simple, as Steamboat handpicks Bret as his opponent because he sees his potential. Piper, that knows both well and is also good friend with the Harts, wants to be the referee. Open and competitive match, Steamboat only wins with a flashy pin and then shakes Bret's hand, in what hopefully would be a strong opener. Piper seems disappointed and keeps to himself
2. Jake Roberts def. Tito Santana (9 mins) Roberts' heel push continues and so does his renewed dark side. Santana steps up to defend a little fan that Roberts threatened with the snake and his mystique words. This is a full card and so this match unfortunately takes the least prestigious spot and not a lot of time, but it's still 2 capable workers here. Roberts wins with the DDT
3. The Legion Of Doom def. Demolition (10 mins) These teams have been feuded and had tension since LOD's debut. The angle is a lot about LOD feeling that Demolition are ripping them off, while Demolition can showcase all of their accolades in the WWF. This match never happened at 'Mania and, even though it won't need a lot of time, needs to be booked as it can be a good attraction. LOD goes over
4. The Undertaker (w/ Paul Bearer) def. Ted DiBiase (11 mins) DiBiase's plan has turned against him and now Undertaker is on his case and determined to eliminate DiBiase for trying to use him. Bearer is now keeping an urn ringside everytime Taker wrestles and never leaves it. DiBiase tries everything, but Taker also injuries Virgil before the match and here has a long entertaining win against DiBiase.
5. The Ultimate Warrior def. Randy Savage (w/ Sherri) (18 mins) Exactly what really happened, as Macho managed to make the feud important and also to get a good match out of Warrior. Nothing to change here, just the kickout after the elbowsmash being a precious piece of continuity after it happened at the Series. Warrior kicks out after 2 elbows this time and Macho loses it, allowing Warrior to comeback and win. I am also keeping the postmatch, with Sherri turning on Macho and Elizabeth saving him and reuniting with him after more than 2 years
6. Davey Boy Smith def. Rick Martel (8 mins) Quite an easy feud, as Martel is jealous of Davey's physique and says he looks like the better WWF wrestler ever, while fans would still cheer for Davey and make Martel extremely mad. These two have the hard job of following such a great match, so this bout needs to be kept short and at a decent pace to be spot on. Smith gets the victory
7. WWF IC Title: Mr. Perfect (c) def. Kerry Von Erich (15 mins) While Warrior/Savage would have stolen the show, this (and Bret/Steamboat) would have fought for the best technical match of the night. Von Erich has pinned Perfect at the Series and the storyline sees the former undefeated and cocky Perfect now being scared and trying to escape the claw in anyway he can. Open match, but at the end Perfect gets lucky and steals one
8. WWF Tag Titles: The Nasty Boys (w/ Jimmy Hart) def. The Rockers (c) (11 mins) Nasty Boys' debut in the WWF would consist of attacking The Rockers from behind and establishing themselves as a big time heat team, a good one for underdogs like Rockers to face. I'm not a great fan of the Nastys, but I need heel champions soon and so they can get the titles here and run with it for a bit
9. WWF Title: Hulk Hogan def. Sgt. Slaughter (c) (w/ Gen. Adnan and The Big Bossman) (20 mins) Again, this feud doesn't really change and that is despite of the backlash that it got on some media at the time. 1991 was a different year than today and this heat is good and cannot be wasted. Hogan wrestles in red, blue and white for the first time ever and crowd will surely appreciate that. Hogan is alone against everyone and still manages to drop the legdrop, win and celebrate with the US flag to close the shop
