10. Broadcaster Settings Part 1
Instead of the hard-coded broadcasters in TEW 2020, TEW 2004 had several broadcaster settings that allowed modmakers to customize which results in more realistic broadcasters. It is possible to create unique broadcasters that only broadcast in a specific city. Then it is possible to adjust the broadcaster's risk level depending on the broadcast time.

TEW 2016 also had several very good broadcaster settings and preferences that allowed modmakers to customize which results in more realistic broadcasters. The hard-coded broadcasters in TEW 2020 are just a mass of similar broadcasters, because of the hard-coded promotion products (removal of product preferences). A lucha libre promotion is handled as a traditional or sports entertainment promotion because it's hard-coded that lucha libre promotions are in the range between medium and key feature when it comes to mainstream and between heavy to key feature when it comes to traditional. The removal of the broadcaster settings and preferences will result in very unrealistic broadcasting deals with mainstream TV networks airing content that they never would in reality.

12. Game World Settings Part 1
The game world settings from the previous TEW games have been removed and are hardcoded in TEW2020.
The screenshot above is from TEW2016 and with these settings modmakers can tweak and balance to make the mods perform more realistically.
The focus for Extreme Warfare and Total Extreme Wrestling 2004 were games built for realism and to simulate real world mods, but also with customisation to allow all kind of fantasy mods. Unlike the previous games in the series this means that TEW2020 is built and balanced for one specific fictional mod.

13. Game World Settings Part 2 - Area Setup
The game world settings from the previous TEW games have been removed and are hardcoded in TEW2020. Another essential part of the game world settings are the area trends.
The screenshot above is from TEW2016 and with these settings modmakers can tweak and balance to make the mods perform more realistically.
In TEW2020 these settings have been replaced by six hardcoded trends.

TEW2016 had touring contracts for the length of a tour. Short term deals like this helped keeping the game world active, interesting and did wonders when it comes to developing up-and-coming talent (instead of all talent having long term deals).

TEW2016 had a great feature called touring contracts. Short term deals like this helped keeping the game world active, interesting and did wonders when it comes to developing up-and-coming talent (instead of all talent having long term deals). The touring regulars feature are a preset list of the touring companies to-go-workers that are likely to be offered touring contracts.

Short term deals like this helped keeping the game world active, interesting and did wonders when it comes to developing up-and-coming talent (instead of all talent having long term deals). TEW2016 had specific AI rules to make sure that the foreign workers are signed to touring contracts and not long-term written deals.

17. Expected Match Lengths
TEW2013 had a great feature called expected match length. A feature like this is a great way to give booking instructions which results in more realistic events and tv shows. It could even have been improved by being connected to the narrative features.
