May 12th - May 18th 1983- All has been great so far, but two bad news just landed on my lap this week and I need to sort them out!
- Number one: Bruiser Brody sustained a leg injury in an All Japan match and will be out for, you guessed it, 3 months! 3 months was the length of our deal, so Brody won't appear no more in WCCW. I will try to secure a longer contract, but he's a freelancer and likes his deals to be short. So, who's facing King Kong Bundy at Parade of Champions? I will need to find a substitute
- Number two: as CWA is now a medium company, the workers I share with them now rather work their shows rather than mines. Which makes sense, but unfortunately they run a show every Monday... the only worker that was supposed to be on my show and will miss it is Terry Taylor, which sucks as I have been building this mixed tag match for months now. Again, I need a replacement!
- Some good news now: Kerry von Erich has exclusively signed with us for 3 years. His brother Kevin, while still not exclusive, asked for a raise and now makes $1000 per show
- The Dallas Sportatorium now sits 8200 people and I will hopefully have to add more seats soon!
- Both El Santo and Jay Strongbow will retire in a month
- WWF and CWA have been working on their production values, probably to get better TV deals
- SWCW is now losing more than 2 millions and also had to sell the San Antonio venue that they owned

Taped Terry Funk promo from his ranch in Texas. Funk is back in town and can't wait to put his hands on Ric Flair and Ted DiBiase. Flair needs to stop throwing in partners and face him like a man, but DiBiase has now tickled him a few times and he wants revenge for the black glove punch he received! (79)
Terry Taylor (w/ Sherri) def. Bobby Eaton in 8:59. Ricky Morton was staring from ringside (59)
Taped video of Jimmy Garvin and Sunshine training for the intergender match. Sunshine seems quite terrible at this and Garvin says that he will find a way to turn the match in their favour, so you better expect a surprise! (62)
The Fantastics def. Brian Adias & Al Madril in 7:22 when Futlon pins Madril (57)
Postmatch Tommy Rich and Chris Adams rush to the ring, but the Fantastics go away to avoid a confrontation (59)
Mr. X (w/ José Lothario) def. Checkmate (w/ Armand Hussain) in 7:18. Gran Markus uses a distraction and tries again to pull X's mask off, but José stops him and X wins the match with a roll up (56)
Marc Lowrance interviews Skandor Akbar and King Kong Bundy at ringside and they laugh about Bruiser Brody, saying that he was too scared to face Bundy and suddenly got hurt! Gary Hart approaches the duo saying that Brody promised he will be back, but in the meantime he found a replacement as well: his tag team partner Stan Hansen! Bundy is furious! (78)
WCCW American Heavyweight Title: Kevin von Erich (c) def. The Great Kabuki (w/ Armand Hussain) in 13:14 with the claw. Hussain tried to distract the referee, but Iceman Parsons stepped in to push Hussain away and let the match continue (72)
Postmatch Marc Lowrance interviews all the von Erichs, who first of all say that their dad is now resting at home after the Star Wars incident. David talks about how their dad made them promise not to fight the Freebirds in a 3v3, because he invested a lot of money in the Birds and didn't want them to be diminished, as he expects his sons to become World Champions and work in lots of territories, so he needs the Birds in Texas. Kevin reveals that his dad was the one begging Kevin to substitute Buddy Roberts last year at Christmas Star Wars when Roberts couldn't make it! And Kerry adds that later that night Hayes was the referee for his NWA World Title match and promised to screw Ric Flair to get a title shot from him, but he refused and this started the war! They are going back on the promise made to their dad, but now they need to beat the Freebirds for their dad and for World Class! (79)
Show notes- The crowd was really into the last segment, which lasted several minutes due to all the explanations from the von Erichs. As usual, David was a notch above his brothers
- Kabuki never got a TV Title shot due to the Al Madril debacle and so got an American Title shot instead. He did quite well and his interactions with Parsons have been good as well
- Regardless of the two bad news that came this week, the backstage morale is really good. Terry Funk cooked pancakes for all the workers and the atmosphere was really nice
- Stan Hansen seemed like a logical choice to replace Brody, not only it's his partner but he's a Texan as well and gets along really well with the Funks too. As of now, Hansen is coming in for a one off thanks to All Japan, but let's see what the future brings us...
- I haven't announced any updates for the mixed tag match yet, the only note was Garvin admitting that he has a plan to avoid the match from happening. The reality is that I still don't have a defined plan for the replacement and I will weigh my options a bit more. Bundy vs. Brody was a main event and the injury needed to be address, the mixed tag match is not the main event and, as much as I think the girls are doing great, nobody will probably feel sorry if Sunshine doesn't wrestle. I still want the match to happen someday though
- The Fantastics are settling in quite well
- Jim Cornette and Bill Mercer have developed a great chemistry on commentary and they are boosting a few matches with their skills
