Note: I refuse to use the event title "Great Balls of Fire." So this reverts back to the original Badd Blood name it was going to use instead.WWE Badd Blood July 9, 2017 American Airlines Center Dallas, TX
*Jinder Mahal & The Singh Brothers [Samir & Sunil Singh] d. Big Cass & The Revival [Scott Dawson & Dash Wilder] by Pinfall Jinder Mahal and The Singh Brothers had targeted Enzo Amore on an episode of Raw, beating down the smacktalker for some of the things he had said about Mahal the previous week. This led to Big Cass recruiting The Revival in facing the Indian trio. Cass controlled much of the match, but was eventually taken out on the outside by Mahal, who clipped the big man's knee. In the end, the six man turned into an all out brawl, and amidst the confusion Mahal rolled up Big Cass and held the tights to pick up the win.
*The Blue Blazer [Chris Jericho] d. Titus O'Neil by Pinfall Titus O'Neil was set to take on a revitalized Blue Blazer in the latter's WWE re-debut. From the beginning it was clear that this iteration of the Blue Blazer was actually Chris Jericho, who had lost a Loser Leaves Town match to Kevin Owens the previous month. The Blazer used most of Jericho's signature offense and beat O'Neil after hitting a Lionsault (dubbed here a Blazer Sault). After the match, Kevin Owens came out and tried to unmask the Blazer, but the masked man escaped through the crowd.
*Andrade w/Zelina Vega d. Finn Balor by Pinfall to Win the United States Title The newly debuted Andrade got his first main roster title shot, challenging Finn Balor for the United States title. With Zelina Vega by his side, Andrade had an even match with the Prince, but it looked like Balor would pull out the victory after hitting a series of Sling Blades on El Idolo. A momentary distraction from Vega on the outside stopped Balor from hitting the Coup De Grace, allowing Andrade to catch him on the top rope and then hit a hammerlock DDT from the top, spiking Balor and picking up the win and the title.
*Seth Rollins & Dean Ambrose Wrestled to a No Contest At Extreme Rules, it appeared as if Dean Ambrose had abandoned Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns in their six man handicap match. In reality, Ambrose claimed he had been taken out by Andrade before the match, though Rollins denied this and still blamed Ambrose for not showing. The two finally had it out with each other and engaged in an all out brawl, only to be attacked by Andrade and Samoa Joe after they had been fighting for several minutes. With Roman Reigns preparing for his match later, Rollins and Ambrose were forced to fight back to back to fight off the heels, and the two seemed to come to an understanding with each other in the heat of battle. However, the numbers game eventually left both men lying in the middle of the ring.
*Alexa Bliss d. Bayley by Pinfall to Retain the WWE Women's Championship Like she had in previous weeks, WWE Women's Champion Alexa Bliss was relying heavily on her hired muscle Nia Jax to provide backup for her title reign. The former champion Bayley gave everything she had, but Jax's constant interference prevented her from making much headway for the title, as Bliss eventually hit Twisted Bliss to pick up the victory. After the match, Jax set up Bayley by placing her arm inside a steel chair, before taking out Sasha Banks who attempted to make the save. Bliss then hit a second Twisted Bliss onto the chair, seemingly breaking Bayley's arm in the process.
*The Bar [Sheamus & Cesaro] & The Club [Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows] Wrestled to a No Contest [The Club Retain the World Tag Team Titles] Gallows and Anderson had been dominant tag team champions since coming over to Raw in the Superstar Shakeup, but met their match in the former champions of Sheamus and Cesaro. In a hard hitting match for the titles, it appeared as if Sheamus and Cesaro would pull out the victory, only for the surprise debut of Authors of Pain to interrupt the match. Akam and Rezar laid out both teams, causing the match to be thrown out, as AOP stood tall with their manager Paul Ellering by their side.
*Roman Reigns d. Drew McIntyre w/Samoa Joe & Andrade by Disqualification With both Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose nearly taken out earlier in the night, Roman Reigns appeared to be alone in his match against Drew McIntyre. The numbers game provided the Scottish Psychopath an advantage early on. Reigns made a comeback, and after he hit McIntyre with a Spear had the man beaten, only for Samoa Joe and Andrade to jump in and make the save, resulting in a disqualification. Faced with 3 on 1 odds, it appeared that Reigns would be beaten down, but he was saved by Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose, who limped to the ring wielding baseball bats. The three men chased off the heels and then gave the salute of the Shield, seemingly officially reuniting for the first time in three years.
*Goldberg d. Rusev w/Lana by Pinfall to Retain the World Heavyweight Title The Bulgarian Brute Rusev took on Goldberg in the main event of the evening, and the match proved to be the most difficult that Goldberg had faced in his short title run. Rusev nearly pulled off the victory after locking the champion in the Accolade, but Goldberg was able to fight out of the hold and break it, before delivering two successive spears followed by a Jackhammer for the victory. After the match, Goldberg was confronted by the winner of the Raw Money in the Bank briefcase, Braun Strowman, who signaled his intentions to cash in soon as the show came to a close.
Off-Camera Title Changes July 11: The Usos d. The New Day for the WWE Tag Team Titles July 12: Andrade Forefits the NXT North American Title Due to Winning the United States Title on the Main Roster July 12: Adrian Neville d. Pete Dunne for the International Championship

WWE Battleground July 23, 2017 Wells Fargo Center Philadelphia, PA
*Charlotte Flair & Becky Lynch d. Liv Morgan & Sarah Logan by Submission in a 1st Round Women's Tag Title Tournament Match For the first time ever WWE had announced that they would have a Women's Tag Team Title, holding a tournament to crown the first ever champions, with the finals culminating at Summerslam. The first match of the tournament saw former Women's Champions Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch team up to face Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan of the Riott Squad. Despite the rookies giving it their best efforts, Flair and Lynch were too much to overcome, with Lynch causing Logan to submit following the Dis-Arm-Her.
*Luke Harper w/Erick Rowan d. Randy Orton by Pinfall After Luke Harper had cost Randy Orton the WWE Championship at Money in the Bank, the Viper had tried to take out both members of the Wyatt Family heading into Battleground. To the surprise of many though, Harper was able to fight out of most of Orton's offense until near the very end after Orton caught him with a Snap Powerslam. Orton then went for the RKO, but Harper spun out of the move and delivered a thunderous Discus Clothesline to pick up the pinfall.
*Shinsuke Nakamura & AJ Styles Wrestled to a Time Limit Draw For the previous few weeks, Shinsuke Nakamura and AJ Styles had formed a marriage of convenience of sorts, but still had a rivalry that dated back to their time in New Japan Pro Wrestling. Smackdown General Manager Daniel Bryan decided to "shake things up" by having the two face off in a match at Battleground. The match was a dazzling display of strong style, with neither man gaining a definitive advantage before the 20 Minute Time Limit expired. After the match, the two men shook each others hand as a sign of respect.
*Adrian Neville d. Matt Hardy by Pinfall to Retain the International Championship After coming back at Wrestlemania as a tag team, both of the Hardy Boys were seeking individual gold at Battleground, as Matt challenged newly crowned International Champion Adrian Neville while Jeff faced Bray Wyatt for the WWE Title. The veteran Hardy nearly had the high flyer beaten, but Neville was able to counter the Twist of Fate into a roll up for the surprise pinfall victory.
*Natalya d. Naomi by Submission to Retain the Women's World Championship After she cashed in her Money in the Bank contract to win the Women's World Championship, Natalya was immediately set to face former champion Naomi in a rematch for the title. Even with the playing field even, though, Natalya was able to capitalize on Naomi's still somewhat injured leg to get the victory after applying the Sharpshooter.
*The Usos [Jimmy & Jey Uso] d. The New Day [Xavier Woods & Big E] by Pinfall to Retain the WWE Tag Team Titles The Usos had regained tag team gold by defeating their old rivals, The New Day, on an episode of Smackdown leading into Battleground. A rematch was set for the Pay Per View, and the two teams had bad blood going into the match after a lengthy segment involving a "rap battle" between the two groups. The New Day nearly won the match after Woods hit the Limit Break Elbow on Jimmy, but the ref had been taken out in the intermediary. Suddenly a masked man from the crowd came out and dropped an elbow of his own on Woods, before hitting a Samoan Drop on him. Jimmy then covered Woods while Jey dealt with Big E on the outside to secure the pinfall victory.
*Baron Corbin d. Apollo Crews by Pinfall to Win the Intercontinental Title Baron Corbin had won a Fatal Fourway match on Smackdown to earn the right to challenge Apollo Crews for the Intercontinental Championship. The two had met several times before both in NXT and on Smackdown, with Crews usually getting the better of the deal. It appeared to be heading in that direction again, until surprisingly Maryse made her way out and distracted the champion. Eventually both the referee and Crews turned away from Maryse as Corbin feigned a knee injury, but that gave Maryse the chance to use her loaded Gucci purse to drill Crews in the back of the head, sending him stumbling forward. Corbin then leapt at the chance and delivered the End of Days, pinning Crews and winning the IC Title.
*Bray Wyatt d. Jeff Hardy in a Ladder Match to Retain the WWE Championship Jeff Hardy won a Battle Royal on Smackdown to become the new #1 contender to the WWE Title. As a sign of respect, Wyatt had even allowed Jeff Hardy to pick the stipulation for the match, with Hardy choosing a Ladder Match. An innovator of the form, Hardy had the match won at various points, but Wyatt was always able to stop him from getting the belt, including even hitting him with a Sister Abigail off the ladder. In the end, Wyatt was able to beat Hardy to the top of the ladder for the title, retaining his belt. After the match, Bray was joined in the ring by his fellow Wyatt Family Members, Luke Harper and Erick Rowan. However, as Wyatt got to his knees for his trademark pose, Harper attacked him from behind. Rowan watched in shock, as Harper picked up his fallen leader and then hit him with a Discus Clothesline, leaving him lying before leaving. Rowan could only stumble to the back, unsure of what to do, as The Miz's music suddenly played in the arena.
*The Miz d. Bray Wyatt Via Money in the Bank Cash-In to Win the WWE Championship With Wyatt down and out, The Miz came out and cashed in the Money in the Bank contract, quickly pinning the Eater of Worlds to pick up the victory and capture the WWE title once again to close the show.

NXT Takeover: Brooklyn III August 19, 2017 Barclays Center Brooklyn, NY
*Sanity [Eric Young & Alexander Wolfe] w/Killian Dane d. The Britstonians [Danny Burch & Oney Lorcan] by Pinfall to Win the NXT Tag Team Titles Despite finally knocking off The Authors of Pain for the NXT Tag Team Titles earlier in the Summer, Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan couldn't hold on to the titles for long as they were run down by the trio of Sanity, as Wolfe and Young hit the Stairway to Chaos on Burch to pick up the victory and win the NXT Tag Team Titles. As the trio celebrated though, cameras made their way to ringside where Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly were seated, and the two teams exchanged words before officials broke up any potential confrontation.
*Tomasso Ciampa d. Aleister Black by Pinfall in the Finals of the 2017 Warrior Cup The finals of the 2017 iteration of the Warrior Cup tournament saw Tomasso Ciampa face off against former International Champion Aleister Black. In a hard striking match between the two hard grapplers, Ciampa was able to duck an attempt at Black Mass and eventually catch Black with the Fairy Tale Ending to pick up the win and the NXT Title shot that went with it.
*The Riott Squad [Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan & Sarah Logan] d. Emmalina & The Iiconics [Peyton Royce & Billy Kay] by Pinfall The Riott Squad and The Iiconics had been engaged in a "prank war" on NXT television, with the former making fools of the Iconic Duo on numerous occasions while Royce and Kay routinely cost Squad members matches. The Iiconics recruited the "new and improved" Emmalina to their side to face off against all three members of the Squad, but it wasn't enough as Royce was pinned by Morgan following being hit with the Oblivion.
*Adrian Neville d. Noah Kassidy by Pinfall to Retain the International Title The returning Noah Kassidy faced off against an old nemesis in Adrian Neville with the International Championship on the line. The high flyer was able to duck the ground and pound offense of the former North American Champion, and eventually hit the Red Arrow to pick up the win.
*Ember Moon d. Asuka by Pinfall in a Loser Leaves NXT Match for the NXT Women's Championship After months of fighting between themselves, Ember Moon and Asuka finally faced off for the final time with the NXT Women's Championship on the line. After several minutes of back and forth between the two champions (including a spot where it became clear that Asuka had hurt her arm), Ember Moon eventually hit the Eclipse on Asuka and pinned her once and for all to earn the NXT Women's Championship. After the match the two rivals embraced and shook each others hands, signifying the end of their rivalry.
*Johnny Gargano d. Bobby Roode by Pinfall to Win the NXT Championship Sentimental favorite Johnny Gargano challenged the Glorious Bobby Roode for the NXT Championship after winning a Fatal Fourway on an episode of NXT television. Gargano had the advantage early on, but Roode quickly took advantage of a missed dive to the outside, before working over the shoulder of Gargano. Johnny Wrestling was able to rally though and pull out the victory after hitting the One Final Beat on Roode, winning the NXT Title. As he was celebrating though, Fish and O'Reilly jumped the barricade and interrupted the celebration. This was merely a distraction though as Adam Cole next came through the crowd and attacked Gargano. All three men left the new NXT champion lying as the Takeover came to a close.

WWE Summerslam August 20, 2017 Barclays Center Brooklyn, NY
*Authors of Pain [Akam & Rezar] w/Paul Ellering d. The Club [Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows], The Revival [Dash Wilder & Scott Dawson] & The Bar [Sheamus & Cesaro] by Pinfall to Win the World Tag Team Titles Four hard hitting teams from the Raw brand kicked off Summerslam with the World Tag Team Titles up for grabs. All four teams beat the paste off each other, and it looked as if the Revival might pull off the upset after hitting Karl Anderson with a Shatter Machine, only for Cesaro to make the narrow save on the two count. In the end it would be the newcomers, AOP, who would shock everyone by hitting Sheamus with the Final Chapter to pick up the win and become tag champs.
*Baron Corbin d. Sami Zayn & Randy Orton by Pinfall to Retain the Intercontinental Title Baron Corbin had entered a feud with Sami Zayn over the Intercontinental Title in recent weeks, but the situation was made even more volatile when Randy Orton entered his name into the fray to challenge for the title. After defeating the champion in a non-title match, Orton and Zayn were both put in a triple threat match by Smackdown Showrunner Shane McMahon. The two challengers had seemingly taken out the champion, only for Corbin to come back in after Orton hit Zayn with an RKO. Corbin then caught Orton with End of Days and then pinned Zayn to get the upset title retention.
*Angle Academy [Chad Gable & Jason Jordan] w/Kurt Angle d. The New Day [Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods] w/Big E by Pinfall The team of Angle Academy faced The New Day in a #1 contenders match for the WWE Tag Team Titles. With Big E providing backup to Kingston and Woods, the stage was set to maybe avoid interference from Angle Academy's mentor, Hall of Famer Kurt Angle. However, Angle got physically involved on the outside for the first time, hitting an Angle Slam on Big E to the amazement of the crowd. In the ring, Kingston hit the Trouble in Paradise on Jordan, but then was caught with a Chaos Theory Suplex from Gable, who picked up the win and earned his team a title shot.
*Braun Strowman d. Goldberg by Pinfall to Win the World Heavyweight Championship Braun Strowman had won a Raw only Money in the Bank match shortly after the event of the same name. Rather than cash-in unexpectedly as most MITB winners had done in the past, Strowman made his intentions clear that he would cash-in his title shot at Summerslam against World Heavyweight Champion Goldberg. The two alpha males hit several hard hitting shots against each other, which included Strowman even no-selling an early Spear from the champion. In the end, Strowman countered Goldberg's second Spear attempt with a Spear of his own, before lifting Da Man on his shoulder and hitting a Running Powerslam for the victory and the World Heavyweight Title.
*Luke Harper d. Bray Wyatt by Pinfall At Battleground the Wyatt Family had finally imploded when Luke Harper turned on Bray Wyatt, leaving him lying and easy pickings for the Miz to cash in his Money in the Bank contract and win the WWE Title. Amidst all the internal chaos between Wyatt and Harper, Erick Rowan was left astray, unsure of who to follow. The former cult leader and his former disciple met for the first time one on one at Summerslam, and in the end Rowan would choose to align with his tag partner Harper over Wyatt, setting the stage for Harper to hit his Discus Clothesline and pin the former WWE Champion in a huge upset victory.
*The Blue Blazer (Chris Jericho) d. Kevin Owens in a Hair vs. Mask Match For several weeks Kevin Owens had been trying to prove that The Blue Blazer was in fact Chris Jericho (who had been banished from WWE several weeks earlier after losing a match to Owens). He even managed to unmask the super hero one time, only for the man under the mask to be WWE Hall of Famer Owen Hart (the originator of the Blazer gimmick). The Blazer (who in reality was Jericho) agreed to put his mask on the line against Owens' own hair. Owens had control for much of the match, but was unable to put the Blazer away before the hero could make a comeback. The referee took a bump late in the match just as Owens hit a Stunner, and KO moved to take the Blazer's mask off. He was interrupted however by the afore mentioned Owen Hart, who came out of the crowd and hit Owens with a Spinning Heel Kick before the ref came too. The Blazer then hit a Lionsault to pick up the victory on Owens, who proceeded to have his head shaved shortly thereafter.
*AJ Styles & Shinsuke Nakamura d. The Usos [Jimmy & Jey Uso] by Pinfall to Win the WWE Tag Team Titles The team of AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura had been unified by their mutual respect for one another, and faced The Usos for the WWE Tag Team Titles in a stellar match. Despite the experience as a team of the brothers Uso, Styles and Nakamura were able to score the victory and win the titles after Nakamura hit Jimmy with a Boma Ye, while Styles pinned Jey with a Styles Clash at the same time.
*Charlotte Flair & Becky Lynch d. Sasha Banks & Alexa Bliss by Pinfall to Win the Inaugural Women's Tag Team Titles The tournament final for the Women's Tag Team Titles was held, featuring Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch teaming against the unlikely pairing of Sasha Banks and Alexa Bliss. Banks was originally set to team with her rival/friend Bayley, but injuries caused by Bliss cost her that chance, causing Raw General Manager Mick Foley to order Bliss to team with Banks. The unlikely duo made it all the way to the finals, and Banks nearly single handedly won the titles for her team, locking Becky Lynch in the Banks Statement while the referee dealt with Bliss and Flair on the outside. However Nia Jax, who had been originally barred from ringside by Foley, came through the crowd and elbow dropped Banks and placed Lynch on the fallen Boss before the referee turned around. This only netted a Two Count, but Charlotte was able to tag herself in and hit a Natural Selection on the damaged Banks while Bliss merely looked on smirking for the pinfall, picking up the inaugural championship.
*The Miz w/Maryse d. Apollo Crews by Pinfall to retain the WWE Championship After The Miz cashed in Money in the Bank, he immediately faced a challenge from former Intercontinental Champion and longtime rival Apollo Crews. Crews won a one night tournament to crown a new #1 contender for the WWE championship, and was set to face the A-Lister at Summerslam. It looked as if Crews would repeat his performance at Wrestlemania, however Miz took advantage of some outside help from Baron Corbin, who attacked Crews while he was on the outside, distracting the referee in the meantime. Corbin tossed Crews back in the ring and, after a short back and forth, Miz caught Crews with the Skull Crushing Finale to pick up the win and retain the title.
*The Shield [Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins] d. Samoa Joe, Drew McIntyre & Andrade w/Zelina Vega by Pinfall After several months of teases (and continued interruptions by the trio of Joe, McIntyre and Andrade), The Shield finally reunited after three years apart, teaming up to face there enemies in a Brooklyn Street Fight. The match went all over the Barclays Center and was full of plunder, but in the end the Shield stood strong as they delivered a Triple Powerbomb to McIntyre through a Flaming Table to pick up the win and reaffirm their place as one of the most dominant factions of all time to close the show.

WWE No Mercy September 24, 2017 Staples Center Los Angeles, CA
*Roman Reigns d. Andrade w/Zelina Vega by Pinfall to Retain the United States Title Despite their victory at Summerslam, The Shield still wasn't done with the trio of Samoa Joe, Drew McIntyre & Andrade. In particular the feud had embroiled Reigns and Andrade, after the latter cost Reigns a shot at the World Heavyweight Champion Braun Strowman, and Reigns returned the favor by winning the United States Title from El Idolo. Despite the presence of both Drew McIntyre and Zelina Vega near ringside, Reigns was able to survive the rematch for the title, hitting Andrade with a Spear and retaining the US Championship.
*Rusev & The Bar [Sheamus & Cesaro] w/Lana d. R-Truth & The Revival [Scott Dawson & Dash Wilder] by Pinfall Tensions had risen in recent weeks between Rusev and Lana, with the former blaming his manager (and real life wife) for his recent string of bad luck. Things were compounded when R-Truth stumbled into the mix, offering a shoulder for Lana to cry on and starting a feud between him and the Bulgarian Brute. Rusev teamed with old allies Sheamus and Cesaro against R-Truth and The Revival, with Lana ostensibly in her husband's corner. Lana would inadvertantly provide a distraction for R-Truth as he nearly pulled off the upset, only for Truth to turn around into a Brogue Kick from Sheamus, who then scored the pinfall.
*"The Demon" Finn Balor d. Kevin Owens by Pinfall to Win the #1 Contendership to the World Heavyweight Title Kevin Owens and Finn Balor had emerged as top contenders to the World Heavyweight Championship, with a match between the two on Raw going to a 30 Minute Time Limit Draw and necessitating a rematch at No Mercy. Balor added fuel to the fire so to speak, resurrecting his Demon persona to take on Owens in the No Time Limit Rematch. This seemed to provide the extra bit that Balor needed to pull off the victory, hitting a Coup De Grace from the top to pick up the win.
*Alexa Bliss & Nia Jax d. Sasha Banks in a 2 on 1 Handicap Match to Retain the WWE Women's Championship After Alexa Bliss and Nia Jax had intentionally sabotaged Sasha Banks' chances at winning the Women's Tag Team Titles at Summerslam, Banks had beaten both of them in Singles Matches on Raw leading into No Mercy. Banks said she would take on both women at once in a Handicap Match, which Raw GM Mick Foley would later make a title match. Despite Banks nearly pulling off the upset after Bliss inadvertantly hit Nia Jax with a straight right hand, the Annihilator bailed Bliss out of the jam and hit a sitout powerbomb to pick up the win and retain Bliss' title. After the match, the two looked to further damage Banks, but the Boss was saved by the arrival of Bayley who had a steel chair in hand, chasing off the heels.
*Big Cass w/Enzo Amore d. Jinder Mahal w/The Singh Brothers by Pinfall In a standard match, Big Cass finally seemed to put away the lingering feud between his team and the Modern Day Maharajah Jinder Mahal, hitting a huge Big Boot to the face of the Indian Superman to pick up the win.
*Authors of Pain [Akam & Rezar] w/Paul Ellering d. The Shield [Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins] by Pinfall to Retain the World Tag Team Titles Despite their lingering trust issues, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins of The Shield attempted to team together to take the World Tag Team Titles from the Authors of Pain. Ambrose and Rollins worked through some initial mistrust with one another, but by the end of the match were working well enough together to come close to winning the match. After Rollins hit Rezar with a Curb Stomp, he made the cover, only for Paul Ellering to pull him out of the ring. Rollins then KO'ed the aged manager. However with the referee distracted by Akam and Ambrose fighting, he missed Drew McIntyre coming out of the crowd and KO'ing Rollins with a Claymore Kick before leaving the area. Ambrose was then caught unawares and hit with the Final Chapter from AOP, with the champs retaining.
*Braun Strowman d. Samoa Joe by Pinfall to Retain the World Heavyweight Championship Samoa Joe had become #1 contender to the World Heavyweight Title after defeating Roman Reigns on Raw, leading to him becoming the first challenger to the Monster Amongst Men Braun Strowman. The two had a hard hitting fight with Joe trying to take the monster down to the ground and lock in the Coquina Clutch, while Strowman's power was seemingly too much to overcome. In the end, Joe did get his dreaded submission on, but Strowman was able to hoist him up onto his shoulder and deliver a modified running powerslam to break the hold. Strowman then managed to get back to his feet and catch Joe with a thunderous Spear to pick up the win and retain his title. After the match though, the music of Goldberg played, with Da Man seemingly wanting a rematch for the title, only for both men to be confronted by Brock Lesnar appearing in the entryway to close the show.

Note: In lieu of the Mae Young Classic Final, I've added another NXT Takeover special just before Hell in a Cell.
NXT Takeover: DetroitOctober 7, 2017 Joe Louis Arena Detroit, MI
*Heavy Machinery [Otis & Tucker] d. The Mighty Aussies [Shane Thorne & Nick Miller] by Pinfall In a standard tag team match, the blue collar duo of Otis and Tucker, also known as Heavy Machinery, had a lengthy contest with the Mighty Aussies. In the end, Otis hit an elbow drop from the second rope following a spinebuster from Tucky in order to pick up the win and move up the tag ranks.
*Kairi Sane d. Mercedes Martinez by Pinfall in the Finals of the 2017 Mae Young Classic Throughout the summer, in lieu of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Classic, a women's single elimination tournament named after WWE Hall of Famer Mae Young was instituted featuring women from across the world. The finals was down to Japanese star Kairi Sane and longtime independent worker in America Mercedes Martinez. Despite having the experience advantage, Martinez was overwhelmed by Sane and Kairi finished her off with a Top Rope Elbow, as she picked up the win.
*The Undisputed Era [Adam Cole, Bobby Fish & Kyle O'Reilly] d. Sanity [Eric Young, Alexander Wolfe & Killian Dane] w/Roderick Strong by Pinfall At Takeover Brooklyn III, NXT had been shocked by the joint debuts of Adam Cole, Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly, who together formed a group called the Undisputed Era. The trio had not only targeted NXT Champion Johnny Gargano but had also targeted tag team champions Sanity and their fellow Ring of Honor alumnus Roderick Strong. The trio faced all three members of Sanity, with Strong providing backup in the champions corner. This would prove to be a ruse, however, as Strong turned on Sanity, putting Fish's foot on the rope to break a pinfall from Killian Dane. This momentary distraction allowed O'Reilly to hit Dane with a chair as Young and Wolfe chased after Strong, while Adam Cole jumped in and hit the Last Shot on Dane, knocking him out. Fish then covered Dane for the win as Cole and O'Reilly took out the other members of Sanity, before the 4 members of the Undisputed Era posed in the ring.
*Aleister Black d. Mustafa Ali by Pinfall to Retain the North American Title Aleister Black had won the vacant North American Title on an episode of NXT television, last eliminating Mustafa Ali from a Fatal Fourway match to do so. Ali had been granted a rematch for the title by NXT General Manager William Regal, and he nearly pulled off the upset after hitting Black with several high flying moves. Ali went for a 450 Splash to put away the Darkfather, but Black was able to get his knees up. Eventually he hit the Black Mass to pick up the win and retain his title.
*Ember Moon d. Nikki Cross by Pinfall to Retain the NXT Women's Championship After finally winning her lengthy feud with Asuka (who's move to the main roster had been delayed by injury), Ember Moon entered a brief feud with Nikki Cross over the NXT Women's Championship. Moon was able to successfully retain her title after hitting Cross with the Eclipse.
*Tomasso Ciampa & Johnny Gargano Wrestled to a No Contest [Gargano Retains NXT Championship] The former members of DIY had been feuding ever since Ciampa turned on Gargano in the spring, but neither one had managed to earn a definitive victory over the other longterm. Things intensified when Ciampa won the Warrior Classic and Gargano won the NXT Championship, putting them on another collision course. The two had a brutal match filled with false finishes, but neither could finish the other off. Sadly, the match would end in a No Contest when the Undisputed Era made their second appearance for the night, attacking both the participants as Cole posed with the NXT Title to close the show, with NXT General Manager William Regal looking on seething.
