NXT Takeover: Chicago II June 16, 2018 Allstate Arena Chicago, IL
*Ricochet d. Roderick Strong by Disqualification Roderick Strong was initially set to defend the International Championship against Shelton Benjamin, but the Gold Standard had been attacked by the Undisputed Era on an episode of Smackdown prior to this Takeover, leading to Strong instead casting an open challenge for his belt. The open challenge was answered by NXT newcomer Ricochet. The high flyer ran circles around the unsuspecting Strong, and Ricochet eventually came close to beating the UE member for the International Title in a huge upset, but Strong hit an intentional low blow in front of the referee to get himself disqualified, keeping the title as a result.
*War Raiders [Erik & Ivar] d. Heavy Machinery [Tucker & Otis] by Pinfall The Mighty War Raiders, Erik and Ivar, were making their NXT debut here, taking on the blue collar tag team of Heavy Machinery. The beefy display saw both teams try to throw their weight around, ultimately with Ivar hitting an impressive moonsault from the top rope onto Tucker, flattening him and getting the win for the War Raiders.
*Shayna Bayzler d. Dakota Kai by Submission to Retain the NXT Women's Championship Dakota Kai had won a battle royal on NXT to earn the next shot at Shayna Bayzler for the NXT Women's Championship. Despite Kai giving it her best efforts, she ultimately was no match for the Queen of Spades, who locked her in the Kirafuda Clutch for the relatively easy win. After the match though, Bayzler continued to attack Kai and locked her in the Kirafuda Clutch again to show her dominance. Kai was saved however by Kairi Sane, as the Mae Young Classic winner came to the challenger's aide, chasing off the champion.
*Adam Cole d. Velveteen Dream by Pinfall to Retain the NXT North American Championship The charismatic Velveteen Dream challenged the leader of the Undisputed Era, Adam Cole, for the North American championship, in a match where NXT General Manager William Regal had ruled that the other three members of the faction would be barred from ringside. Despite this handicap, Cole was able to defeat Dream, hitting him with a Panama Sunrise to pick up the win and retain his title.
*The Undisputed Era [Kyle O'Reilly & Bobby Fish] d. Lucha House Party [Lince Dorado & Gran Metallik] by Pinfall to Retain the NXT Tag Team Titles After defeating Fish & O'Reilly in the finals of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Classic earlier in the year, Lucha House Party seemed primed to capture the NXT Tag Team Titles from the champions. After a long back and forth match and good contrast of styles, Gran Metallik hurt his knee on a dive to the outside, leaving Lince Dorado the odd man out as Fish and O'Reilly hit a Total Elimination to pick up the win and retain the titles.
*Tomasso Ciampa d. Pete Dunne w/British Strong Style by Pinfall to Retain the NXT Championship Having seemingly banished his longtime rival and former tag partner Johnny Gargano from NXT, Tomasso Ciampa suddenly found himself at the mercy of a three on one disadvantage between himself and Pete Dunne, with Dunne's running buddies of Mustache Mountain forming the trio known as British Strong Style. The Bruiserweight challenged Ciampa for the NXT championship, and the two had a hard hitting match that left them both bruised and battered. After nearly getting his fingers broken by Dunne, Ciampa was able to hold off the challenger and eventually hit the Fairy Tale Ending for the win. After the match though, Severn and Bate entered the ring and put the boots to the exhausted challenger. However, out of the crowd to the shock of everyone came the banished Gargano with a lead pipe, as he chased off Dunne and company, before being tackled by NXT security. Ciampa could only watch in confusion as Gargano was led away in handcuffs to close the show.

WWE Money in the Bank June 17, 2018 Allstate Arena Chicago, IL
*Alexa Bliss d. Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Sonya Deville, Mandy Rose, Naomi, Ronda Rousey & Lana in the Women's Money in the Bank Ladder Match The Women's Money in the Bank Ladder match kicked off the event, with all eyes centered around the return of Ronda Rousey, who had recently made her full time debut on Monday Night Raw, qualifying for the Ladder Match in impressive fashion by defeating Carmella. She joined a cadre of several stars, including former champions Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch and Alexa Bliss. Rousey would come close to winning, managing to climb the ladder and briefly grab the briefcase, only to be stopped by Becky Lynch briefly. Amidst their struggle, Alexa Bliss quickly climbed the ladder and, after dispatching Charlotte and Mandy Rose, grabbed it and pulled it down, winning the Money in the Bank contract and scurrying to the back before anyone could get their hands on her.
*Balor Club [Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows] w/Finn Balor d. The Revival [Scott Dawson & Dash Wilder] by Pinfall to Retain the World Tag Team Titles The Revival attempted to get back to their winning ways, challenging the Balor Club for the World Tag Team Titles. Dawson and Wilder took care of their old rivals, utilizing quick tags to keep the fresh man present at all times, but the presence of Finn Balor on the outside made all the difference, as he hit a Sling Blade on the concrete floor to seemingly concuss Dawson, leaving Wilder alone against Anderson and Gallows. Balor Club eventually used the 2 on 1 advantage, hitting the Magic Killer to get the win.
*Asuka d. Emmalina w/Carmella by Submission to Retain the Women's World Championship The duo of Emmalina and Carmella had won the Women's Tag Team Titles, but were looking to "expand their championship empire" by defeating the Empress of Tomorrow for the Women's World Championship as well. However, she was easily bested by the champion, as Asuka dispatched Carmella and then locked Emmalina in the Rising Sun to continue her winning ways.
*Bobby Lashley w/Lio Rush d. Daniel Bryan by Pinfall The feud between Daniel Bryan and Bobby Lashley had continued after their pull apart brawl the month before at Extreme Rules, with Bobby's "hype man" Lio Rush demanding another match with Bryan at Money in the Bank (Especially after Bryan had seemingly distracted Lashley while on commentary during his Money in the Bank qualifying match against Sami Zayn). Lashley dominated the early part of his match with power, but Bryan turned the tied after Lashley accidentally speared the nearby ring post. After working over the shoulder, Bryan tried to lock in the LeBell Lock, but Lio Rush distracted the referee, causing him to be knocked out by Bryan. This was all the distraction Lashley needed to come back and hit a Spear followed by a massive stack up powerbomb to pick up the win over the GOAT.
*Rusev Day [Rusev & R-Truth] d. The Bludgeon Brothers [Harper & Rowan] to Win the WWE Tag Team Titles The duo of Harper & Rowan had dominated all of their competition since just before Wrestlemania, and had shown no signs of slowing down since then. Meanwhile the unlikely pairing colloquially known as "Rusev Day" had continued to gather fan support in the same time frame, leading to them winning a poll on WWE's website to be given a shot at the champions. To the shock of everyone, Rusev and R-Truth were able to withstand the power advantage of the Bludgeon Brothers, with the Bulgarian Brute taking out Harper, leaving R-Truth to hit Rowan with a Truthseeker out of nowhere to pick up the win and capture the tag team titles.
*AJ Styles d. Baron Corbin by Pinfall to Retain the WWE Championship Baron Corbin had decided (via coinflip with his partner The Miz) that he would receive the WWE Championship match against AJ Styles, continuing the feud that the Phenomenal One had with the pair. Styles and Corbin were evenly matched in the early going, and the Lone Wolf nearly caught the champion in an End of Days when he countered a Phenomenal Forearm, but Styles was able to uniquely work his way out of the dreaded move. Eventually, Styles hit Corbin with a Phenomenal Forearm, this time landing flush on him, and picking up the win.
*Samoa Joe d. Braun Strowman, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Kofi Kingston, Bobby Roode, Shinsuke Nakamura, The Miz, Jeff Hardy & Seth Rollins to Win the Men's Money in the Bank Ladder Match The 2018 Men's Money in the Bank Ladder Match would be the biggest in company history, featuring 10 superstars competing for the briefcase. Former world champion Braun Strowman nearly cleared the field en route to winning back to back briefcases, but would be taken out by his own tag partner Seth Rollins via a huge splash from the top of another ladder. In the end, Shinsuke Nakamura came closest to winning the briefcase, only to be KO'ed off the ladder by Samoa Joe, who finished climbing and grabbed the contract himself, becoming Mr. Money in the Bank.
*Roman Reigns d. Randy Orton by Pinfall to Retain the World Heavyweight Championship The previous month at Extreme Rules, Randy Orton had turned heel once again, attacking Roman Reigns at the end of the latter's title defense against Finn Balor and immediately challenging him to a World Heavyweight Title match. The challenger controlled much of the match, playing off an injured arm that Reigns had suffered on a recent episode of Smackdown. However the champion fought through the pain and eventually caught Orton by surprise, fighting out of an RKO and hitting a Spear for the win. As Reigns celebrated though, Orton's temper exploded and he viciously attacked the champion, hitting him with a steel chair shot following an RKO onto the chair, before following up with a Punt Kick to the head, posing with the title to close the show.

WWE International Series: King of the Ring July 1, 2018 Royal Albert Hall London, United Kingdom
*Cesaro d. Sheamus by Pinfall in a King of the Ring Quarterfinal Match For the WWE International Series, the King of the Ring tournamet was making a return after a long absence, taking place inside the Royal Albert Hall in London, United Kingdom. The first match saw former tag partners Sheamus and Cesaro square off, renewing their years old rivalry in the quarterfinals of the tournament. Sheamus controlled the match with a homefield advantage early on, hitting the ten beats of the bodhran on the Swiss Superman. This set up Cesaro for a Brogue Kick, but Cesaro had it scouted and he ducked the kick, catching Sheamus with a massive boot to the face himself. After some further back and forth, Cesaro caught Sheamus with the Zurich Bomb to pick up the win.
*Kurt Angle d. The Miz by Submission in a King of the Ring Quarterfinal Match The Hall of Famer Kurt Angle was attempted to recapture his glory years, be once again winning the King of the Ring tournament 18 years after he had won it in his rookie year. His quarterfinal opponent was The Miz, who had been making fun of the hall of famer's various comeback attempts on his talk show segment on Smackdown. This was much to Miz's detriment, as he was overwhelmed by the Olympic Gold Medalist, who made Miz tap out quickly with an Ankle Lock.
*Kevin Owens d. Shinsuke Nakamura in a King of the Ring Quarterfinal Match Former WWE Champion Shinsuke Nakamura took on former World Heavyweight Champion Kevin Owens in what was viewed by many as the matchup of the quarterfinals. After a lengthy back and forth, Owens was able to duck a Boma Ye attempt from Nakamura and then hit a Pop Up Powerbomb. Owens then pinned Nakamura in the corner, using the ropes for additional leverage to steal the victory and advance in the tournament.
*Sami Zayn d. Baron Corbin in a King of the Ring Quarterfinal Match The final match of the Quarterfinals saw Sami Zayn take on Baron Corbin. The underground underdog had been complaining about his lack of success in recent weeks, but that was alleviated with this match, as Zayn was able to hit Corbin with a Helluva Kick in the corner and pick up the win.
*Alexa Bliss d. Ronda Rousey & Nia Jax Via Money in the Bank Cash-In to Win the WWE Women's Championship The advertised match was originally set to be Ronda Rousey facing Nia Jax for the Women's Championship in a one on one confrontation. The two women seemingly respected each other and looked forward to a competitive match, which is exactly what happened, until both women were knocked down by forearm shots to the face after a lengthy exchange of strikes. This brought out the former champion, Alexa Bliss, who held the women's Money in the Bank contract. Bliss cashed in and took advantage of both women being down to hit Twisted Bliss on Nia Jax and pin her, regaining the Women's title in the process.
*Shelton Benjamin d. Roderick Strong by Pinfall to Win the International Championship The feud between the veteran Shelton Benjamin and NXT star Roderick Strong over the International Championship reignited in this match, with both men showcasing their innate talents. Strong looked to finish off Benjamin with his Death by Roderick finisher, but took too long gloating to the crowd. This allowed Benjamin to fight out of the move and roll up Strong from behind, getting the pinfall and regaining the International Championship.
*Cesaro d. Kurt Angle by Pinfall in a King of the Ring Semifinal Match For the first time ever Kurt Angle took on Cesaro in a technical masterclass, with both men showcasing a level of chain wrestling not often seen in the WWE. Unfortunately the match would not end cleanly, as The Miz returned to ringside, showcasing sour grapes for his loss earlier in the night. While he distracted the referee, Maryse came out of the crowd and drilled Angle in the back of the head with her loaded purse before escaping back through the crowd. Cesaro then hit a big top rope elbow, unaware of the interference, before making the pin to advance to the finals.
*Kevin Owens d. Sami Zayn by Pinfall in a King of the Ring Semifinal Match Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn renewed their rivalry from NXT, with Zayn trying to beat Owens for the first time ever in WWE. Both men knew each other extremely well, able to counter the other's offense and neither man able to gain a full advantage over the other. In the end, Zayn nearly pulled out the victory, setting up Owens for a Helluva Kick in the corner, but Owens was able to move out of the way at the last second, causing Sami to hyperextend his knee in the process. Owens then hit a Stunner to pick up the hard fought victory. After the match, a dejected Zayn tossed ring steps around and left to the back in frustration.
*Samoa Joe d. Rey Mysterio by Submission In a special unadvertised match, Samoa Joe made short work of the veteran Rey Mysterio, choking him out with the Coquina Clutch and making his way to the back without much fanfare. As he did though, he did look upon AJ Styles as the WWE Champion made his way to the ring for his title defense, as the announcers reminded the audience at home that Samoa Joe was still Mr. Money in the Bank.
*AJ Styles d. Jinder Mahal w/The Singh Brothers by Pinfall to Retain the WWE Championship In a standard title defense, AJ Styles had little difficulty in taking out the former United States Champion Jinder Mahal, pinning the Modern Day Maharajah after hitting him with the Styles Clash.
*Cesaro d. Kevin Owens by Pinfall to Win the King of the Ring Tournament In the finals of the King of the Ring tournament, Kevin Owens tried to get the advantage early on by attacking Cesaro before the bell could begin, even hitting him with a Pop Up Powerbomb in the early going for an early near fall. The match eventually slowed down, with Cesaro's deceptive strength winning out the day over Owens versatile offense. In the end Cesar fought out of a Stunner attempt and hit several repeated European uppercuts before hitting Owens with two successive Zurich Bombs to pick up the win and become the new King of the Ring to close the show.

WWE Extreme Rules July 15, 2018 PPG Paints Arena Pittsburgh, PA
*Authors of Pain [Akam & Rezar] d. Rusev Day [Rusev & R-Truth] w/Lana by Pinfall to Win the WWE Tag Team Titles The fun, odd-couple tandem of Rusev and R-Truth found their unexpected run as tag team champions come to a screeching halt at the hands of the Authors of Pain. Akam and Rezar showed they had little time for dealing with the antics of R-Truth, destroying him and crushing him with the Last Chapter to easily win the tag titles.
*Dolph Ziggler d. Seth Rollins by Pinfall to Win the Intercontinental Title Seth Rollins had captured the Intercontinental Championship from Bobby Roode for the first time in his career on an episode of Raw, while also entering into a feud with former IC Champion Dolph Ziggler in the intermediary. Rollins' first Pay Per View title defense was going along well, as he had Ziggler set up for a Curb Stomp, when the referee was suddenly distracted by the returning Roode. Roode slipped a pair of brass knuckles into Ziggler while Rollins dealt with the distraction, allowing Ziggler to KO the Architect with a powerful right hand. Ziggler then pinned Rollins for the upset victory, regaining the Intercontinental Championship.
*The Miz w/Maryse d. Kurt Angle in a Submission Match After losing his King of the Ring Quarterfinal match to Kurt Angle earlier in the month, The Miz challenged Pittsburgh's Olympic Hero to a Submission Match. Such a thing would have appeared to be the height of hubris, but Miz had an ace up his sleeve in the form of the former Angle Academy. Chad Gable and Apollo Crews turned on their mentor when the referee was down, with Crews hitting Angle with the Crews Control while Gable performed a huge moonsault with a steel chair onto Angle's prone body. Miz then locked in a Figure-4 when the ref came too, as he saw Angle having "passed out from the pain", and awarded the match to The Miz via technical knockout.
*Aleister Black w/The House of Black d. Bray Wyatt by Pinfall in a "Darkfather Rules" Match The war between Aleister Black and his newly minted House of Black (consisting of former NXT talents Buddy Murphy and Wesley Blake) with Bray Wyatt had continued off and on for several weeks. The Eater of Worlds had refused any help in dealing with Black, and promised that he would take out Aleister in a match of Black's own making, dubbed "Darkfather Rules". Essentially a No Holds Barred match, Wyatt was able to hold his own against Black when it was one on one, but when Murphy and Blake got involved, Wyatt was overwhelmed. Eventually Black hit the Black Mass to pick up the win, but before Wyatt could be taken out entirely, his former followers of Harper and Rowan unexpectedly came to his aide, chasing off the House of Black entirely.
*Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn d. AJ Styles & Shinsuke Nakamura by Pinfall Unexpectedly to anyone who claimed to know him, Sami Zayn had suddenly turned heel on AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura, aligning himself with Kevin Owens in the Prizefighter's feud with Styles over the WWE Championship. Zayn claimed that Owens had always brought out the best in him, and he needed to capture the same "killer instinct" that Owens possessed in order to make it in WWE. The two former rivals/friends teamed together against Styles and Nakamura and were a surprisingly effective tandem. Miscommunication between Styles and Nakamura would be the difference in the match however, as Nakamura went for a Boma Ye on Owens, only for KO to duck and for Nakamura to hit Styles instead. Owens then caught the King of Strong Style with a Stunner to pick up the win.
*Daniel Bryan d. Bobby Lashley w/Lio Rush in a Falls Count Anywhere Match The feud between Daniel Bryan and Bobby Lashley reached its end in this Falls Count Anywhere match. After a brutal back and forth between the two men, Bryan finally was able to defeat the Alpha Lashley by locking him in a LeBell Lock, using a nearby electrical cord for additional leverage on the hold and able to get Lashley to tap out in the technical area, picking up the final win in this long running feud.
*Ronda Rousey d. Alexa Bliss by Disqualification to Retain the WWE Women's Championship [Bliss Retains Women's Title] After Ronda Rousey was screwed out of her attempt at the WWE Women's Championship the previous month by Alexa Bliss' cashing in, she attempted to get some revenge at Extreme Rules with the title on the line. Rousey overwhelmed the champion's attempts at retaining her title, but Bliss called on her new "BFF" Dana Brooke, who attacked Rousey and garnered an intentional disqualification, allowing the self-professed goddess to keep the Women's Title.
*Roman Reigns d. Randy Orton in a Last Man Standing Match to Retain the World Heavyweight Championship The feud between Roman Reigns and Randy Orton over the World Heavyweight Championship reached an end, as Orton was again granted a title shot at the Big Dog, this time in a Last Man Standing matchm which ended up being a brutal encounter between the two. Orton tried to take advantage of the fact that he had concussed Reigns in their last encounter with his dreaded Punt Kick, trying to set up an opportunity to use the move yet again. Reigns was able to avoid the Punt Kick though, dodging it when Orton attempted to use it on him. The match eventually spread to outside the ring, where Reigns eventually Speared Orton through a barricade at ringside. When Orton barely managed to make his way to his feet, Reigns then delivered a vicious chairshot to the head of Orton, knocking him out for good and picking up the win, despite being a bloody mess. However, Reigns could barely celebrate before the music of Samoa Joe hit.
*Samoa Joe d. Roman Reigns Via Money in the Bank Cash-In to Win the World Heavyweight Championship Despite having hinted that he would cash in on AJ Styles in recent weeks, Samoa Joe took advantage of Roman Reigns' weakness and cashed in on the World Heavyweight Champion right then and there. Reigns attempted to put up a valiant fight, but Joe out lasted the exhausted champion and locked him in the Coquina Clutch, causing him to pass out and winning his first World Heavyweight Championship, celebrating to close the show.

NXT Takeover: Brooklyn IV August 18, 2018 Barclays Center Brooklyn, NY
*Bianca Belair d. Deonna Purrazzo by Pinfall The self-professed "EST of NXT", Bianca Belair, had established an impressive win loss record in her short time on the brand, and was competing for a future shot at the NXT Women's Championship. While the veteran Deonna Purrazzo gave her tough competition, Belair was able to put away the submission specialist with a Kiss of Death for the victory.
*Roderick Strong d. Shelton Benjamin in a 2 out of 3 Falls Match to Win the International Championship The back and forth between veteran Shelton Benjamin and Roderick Strong over the International Championship continued with this 2 out of 3 Falls Match for the championship. Strong won the first fall after catching Benjamin with a counter to a sunset flip, going up 1 to nothing early on, but Benjamin refused to be put away for a second fall. Benjamin looked like he would even the score after hitting a T-Bone Suplex on Strong, but was suddenly distracted by Kyle O'Reilly from the back. That momentary distraction allowed Strong to drill Benjamin with the Death by Roderick when the veteran turned around, giving Strong the 2-0 win and the International Title.
*Johnny Gargano d. British Strong Style [Pete Dunne, Trent Severn & Tyler Bate] in a 3 on 1 Gauntlet Match to be Reinstated to NXT Johnny Gargano had been banished from NXT earlier in the year, but had returned at the last Takeover to save his former tag partner and friend (as well as enemy) Tomasso Ciampa from a 3 on 1 beatdown at the hands of British Strong Style. Gargano applied to NXT General Manager William Regal for reinstatement, but Regal wouldn't relent. Eventually Pete Dunne said that Gargano could fight for reinstatement, if he survived a 3 on 1 Gauntlet Match against all three members of the faction. Gargano took out Severn early with a Small Package, but had much more difficulty with Tyler Bate, who wrestled the former champion move for move. Gargano eventually won with a sunset flip powerbomb from the top rope, but was immediately ambushed by Pete Dunne, who tried to break Gargano's fingers. Gargano persevered and managed to even kick out of the Bitter End, before rallying and hitting Dunne with One Last Beat to pick up the win and resume his NXT career.
*Ricochet & The Velveteen Dream d. Undisputed Era [Kyle O'Reilly & Bobby Fish] by Pinfall to Win the NXT Tag Team Titles The unlikely duo of The Velveteen Dream and Ricochet teamed together to challenge Kyle O'Reilly and Bobby Fish of the Undisputed Era for the NXT Tag Team Titles. And from the outset, Fish and O'Reilly seemed to have the advantage, but were unable to take down the high flying Ricochet for long. In the end, after a ref bump, Shelton Benjamin came down to provide the challengers with a boost, hitting Fish with a Paydirt which allowed Ricochet to set him up and hit the 640 from the top rope, picking up the upset win and the NXT Tag Titles, with Benjamin getting some revenge on the UE from earlier in the night.
*Kairi Sane d. Shayna Baszler by Pinfall to Win the NXT Women's Championship The Pirate Princess Kairi Sane faced the virtually unbeatable Shayna Baszler for the NXT Women's Champion, and the former Mixed Martial Artist controlled the match early on, using various strikes to ground the former Mae Young Classic winner. Sane however was able to surprise Baszler, fighting out of the Kirafuda Clutch and getting a near fall with a Northern Lights Suplex. In the end, Baszler went out of her element, attempting a high flying move of her own which ended with Sane dodging the cross body attempt. Sane then hit her own Flying Elbow on Shayna for the three count and the huge upset, becoming the NXT Women's Champion.
*Adam Cole d. Tomasso Ciampa by Pinfall to Win the NXT Championship and Retain the NXT North American Championship It was champion versus champion as Adam Cole took on Tomasso Ciampa for both the NXT Championship and the NXT North American Championship. Prior to the match beginning, NXT General Manager William Regal ordered the Undisputed Era be barred from ringside, with new NXT signee Keith Lee providing the "muscle" to bounce the three out of the arena. This allowed for a fair fight between Cole and Ciampa, as the two champions traded near falls several times. The referee went down towards the end of the match, as Johnny Gargano made his way to ringside, simply to survey what was going on. This seemed to distract Ciampa briefly, but it didn't deter him from attempting the Fairy Tale Ending on Cole. Adam Cole reversed out of the move though and hit the Last Shot on Ciampa, before going outside for a Steel Chair. Gargano confronted Cole and fought with him over the chair. Ciampa dived from inside the ring just as Gargano won the struggle, but he accidentally hit Ciampa in the head with the chair as Ciampa dived out. Cole then superkicked Gargano and then tossed Ciampa back in the ring. He hit a Second Last Shot as the ref came too, pinning him and picking up the win to become a double champion as the night came to a close.

WWE Summerslam August 19, 2018 Barclays Center Brooklyn, NY
*Sami Zayn w/Kevin Owens d. Shinsuke Nakamura w/AJ Styles by Pinfall (Owens earns the right to name the stipulation for tonight's WWE Championship Match) Kevin Owens and AJ Styles were slated to face each other for the WWE Championship later on in the night. WWE General Manager Paige "spiced things up a bit" by having the two participants on again/off again tag partners, old NXT rivals Sami Zayn and Shinsuke Nakamura, face each other with the winner's partner getting to choose the stipulation for the title match later on. The match between the two was reminiscent of the classic encounters at the start of Nakamura's NXT and WWE careers, but the result was different, as Zayn was able to pull out a win, using brass knuckles following a distracting fight between Owens and Styles on the outside. Owens would then choose a stipulation that allowed Zayn to be at ringside, while Nakamura was banned from the building.
*Seth Rollins & Dean Ambrose d. Bobby Roode & Dolph Ziggler by Pinfall After Dolph Ziggler had allied with former Intercontinental Champion Bobby Roode to take down Seth Rollins for the title, the Architect was seemingly outnumbered. However he called on his old Shield teammates, bringing back a returning from injury Dean Ambrose to take on Roode and Ziggler. The former Shield looked like they hadn't missed a beat, besting the newer team of the IC Champion and the Glorious One after Ambrose pinned Roode following a Paradigm Shift, as Rollins and Ambrose celebrated following the victory.
The Usos [Jimmy & Jey Uso] d. Balor Club [Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows] w/Finn Balor by Pinfall to Retain the World Tag Team Titles On the go-home edition of Smackdown, the Usos had shocked the Balor Club by winning the World Tag Team Titles. This led Gallows and Anderson to cash in their rematch clause right away, setting up a hastily added match to the Summerslam card. Balor Club attacked the Usos before the bell, gaining the upper hand early on, but Jey Uso was able to make the hot tag from his brother Jimmy to clean house. After stopping Finn Balor from interfering, the two Usos eventually hit opposing Superkicks to Gallows and Anderson, before hitting a double Uso Splash on Gallows to pick up the win and retain their newly won titles.
*Cesaro d. Braun Strowman & Bobby Lashley w/Lio Rush by Pinfall to Win the United States Title Bobby Lashley had targeted the United States Champion, Braun Strowman, in an effort to win his first championship since returning to the WWE earlier in the year. However, his quest was altered by Cesaro, who defeated Lashley in a singles match on Raw, causing WWE General Manager Paige to make this match a triple threat contest. After a lengthy back and forth between the two challengers, allowing Strowman to pick his spots, Cesaro went on a tear and delivered a Giant Swing to both Strowman and Lashley in quick succession. Cesaro eventually hit Strowman with a massive powerslam, giving the Swiss Superman a major win and the United Sates Championship.
*Charlotte Flair d. Becky Lynch & Asuka by Pinfall to Win the Women's World Championship This match was initially set to be a Wrestlemania rematch between Asuka and Charlotte Flair, only for Flair to request that her "best friend" Becky Lynch be added to the match as well, following the Irishwoman's countout victory over the Empress of Tomorrow at Summerslam. It soon became apparent that the only reason Charlotte included Becky in the match: to use as a distraction against Asuka. In the end, this distraction would prove vital, as Charlotte rolled up Becky after Lynch seemingly had Asuka beaten with a Uranagi Slam. As Flair celebrated, Becky seemingly accepted this and shook Flair's hand, only to bring her in and hit a Uranagi Slam on the new champion. Becky then locked in the Disarmher out of frustration for her failure to win the title.
*The Wyatt Family [Bray Wyatt, Harper & Rowan] d. The House of Black [Aleister Black, Buddy Murphy & Wesley Blake] by Pinfall Bray Wyatt had reunited with his former Wyatt Family disciples, Harper & Rowan, in order to take on the House of Black in a 6 Man Tag. Both trios battled throughout the arena, but Wyatt's team was able to finally gain some measure of revenge over the Darkfather, as Bray pinned Black following a Sister Abigail's Kiss in the Center of the Ring.
*Ronda Rousey d. Alexa Bliss & Dana Brooke in a Handicap Match by Submission to Win the WWE Women's Championship After Ronda Rousey had failed to capture the WWE Women's Championship at Extreme Rules, Alexa Bliss had sad that the Baddest Woman on the Planet wouldn't get a rematch. This was overruled by WWE General Manager Paige, but Bliss was allowed to choose a stipulation for a rematch. Bliss chose to defend her title in a handicap match with her BFF Dana Brooke by her side. The 2 on 1 advantage didn't help the self-professed goddess of WWE, as Rousey was able to toss Bliss out of the ring and focus on Brooke, locking her in an armbar and getting the submission victory to win her first Women's Championship in WWE.
*Kurt Angle w/Daniel Bryan d. Chad Gable w/Apollo Crews by Submission Kurt Angle had been betrayed by his former pupils within the Angle Academy, Chad Gable and Apollo Crews, as the two had cost him a submission match against the Miz the month before. This led Angle to challenge Gable to a match at Summerslam. In Angle's corner was Daniel Bryan, who agreed to act as his second to offset Apollo Crews' presence in the match. After a back and forth match filled with submissions and suplexes, Angle eventually picked up the win after locking Gable in the Ankle Lock, celebrating with Bryan at the end of the match.
*AJ Styles d. Kevin Owens w/Sami Zayn by Pinfall to Retain the WWE Championship With Shinsuke Nakamura banned from ringside, AJ Styles was facing an uphill battle against Kevin Owens and effectively Sami Zayn as well. Zayn's interference was frequent, almost to a comical fashion, until WWE co-director Triple H finally made his way to the ring and restored order, forcing Zayn to the back. Owens and Styles had a classic back and forth, which Styles was eventually able to pull out the win with a Styles Clash.
*Samoa Joe d. Brock Lesnar w/Paul Heyman by Pinfall to Retain the World Heavyweight Championship Brock Lesnar had defeated Roman Reigns on an episode of Raw to become the new #1 contender to the World Heavyweight Championship, held by Samoa Joe after the Samoan Submission Master had cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase on Reigns the previous month. To somewhat add insult to injury, Stephanie McMahon (who was annoyed by Reigns asking the main event be made a Wrestlemania rematch) appointed Reigns as the Special Guest Referee for the match. Reigns called the match down the middle at first, but when Lesnar seemingly had the match won with the F5, Reigns feigned getting something in his eye and stopped the count. Lesnar argued with the referee, only for Joe to sneak up and lock Lesnar in the Coquina Clutch. As Lesnar passed out, Reigns counted him down twice, before failing to lift the arm a third time. Joe then broke the hold and confronted Reigns, leading to a fight between them. Eventually a fight broke out between all three men, with Reigns attempting to spear Joe, only to hit Lesnar instead. Joe then pinned Lesnar and Reigns counted the fall reluctantly, before continuing to fight with the champion, hitting him with a Spear and then posing with the World Heavyweight Title to close the show.

*Bobby Lashey w/Lio Rush d. Braun Strowman by Pinfall After both men had competed in a triple threat match for the United States Title the previous month, the Monster Amongst Men and the Prime Specimen competed in a titanic clash. In a bruising battle, Lashley eventually defeated Strowman after Lio Rush ate a Running Powerslam for his client. Lashley cut down Strowman with a Spear, picking up the win.
*The Usos [Jimmy & Jey Uso] d. The New Day [Kofi Kingston & Big E] w/Xavier Woods by Pinfall to Retain the World Tag Team Titles After defeating Balor Club, the Usos faced their old rivals The New Day for the World Tag Team Titles. In a back and forth match that saw Kofi Kingston nearly pin both Usos at one point, The Samoans eventually won following an Uso Splash to Kingston from Jey to retain their titles. After the match, both teams shook hands with each other, only to be blindsided by Balor Club, who beat down all five men with aluminum baseball bats, before standing tall afterwards.
*Seth Rollins w/Dean Ambrose d. Dolph Ziggler w/Bobby Roode by Pinfall to Win the Intercontinental Title The feud between Seth Rollins and Dolph Ziggler over the Intercontinental Title reached an impasse, as Rollins challenged the show off to a singles match, with each man flanked by their tag partner. Ambrose kept Roode in check for much of the match, as the two men traded moves back and forth in an even keeled match. In the end, Rollins dodged a fameasser attempt from Ziggler and hit a massive Superkick, before nailing the Curb Stomp to pick up the win and recapture the IC Title, celebrating with a somewhat disinterested Ambrose in the process.
*Daniel Bryan w/Kurt Angle d. Apollo Crews w/Chad Gable by Submission After Chad Gable lost to Kurt Angle the previous month at Summerslam, his tag team partner Apollo Crews blamed the loss on Daniel Bryan being in the corner of Angle, challenging the former WWE Champion to a match at Hell in a Cell. With Angle in his corner to counter Gable, Bryan wrestled circles around the former Intercontinental Champion, but Crews' power proved difficult to deal with once he established an advantage. In the end, Bryan took advantage of a distraction between Angle and Gable (which Angle caused inadvertantly), hitting a low blow on Crews out of nowhere and then locking in the Kiniski Clutch to get the victory.
*AJ Styles d. Shinsuke Nakamura, Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn in a Hell in a Cell Match to Retain the WWE Championship WWE co-director Triple H announced on an episode of Raw that he was tired of the antics of Owens and Zayn and their quest to ruin AJ Styles' run as WWE Champion, so he gave them one last chance to earn the title, putting them in a Fatal Fourway with Styles and Nakamura inside Hell in a Cell, where there would be no more excuses or "evidence of a conspiracy." Despite the danger inherent in the match, Styles had suggested it, and flourished in the environment. In a barnburner of a match, with all four men being busted open at various points, Styles was able to make Owens definitively tap out to a Calf Crusher, retaining his title once more.
*Becky Lynch d. Charlotte Flair by Disqualification [Flair Retains the Women's World Championship] After Becky Lynch violently ended the friendship she had with Charlotte Flair at Summerslam, Flair sought sympathy from the crowd for her plight. However the crowd was firmly on the side of Lynch, who began calling herself "The Man" and challenged Flair to a title match. Becky and Charlotte had an even match throughout the event, only with Lynch starting to gain the upper hand in the end. Before long, Flair knocked out the referee with an "errant kick" and tried to use the Championship belt to gain an advantage, only for Lynch catch her with a Uranagi (titled the Manhandle Slam) and get the pinfall from a second referee. At first it seemed that Lynch had won the Women's World Championship, only for the original referee to reverse the decision, disqualifying Charlotte for the errant kick, but keeping the title on the Queen of WWE.
*Cesaro d. Mustafa Ali by Pinfall to Retain the United States Title Newly crowned United States Champion Cesaro defended his title against former champion, Mustafa Ali, who had been granted the match following an open challenge issued by the Swiss Superman. What followed was a highly athletic match, which Ali nearly won at one point, only to attempt his 450 splash, only for Cesaro to move out of the way. Cesaro then hit the Zurich Bomb to pick up the win and retain the title.
*Ronda Rousey d. Natalya by Submission to Retain the WWE Women's Title In Ronda Rousey's first defense of the WWE Women's Title, she took on veteran Natalya. To the shock of many however, Natalya was no match for the Baddest Woman on the Planet, as Rousey locked her in an Armbar and got her to tap out in less than 90 seconds. Rousey looked bored as she celebrated with her title, only to be confronted on the ramp by Sasha Banks, who motioned that she would be after Rousey's title in the near future.
*Roman Reigns d. Samoa Joe & Brock Lesnar w/Paul Heyman in a Hell in a Cell Match to Win the World Heavyweight Championship Following the events of Summerslam, WWE General Manager Paige agreed to finally settle the issue over the World Heavyweight Championship, booking a Wrestlemania rematch inside Hell in a Cell between Roman Reigns, Samoa Joe and Brock Lesnar. As with the previous Cell match of the evening, there was an uncharacteristic level of violence befitting of the demonic structure, which saw Reigns Spear Lesnar through the cage wall, taking him out of the match. Joe thought he had the match won when he attempted to lock Reigns in the Coquina Clutch, but Reigns was able to fight out of the hold. He then hit two successive Spears on the champion before pinning him, picking up the World Heavyweight Title once again to end the show.
