Mitsuharu Misawa steps into the press conference room and takes a seat as pictures are taken of him as he picks up the mic.
"Hello everyone and welcome to the press conference to confirm all the matches for day 6 of the Champion Carnival that will take place in the Yoyogi National Stadium Gym

The show starts off as per usual with the NTV sports march blasting
  
In a bout that had superb wrestling and great heat, Akira Maeda defeated Yoshihiro Takayama in 7:54 by submission.
Maeda finally gets on the board with a submission win, though ultimately useless as it would take basically everyone losing in a perfect way for him to have a chance to win now.
Rating: 76 B-
  
In an exceptional match, Takao Omori defeated Steve Williams in 13:35 by pinfall with an Axe Bomber.
Even with Omori looking a bit off his game, he still wins another match in less than 15 minutes...
Rating: 82 B
 
In an exceptional match, Toshiaki Kawada defeated Hayabusa in 11:50 by pinfall with a Backdrop Driver.
Kawada continues his lazer focused Carnival with another win against the Junior Champion. He's still a front runner.
Rating: 80 B
 
In a superb match, Takeshi Morishima defeated Vader in 10:08 by pinfall.
Vader was doing great in the early stages but with his losing streak he's became a bottom feeder in the late stages with Morishima keeping himself in the running...
Rating: 73 B-
  In a superb match, Nobuhiko Takada defeated Johnny Ace in 18:24 by stoppage when Johnny Ace could not continue.
Takada basically accidentally knocked out his factionmate with a nasty roundhouse and helped him up after the match as the 2 Sternness boys laughed it off. With Takada showing he's still the higher up in the group...
Rating: 87 B+
 ![]() In an exceptional match, Osamu Nishimura defeated Mitsuharu Misawa in 25:43 by pinfall.
Similar to Kobashi, Misawa just got gassed and actually hit the final move in this bout, nailing a forearm before passing out and getting pinned by Nishimura in one of the weirdest finishes in the tournament...
Misawa was helped up by Nishimura before he stumbled out, refusing any medical help but after such a strong streak. Misawa is taken down by his own willpower.
Rating: 90 A
  In an exceptional match, Akira Taue defeated Yoshinari Ogawa in 20:29 by pinfall with a Nodowa Otoshi.
Ogawa, though not winning much, has been sort of a sleeper hit in this tournament, having another great match here tonight with Taue. Taue stays as a front runner with another great win though.
Rating: 91 A
  In an exceptional match, Minoru Suzuki defeated Owen Hart in 22:41 by submission with a Sleeper Hold.
Once again, Gedo and Jado made a mistake which caused Owen to lash out on them before walking out. Owen has been awful in this tournament and he's startying to project some of that onto Gedo and Jado now...
Rating: 83 B+
  In an exceptional match, Kenta Kobashi defeated Gary Albright in 17:38 by stoppage when Gary Albright was injured and could not continue.
The match was going fine until Gary and Kobashi were fighting on the apron and Gary slipped while punching Kobashi and landed arm first on the apron and then outside.
The medic called the match and gave it to Kobashi as a result, though it should be noted Gary was in control until that point mostly. It's a shame to say the leader of the A Block won't be able to finish the tournament now...
It's also a great shame because Gary and Kobashi showed great chemistry in the bout.
Rating: 87 B+
  In an exceptional match, Tsuyoshi Kikuchi defeated Jun Akiyama in 19:50 by pinfall with a quick cradle.
Kikuchi gets the massive upset over Jun and finally puts himself on the board!!! Before Jun or Sternness could try anything, he got out of there as quick as he won the match.
Jun was livid and started to throw thing around, almost hitting Jumbo and Stan who were at commentary in the process...this obviously annoyed the staff in general as Jun just shrugged it off and walked away with his belts.
Rating: 79 B

That Gary Albright injury: is it legit?

Another great night, even though the main event ended up being mischosen. I'm really feeling for the aces in this, specially Vader and Steve Williams, as Owen seems to be heading to a proper story with dastardly bastards Gedo and Jado. That Gary Albright injury: is it legit? Gary's injury is more kayfabe for a bunch of reasons that I'll get into as we progress in the final days of the tournament. Also make sure to keep an eye out for what some of the Sternness boys do in the finals day of this tournament 😉. |
