Weird finish to this one, full of turns, couldn't even set the sprinters and the leadout man got the win, nobody could sprint. Last time I signup for this race.
VOLTA AO ALENTEJO / LIBERTY SEGUROS Total of 5 stages, totally for sprinters, the way our team is set this are the stages we need to take, despite me prefering heavy climbing, I don't have riders for it. Decided to simulate the first 2 stages because of winning but then I tested without fitness peaks and it isn't so easy after all.

SPONSOR CONFIDENCE
Confidence is really high for the moment, let's see how the next objective goes down as it is another stage win and fitness peaks are over.

Settimana Internazionale Coppi E Bartoli 1996 It's not going to be an easy task as our fitness peaks all ended but will give my best to pull at least a Stage win and maintain our sponsors delighted. The first stage is for the sprinters and I have Samapaio Campos as a bet for this one if the race-day conditions allow us to do something. 3rd place with the leadout as the final turn was really deciding for the race and fitness peaks have a major impact, not sure if I can complete this one objective. A team time-trial for stage 2, I'm really bad at this one so expect me to finish last on this one. A 7th place finish, which is horrendous, but I really don't know how this TTT work. A climbing/hilly finish I'm not particullary good in those I will try something with Rodriguez Gil and maybe Andrego Andrade if I manage to get him to the end. Will go for a breakaway too, have to play all the cards for thiss objective. Got 12th place with Manuel Gil Rodriguez, the pace upfront was too much for him to handle. Need better riders for this type of stages. Another mountain stage the objective is to try and resist the climbs with the sprints and hope for a pack finish for the stage win on a sprint, but it's going to be hard. After the first mountain my plans are out the window as I'm left alone with Rodriguez Gil, so it's another loss for me. Still managed a top 10 but that was it. Last stage and another hill finish, won't try a breakaway so I don't break the AI. Let's see if I manage to pull something off out of this one. I highly doubt it so I will quick simulate. For some odd reason the game broke. Top 3, wasn't so shabby and should be enough to leave our sponsors happy. The exportsdidn't worked correctly so I will post the final results. Klasika Primavera de Amorebieta 1996 We need a top 10 finish and it's going to be very hard to achieve we only have one rider capable of doing so and is Rodriguez Gil. Let's hope on a good race-day condition otherwise we're screwed against such a strong opposition. STAGE CLASSIFICATION Rank | Name | Team | Time |

The stage got to a strong start as the wind played a huge role and split the peloton. Rodriguez Gil was the lone wolf and in a pack finish managed to get a top 25. Which isn't enough, but it was the expected anyway. OBJECTIVES/SPONSOR CONFIDENCE Thank god it wasn't heavily favoured by the sponsors as we failed hardly. Next up is Paris-Camembert objective.

Recap: April/May/JuneMOst of the races were simulated apart from some special occasions where I felt I could do something or take a win here are the highlights that matter. Next up is the Campeonatos de España or the Spanish National Championships where I need a top 10 and I don't know how. TRANSFERS/DOSSIERSThe market only opens in August but we have certain points to allocate to open dossiers in order to increase interest of some riders in our team. The only renovation I have so far is Sampaio Campos. Tried to get the young Santi Blanco but after a month or so he was asking for 44 points, which is too much at the moment. Every 15 days I get 6 points to allocate. Some of the riders increase their cost for talks, Abreu Campos and Rodriguez Gil will probably leave our team, but it is for a greater good I think, since both of them ask too much for negotiations. Let's see how the transfer market goes.

Campeonato de España 1996 We need a top 10 finish in one of the most important objectives in our calendar which doesn't make much sense since we only have one rider from Spain, the lone wolf will have to do it's best to get that top 10 or at least top 25 so we keep our sponsor confidence very high for that increased budget... The tactic will be to try and stay in the front group alone and do something if possible in the end but it's very, very hard. STAGE CLASSIFICATIONRank | Name | Team | Time |

1 | Abraham Olano | Mapei - GB | 5h46'23 | 2 | Luis Perez Garcia | MX Onda | s.t. | 3 | Miguel Indurain | Banesto | s.t. | 4 | Francisco Cerezo | MX Onda | s.t. | 5 | David Etxebarria | O.N.C.E - Look | s.t. | 6 | Prudencio Indurain | Banesto | s.t. | 7 | Melchor Mauri | O.N.C.E - Look | s.t. | 8 | Manuel Rodriguez Gil | Maia - Jumbo - Cin | s.t. | 9 | Herminio Diaz Zabala | O.N.C.E - Look | s.t. | 10 | Oscar Lopez Uriarte | Euskadi | s.t. |
We got a +1 on race-day condition which is a boost to Rodriguez Gil stats, but spanish teams and Abraham Olano, Miguel Indurain and the likes have everything to win the championship. I just need a top 10. As the race approachs the final km's I am on guard duty, waiting for a surprise attack from one of the contenders to try and respond, maybe I can try the descent attack that beat me earlier this season, I don't know how can I take the top 10 in this race. Tried to attack but got immediately answered so I grabbed Olano's wheel and sticked to it and tried the sprint in the end and for my luck I managed the 8th place although, Rodriguez Gil is not a sprinter, he's stamina was still high while others th at had to counter a lot were tired. A great Tpp 10 for the lone wolf. OBJECTIVES/SPONSOR CONFIDENCEI would say that even if I don't manage the top 5 at Cittá di Lugano in Switzerland I have secured myself the 130,000€/month budget. Once I'm secure I will renew with Maia-Jumbo which most likely will unless I have a better proposal in August it's time to grab the calculator and see how much can we afford in the transfer market. Our account is rising nicely for the last couple of months and I intend to maintain it that way, so when we try the jump to Continental Pro, we stay positive. Can also scout for young riders who are likely to develop and sign them on 2\3 years deal so they develop in our team and our average goes up to Continental Pro, cause once we're there the points for proposals rise and we can make an even better team, regens are the best way to play despite having no pictures. Let's see how it goes.

G.P. Cittá di Lugano 1996 We need a top 5 finish, but I don't think it will impact the sponsors that much. I dislike this terrain but will try to stay ahead with the pack and maybe a breakaway with someone on good condition. But I don't have much hope given the competition, it's more to complete calendar than anything else, sponsor objectives were somewhat unrealistic, but let's try you never know. 2nd with Manuel Gil Rodriguez, forgot to export the results.Weird finish, managed to counter attack everyone with Manuel Rodriguez Gil and then used him to lead Azevedo but the turn in the finish didn't let Azevedo take the sprint he wanted but managed 2nd and 3rd place. Both of them had +5 condition for the day, and that was enough. OBJECTIVES/SPONSOR CONFIDENCEWe've managed to secure the 130,000€ per month as the other objectives don't really count for sponsor confidence and negotiations always happen in August, I'm eager to know other sponsor proposals and if they're better I might switch my team. Our max budget is 200,000€ per month with Maia-Jumbo so if there's anything higher I might consider it, despite being so early in the career. Our next objective is in 6 weeks and will just post them for the sake of the diary and realism as they have no impact in our budget for 1997.

SPONSOR FOR 1997We have 3 choices and I'm very inclined to go with Palmans, specially because of their higher max budget. Despite losing 2,000€ per month. Based on jersey and/or budget? And I might have a two riders from Italy joining our ranks and can work on some United States next year. It would remove the squad penalty I'm receiving right now. What's your opinion?
