WWF 1994 "New Generation, Newer Direction" I admittedly take a lot of inspiration from what I read on this forum - and this is exactly the case for this diary. I had the idea while reading @ctfb 's diary, "Rebooking WWF/WWE PPV by PPV (1985 - Present). This diary will see myself booking the World Wrestling Federation, starting from the one of its darkest period - the mid '90s, precisely the year 1994.
The Wrestling Sunrise Report - by Mike Denzel NEW YEAR STARTS WITH SHOCKING NEWS!
January 2nd, 1994 STAMFORD, CT - On a cold January morning, the World Wrestling Federation™ (WWF) finds itself deprived of its owner, Vincent K. McMahon. McMahon was the protagonist of the steroid scandal which shocked the wrestling world in 1992, and was also the major cause for the departure of WWF’s biggest star of that period, Hulk Hogan. Some discrepancies and irregularities have resurfaced from the initial trial, thus further incriminating McMahon. A new trial has been scheduled for early Spring. In the meanwhile, McMahon is expected to step off from his position as CEO of the company.
The Wrestling Sunrise Report - by Mike Denzel MCMAHON OUT! January 4th, 1994 STAMFORD, CT - Following what transpired two days ago, the World Wrestling Federation™ (WWF) has officially taken action to sort out the situation. In a press conference closed to the public, attended by Vincent Kennedy McMahon and other important personalities, McMahon has officially announced that he is stepping off as CEO, effective immediately. As the company begins to reorganize internally, it was confirmed to the press that the events would keep on as scheduled, this referring both to the weekly TV-show, Monday Night Raw®, and non-televised house shows. 1994 has started with lots of internal turmoil for the WWF, as the company has to step up and appoint a new CEO.

Shoot me if you want, but The New Generation wasn't as bad as people claim it was. I'm hyped to see where you're heading and who's the new CEO - if it's not you, of course.

but The New Generation wasn't as bad as people claim it was I didn't experience it in first person because I wasn't even born during those times, but from what I have read and saw, I agree. It's surely a weird era, it was a very different product and that difference is what I would like to highlight in this diary.

WWF Internal Report
MAJOR CHANGES!
January 5th, 1994 To the kind attention of all WWF Staff. Having known him for years, we are thankful for the amazing work done in all these years by - and with - Vincent Kennedy McMahon; a true innovator, the man who single-handedly changed the way wrestling is perceived and looked at nowadays. With that being said, you are all aware of the news that broke out during the last couple of days. Us, WWF internals, had to make a decision, and we had to make it quick. Thus said, we have appointed the new CEO, effective immediately - Gorilla Monsoon. Regarding the booking side of things, a new commission has been formed, with the new head-booker being the recently retired Ted DiBiase. Jack Tunney will now be the new Vice-President, and will also keep his role as the On-Screen President. Sincerely, we thank you all for your patience, and we thank Mr. McMahon once again for all he did for us.

Was Dibiase a booker irl? Not that I'm aware of. He was an on-screen personality, leading his Million Dollar Corporation stable, and then managing fake Taker.

So they handed the booker to someone who's got no prior experience when they need someone to pull them out of the doldrums? I see where you're coming from, ahaha. Sure, it may be a weird choice, but try and see it as a rushed one due to an unexpected emergency - plus, it's fantasy booking after all.
