The Playoff Picture
With only 4 games left in the regular season of the inaugural CIF season, the playoff picture is becoming increasingly clearer.
The Laval Rouge et Or have been ranked at #1 the entire season as they currently hold a 5-0 record, the only undefeated team in the CIF.
The McMaster Marauders hold down the #2 spot and second bye but they are being chased down by the Alberta Golden Bears and Acadia Axemen who all hold the same record and are ranked #3 and #4 respectively. Somethings gotta give in this race for #2 and it will be interesting to see who locks it up in the coming weeks.
The #5 and #6 spots are currently held by the Ottawa Gee-Gees with a 3-2 record and the St. FX X-Men who have a 2-3 record. The X-Men are just above the Saint Mary's Huskies, UNB Reds and UBC Thunderbirds who all hold the same record. The race for the final playoff spot will be intense in the final weeks.
The Toronto Varsity Blues and Concordia Stingers have struggled for most of the season and have a very slim chance at making the playoffs with a 1-4 record but they are not eliminated from contention yet.
The UPEI Panthers currently sit at 0-5 and are officially eliminated from playoff contention. |
