I wonder what direction you're going with the Simmons/Bagwell. I can see Bagwell proving himself worthy, but I can also see Simmons getting upset and turning heel on the poor kid.
Bill Kazmier was even around? Oh well. No big loss.
Luger looks on his way out. It follows real history, but I'm curious what this world would be like with him sticking around WCW.

::::: WCW Saturday Night – Feb. 06, 1992 – St. LouisShown on TBS (US) and WOWOW (JP)
Quick Results: »» 1. Steve Armstrong/Terrence Taylor/Thomas Rich/Tracy Smothers def. Big Josh/Junkyard Dog/Van Hammer/Z-Man – 8 min. – Rich > Hammer – Sitout Suplex Slam (MR: 47); »» 2. Marcus A. Bagwell/Rick Steiner/Ron Simmons/Scott Steiner def. Jimmy Garvin/Michael Hayes/The Diamond Studd/Vinnie Vegas – 9 min. – Bagwell > Garvin – Flash Pin (MR: 53); »» 3. WCW World Tag Team Championships: Arn Anderson & Steve Austin [The Dangerous Alliance] © def. Brian Pillman & Jushin Thunder Liger – 14 min. – Anderson > Liger – Double A Spinebuster (MR: 63); »» 4. Bobby Eaton/Larry Zbyszko/Rick Rude [Dangerous Alliance] def. Barry Windham/Dustin Rhodes/Ricky Steamboat – 12 min. – Zbyszko > Rhodes – Piledriver (MR: 74); »» 5. WCW World Heavyweight Championship: Sting def. Lex Luger © - 9 min. – Diving Crossbody (MR: 77).
Highlights: »» Dusty Rhodes kicked off this super edition of Saturday Night (the last before the beginning of The Crockett Cup) with an announcement: as the reigning champions Arn Anderson and Steve Austin won’t be competing in the tournament, he wanted to challenge them. So, the ‘Dangerous’ duo would be defending the World Tag Team Championships tonight against one of the wildcards of the upcoming tournament. If they lose the belts, they will replace said wildcards in the cup. Austin won’t defend the Television Championship, of course.
»» The York Foundation and The Young Pistols united at the opener to beat their opponents and collect some momentum heading to the tournament. The real highlight came after the match: Ricky Morton confronted The York Foundation one week after falling victim to his former stable. After being outnumbered, however, The Foundation got a surprise: Robert Gibson was back and so were The Rock n’Roll Express, who ran Terrence and Rich off. The former multi-time NWA champions will be in The Crockett Cup.
»» This time, Marcus Alexander Bagwell didn’t waste his chance to impress Ron Simmons. Both, paired with The Steiner Brothers, managed to defeat the combination of The Fabulous Freebirds and The Diamond Mine. And credit to where it’s due, it was Bagwell who picked up the win for his team, surprising Jimmy Garvin with a School Boy pin attempt. After the bell, Ron Simmons, who had some recent beef with The Freebirds, acknowledged Bagwell, accepting to team up with the youngster in The Crockett Cup.
»» While teams keep getting formed ahead of the competition, some old friends keep despising each other. Naturally, Cactus Jack announced that he and Abdullah The Butcher don’t have a chance of teaming up in the cup. Like it even needed to be said… then, Cactus said he was focusing on himself only and on his journey to be the single craziest wrestler in WCW. Sounds like a challenge to his former teammate, doesn’t it?
»» Brian Pillman and Jushin Thunder Liger were the challengers for the Tag Team titles and both will be in The Crockett Cup as wildcards. Or won’t they? They will… as they lost the match. The longest bout of the night saw Anderson and Austin retain the belts against a surprisingly synched team of Light Heavyweight rivals. The most methodical, less wild team won after a dastardly move by Austin, who tried to rip Liger’s mask when the Japanese was up on the top turnbuckle. After tumbling to protect his mask, Anderson caught him with a Double A Spinebuster to win. The bell sounded and Steve Austin still looked pissed. He grabbed a mic and ranted on Dusty Rhodes once again, this time for having to defend either of his belts every single week: «When’s Justin Tumbler Lager’s defending his title, Dusty?», he asked, much to the laughter of Paul E. Dangerously. Arn Anderson, in other hand, tried to calm his partner down.
»» The locker room area was shown. In his own room, the #1 Contender Sting was shown working out, preparing for his big title shot. When footage of Lex Luger was to be shown, however, Harley Race didn’t allow the cameraman to get near the World Champion. Race concluded saying Lex was preparing to beat Sting under 10 minutes. Bold.
»» Bobby Eaton, Larry Zbyszko and the United States Champion represented The Dangerous Alliance against Barry Windham and former champions Dustin Rhodes and Ricky Steamboat. Being a singles belt holder in a multi-man tag match is dangerous, as a pinfall more often than not grants the winner a match for the title. However, Rude handled it, and so did his team. In a great match, Dustin proved to be the weaker link of his team, again due to his relative inexperience. After being distracted by Paul E. Dangerously, he got a Piledriver from Zbyszko to end it all. Afterwards, The Dangerous Alliance worked the mic, talking confidently about their chances in the cup and their future in the WCW landscape.
»» Big Van Vader’s face was shown in a video. Looking as menacing as ever, ‘The Mastodon’ simply shouted: «Wildcards? We’re… CRUSHING!... the whole deck!» And then a bald tattooed head appeared… it was Bam Bam Bigelow and it seemed Bigelow and Vader are heading to The Crockett Cup.
»» Time for the main event. Lex Luger’s first appearance in 1992 and, according to rumors, his last. Would it be? After Harley Race promised that Lex would defeat Sting and retain the WCW World Heavyweight Championship in under 10 minutes, the stakes were even higher. It didn’t happen. Despite an early advantage from Luger’s part, Sting managed to gain some control during the match. He fended off Harley Race’s interference attempts and connected with a Diving Crossbody, successfully pressing Luger’s shoulders to the mat for the three count… under 9 minutes.
»» The St. Louis crowd erupted and so did Sting who added another World Title to his collection. However, before ‘The Stinger’ could be handed the belt by the referee, Harley Race and… of course, Paul E. Dangerously, distracted the new champion. Larry Zbyszko grabbed the belt himself, got inside the ring and, as soon as Sting turned, surprised him with a vicious shot, knocking him out on the mat and spoiling his celebration. Zbyszko issued a challenge for the 21st’s pay-per-view. Of course, he got no answer.

1. Three debuts/returns this past week: what's reserved for Flamingo, Gibson and Bigelow in WCW? Flamingo could have a good mid-card run, Gibson I think the initial york foundation feud might be it for the rock n roll, Bigelow could be a major factor. 2. Is double champion Steve Austin right in his complains about Dusty's treatment? Champions have to defend their titles, if you wanna hold two, gotta do double the work. 3. Is Larry Zbyszko making himself deserving of a title shot after another attack on Sting? No, he's only killing time til Rick Rude take's aim at Sting.

A Vader/Bam Bam alliance has the potential to rip through the entire WCW roster.
Scotty Flamingo is a solid addition to DDP's group now full of potential stars. It'll be fun to see how they work as a group and which members shine.
Zybysko is a good first challenger for Sting. Can present a good challenge for the champ to overcome before moving on.

Quick Results: 1. The Crockett Cup – 1st Round: The Diamond Studd & Vinnie Vegas [The Diamond Mine] def. Brad Armstrong & Johnny B. Badd – 8 min. – Vegas > Armstrong – Snake Eyes (MR: 51); 2. WCW World Television Championship – 10-min. Time Limit: Steve Austin © def. Junkyard Dog – 8 min. – Stun Gun (MR: 53); 3. The Crockett Cup – 1st Round: Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson [The Rock n’Roll Express] def. Marcus A. Bagwell & Ron Simmons – 9 min. – Morton > Bagwell – Diving Double Dropkick (MR: 58); 4. The Crockett Cup – 1st Round: Big Van Vader & Bam Bam Bigelow def. Steve Armstrong & Tracy Smothers [The Young Pistols] – 6 min. – Bigelow > Smothers – Diving Headbutt (MR: 53); 5. The Crockett Cup – 1st Round: Brian Pillman & Jushin Thunder Liger def. Terrence Taylor & Thomas Rich [The York Foundation] – 13 min. – Pillman > Rich – Air Pillman (MR: 71); 6. Bobby Eaton/Jimmy Garvin/Larry Zbyszko/Michael Hayes/Rick Rude def. Dustin Rhodes/Rick Steiner/Ricky Steamboat/Scott Steiner/Sting – 15 min. – Eaton > Steamboat – Flash Pin (MR: 80)
Highlights: »» A winning start for The Diamond Mine in The Crockett Cup: the duo of The Diamond Studd and Vinnie Vegas got a little help from Diamond Dallas Page near the end, who pulled Armstrong’s head towards the top rope to set up for Vegas’ Snake Eyes. They’ll meet The Steiner Brothers next round.
»» Steve Austin asked for his weekly title defense to happen as soon as possible, and he got his wish: Junkyard Dog came out but, ultimately, the veteran couldn’t win the match and the Television Title. Austin beat him with the Stun Gun after 8 minutes as Arn Anderson watched from ringside.
»» The Rock n’Roll Express also advanced to the 2nd Round. However, the duo made up by Marcus Bagwell and Ron Simmons impressed, as both seemed synch and delivered some power-based double teams. Bagwell’s cockiness cost him, though: in the end, he thought he got rid of both Morton and Gibson by throwing them to the outside and posed for the crowd. He ended up being surprised by a Diving Double Dropkick that gave ‘The Express’ their win. After the bell, Simmons confronted Bagwell for costing them the match. As the youngster tried to defend himself as good as he could, for no apparent reason, Abdullah The Butcher appeared in the ring, surprising both men with a big Lariat and stomping them on the mat. The Rock n’Roll Express will meet Bobby Eaton and Rick Rude soon.
»» From a beatdown to another: The Young Pistols got thrashed by the crushing combination of Bam Bam Bigelow and Big Van Vader. Some early efforts from the United States Tag Team Champions weren’t enough and the debuting Bigelow finished Smothers off for good with an impressive Diving Headbutt. As the losers got to their feet, Bigelow and Vader ordered them to leave the ring immediately not to get beat up even further. They did, of course. Former champions, Rhodes and Steamboat are next in line.
»» The rival/ally duo of Brian Pillman and Jushin Thunder Liger worker like charm. In the most evenly contest 1st round affair, the duo beat The York Foundation in a match that featured some faster pace and exciting double team moves by the wild cards. The exclamation point came in the form of an Air Pillman on Thomas Rich. Not even Alexandra York could do anything about that, and Pillman knew it, sending her a kiss when pinning her client. Their 2nd round opponents didn’t wait until the pay-per-view. The Fabulous Freebirds interrupted Pillman and Liger’s celebrations and bullied them for their size, asking them honestly if they think they’ll stand a chance against them. The determination in the light heavyweights’ face spoke for them, and they left the ring with their heads raised high.
»» Before the main event, Sting gave Larry Zbyszko what he wanted. At The Crockett Cup PPV, both men will fight over the WCW World Heavyweight Championship, though, under No Disqualification rules, as that was the condition imposed by the champion. During the big, big 10-man main event melee, the four first seeded teams of the tournament joined Sting and Zbyszko. Both World Championship match participants got too heated with each other, and the crowd was hot each time they met legally or illegally. The less experienced duo of Eaton and Rude looked pretty good. In fact, it was Bobby Eaton who captured the win, in a period where the action spilled to the outside, except for the only two legal men: Eaton and Steamboat. Paul E. Dangerously shook the rope when Steamboat was standing in the turnbuckle and Steamboat confronted him, allowing Eaton to roll him up with his feet on the middle rope. The heated climate didn’t change after the bell and The Steiner Brothers got Paul E. Dangerously inside the ring as The Dangerous Alliance was retreating. To a big pop, a fearing Paul E. received a Diving Double Axe Handle from Steamboat, as well as a Reverse DDT from Sting, as his faction looked on.

1. Pillman & Liger 2. Does Abdullah ever really need a reason? Maybe Bagwell used Abduallah's stabbing fork at dinner time 3. Definitely favors Zbyszko and the Dangerous Alliance. But Sting's not stupid. He has a plan.

::::: WCW Saturday Night – Feb. 20, 1992 – Charleston, SCShown on TBS (US) and WOWOW (JP)
Quick Results: »» 1. WCW World Television Championship – 10-Min. Time Limit: Steve Austin © def. Robert Gibson – 9 min. – Stun Gun (MR: 60); »» 2. Diamond Dallas Page/Scotty Flamingo/The Diamond Studd [The Diamond Mine] def. Brad Armstrong/Johnny B. Badd/Junkyard Dog – 8 min. – DDP > JYD – Diamond Cutter (MR: 48); »» 3. Bam Bam Bigelow def. Big Josh – 6 min. – Diving Headbutt (MR: 51); »» 4. Ricky Steamboat/Ron Simmons/Sting def. Cactus Jack/Lex Luger/Michael Hayes – 14 min. – Sting > Luger – Diving Crossbody (MR: 68); »» 5. Arn Anderson/Larry Zbyszko/Rick Rude [The Dangerous Alliance] def. Barry Windham/Brian Pillman/Scott Steiner – Rude > Pillman – Rude Awakening (MR: 81).
Highlights: »» In an edition of Saturday Night where only one member of each team present in The Crockett Cup competed, it was Paul E. Dangerously who opened the show. The manager of Dangerous Alliance (neck brace and all) complained loudly about Sting’s attack last week, even requesting the champion’s suspension and the awarding of the World Championship to #1 Contender Larry Zbyszko. Dusty Rhodes couldn’t care less, however, blaming karma for Sting’s attack on Dangerously and even suggesting he shouldn’t be at ringside tomorrow night for Sting vs. Zbyszko.
»» He was at ringside for Steve Austin’s title defense, though. ‘Stunning’ Steve beat Robert Gibson of The Rock n’Roll Express in a good opening contest. At the end, Dangerously’s distraction served as a setup for the Stun Gun, allowing Austin to retain without needing a time limit draw. After the match, Dangerously grabbed the mic again to let The Rock n’Roll Express know that Bobby Eaton and Rick Rude will beat them tomorrow and prove the teen idols of the 80s are nothing but washed up in 1992.
»» The Diamond Mine got a good win too. With Vinnie Vegas serving essentially as a bodyguard at ringside, his stablemates beat the trio of Brad Armstrong, Johnny B. Badd and Junkyard Dog. In the end, after an eye rake by Scotty Flamingo, DDP finished the veteran off with a Diamond Cutter.
»» Bam Bam Bigelow had his first singles match in WCW after some highlights of his and Vader’s dominant performance last week. In the fastest match of the night, Bigelow beat Big Josh with a Diving Headbutt. Fair play to Josh for kicking out twice of some other moves before.
»» Before the next star-studded match could take place, Harley Race got the mic. The manager of former World Champion Lex Luger requested a title rematch for his client if he was able to pin Sting tonight. The match itself was a big brawl. Cactus Jack looked a bit uninterested in fighting other people’s battles, though, and didn’t get along with either Luger or Hayes. On the opposing team, Steamboat, Simmons and the World Champion Sting got along just perfectly. The chaos of the late stage of the match proved beneficial to them too, as Abdullah The Butcher lured Cactus Jack to the entrance way before planting him there. Jimmy Garvin sensed trouble for his teammate’s side and tried to interfere, but… Marcus Alexander Bagwell, maybe once again looking to impress Ron Simmons, stopped ‘The Freebird’ from doing so. Sting eventually finished Luger with the Diving Crossbody, letting him and Race know there’s no title shot for ‘The Narcissist’. After the match, Abdullah The Butcher slid to the ring to try to prove there was no one crazier than him in WCW and targeted Marcus Bagwell. Ron Simmons took care of business, hitting the mad man with a huge Spinebuster. Then, Dustin Rhodes joined the four men (Bagwell included) in the celebrations.
»» The main event was indeed the best bout of the night. All six members of The Dangerous Alliance were present, either wrestling or at ringside. However, neither Eaton nor Austin interfered in the match. Rick Steiner was also at the corner of his brother’s team. The bout was very good, Rude being the MVP, having some great bits with everyone, but Pillman in particular. #1 Contender Larry Zbyszko divided his time between showcasing technical wizardry and playing it to the crowd and delivering messages to Sting. Paul E. Dangerously loved it. Near the end, there was finally a Dangerously distraction. However, no non-sense Rick Steiner intimidated Paul just by looking at him. Loud mouthed Austin provoked Steiner, but nothing else happened. In the ring, Rick Rude ultimately got the win over Brian Pillman after ‘Flyin’’ hit a turnbuckle previously exposed by Zbyszko to setup for the Rude Awakening. After the bell… well, there was chaos. Both teams were having a heated confrontation and Zbyszko sneaked a wooden chair to the ring. There, he targeted Barry Windham but… Sting’s song began to play. Rather than retreating, Zbyszko threw the chair away and traded fists with ‘The Stinger’. The brawl ended at ringside, when Dangerously’s “cowardly courage” showed, smashing Sting in the head with his telephone. Dusty Rhodes got off the commentary table and then punished Paul E. Dangerously, turning his previous suggestion into an effective measure: Paul is banned to be in Larry Zbyszko’s corner tomorrow during his clash with Sting.
