WWE Royal Rumble 29.01.2022 St. Louis, MO
1. WWE US Title: Sami Zayn (c) def. Sheamus (w/ Bayley) (12 mins) Zayn is doing a good job with the belt and gradually stepping away from the role of the underdog, but here he is facing possible one of the biggest bullies he ever encountered, so Sheamus literally dares him to fight and the odds are always against Zayn. Zayn keeps getting momentum, even though Sheamus cheats and does all he can to stop the opponent. However, Sheamus misses the celtic cross and Zayn quickly rolls him up to win the match
2. WWE Raw Tag Titles: Cedric Alexander & Shelton Benjamin (c) (w/ MVP) def. Rey Mysterio & Dominik Mysterio (w/ Zelina Vega) (10 mins) Around this time Dominik started being a mediocre wrestler at least, it's a quite protected environment so let's give him a shot in the ring against 3 performers that would know what to do in all cases. It's also a fresh dynamic, we can get promos about him and Rey Rey dreaming to be tag champions etc. The Judgment Day gets involved and Rey Rey dives on them, so Alexander hits Dominik with the lumbar check and pins him to retain 3. WWE World Title: Roman Reigns (c) (w/ Paul Heyman) def. Big E (13 mins) Blowoff of the feud, also because as we know E is getting injured soon and has to either retire or take a very long break. For months, New Days vs. Bloodline has been a thing and, instead of Kofi, E has been the one to stand out for his group and lead the team to victory in their multimen matches. Both Lesnar and Goldberg interfere to stop the Usos from getting involved, while in the ring E hits the big ending for a 2 count. Reigns comes back and hits the spear to barely retain
4. WWE Title No Holds Barred Match: Edge (c) (w/ Rhea Ripley) def. Randy Orton (15 mins) We know what we got here. Edge crushed his frenemy's World Title dream by cashing in the MITB and warned him that never had to trust him in the first place, then criticizing Orton for his views on the new generation, as Edge thinks that the Judgment Day is the only future of wrestling. Orton proves all of his determination and refuses to stay down, kicking out after the spear, but then it's 3v1 and a final spear through a table puts him down for the pinfall, so Edge keeps the title
5. Royal Rumble Match: AJ Styles wins by last eliminating Seth Rollins (55 mins) RAW: Angelo Dawkins, Bad Bunny, Chad Gable, AJ Styles, Montez Ford, Riddle, Austin Theory, Bobby Lashley, Damian Priest, Dolph Ziggler, Finn Balor, Kevin Owens, Robert Roode, Seth Rollins, The Miz SD: Brock Lesnar, Drew McIntyre, Hanson, Rowe, Kofi Kingston, Ricochet, Angel Garza, Jinder Mahal, Claudio Castagnoli, Humberto Carrillo, Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso, Mustafa Ali, Shinsuke Nakamura and Xavier Woods Bad Bunny returns here, he gets in the ring with Lashley who makes fun of him but, after Lesnar hits him, Bunny eliminates Lashley and Lashley reacts by coming back to take Bunny out. Priest and Balor work together and do really well, but then AJ and Lesnar eliminate them. Lesnar seems the man of the match, eliminating Claudio among others, but the Bloodline manages to throw him over the top rope and Lesnar is furious. Owens gets #1 as a punishment for his behaviour and commentates the match, leaving every now and then to wrestle and then go back, but he buries everyone else on commentary and so the other wrestlers throw him out altogether. Final four: #7 McIntyre, #18 Styles, #23 Rollins and #29 Nakamura. Nakamura and Drew continue their feud and end up costing each other the match. It's down to AJ and Rollins, the old rivals and Becky tries to get involved, but AJ kicks his former valet in the face and then eliminates Rollins with a back body drop to win the Rumble

WWE Elimination Chamber 19.02.2022 Not in Saudi Arabia 1. Elimination Chamber Match: Edge, Finn Balor & Damian Priest (w/ Rhea Ripley) def. AJ Styles, Rey Mysterio & Randy Orton (w/ Zelina Vega) (30 mins)
With Edge vs. AJ now official for 'Mania, it's time for Judgment Day to meet the babyfaces here and give us what would have been a hell of an opening match. Not only Edge vs. AJ, as Mysterio is still feuding with Balor after the latter turned on him, plus Orton and Edge just had a heated title match at the previous PPV. Going into 'Mania, it's good for the heels to look as strong as possible and so, even by cheating, they dominate the match and win with a shocking 3-0. AJ endures all the pain he can, but at the end he's by himself and Edge spears to eliminate him and win
2. The Usos & Sheamus (w/ Paul Heyman and Bayley) def. Sami Zayn, Xavier Woods & Kofi Kingston (10 mins) A bit of rest for the crowd, even though the guys involved here are quite over and so we should have enough interest around the match. We get Usos vs. New Day again, but the focus is elsewhere because Zayn seems jealous of the crowd supporting the New Day after all he did. Zayn leaves the match after slapping Kofi and Jimmy Uso pins Woods with a Samoan drop, thus winning a tag titles shot
3. Defy Or Deny Match: Kevin Owens def. Apollo Crews, Seth Rollins (w/ Becky Lynch) and Bobby Lashley (w/ MVP) (12 mins) I did this the previous year too: the winner gets a match of his choosing at 'Mania (unless the match is already set), while the loser can't get on the card. Yeah, quite obvious that Crews drops the fall here, but I literally don't have anyone else on the roster. Rollins keeps showing instability and Lashley is deeply involved in a program with Pat McAfee (too early to talk about it), but Owens is a rebellious mess as usual and wins the match with a powerbomb on Crews. So Owens gets to choose his 'Mania opponent now...
4. WWE World Title Street Fight Match: Roman Reigns (c) (w/ Paul Heyman) def. Goldberg (5 mins) I know that it wasn't great, but it's Goldberg's retirement match as of today and it will anyway because I did all I needed to do with him and won't bring him back regardless. Of all the matches he could do, this is the one I'd run because Reigns is a heel, it's spear vs. spear, Heyman and Reigns can cut a promo on Goldberg being too much of a coward in front of his son etc. It doesn't need more than a few minutes, Reigns spears Goldberg before his opponent can and wins the match
5. WWE Raw Tag Titles: The Street Profits (w/ Bianca Belair) def. Cedric Alexander & Shelton Benjamin (c) (w/ MVP) (8 mins) A bit of a breather before the main event, but also a little surprise because titles rarely change hands just a bit before 'Mania, but here they do. The Profits have previously refused to join the Hurt Business and MVP keeps berating them, but when they get a title shot it's a big problem for Alexander and Benjamin. Ford rolls up Benjamin and so the Profits regain the titles
6. #1 Contender Elimination Chamber: Brock Lesnar def. Big E, Drew McIntyre (w/ Charlotte), Shinsuke Nakamura (w/ Sonya Deville), Claudio Castagnoli and Ricochet (27 mins) The winner faces Reigns, so you pretty much know who's going to win. McIntyre and Nakamura are still feuding and, once again, they end up costing each other the match. Ricochet has a few nice spots in the chamber, but he doesn't get to win either. Much love to Claudio, but it's his last PPV and so he can be fed to Lesnar. We get down to Lesnar vs. E and, with E's recent push and feud with Reigns, hopefully somebody would pull for E and support him. However, not only Reigns vs. Lesnar deserves a blowoff, but this is E's last PPV match to date too, so Lesnar wins with the F5 and goes to 'Mania

WWE WrestleMania 38 Day 1 02.04.2022 Arlington, TX
1. Damian Priest (w/ Rhea Ripley) def. Randy Orton (13 mins) The feud between Orton and Judgment Day can bring us to this match, giving Priest a nice 'Mania opportunity and keeping Orton on the card as well. He gets injured shortly after and is not back as we speak, so this might be his last match (or at least his last one as a "regular") and he has a chance to put Priest over, again facing one of those youngsters than he first fought and then praised. Rhea gets involved and Priest uses the reckoning for the most important victory in his career so far
2. WWE US Title: Xavier Woods def. Sami Zayn (c) (11 mins) Zayn turned heel for the first time in his WWE career, resenting the fans for not supporting him despite all of his sacrifices and siding with New Day when they faced off or teamed up. We know what Zayn is going to do soon, so he can drop the US Title to set himself free and this also gives some recognition to Woods, getting some singles gold after years as a tag team wrestler. Zayn enjoys not being the underdog, but he's too arrogant and Woods rolls him up for the title change
3. WWE Raw Tag Titles: The Street Profits (c) def. Cedric Alexander & Shelton Benjamin (w/ MVP) (7 mins) Easily the least important and hyped match on the card, but it keeps the tag division alive and it gives space to a few solid competitors, so let's do it. As mentioned other times, the Profits are getting credit as babyfaces for turning down the offer of joining the Hurt Business, but this time they are tempting Bianca too and she doesn't seem too sure. She is not at ringside for some weird reason, but anyway Ford hits the cash-out on Alexander to retain the titles
4. Chain Match: Drew McIntyre (w/ Charlotte) def. Shinsuke Nakamura (w/ Sonya Deville) (15 mins) A blowoff that would hopefully be heated and can put a few asses on the seat, as this is the culmination of several months of program. While we get close to 'Mania, Deville says that for Nakamura this is personal, because fans accepted Drew on his comeback despite his failures on the first run, while they never forgave him for not winning the title when he joined and they still refuse to cheer for him. For McIntyre, anyway, the beef is personal as it costed him a few title shots. McIntyre blocks the bomaye and hits the claymore kick to win the match
5. Bobby Lashley (w/ MVP) def. Pat McAfee (10 mins) I get why wants to involve McAfee in the ring, and he didn't even do that bad, but he needs a heel to lead the match and make him sympathetic for the fact that "he's just an announcer", before we can actually get surprised by his abilities. We can use all the tricks in the book: McAfee shoots on Lashley on his podcast, Lashley invades it to attack him "on the air", McAfee talks about Lashley trying for football when he was a teenager and failing etc. Bianca also checks on McAfee on a Raw episode and cheers for him, but here she turns and joins Lashley, so Lashley can spear McAfee through a table to pin him
6. Cody Rhodes def. Seth Rollins (w/ Becky Lynch) (20 mins) Yeah, this was pretty great. Rollins keeps having a crisis due to lack of gold and consideration, both from the fans (used to be the top babyface) and the office (used to be the Authority's chosen one). This gets him to be a bit unstable, together with Becky, to the point of issuing an open challenge for 'Mania. I mean, everybody knew about Cody and it's fine, you can't change it and you shouldn't really because it worked really well. Rhodes comes back to a standing ovation and they take each other to the limit, with Cody winning after the cross rhodes
7. WWE World Title Hell In A Cell Match: Roman Reigns (c) (w/ Paul Heyman) def. Brock Lesnar (w/ Ronda Rousey) (12 mins) I insist on the fact that the mixed reviews around this were based on the fact that the WWE abused this pairing, because the story itself is great: Lesnar loses and disappears, so Heyman needs to find another family and forms the Bloodline with Roman, they dominate but Lesnar comes back and he struggles to get a title shot until he finally gets to have one. Lesnar wants to destroy Heyman due to his betrayal and also Reigns, just because the man that created him dares to think that Reigns is the new big thing. They shouldn't have a long one and the HIAC is good to keep the Bloodline out of the ring and give importance to the match. Also, Ronda is back so she joins Lesnar as a way to stop Heyman and she also kicks him in the face at the show. However, Reigns injuries Lesnar's hand (like Lesnar did to Taker in 2002) and uses his weakness to stop the F5, so he spears Lesnar and pins him to retain

WWE WrestleMania 38 Day 2 03.04.2022 Arlington, TX
1. Ricochet def. Pete Dunne (15 mins) Like the year before, Ricochet doesn't have a featured program for 'Mania, but makes it on the card anyway to give somebody his PPV debut on this big stage. Dunne is mature enough, I like the idea of having Sheamus with him, but Butch is such a silly name. They wrestled a couple of times before and always tore the house down, they should do the same here. Ricochet stops the brainbuster and hits the 450 splash to win the match
2. WWE IC Title Ladder Match: Finn Balor (c) (w/ Rhea Ripley) def. Rey Mysterio (w/ Zelina Vega) (17 mins) Blowoff on the greatest stage, Balor and Mysterio can face off one on one. I continue to believe that Rey Rey should have been used better in the recent few years, focusing a lot on dream matches, like this one. I forgot to mention it, but Balor has embraced his full demon persona since joining the JD (for the first time ever) and this helps him being more reckless. Zelina stops the usual Rhea interference, they both climb the ladder and Balor gets the belt before Mysterio to retain
3. WWE Smackdown Tag Titles: The Usos (w/ Paul Heyman) def. The Viking Raiders (c) (w/ Shotzi) (7 mins) After two good and quick matches, this needs to be a quick and effective slugfest to keep a good pace. The Raiders do well and dominate their opponents, but we can see that the Usos know each other much better and find a lot of chemistry that helps them along the way. Jimmy hits Rowe with a belt and he doesn't go down, but Jey then also superkicks him and pins the opponent for the title change
4. WWE Title: AJ Styles def. Edge (c) (w/ Rhea Ripley) (23 mins) Yes, I am keeping this match and I liked it. Edge is the leader of JD, dark and obsessed with the title, while AJ is pretty much the top babyface. Edge says that he was at home, consuming himself about his career ending injury, and what drove him to come back (apart from the title) was AJ's risk taking approach: he was jealous about him being out of action, while somebody not at talented as him was stealing the show. AJ respects what Edge did in his career, but is here to get the title. They go to the distance, AJ stops the spear with a pele kick and hits the styles clash to win the belt
5. Logan Paul & Austin Theory def. Bad Bunny & Kofi Kingston (12 mins) I've said it already, not really a fan of the celebrity matches, but both Paul and Bunny are quite athletic and not selfish in the ring (apart from popular, which is the main thing you need from them). At this point, let's have them feud with each other and create an inter-promotional program. Bunny is the babyface and tags with Kingston, while Paul tags with Theory, who can debut with decent heat. Theory pushes Bunny off the top rope and Paul uses the frog splash to win
6. Sheamus (w/ Bayley) def. Tommaso Ciampa (8 mins) Like the opener, not a match that comes from a long program, as the roster didn't give me many alternatives. Ciampa is floating around and quite a familiar face with the fans at this point, he can have a short match with Sheamus here and still look good despite losing the match. Dunne gets to ringside to watch Sheamus's back too and Sheamus hits the celtic cross on Ciampa to get the pinfall
7. No Holds Barred Match: Steve Austin def. Kevin Owens (14 mins) The location was perfect and also the opponent. After winning the defy or deny, Owens reveals that his desired 'Mania opponent is Steve Austin and threatens to hijack 'Mania if he doesn't get his wish. Austin has been critical of Owens in the previous months on his podcast, saying that he's a Stone Cold wannabe and trying to get attention breaking the rules that he already broke in his prime. We can get Vince or whoever to go on the Austin podcast and beg him to come back, but Austin refuses as he retired almost 20 years before. Then Owens does an Austin podcast parody or whatever, so Austin fires back and starts training, saying that he needs to save 'Mania in Texas and kick Owen's ass. Let's just announce the match, without the confrontation swerve, Austin doesn't appear on Raw or anything and so he gets a monster pop on his comeback. The match was good too, Owens proves he's a real threat, but he's too cocky and Austin hits a stunner to win the match. Vince arrives to congratulate Austin and he gets a stunner as well

That's all folks!
For now, at least. The 2022-23 season will be posted shortly after 'Mania 40, to keep the hindsight spirit of the whole project
