Welcome to King Of The Ring week. Quarter final matches begin on Monday Night June 06 @ the Resch Center, Green Bay, Wisconsin. The tournament continues on Friday Night June 10 when SD! emanates from Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
The tournament concludes on Sunday Night June 12 as Wichita, Kansas will host the semi final's and final of the KOTR.
The winner of the tournament will receive a WWE Championship match sometime over the summer. The current WWE Champion as of Monday, June 06, 2022 is Roman Reigns.
The brackets are shown below. This is a by invitation only tournament.
The selection of this years participants was based on the following factors:
* Age
* In ring ability
* In ring experience
* past & current achievements
* recent form
* any other "special credit"
Time limit for matches:
Quarter Finals: 15 minutes
Semi Finals: 30 minutes
Final: 60 minutes
Monday Night Raw live
Notes: Intercontinental (IC) Champion Ricochet is allowed one partner to assist him for his quarter final match against Bobby Lashley. Mr. McMahon orders "Theory" to get ready for later tonight.
Interview: Bobby Lashley intends to regain the "WWE Championship" ; if that involves going through his friend Ricochet & "Theory", so be it. A cool & confident Ricochet interrupts the promo (reader to fill the blank).
8 p.m.: Match 1: 1 vs 2 : Bobby Lashley vs Intercontinental Champion Ricochet & U.S. Champ "Theory" (must tag)
Result: Bobby Lashley unable to defeat either Ricochet or "Theory" during the bout. Ricochet landed some nice blows & wins the contest on referee's points decision. Theory hung in there. Ricochet progresses to the semi finals on Sunday. (15 minutes)
-Commercial Break-
Not before 8:30 p.m. Riddle vs Robert Roode
Backstage: MVP boasts about Bobby Lashley's failure to advance to the Semi- Final stage of the KOTR tournament; meanwhile "Theory" runs off to see Vince McMahon in his office. Vince congratulates "Theory" on his debut performance in the tournament.
"Theory" asks if he could also partner "Ricochet" on Sunday. Vince dodges the question (Vince McMahon does his stick here).
8:45 p.m. Match 2: Robert Roode def. Riddle by pinfall via an inverted DDT. (12:30)
Author's note: Robert Roode made his entrance without music or robe.
