Highlights:
»» It seems like Tsuruta-gun will walk into the Junior Crown League getting in Naoki Sano’s face. Neither Fuchi, Ogawa or Sano were involved in the finish of their match, however, Yoshinari Ogawa couldn’t help but to taunt the Jr. Heavyweight Champion after the match, stating he’ll also be standing tall after their clash in the 1st League Round.
Fun fact: in the opener, Minoru Tanaka pinned Satoru Asako (Tsuruta-gun’s rookie) using… Sano’s finishing move.
»» Dean Malenko will be heading to the League with momentum by his side, it seems. He was able to submit lucha legend Negro Casas with his Texas Cloverleaf to win the match for his team.
»» The main event was a bit shorter than the usual. In a massive clash between two 4-man teams consisting of two duos, it was the weasel-ish Eddie Gilbert to get the pinfall victory against Johnny Ace. Not with the Hot Shot DDT, but with a flash pin: the School Boy. Whatever works, right? And, of course, ‘Hot Stuff’ couldn’t help but to get on Ace and Misawa’s face following the win. Until Stan Hansen told him to stop, of course.

Highlights:
»» It was a completely off the norm show for AJPW. The tag teams for the Real World Tag League were all separated and their members forced to work together with rival teams. That meant Mitsuharu Misawa was in the third match of the card, while Chris Youngblood was in the main event… on the winning side nonetheless.
»» After the opener, which ended with Richard Slinger tapping out to Masanobu Fuchi’s STF, The Great Sasuke and Ultimo Dragon, who will meet in the 1st Round of the Junior Crown League, had a face-off that evolved onto a surprising fast-paced hybrid-style sequence ending with a stare. The fans were in awe.
»» Yoshinari Ogawa will think twice about taunting Naoki Sano again… or he won’t, as he’ll probably never learn. Sano beat Ogawa with a Sole Kick to get the win for his team, showing the belt to his 1st Round rival afterwards. In the losing team, Perro Aguayo and Sabu had some attrition again, both having to be held back again after the match.
»» Mitsuharu Misawa got the win for his team in no more than 10 minutes. After doing it, he realized Steve Williams is probably in the contention line for his Triple Crown Heavyweight Championship, no matter what happens in the RWTL, so he stared at him before offering his hand for Williams to shake. He did.
»» Terry Gordy, on the other hand, continues to prove being one of the loosest cannons of AJPW at this point. After winning the match for his team, he hit Joel Deaton (his partner) with a Lariat. Stan Hansen, the other member of the team, shoved Gordy, who shoved him back before leaving an angry Hansen behind.
»» The main event ended with a nice moment, with all the winning team’s members teaming up to beat and pin Giant Warrior after a Tomahawk by Chris Youngblood, a Moonsault by Kenta Kobashi and a Diving Senton by Unified Tag Team Champion, Dan Kroffat.
After the match, and speaking of loose cannons… Terry Funk grabbed Youngblood, hitting him with a quick Piledriver before leaving, with Kroffat and Kobashi, joined by Mark Youngblood, checking up on Chris.

AJPW Recap from the Road:
»» The NJPW G1 Climax ended in August 21st, 1992. A major success overall, it reached its peak earlier in the league matches. In the finals, Big Van Vader won the trophy, defeating Hiroshi Hase to do so.
»» Also in the G1 Climax, Seiji Sakaguchi wrestled his final match. Just some days later, he announced that he was opening a training facility: The Sakaguchi Dojo, meaning that the already-stacked Japanese wrestling landscape will have yet another source of talent.
»» In the United States, WWF held one of his biggest shows of the year: Summerslam. Taking place in August 28th, the pay-per-view featured a huge double main event: Randy Savage beat Hulk Hogan in a No Holds Barred match, while the WWF World Championship was successfully defended by ‘The Million Dollar Man’ Ted DiBiase, against Sid Justice.
»» Another bright prospect graduated from the AJPW Dojo: Jun Akiyama is now part of the AJPW roster!
