This is great storytelling. Misawa's fate is now in Kobashi's hands, right while he faces the man that Kobashi couldn't beat and costed him the tournament

Once again, we're on a hiatus. I'm now the social media manager of my municipality and I'm also teaching Creative Writing to 3rd and 4th graders. Until probably the end of the year, this will have to wait. But I'm loving how it is turning out, so... I hope you are too and I hope you can still like it some months from now! Sorry...

Show Rating: 71 Non-Tournament Highlight:Tsuruta-gun beat the competition in the third non-tournament match of the night. However, current AJPW World Jr. Heavyweight Champion Masanobu Fuchi wasn’t satisfied with the win and lured Naoki Sano to the ring with a 3-on-3 attack against the losers. Sano came to aid and Tsuruta-gun left the ring. On April 13th, in the Champion Carnival Finale, Fuchi defends against Sano. B Block Recap: X B Block Match Akira Taue vs. Mighty InoueNobody is expecting Inoue to grab any points at this stage of the Carnival. And Taue left no room for surprises, dominating and manhandling the experienced grappler all over the ring for six minutes. A Nodowa Otoshi ended the match. Akira Taue [8] over Mighty Inoue --- 6 min. X B Block Match Bret Hart vs. Johnny SmithEveryone shows up against Hart, either because they recognize the Canadian as one of the best technical wrestlers around and want to be a match, or because they want to make the Puroresu fans proud against one of WWF’s best. This bout was a great technical affair, with Johnny Smith proving those who label him ‘underrated’ as being right. The ending was pretty good, coming in a moment when the British wrestler was having momentum by his side: he tried a Powerbomb, but Hart rolled (Sunset Flip-style) and then stood up, grabbing Smith’s legs for the Sharpshooter. Enduring too much pain, Smith tapped out. Bret Hart [10] over Johnny Smith [2] --- 16 min. X B Block Match Doug Furnas vs. Toshiaki KawadaOfficially eliminated from contention after Bret Hart’s win moments ago, Toshiaki Kawada was pissed off – well, more than usual. But Doug Furnas is no man to be scared by that. In fact, Furnas knocked Kawada off his feet as soon as the bell rang, which got Kawada fuming. During the match, however, ‘Dangerous K’ got multiple waves of control and his stiffness made every fan cringe and admire the resiliency of Furnas sometimes. The gaijin was close to pulling an upset at the later stages of the match, with a Frankensteiner. But ultimately, Kawada was on the verge of knocking Furnas out with an array of kicks. After a precise Roundhouse Kick, Furnas was on his last legs. All it took then was a Spike Brainbuster to finish the match. Toshiaki Kawada [8] over Doug Furnas [2] --- 15 min. X B Block Match Jumbo Tsuruta vs. Terry GordyThis main event was promising and both men needed a win. Particularly Gordy who’d be eliminated if he was on the losing end of the match. And fresh off a AWWA Global Open Championship win, Tsuruta really had to fear Gordy’s momentum. A colossal battle started the match and we saw some more throughout. Gordy won most of them, as he was almost always able to counter the former champion’s power moves, mostly because of his size. Actually, the double champion was close to getting the win after a big Running Powerslam, but the leader of Tsuruta-gun kicked out at two. Then, the control shifted multiple times before the climax. After 16 minutes, Tsuruta went for a big Powerbomb. Not able to lift Gordy that time, he hit him with a stiff High Knee before hitting the Backdrop Driver to end the match. Jumbo Tsuruta [10] over Terry Gordy [8] --- 16 min.»» Jumbo Tsuruta then grabbed a microphone. He knew instantly that the B Block would be decided in the last day between himself and Bret Hart in the main event. So… he called Bret out. Disrespectfully, Tsuruta said: «Bret, it’s going to be me and you as I face the bigger test I’ve faced in this Carnival – the table says so. However, you lost to Terry [Gordy] and I’ve just laid him out on the canvas. You are no match for me yet!» Bret Hart came to the ring and butted heads with Tsuruta, before saying «May the best man win.» The two shook hands, even though Tsuruta didn’t look pleased to do so.
Prediction Contest - Results:1. marc91 - 7/8 2. Asaemon - 4/8 *both Day 11 and 12 are counted together

Finally I can say I'm able to come back. And I love to be able to say that because I was loving this diary. My life changed completely in a couple of months, and I'll have loads of working coming soon, but I'll try to find time to cope with this diary. Until then, I'll definitely post a few shows (without commiting to an exact amount per week). I'm taking this thing serious, so... idk... maybe I can be in contention for January's DOTM? Heh? Cheers, guys!

AJPW Champion Carnival Day 13 (B Block) April 5th 1992 Kyoto, Japan – Attendance: 10,000 Complete Results:- Match #1: Satoru Asako & The Great Sasuke def. Fire Cat & Minoru Tanaka --- Sasuke > Tanaka (Michinoku Driver) --- 7 min. [54];
- Match #2: Al Perez & Giant Warrior & The Funk Brothers def. Mitsuo Momota & Rusher Kimura & The Fantastics --- Funk > Momota (Texas Piledriver) --- 8 min. [63];
- Match #3: Kazuo Yamazaki & Naoki Sano def. Dean Malenko & Yoshinori Ogawa --- Yamazaki > Malenko (Cradle Pin) --- 10 min. [60];
- Match #4 – A Block: Johnny Ace [6] def. Giant Kimala [2] --- (Ace Crusher) --- 9 min. [53];

- Match #6 – A Block: Mitsuharu Misawa [11] def. Dan Kroffat [4] --- (Tiger Driver ‘91) --- 12 min. [79];
- Match #7 – A Block: Stan Hansen [12] def. Kenta Kobashi [7] --- (Western Lariat) --- 23 min. [88].
Show Rating: 83 Non-Tournament Highlight:»» Naoki Sano teamed with Kazuo Yamazaki in a winning effort against Dean Malenko and Tsuruta-gun’s Yoshinori Ogawa. The no-nonsense attitude of Malenko pissed off Ogawa, who refused a tag-in that led to Yamazki pinning Malenko. After the bell, Malenko, Sano and Yamazaki were leaving the ring when Masanobu Fuchi and Motoshi Okuma attacked #1 contender Sano, with Ogawa joining the attack. After a brief moment, Malenko and Yamazaki managed to save Sano and run the gun off. A Block Recap: X A Block Match Giant Kimala vs. Johnny AceThe ‘Botswana Beast’ (not to be confused with the ‘Ugandan Giant’) had a last chance of adding two more points to his disappointing tournament. He failed, with Johnny Ace conquering the crowd and the win, after his stamina topped Kimala’s wildness. With an Ace Crusher, he won the match. Johnny Ace [6] over Giant Kimala [2] --- 9 min. X A Block Match Dan Spivey vs. Steve WilliamsCertainly not two fan favorites, but instead two that the fans take very well into consideration. The former Skyscraper Spivey set the tone early on, pummeling ‘Dr. Death’ and getting into a wild war that he didn’t know if he could even win. The two battled in the ring and out of it, with Spivey actually sending Williams over the guardrail with a Big Boot at one point. At the end of the hoss fight, the crowd was on fire. Williams won with a big Backdrop Driver. Steve Williams [8] over Dan Spivey [6] --- 13 min. X A Block Match Dan Kroffat vs. Mitsuharu MisawaAn incredible battle. Misawa had a task: defeating Kroffat and hope for Kobashi’s win in the main event. But Kroffat would never make it easy for Misawa. Mutual respect was always present in the match – one of the most sound of the tournament in what comes to the technical aspect. In fact, near the middle of the match, Kroffat was close to finishing Misawa with a move both share: the Tiger Driver. But Misawa raised his hand at two and a half. That changed Misawa’s stance, he became more aggressive, trying to win with a Discus Elbow Smash, and a Diving Crossbody before deciding to resort to his uber-finisher, the Tiger Driver ’91, which sealed the deal sooner, rather than later. The two shook hands afterwards. Now, Misawa has to wait for Hansen’s loss in the main event. Mitsuharu Misawa [11] over Dan Kroffat [4] --- 12 min. X A Block Match Kenta Kobashi vs. Stan HansenThe ultimate test for Kenta Kobashi so far. By winning, he would make the Super Generation Army’s lead advance to the Champion Carnival Finale. A draw would also suffice. By losing, AJPW Triple Crown Heavyweight Champion Stan Hansen is advancing. Although sometimes more aggressive, this time Hansen was way more careful from the get-go, knowing very well than the underdog is no short of a threat. The power advantage was on his side, but Kobashi really wanted to give Misawa a present and his chops took a toll on Hansen’s barrel chest. By the middle of the match, the pace began to get faster, and when Kobashi’s Sunset Flip Powerbomb got a two count, he quickly got to the top rope to hit a Moonsault for another two. The crowd was, of course, fully on the ‘Orange Crush’s side. Hansen began getting progressively tired, and that seemed to be a major problem, as Kobashi was fresher, although having multiple 15+ minute matches in recent weeks. After a series of chops and kicks, Kobashi went to the ropes but was met with a last resort Lariat by Hansen. 1…2… but Kobashi’s hand was up. Hansen couldn’t believe as sweat dripped from his forehead and mustache. Then, he raised Kobashi for another, but Kobashi ducked, hitting a Burning Lariat of his own. 1…2… but no! The clock was ticking and 20 minutes were gone. After a while, Hansen was struggling, but Kobashi was getting tired too and none would give up. The champion’s big moves were his only weapons at this point, and a Big Boot knocked Kobashi off his feet. A Powerbomb followed. 1…2… «Not again…», thought Hansen. He quickly lift the younger wrestler: Western Lariat. One more: Western Lariat! 1…2…3! It’s done… Hansen advances to the Finale. Stan Hansen [12] over Kenta Kobashi [7] --- 23 min.»» After the match, Stan Hansen got his hand raised and he couldn’t stop trash talking. In the middle of it, Mitsuharu Misawa came to the ring to help a broken Kenta Kobashi to his feet, hugging him, comforting his stablemate. Both left together as Hansen taunt them with a microphone already in hand. Then, the Triple Crown Champion warned Bret Hart and Jumbo Tsuruta, B Block contenders, saying he’ll be watching their clash in Kobe tomorrow, because he’s dying to know who will he beat to win 1992’s Champion Carnivale.

- Match #7 – B Block: Jumbo Tsuruta [12] def. Bret Hart [10] --- (Powerbomb) --- 23 min. [78].
Show Rating: 74 Non-Tournament Highlight:»» Even though Naoki Sano grabbed the win in the all-Jr. Heavyweight six-man tag team match after pinning Satoru Asako, he wasn’t so fortunate afterwards, as he and his partners Dean Malenko and Ultimo Dragon were attacked by the losers: Masanobu Fuchi, Satoru Asako and Yoshinori Ogawa. In particular, Fuchi locked the STF on the number one contender, maybe because he senses that his AJPW World Jr. Heavyweight Championship may be in danger as it has never been before. B Block Recap: X B Block Match Doug Furnas vs. Mighty InoueA glimpse of last hope for Inoue. But it was only just that, as Doug Furnas managed to overcome the veteran despite his outstanding resiliency. Out of kayfabe, Furnas did his best to put on a nice match that ended after a Frankensteiner. The two shook hands respectfully after the bell sounded. Doug Furnas [4] over Mighty Inoue --- 7 min. X B Block Match Akira Taue vs. Johnny SmithSmith produced a series of good-to-great matches in this year’s Champion Carnival but only had two points until his last-round clash with Taue. Two distinct styles collided, fusing in strong style, and for about 15 minutes, Taue and Smith beat each other intensely. A Dynamic Kick and a Tsukuba Makiwari (Hip Toss Chokeslam) were not enough to put Smith down for the three count, with the British being determined to grab one more win. And he did. They say «the bigger they are, the harder they fall», so when Taue fell, he fell the hardest, being dropped with a Death Valley Bomb that proved to be enough to hand Smith the upset victory. Johnny Smith [4] over Akira Taue [8] --- 15 min. X B Block Match Terry Gordy vs. Toshiaki KawadaTwo second-line contenders to win the B Block. They were, of course, already eliminated, but they still had it in them to show why they are so highly rated. The match was a slobberknocker, with forearms being thrown all over the place and Kawada’s bloody mouth adding in the visual aspect. Gordy wanted to make up for his loss, two days ago, at the hands of Tsuruta. But his aggressiveness only motivated Kawada a bit more, specially when the Super Generation Army member managed to kick out of a Belly-to-Belly Suplex. In the end, a flurry of kicks stunned Gordy, which prompted Kawada to lift him up for an impressive Spike Brainbuster. The double champion tried to get back to his feet but was met by a Dangerous Kick while kneeling. That was it. Toshiaki Kawada [10] over Terry Gordy [8] --- 14 min. X B Block Match Bret Hart vs. Jumbo TsurutaIt all came down to this. In the final match of the round robin phase of the Champion Carnival, WWF’s Bret Hart and AJPW’s ace Jumbo Tsuruta battled for the top spot of the B Block. The match was a very technical one, with the former Triple Crown Champion having the physical advantage. Hart was clearly the underdog in this one. But he was used to that too in America where he is widely respected. And in AJPW, as a former AWWA Global Open Champion, he made himself known too. Tsuruta knew it and acknowledged Hart’s strategy of going for his legs to “chop the eucalyptus down”. Particularly, a Figure Four Leg Lock aided by the ringpost took some toll on Tsuruta, and the crowd was all behind Hart. However, Tsuruta wasn’t going down easily and multiple Suplex variations, used as counters, put him back in control of the bout. Heading to the final minutes with none showing signals of being close to giving up, the big moves appeared. Bret managed to lock the Sharpshooter in the same way he did two nights ago versus Smith. But it wasn’t enough, as Jumbo managed to reach the ropes. Then, a Kesagiri Chop to the back of Bret’s already boiling neck took him down, and the Backdrop Suplex seemed to seal the win for Tsuruta: 1…2… but no! Bret kicked out. So… Tsuruta had to resort to the Powerbomb! 1…2…3! Tsuruta heads to the Finale. Jumbo Tsuruta [12] over Bret Hart [10] --- 23 min.»» After the match, Jumbo Tsuruta grabbed a mic and cut a somewhat spirited promo, shading to his babyface days. However, the crowd didn’t really buy it and received it with a mixed reaction. Tsuruta manifested how much it meant to him to win back-to-back Champion Carnivals in a week time, and guaranteed he plans to do it, as a way to get the AJPW Triple Crown Heavyweight Championship back. Hearing this, Stan Hansen got to the ring, claiming the belt wasn’t going to change owners anytime soon. The two butted heads, as Hansen raised the belts and Tsuruta pointed his index finger at the champion. The two were then pulled apart. The hype for the finale is undeniable!
