Cornette says that Bret is a shell of his old self, 8 months off showed it when he had to win by a roll-up, he has no shot in hell of getting passed Big Van Vader. Austin says that Pillman has always been envious of him and his success, the only way Pillman could become a star is by developing a character, and because he likes to blur the lines so much, he's now convinced himself he really is a loose cannon. Pillman says that Austin still wants to cling onto the past whenever it involves him, he'll happily humiliate his bald ass. Austin doesn't break his neck in this match since Brian Pillman doesn't do sitout tombstones, however, Austin does take a scary bump off a Superplex that sees him land head first that does cause long-term damage to his neck and forces him to change his in-ring style (just not a fracture that forces him to vacate.))
