WCW Monday Nitro Episode #40
Highlights from WCW SuperBrawl XII. Especially the intense and bloody steel cage match between Ric Flair and Steve Corino, along with some photos capturing Goldberg's successful title defense and the subsequent attack on James Mitchell by Black Reign. In the office, Steve Corino and Arn Anderson argue with WCW Commissioner Dusty Rhodes. Corino demands a rematch against Flair. Dusty is ready to give any rematch as long as Ric Flair agrees to it. Dusty also reminds that Steve Corino is still WCW United States champion. So, two pieces of news… First, the tournament will start tonight with the final scheduled for Uncensored. Winner of that tournament will get a shot at WCW United States Championship. However, it might have nothing to do with Corino, as he will defend his title next week… against Chavo Guerrero! Mike Tenay and Jerry Lawler properly open WCW Monday Nitro. We’re broadcasting from Lakefront Arena, New Orleans, Louisiana. Match 1, WCW Cruiserweight Championship: AJ Styles vs Shannon Moore. Moore jumps with a springboard crossbody, but Styles counters with a powerslam. Moore grabs Styles from behind. Pele kick by AJ! Styles Clash. 1...2...3. (7:28) (73) Post match, Vampiro rushes to the ring and delivers Nail in the Coffin to Moore. (50) Last Night - Black Reign attacked his manager James Mitchell. New entrance music hits… It’s… Dustin Rhodes! No makeup. No Black Reign’s attire. Natural Dustin Rhodes. “Recognize me? It ain't easy, is it? When you've been associated with names like Goldust… or Black Reign… or - God forbid - Seven, or any other freak, your whole life… It’s not easy to be myself. But I'm tired of it all. Yesterday, I suffered one of the biggest beatings of my life, thanks to Goldberg. But what happened after the match pissed me off even more. Since the WCW reboot, James Mitchell has been trying to lure me to his dark side. Oh, Dustin Rhodes is pathetic. You need to become the Black Reign. Oh, I'll help you become the world champion. Blah, blah, blah. And when his plan failed, he put the blame on me! So you know what, James? You can take all your voodoo, all your meditations, all your ideas, costumes, and mysticism - and shove it up your ass. You want me to be a nightmare? I'll be a nightmare to you. I'll be a nightmare to WCW. And I don't need to change my appearance to do that. So from now on, I'm going to be the very real American Nightmare, Dustin Rhodes. And I'm still after the WCW World Heavyweight Championship”. (75) Match 2: LAX (Homicide and Hernandez) vs Colt Cabana and Julio Dinero. Dinero and Cabana set up Homicide for a double-team maneuver, but Homicide sends Dinero right into a powerful clothesline from Hernandez. Gringo Killer to Cabana, and that's it. (3:52) (52) Chris Kanyon in-ring promo. He declares that he defeated Ken Shamrock last night and boasts about defeating every superstar who has been here in the past year. Ric Flair? Done. DDP? Done. Shamrock? Done. But he still hasn't received that he believes he deserves. Singles match for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. That's why he's here. He wants... no, he demands!... the match against Goldberg… … Shawn Michaels interrupts! He points out that in his day, title matches weren't demanded in this ring. Back then, you had to work hard, defeat the best of the best, and earn recognition from management. From what Michaels sees, Kanyon is not champion’s material. He can't win fair and square. So even though Michaels doesn't make those decisions, he would never consider Kanyon a contender. Kanyon responds by accusing Shawn of being jealous. Kanyon believes he's more attractive and popular. And HBK just can’t stand it… He can’t stand that Kanyon will become WCW World Heavyweight Champion, because Michaels will never be the champion himself… … WCW World Heavyweight Champion Goldberg joins the party! He respects HBK, but let him not decide for Goldberg where and when to fight who. There is a tension between HBK and Goldberg. Things get hotter. Dusty Rhodes shows up to defuse it. Dusty says that Kanyon has every right to a title match. Just like the other WCW superstars. So tonight's main event will be a Fatal 4-Way match. The winner will face Goldberg for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship at Uncensored. It will feature Chris Kanyon, Booker T, Ken Shamrock and 'American Nightmare' Dustin Rhodes. And since the HBK himself got into it, he'll be able to see to it that everything is fair - as a special enforcer! (97) Match 3, 15-men Gauntlet for #1 Contendership for WCW Cruiserweight Championship: Air Paris, Brian Kendrick, Christian York, Elix Skipper, 'The Future' Frankie Kazarian, Jason Cross, Jerelle Clark, Joey Matthews, Low Ki, Matt Sydal, Paul London, Petey Williams, Sonjay Dutt, Sonny Siaki, Yang. The winner will get the title shot at the next Nitro. For some guys it was their WCW debut. The rules were simple: standard battle royal until two contestants remained. Then it becomes a normal singles match. York and Matthews teamed up, as did Kendrick and London. Petey Williams made several eliminations throughout the match, making himself visible for the announcers and the crowd. Final six: Kendrick, London, Skipper, Sydal, Low Ki, and Petey Williams. Sydal attempts a top-rope hurricanrana on Skipper, but Skipper blocks. Together with Williams, they executes a powerbomb to the ringside. Sydal is eliminated. Kendrick and London do a double STO on Willias and eliminate them. Kendrick goes to the top rope. Low Ki attacks him and performs a Tidal Crush. Kendrick is eliminated. Skipper and Low Ki join the forces against London. But it was a short alliance, as Low Ki attacks Skipper from behind and eliminates him. Now we have a standard rules match between Low Ki and Paul London. Back and forth action where both could win the bout. London climbs the ropes and executes a 450 Splash directly onto Low Ki's knee! Low Ki wins via Ki Krusher. (12:54) (69) James Mitchell promo from some dark place backstage. "Dustin Rhodes? Hahaha. I've invested so much effort into molding you into a powerhouse. To instill confidence in you. To erase the memories of the loser you once were. And it's all been in vain. But that's alright. I now possess real power on my side. Soon, I will unleash it to exact revenge and obliterate all traces of Dustin Rhodes." With these words, Mitchell approaches a mysterious cage and enters it. There is movement inside, and an unfamiliar voice asks, "Father?" Mitchell responds, "Pain is not frightening. Pain only strengthens you. You do not feel pain." Voice: "I feel no pain, Father." Mitchell takes a whip and begins mercilessly striking the figure. The camera pans away, capturing only the sound of screams and moans. Match 4: 'The Face of WCW' Sean O'Haire (w/ Bobby Heenan) vs Carly Colon. Colon attempted to counter his more powerful opponent, but quickly fell victim to a backbreaker and a Widow Maker. (2:30) (60) Post match, Sean O’Haire grabs the mic. Since yesterday, he's been hearing everywhere that even though he won, Sting had the upper hand. O'Haire declares that he's ready to face Sting in any match and defeat him so thoroughly that he'll never be able to stand again. He wants to settle this once and for all. (70) Backstage, Ken Shamrock wants an explanation from Booker T for his actions at SuperBrawl. Booker apologizes and explains that there was nothing he could have done. It wasn't personal. Ted DiBiase is here. He reveals that it was a favor he did for someone else, and Booker still works for him, so he had nothing to say. By the way that's also a reason why Booker T won't participate at #1 Contendership match tonight. As Booker's manager, Ted makes a substitution. Mark Jindrak will fight instead of him! (76) Match 5, 1/4 Finals for #1 Contendership for WCW United States Championship: CM Punk vs American Dragon. Punk was significantly weakened from the attacks by Lance Storm in last night's match. Taking advantage of Punk's weakened state, American Dragon, being a skilled technical wrestler, added a few more holds of his own. In the end, Dragon locked Punk in the Cow Killer submission hold. CM Punk managed to reach the ropes and countered with a hard kick to the head. Punk positioned Dragon on the turnbuckle and executed a Pepsi Plunge. 1...2...3. CM Punk advances to the semi finals. (6:09) (76) Backstage, WCW Cruiserweight Tag Team champions Rey Mysterio and Billy Kidman discuss the fact that both of them are in the tournament and have a chance to win the WCW United States Championship. (60) Ric Flair in-ring promo. He has a visible signs of his brutal match from the last night. But he's kinda happy. Flair shares that yesterday he experienced one of the most brutal beatings of his life. However, it wasn't the first time. There was a period when Flair endured that kind of beating 300 nights a year. Holding the world title, traveling across the country, constantly having a target on his back… Every guy in the locker room wanted to beat him up and snatch the championship belt. But Flair would step into that ring and defend it with everything he had. He gave his all for the fans, for those who came to witness it. And even though the next day he thought he couldn't get up due to the pain, he would come and do what the people wanted to see. That, according to Flair, is what old school wrestling is all about. And yesterday, Flair sent Steve Corino back to that old school. Yet, he couldn't have done it without acknowledging the man he wants to offer his personal gratitude to… … Chavo Guerrero is invited to the ring. Chavo and Flair shake hands, displaying mutual respect. Chavo takes the mic and says that he's been contemplating a lot in the past few weeks. He received an intriguing offer to join the Four Horsemen. Chavo reminds everyone that his uncle was once wanted as the Horseman. Everyone wanted him in the group. He was a perfect fit. But it didn't come to it. He never made it. Look… Chavo managed to forge a successful career without the Horsemen. He doesn't need the Horsemen to achieve success, especially not the current incarnation of the group. Chavo recalls how it was Corino who played a role in him losing hisWCW United States Championship. And now they want Chavo to help him defend that title? No way. That's not how it should be. How it should be is that Chavo Guerrero will reclaim the WCW United States Championship next week at Nitro… … Four Horsemen are at the ramp. Corino acknowledges that Ric Flair did a remarkable job against him last night. However, it wasn't a victory for Flair. Corino puts the blame on Guerrero, asserting that it was all his fault. Now, they have two choices. The first option is to call it quits. The second is to settle once and for all. Corino asserts that there's only one match that can accomplish that, a match that aligns with everything they stand for. It's the match that epitomizes the Four Horsemen. It's the match that defined their legacy. Corino challenges Flair to a War Games rules match at Uncensored! 5-on-5. Corino's Four Horsemen vs Flair's group. Ric Flair accepts the challenge and announces that Chavo Guerrero will be the first member of his team. (85) Match 6, 1/4 Finals for #1 Contendership for WCW United States Championship: Rey Mysterio vs Christopher Daniels. Christopher Daniels was on alert for Vampiro all the match. So naturally he was distracted. Mysterio countered Daniels' attempt at Angel's Wings and placed him on the ropes. 6-1-9! And springboard legdrop. Rey Mysterio advanced to the semi finals. (5:56) (77) Match 7, #1 Contendership for WCW World Heavyweight Championship: ‘American Nightmare’ Dustin Rhodes vs Chris Kanyon vs Mark Jindrak (w/ Ted DiBiase) vs Ken Shamrock. Each participant came close to victory and had opportunities to execute their signature moves. Dustin Rhodes takes down Jindrak with a Bionic Elbow. Ted DiBiase climbs onto the apron, only to receive a Bionic Elbow as well. Kanyon attacks Rhodes and performs a Flatliner! 1…2… Shamrock brokes the pin and locks Kanyon in the Ankle Lock! Ted DiBiase pulls the referee out of the ring and knocks him down with a right hand! Ted throws a chair into the ring. Shawn Michaels intervenes as the special enforcer! He takes on the role of the referee. Booker T is here! He grabs the chair and going to hit Jindrak... but misses... and hits Shamrock instead! HBK knocks Booker T out of the ring with Sweet Chin Music! HBK turns around and see Kanyon pinning Shamrock down. 1...2... Shamrock puts foot on the ropes... 3. Unfortunately HBK didn't see it. Chris Kanyon becomes the #1 contender for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship! (10:52) (86) Overall: 86

In the world of MMA, when you gain some level of fame, everyone tries to dictate your actions. They tell you who to fight, what strategies to employ, where to show up, what to promote... Chavo asserts that the WCW United States Championship rightfully belongs to him, and Corino is the sole reason he isn't the champion. WCW Monday Nitro Episode #42 Last Week - Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli interfered in a match between Steve Corino and Chavo Guerrero. As a result, Chavo couldn't become the WCW US Champion, despite coming very close. Hero and Castagnoli became the newest members of the Four Horsemen. (80) WCW Monday Nitro kicked off with Mike Tenay and Jerry Lawler as our announcers. Tonight - Sting vs Sean O'Haire in Last Man Standing match! The Four Horsemen open the show. The complete group is here - WCW US Champion Steve Corino, WCW World Tag Team Champions Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli, enforcer CW Anderson and "brain" behind the group Arn Anderson. Arn starts: "You know, when the idea of reviving the Four Horsemen came to my mind, I had no idea how formidable it would become. Look, how do you measure value? By price? Some things that were once highly valued can now be purchased for mere pennies. By beauty? Functionality? No. True value is measured by durability. If something was esteemed before, having weathered many years and challenges, and is still esteemed today, then it's an incredibly valuable thing. Like gold. Like diamonds. Diamonds are eternal, as a friend of mine once said. Now, tell me, what do you consider the greatest faction in history? The nWo? And where are they now? One of them is groveling at the feet of a billionaire you all know." Hulk Hogan is the current WWE Champion, by the way. "The second is struggling in Japan, unwanted by anyone." Scott Hall performs in NJPW and has quite a lot of successes there. "And the third one just got kicked out of WCW, despised by the entire locker room." Kevin Nash obviously. "But the Four Horsemen are still here. We're still the champions. Look at us. Steve Corino is a phenomenal US Champion. CW Anderson is a true wrecking machine. Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli, I have never witnessed a more talented team in my entire life. This is the ultimate version of the Four Horsemen. The best ever was. And we are here to seize control of WCW by the throat!" Steve Corino continues: "I've already mentioned that Chavo Guerrero made a huge mistake by rejecting us. But you know what? It's even better for us. Because now, we have the most talented young wrestlers in WCW and the WCW World Tag Team Championship. No one can stop us." Chris Hero takes the mic: "When we arrived in WCW, we needed protection. We were aware of what WCW could do to young guys like us if we weren't prepared enough. But you know what? We don't need it now. We don't need Kevin Nash or any other veteran over us. They are the ones who need protection from us. Because we are here. We are the champions. And we hunger for victories." Arn Anderson adds that they already have four team members for the Wargames, while Flair only has Chavo and is unlikely to find anyone else. Anderson promises to announce the fifth member of their team later today... ... Ric Flair and Chavo Guerrero enter the ramp. Flair acknowledges that he may not have recruited anyone yet, but he proudly has Chavo Guerrero by his side. And if anything, the two of them are more than willing to take on the entire Horsemen. Ric states that he has some ideas on who to bring in. But... that's for later. And for tonight they challenge Hero and Castagnoli to put the WCW World Tag Team Championship on the line! The challenge is accepted. (85) Tonight - Ric Flair and Chavo Guerrero vs Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli for the WCW World Tag Team Championship. The rules are simple - the last two competitors in the battle royal will team up with their partners at Uncensored to determine the #1 contenders for the WCW World Tag Team Championship. Pretty quickly, the first half of the contestants are eliminated. This leaves Kaz Hayashi, Low Ki, Homicide, Hernandez, Daniels, Moore, Bobby Roode, Glen Gilberti, and Joey Matthews. Gilberti throws Moore over the ropes with a backdrop, but Moore manages to grab onto the top rope. Vampiro is here! He pulls Shannon out, eliminating him. DDT on the mat from Vampiro! Daniels sees it. He slips between the ropes... only to get a punch from Vampiro. Vertical suplex across the ropes by Vampiro. Daniels falls out of the ring - and he's eliminated. Double superkick by Hayashi and Low Ki eliminates Roode. LAX attack them... Hernandez tosses Low Ki out of the ring. Hayashi eliminates Homicide with a dropkick. Final four: Hayashi, Hernandez, Gilberti and Matthews. Gilberti hits Matthews with a Chartbaster. Joey is eliminated! Hayashi puts Gilberti on the top rope... Hernandez kicks both of the out with a big boot. Kaz manages to grab the ropes and stay in the match. That's it. Hayashi and Low Ki will fight LAX at Uncensored for the title shot. (10:41) (70) Video vignette about some Samoan guy practicing takedowns and suplexes. His name is Samoa Joe. And he will soon make his WCW debut. (48) Backstage, Ric Flair talks to Sting. He offers to join his team at Wargames. Sting responds by saying that his focus is currently on the match, and he will provide his answer later. (78) Backstage, Rey Mysterio and Billy Kidman talk. So Kidman won't have a partner to defend WCW Cruiserweight Tag Team Championship at PPV. They will have to find a solution for that. (71) Match 2: Jamie Noble vs Sonjay Dutt. Skipper breaks the pin. London on the top rope... Skipper pushes him out of the ring. Petey Williams blocks the move by Kendrick and does a Canadian Destroyer, showcasing it for the first time on WCW TV and exciting the audience. 1...2...3. (4:37) (70) Last Week - The verbal confrontation between Shawn Michaels and Chris Canyon concluded with Sweet Chin Music by HBK. Chris Kanyon in-ring promo. “I've had enough of it. Shawn Michaels. He shows up here every week acting like a clown. Who is here? The wrestler? No. Leader? No. Let me tell you who he is. He's a local clown who entertains idiots like all of you. When I said we were similar, I wasn't lying. We are similar. We both have the potential to have a match of the year. We both started from the bottom. We have the looks, athleticism, and skills. But there's one major difference - I worked my way up. Shawn Michaels, on the other hand, was plucked from the lower card and placed at the top, thanks to his shenanigans, politics, the Kliq, and kissing Vince McMahon's ass. Oh, am I not allowed to say Vince McMahon's name on a WCW show? I don't give a damn about that! No one helped me. I fought against politics behind the scenes, I fought against egomaniacs like Nash and Hogan, I fought against everything that was against me to rise to the top. Shawn spent his entire life kissing Vince's ass, manipulating the locker room with the Kliq, and he's willing to cheat and stab anyone in the back. Marty Jannetty. Bret Hart. You name it. That's the difference between us. I have values. I have morals. I have the code. Shawn Michaels is just like all of you. A spineless lapdog who's finally getting what he deserves from karma. And I don't care if you boo me or cheer for him. If HBK was healthy, we would have a Kanyon-Michaels match, sell out the arena, and I would put an end to it all when I pin him for the three-count. But that's not going to happen. Because I'm the one going to the main event at Uncensored to become the WCW World Heavyweight Champion. Shawn Michaels can only do a cool promo."... … Shawn Michaels is here to respond. "I apologize for interrupting, but I have some news that can't wait." Kanyon interjects, "What's the matter, did another vertebrae fall to your underwear?" Michaels responds, "You can brag all you want about going to the main event at Uncensored, where I hope Goldberg beats the hell out of you. But I have news for you. You see, Chris... it seems you and I really are alike. Because I'm also going to the main event at Uncensored! You see, I've been thinking for a long time about how I can rectify my mistake. I just came from the WCW Commissioner’s office... In the Uncensored match between Goldberg and Chris Kanyon, The Heartbreak Kid will be the special guest referee!" (100) Backstage, Goldberg and Ken Shamrock have a conversation. They are ready to put their past problems behind them and work as a team tonight. (75) Match 4, 1/2 Finals for #1 Contendership for WCW United States Championship: Rey Mysterio vs Mark Jindrak (w/ Ted DiBiase). Rey Mysterio launches a series of quick maneuvers. Jindrak is too powerful for him. With DiBiase in his corner he gained the advantage. Jindrak is ready for a Mark of Excellence. Dustin Rhodes' music distracts him. Rey rolls him up for the three count and advances to the final! (5:13) (78) Post match, Dustin Rhodes actually rushes to the ring and attacks Jindrak. They brawl all over the arena. WCW Security is here to separate them. (72) James Mitchell is in a dark basement. There's a cage from which someone is attempting to break free. Mitchell asserts that Rhodes is too preoccupied with Jindrak, oblivious to Mitchell's true weapon. He claims to have been molding him for a long time, infusing him with pain and suffering. This monstrous being knows only two things: destruction and obedience to his father, James. Mitchell promises that soon he will be unleashed to carry out his orders and destroy Dustin Rhodes. James starts to electrocute the unknown man's body. Match 5: Goldberg and Ken Shamrock vs Booker T and Chris Kanyon. Shawn Michaels joins the announcers. After a while he engaged in another brawl with Kanyon. Sweet Chin Music attempt at ringside... Kanyon dodges... Goldberg got knocked out! Back to the ring, Shamrock gets a Flatliner from Kanyon and Bookend by Booker T. 1...2...3. (8:24) (78) Post match, Shawn Michaels is in big trouble to prove to Goldberg that he didn't mean to attack him. Match 6, WCW World Tag Team Championship: Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli (w/ Four Horsemen) vs Ric Flair and Chavo Guerrero. It was a fantastic match between these two teams. Hiro and Castagnoli dominated Ric Flair for a considerable period, preventing him from making the tag. They executed some impressive moves on Flair. Finally Flair managed to tag in Chavo. CW Anderson intervene. He pulls out Flair to the ringside and delivers Spinebuster on the mat. Chavo is ready to finish Castagnoli with a Frog Splash... Hero stops him with a superkick! Chavo falls down, Castagnoli pins him. 1...2...NO! Castagnoli tries to perform a Neutralizer... Chavo counters into a Gory Bomb! 1...2... NO! Hero breaks the pin at the last moment. Arn Anderson distracts the referee. Hero hits Chavo with a championship belt. Euro Uppercut/Disqus Elbow combo. 1...2...3. (12:14) (84) Post match, all Four Horsemen attack Flair and Chavo. American Dragon rushes to save, but numbers are still on the Horsemen's side. Lance Storm joins the faces. All four of them clear the ring of Horsemen. (73) Match 7, Last Man Standing: Sting vs ‘The Face of WCW’ Sean O’Haire. The match quickly spilled out of the ring. Sean O'Haire executes a vertical suplex onto the mats, resulting in the first countdown. A spinebuster onto the steel ramp followed. Countdown to 5. The match goes to the crowd. Series of chair shots by Sting. Countdown to 7. Bobby Heenan tries to interfere, but only gets himself a Scorpion Death Drop! O'Haire uses a distraction and does a pumphandle slam through the announcers table! Countdown... to 9! O'Haire is furious. Back to the ring. Widow Maker! Again to 9. O'Haire puts the chair on the ring... Widow Maker attempt on the chair... Sting blocks and does a bulldog on it! A chair goes into the corners, same place goes O'Haire... Stinger Splash! Scorpion Death Drop! Countdown to 8. O'Haire leaves the ring and goes to the ramp. Sting catches him with a chair shot to the back. Scorpion Deathlock at the ramp! O'Haire taps out... but it doesn't work here. Gradually, Sean begins to lose consciousness. Which was exactly what Sting needed! O'Haire passesout. The referee starts to count... Four Horsemen are back at the arena! They attack Sting and throw him down the ramp through the tables! Ric Flair, Chavo Guerrero, American Dragon and Lance Storm are here to save Sting. Massive brawl all over the place. But for Sting it's too late as he counted down to 10. (13:17) (75) Post match, the brawl continues. Team Flair gain the advantage. Sting requires medical attention, but so is O'Haire. And that concludes the show. Overall: 83

WCW Monday Nitro Episode #43
Last Week - Highlights of the feud between the Four Horsemen and Team Flair from previous Nitro. Mike Tenay and Jerry Lawler welcome us to another episode of WCW Monday Nitro from Gainesville, Florida. Ric Flair, Chavo Guerrero, Lance Storm and American Dragon in-ring promo. Flair does the talking: "It was pretty intense last week, wasn't it? It felt like the good old times. The Four Horsemen on one side, everyone else on the other. But this time, The Nature Boy is NOT on the Horsemen's side. And this Sunday at Uncensored, it's going to be a throwback to the old days once again. WarGames. A cage match with 10 people who will annihilate each other until there are no opponents left standing. WOOOOOOO! And I want to introduce the brave men who will join me in that cage. First, Chavo Guerrero, a man who has been knocking on the door of the main event scene for a long time. Lance Storm, one of the most talented technical wrestlers I know. And the American Dragon. You, sir, are young guy. But I see potential in you. A lot of it. You've kicked Hero and Castagnoli's asses before, and you'll do it again on Team Flair. And finally... let me introduce to you the last member of our team. Someone who will make all the difference in the world, tipping the scales in our favor. STING!"... … Sting makes his way to the ring. "I've fought against the Four Horsemen halfway through my career. I never thought I'd be standing shoulder to shoulder with Ric Flair. But, Steve Corino, you made a huge mistake last week. You didn't awaken Sting. You woke up STING! WOOOOOO! And at Uncensored, I will step into that cage, and I guarantee you this: you won't make it out."... … Four Horsemen come to the ramp. Arn Anderson with the mic: “Yeah, last week was intense, just like the old times. But at Uncensored, it's going to be over real quick. You know why, Ric? Because before these matches used to feature evenly matched teams. Look at the team you're with now. The crumbling Sting. Chavo Guerrero, who never achieved anything significant and always remained in his family's shadow. Lance Storm, who has been nothing but a loser for as long as I can remember. And the American Dragon? Seriously? Why don't you bring the teenage boy next door onto your team as well? And look at us. We have the WCW World Tag Team Champions and the most promising team in the sport today. CW Anderson is a true enforcer. The best there could be. The best I ever was. And Steve Corino, WCW United States Champion. But since you brought up the difference topic, here's something that will debunk all talk of a class difference. The fifth member of our War Games team is a real monster - Sean O'Haire!”... … ‘The Face of WCW’ Sean O’Haire and Bobby Heenan join the Horsemen at the ramp. Heenan: "What an alliance! The Four Horsemen and Bobby Heenan's company! This is the best business venture I've ever had." Ric Flair interrupts him. Since Arn believes his guys are superior, Flair proposes putting it to the test. Flair offers that Hero and Castagnoli will put the WCW World Tag Team Championship on the line against Lance Storm and American Dragon. Additionally, Sting, Chavo, and Flair will take on Corino, O'Haire and CW Anderson in a six-man match. They better accept the challenge because Flair can go to Dusty Rhodes and make it all official. The challenge is accepted! We have some exciting matches lined up for tonight's Nitro. (77) Video vignette about upcoming debut of suplex machine Samoa Joe. (60) Match 1: Homicide (w/ Hernandez) vs Low Ki (w/ Kaz Hayashi). Kaz Hayashi and Low Ki will face LAX at Uncensored in a #1 contendership match. Mike Tenay mentions that Homicide was Low Ki's coach. Low Ki climbs the top rope, but Homicide attacks and brings him down with a superplex. Kaz Hayashi tries to interfere from the apron. Hernandez takes care of him, but the distraction is enough for Homicide to fall victim to the Ki Krusher. (5:58) (57) Backstage, Chris Kanyon talks to WCW Commissioner Dusty Rhodes. He can't comprehend how Shawn Michaels secured the referee spot for the main event at Uncensored. Dusty responds that the decision is final and cannot be negotiated. Kanyon promises to not let it slide. Match 2: Ken Shamrock vs Mark Jindrak (w/ Ted DiBiase and Booker T). After an initial onslaught from Shamrock, Mark Jindrak gains control. He takes Shamrock down with a series of clotheslines and follows it up with a high dropkick. 1...2. Mark of Excellence attempt... Shamrock transitions into the Ankle Lock! Mark is too close to the ropes. Shamrock is distracted by Booker T for a moment. As he turns around, Jindrak delivers a Mark of Excellence. 1...2...3. What a big win for Jindrak! (7:40) (70) Backstage, WCW Cruiserweight Tag Team Champions Rey Mysterio and Billy Kidman discuss the fact that Rey will be competing in the singles finals at Uncensored, which means he won't be able to participate in their title defense. Kidman clearly isn't happy, but he assures Rey that he'll find a replacement for him for that night. Match 3: Rey Mysterio, Billy Kidman and AJ Styles vs Jamie Noble, Elix Skipper and Petey Williams. Fast match where each competitor had their moment to shine. Towards the end, Petey Williams is about to execute a Canadian Destroyer on Styles, but Kidman stops him with a missile dropkick. Williams then receives a 6-1-9 from Mysterio and falls right into the Styles Clash from Styles. 1...2...3. (8:19) (74) Backstage, Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli are a bit nervous their title defense tonight. Steve Corino reassures them, saying that the Four Horsemen will take care of it together, just like they did last week. Backstage, Ric Flair pumps up Lance Storm and American Dragon before their match tonight. James Mitchell is seen in some kind of basement, with cries for help heard in the background. Mitchell reveals that his child is almost ready. He is filled with pain and suffering, waiting to unleash it upon someone. That "someone" will be the traitor Dustin Rhodes. The monster will be unleashed... at Uncensored. Match 4, 1/2 Finals for #1 Contendership for WCW United States Championship: ‘American Nightmare’ Dustin Rhodes vs CM Punk. CM Punk gains the advantage with his tough kicks and cheap tactics. He focuses his attacks on Rhodes' leg, performing a frog splash onto it and locking Rhodes in a Figure-Four Leglock. Rhodes manages to break free, but walks right into an enziguri. 1...2. CM Punk argues with the referee. It allows Rhodes to hit a bulldog. 1...2. Rhodes is ready for a Blackout. Punk blocks and throws him out of the ring. Punk holds onto his knee. The referee check Punk's condition. In the meantime, Mark Jindrak comes to the ringside and hits Rhodes with a Superkick. Dustin is back in the ring... Pepsi Plunge by Punk! 1...2...3. (5:40) (72) Post match, Dustin Rhodes grabs the mic. He challenges Jindrak to settle their differences at Uncensored in a real street fight. Jindrak accepts. Shawn Michaels arrives at the building. Match 5, WCW World Tag Team Championship: Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli (w/ Four Horsemen) vs Lance Storm and American Dragon. Hero and Castagnoli tried to isolate Dragon. Hot tag to Storm. Superkick to Hero! German Suplex and snap suplex on Claudio, same to Hero. Storm locks Hero in a Half-Boston Crab. CW Anderson tries to interfere, but Dragon knocks him down. Meanwhile, behind the referee's back, Corino struck Storm with the WCW US championship belt to the head. Castagnoli rolls him up for three. (12:56) (81) Match 6: Ric Flair, Chavo Guerrero and Sting vs Steve Corino, CW Anderson (w/ Arn Anderson) and ‘The Face of WCW’ Sean O’Haire (w/ Bobby Heenan). Maintaining order in the ring was extremely difficult for the referee due to constant interference from the competitors and even the managers. Sting and Sean O'Haire had their own personal story, while Flair and Corino had their own rivalry. Steve Corino locked Chavo Guerrero in the Figure-Four Leglock and held Anderson's hand for added leverage. The referee eventually caught on. Ric Flair and CW Anderson are tagged in. Spinebuster by Anderson! 1...2...NO! Tags to O'Haire and Sting. Series of clotheslines by Sting. Bulldog by Sting! All the participants at the ring. In the chaos Sting hits Anderson with a Stinger Splash. Another Stinger Splash for Corino! Scorpion Death Drop for Anderson! Sean O'Haire attacks Sting, and they go out of the ring. In the ring Chavo Guerrero finishes CW Anderson with a Frog Splash. 1...2...3. (13:13) (77) Shawn Michaels in-ring promo. “You know, after my horrific injury, I was supposed to return to normal life. There was a time when I thought I couldn't step foot in that ring again. But I couldn't live without it. I searched for fulfillment elsewhere, but I was inevitably drawn back to this ring. You can take the HBK out of wrestling, but you can't take wrestling out of the HBK. I've had countless memorable matches in this ring. It's over now. But... In just 6 days I will be the referee for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship match. I promise you it will be a great performance. Like always. I will be fair. I will count for three no matter who will win. And I will ensure everything is done by the book."... … WCW World Heavyweight Champion Goldberg interrupts! "An honest match? Fair three count? Then how the hell do you explain Sweet Chin Music right here, right in my jaw, a week ago? You know what saved you from a well-deserved Spear after that? The fact that I annihilate my opponents in the ring. Real performers. I don't take down old veterans! So at Uncensored, you better make sure it's fair because nothing will save you then!" HBK responds: "Old veterans? I'll pretend I didn't hear that. I may be old, but I have it in me to deliver another Sweet Chin Music." Goldberg and Shawn Michaels face off, and the tension in the arena builds... ... Chris Kanyon confidently (too confidently?) makes his way to the ring. He talks to Goldberg: "You're da man. Look at HBK. Look at him. You can't trust him, and I can't trust him either. He might not be biased towards you or me, but he definitely won't be impartial. He hasn't lived an honest life for a day. He built his entire career by sucking up to the stronger man, using cheap manipulation. And now he is in WCW. Do you think it will be any different here? You and I are going to have a great match in six days, but HBK shouldn't be there."... HBK interrupts the speech and turns to Goldberg, saying, "You and I have our differences, but right now we agree that some trash needs to be thrown out of the ring." HBK attacks Kanyon! They exchange punches. Goldberg goes for a Spear... misses... and hits Michaels! Shawn is badly hurt. His back is hurt. Goldberg looks perplexed. Kanyon hits him with the championship belt to the back of the head! Kanyon leaves the ring. Goldberg regains consciousness, blood trickling down from his head. Shawn Michaels is laying down. It looks like he can't move his feet! Paramedics are here to help him. Chris Kanyon looks happy... and that's the end for Nitro. See you at Uncensored! (95) Overall: 83

Thank you, and welcome aboard!
I kinda was forced to push young guys fast (sometimes too fast), as a lot of my top men went away or went lame. Fortunately, a lot of these young guys could deliver (except for those who couldn't and went back to lower card or away). Plus it's a good way to be different considering there are a lot of WCW games playing around by much better writers than I am.
