Meanwhile the entire Burslem Port Vale team held a ticker tape parade, drank well into the night and could be heard boisterously singing...THERE'S SOMEONE WORSE THAN US! THERE'S SOMEONE WORSE THAN US! And just like that, back to reality within a week. Felt weird not seeing them bottom

THERE'S SOMEONE WORSE THAN US! And just like that, back to reality within a week. Felt weird not seeing them bottom I do admire the fact that Burslem Port Vale and Loughborough knew that it was going to end in a draw anyway so didn't bother playing each other it seems. Then Loughborough conspired to lose a game.

Also Burton would have been last, if not for scraping by Port Vale? Geez I'm not holding out hope for a Burton play off run this season.

1893/94 Division 1 - Week 12
No real surprise in the winner here as Aston Villa score in the 79th to successfully put away Sunderland Albion, to remain up the top of the tabel although they are still unable to move into the top spot.
Sunderland AFC's dismal run continues as they go 12 without a win, racking up their 10th loss of the season so far as Everton dominate and score in the 41st and 52nd minutes to help them avoid the playoff spots.
Derby County take an early lead with a 10th minute goal and hold on until half time, however as the match wears on it swings over to West Brom looking better and better. Two late goals in the last 15 minutes win the match for the Baggies at Derby Cricket Ground.
Bootle dominate at Hawthorne Road and are unlucky to only win by one, with their sole goal coming in the 67th minute.
Two sides that seem to good to be in the playoffs, but nowhere near good enough for a title fight face off with the home side looking the better. While Ironopolis are able to hold out for quite a while, eventually the Blades would score in the 82nd minute to take home the win.
Taking on Darwen away from home at Barley Bank, St George's look to continue their strong run this season as they rack up another win. They'd take the lead early on in the match only for Darwen to equalise quickly. Darwen would look to the better side for much of the remainder of the match but it would end up being the Dragons who would score in the 82nd minute to walk away with both points.
It's a massive win at the Molineux for Wolves who have been fighting to stay above the playoff spots throughout much of the season so far. It was a valiant effort in the first half and as many fans were settling in for a solid draw, Wolves would score in the 76th minute and again in the 83rd minute to take both points and make their cushion up to 3 points.
Still without a win in 12 matches, it wasn't changing this week for Bolton Wanderers at Pike's Lane as Blackburn Rover's incredible form continued, winning their 10th match this season, despite an strong effort by Bolton. A period of poor performance in the 1st half would allow Blackburn to score twice and Bolton would be left unable to recover across the rest of the match.

1893/94 Division 2 - Week 12
Notts County's struggle to push away from the bottom 4 spots is not helped with this match as Burnley score 2 in the first half and another 2 in the second half to gain a clear win.
It's looking set to be a middling season for Crewe and this match won't help as what should've been an easy win sees Grimsby continue to change form as they look to move to a more stable position in the league.
Newton Heath's strong run continues as they continue to fight to take the final playoff spot. For Woolwich Arsenal meanwhile, it's been a disappointing season for the London side who aren't at the same level as many of the more Northern teams.
Loughborough Athletic and drawing, name a more iconic duo. No goals, Loughborough completely outclassed but somehow, in someway they manage to hold on for yet another draw, their 7th of the season so far.
An important match for both sides as getting wins over fellow re-election candidates is going to be vital to have to try and survive the election process, particularly given how tight the battle is. The Swifts were clearly the better side here, scoring in the 32nd and 52nd minutes to walk away with both points and move outside the re-election spots.
That makes it 12 games without a single win for Burslem Port Vale since their relegation to the second division as a pretty poor Ardwick attack is still enough to get the win due to BPV's completely inability to threaten to score. It's looking like bad news for Port Vale as there is now 5 points between them and a guaranteed spot in next season as we near the halfway mark.
Likely one of the toughest games Walsall Town Swifts could face in their push to win the division as they travel to St. James's Park to take on a playoff chasing Newcastle side. Walsall would put on a dominant display however, taking a lead early in the 8th minute and getting 2 more in the 37th and 79th minutes to take the win.
It looked like a shock result was coming at Drill Field as Northwich Victoria would go up in the 9th minute and manage to hold on to the edge of half time with the lead. Liverpool would equalise however and while Liverpool looked slightly the better side the match looked destined to end a draw. That was until in the final minutes of the match, Liverpool manage to put one past the Trickies keeper to steal both points.

If Port Vale are playing Walsall next then Burlsem Port Vale rocks, if they aren't then I agree with rabbitman that Burslem Port Vale sucks. (Gosh I wish life was a little less Port Vale getting relegated and a little more Walsall winning the league.)

I miss that old Newport County diary I had once.
The coolest thing was the guy that supplied the data for Newport to the Football Manager people, actually replied to my diary and said he was happy that someone was getting good use out of what he contributed.
