Week 15 A close match as St George's score in the 25th minute which they manage to hold out past half time. The second half clearly swings however as Villa start putting extra pressure on, scoring at the 67th minute, then ten minutes later they bag a second. A third in the 85th minute confirms the win, meaning Villa beat their rivals in both matches this season.
Accrington 0 - 1 Wolverhampton Wanderers Blackburn Rovers 0 - 2 West Bromwich Albion
Derby County 1 - 1 Preston North End
Everton 2 - 0 Notts County
Walsall Town Swifts 0 - 1 Bolton Wanderers
Wolves beat Accrington with a last minute winner after being the better side throughout the match. West Brom are better than Blackburn, although slightly flattered by the scoreline. Preston steal a point at the Derby Cricket Ground after being dominated by Derby County all game. Everton pepper Notts goal to beat Everton. Walsall outclass Bolton but lose the match anyway. This week confirms Everton, Walsall and Blackburn as being unable to win the league, while Preston are unsurprisingly avoiding the bottom four.
Week 16
Blackburn score a goal in the 19th minute and hold on in an even game. Preston have the better attack and score in the 91st minute to pull away with a point.
Birmingham St George's 1 - 1 Wolverhampton Wanderers West Bromwich Albion 1 - 0 Aston Villa Notts County 3 - 2 Derby County Bolton Wanderers 2 - 0 Everton Walsall Town Swifts 1 - 0 Accrington
Wolves are forced to accept their first draw of the season in an even match with St George's. West Brom, Bolton and Walsall all outclass their opponents in well deserved wins, but the big match is the dramatic match where Notts County put 3 past Derby in the first half but almost had to settle for a draw in the second.

Week 17 & 18 Preview
Week 17 Accrington vs. Birmingham St George's Wolverhampton Wanderers vs. West Bromwich Albion Aston Villa vs. Preston North End Blackburn Rovers vs. Notts County Derby County vs. Bolton Wanderers Highlight: Everton vs. Walsall Town Swifts
Highlight: Some good matches on this week, but it's been a while since we've seen the Swifts play and this match at Anfield will likely be vital for both teams in trying to maintain their spots in the League next season, particularly with the new of Sunderland building a strong (and quite Scottish) team to try to gain entry in the league.
Week 18 West Bromwich Albion vs. Birmingham St George's Highlight: Preston North End vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers Notts County vs. Aston Villa Bolton Wanderers vs. Blackburn Rovers Walsall Town Swifts vs. Derby County Everton vs. Accrington
Highlight: Preston could be on the verge on an invincible season, as they continue to dominate the league. However after managing to sneak away with a win at the Molineux and not looking too great in their last two matches, this match could see Wolves be the team to end Preston's undefeated season hopes.

At this point Preston is destined to retain their title. Can they be invincible? I say no. But they won't lose in the next update! While you were right, got to say this was really close to being wrong. Still got to face the rest of the top 6 (and Notts County) to beat

Week 17 Walsall score early, getting a goal within the first 10 minutes to put themselves ahead. The lead wouldn't be held until half time though as Everton would score in the 31st. The game saw Everton control the ball better while Walsall had the better attack.
Accrington 1 - 1 Birmingham St George's Wolverhampton Wanderers 1 - 1 West Bromwich Albion Aston Villa 3 - 1 Preston North End Blackburn Rovers 3 - 0 Notts County Derby County 0 - 1 Bolton Wanderers
St George's find themselves unlucky not to beat Accrington, while Wolves and West Brom put on an even display. Villa end Preston's undefeated run exactly as predicted by Moore. Blackburn batter Notts County while Bolton get the win in an even match.
Week 18
Preston come back to Deepdale with a vengeance, outclassing Wolves for a lot of the game. Wolves hold on however right up until the 86th minute where Preston slip one past to win the match and knock 6 teams including Wolves out from any hope of title contention, leaving just 1 challenger.
West Bromwich Albion 3 - 1 Birmingham St George's Notts County 0 - 3 Aston Villa Bolton Wanderers 1 - 0 Blackburn Rovers Walsall Town Swifts 2 - 0 Derby County Everton 1 - 2 Accrington
Most result accurately portray the match, although Bolton dominated Blackburn more than their single goal shows. Beating St George's confirms West Brom's spot in the 1890/91 season, as they hold onto second place.

Week 19 & 20 Preview
Week 19 Accrington vs. West Bromwich Albion Birmingham St George's vs. Preston North End Wolverhampton Wanderers vs. Notts County Aston Villa vs. Bolton Wanderers Blackburn Rovers vs. Walsall Town Swifts Highlight: Derby County vs. Everton
Highlight: Derby County had looked good early this season, but after failing to beat Preston have fallen into a bad run of form that could see them slip below Walsall and force them to face re-election for a second season if they can't get the win here.
Week 20 Highlight: Preston North End vs. West Bromwich Albion Notts County vs. Birmingham St George's Bolton Wanderers vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers Walsall Town Swifts vs. Aston Villa Everton vs. Blackburn Rovers Derby County vs. Accrington
Highlight: The top two sides face off in the match that will either hand Preston the trophy or potentially give us a title fight heading into the last two matches of the season as Preston's undefeated run came to an end at the hands of Aston Villa following consecutive draws. West Brom need a win here to pull clear of the midfield pack and challenge Preston. If Preston win, it could easily confirm the title for them.

Week 19 Everton score two early goals in the 5th and 20th minutes before Derby get one back in 28th. Derby look better from the remainder of the half but can't get the ball in the goal. They'd finally equalise in the 59th minute and look ready to score the winner when Everton slip a goal past in the 70th minute to kill their momentum.
Accrington 3 - 1 West Bromwich Albion Birmingham St George's 0 - 1 Preston North End Wolverhampton Wanderers 3 - 0 Notts County Aston Villa 2 - 2 Bolton Wanderers Blackburn Rovers 2 - 1 Walsall Town Swifts
Not a lot to say here as most results show the games well, with Preston beating St George's in close game which alongside West Brom's loss confirms Preston will once again Football League Champion. Walsall, like Derby, find themselves unlucky to get any points in a match where they were the better team.
Week 20
West Brom are out classed by the champions here, who prove why they've won the title again with goals in the 35th and 70th minutes to take home another couple of points
Notts County 1 - 0 Birmingham St George's Bolton Wanderers 1 - 0 Wolverhampton Wanderers Walsall Town Swifts 1 - 2 Aston Villa Everton 0 - 1 Blackburn Rovers Derby County 1 - 2 Accrington
Again, the results say it all. Bolton completely shut out Wolves to confirm their spot in the 1890/91 season, alongside Wolves who have been saved based on earlier points. 2-1 wins away for both Villa and Accrington also sees them get enough points. Blackburn absolutely batter Everton but their keeper is well on form, only letting a single shot through. Finally a win for Notts County is not enough as they are confirmed to be facing re-election at the up-coming AGM.

Final Weeks Preview
Week 21 Preston North End vs. Accrington West Bromwich Albion vs. Notts County Birmingham St George's vs. Bolton Wanderers Wolverhampton Wanderers vs. Walsall Town Swifts Aston Villa vs. Everton Highlight: Blackburn Rovers vs. Derby County
Highlight: Whoever wins this match will likely be in the better position coming into the final week and will almost certainly finish above their opponent. This could easily confirm the winning team's spot in the league next season, while it is not unlikely the loser will be forced to compete for re-election
Week 22 Notts County vs. Preston North End Bolton Wanderers vs. West Bromwich Albion Highlight: Walsall Town Swifts vs. Birmingham St George's Everton vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers Derby County vs. Aston Villa Accrington vs. Blackburn Rovers
Highlight: The two new teams face off in the league with a spot in the 1890-91 season potentially on the line for both teams means that this match could have massive ramifications. Walsall will almost certainly be in a final day battle to confirm their spot and St George's could be pulled down into the battle if their match against Bolton doesn't go well. Hopefully this will be an exciting final match for the season.

Week 21 Winning this match is critical to both teams in their hunt for survival and in the end it comes down to a single goal in the 31st minute, which puts Blackburn Rovers is the leading position heading into the final week and actually confirms Derby County will once again face re-election.
Preston North End 2 - 0 Accrington West Bromwich Albion 1 - 0 Notts County Birmingham St George's 2 - 0 Bolton Wanderers Wolverhampton Wanderers 1 - 1 Walsall Town Swifts Aston Villa 1 - 0 Everton
Birmingham St George's confirm their spot in the 1890-91 Football League by absolutely battering Bolton in a match I'm sure had a massive after party. Walsall Town Swifts keep themselves in the fight by scoring a draw against Wolves where they looked the better team. Finally Everton's fate will be in the hands of the AGM after it is confirmed they cannot reach the safety of 8th place.
Heading into the final day, Walsall Town Swifts need to win their match against Birmingham St George's and close a 3 goal gap between them and Blackburn. If Blackburn can score a single point, they will confirm their spot in the next Football League season on the final day, for the second time in a row.
Week 22
The match starts off well for Walsall as the manage to put a goal past St George's after just 5 minutes. St George's come into the second half win more fire managing to score in the 61st minute, but as the game nears conclusion in the 80th minute Walsall find the winner they need. Now all they can do is hope Accrington can beat Blackburn Rovers by at least 2 goals and they will be in the Football League next year.
Notts County 1 - 3 Preston North End Bolton Wanderers 3 - 1 West Bromwich Albion Everton 1 - 0 Wolverhampton Wanderers Derby County 0 - 2 Aston Villa Accrington 0 - 1 Blackburn Rovers
Heartbreak for Walsall as the result Thorneyholme Road goes the wrong way and Blackburn once again manage to avoid re-election. West Brom lose second place to Villa in a what was a close game with a lot of second half goals. Everton manage to shut-out Wolves completely while Notts County and Preston pull off a result that sums up their respective seasons.

And another season done. As with last season, tomorrow there will be a poll up for people to vote on for the 1890 AGM, which will feature the bottom 4, 7 teams from the Football Alliance and Sunderland AFC. I just want to again thank everyone for reading along this far. Having people's votes in the AGM made this season really interesting to see a bunch of new teams competing.
If anybody has any feedback/advice/suggestions, such as wanting to see more/less of what's happening in the Football Alliance (voting in their AGM?), now is a great time to let me know!
And for those interested, these are the IRL League tables from the 1889-90 Season and the link to the gallery for the season is here

Pretty nice season there. Is it time someone stops PNE? Anyway, I'll maintain my criteria in voting for the re-election.
