VINCE MCMAHON ANNOUNCES THE XTREME FOOTBALL LEAGUE
Vince McMahon announces a revolutionary ground breaking new football league called the Xtreme Football League, kicking off in February 2001. Vince says the XFL is the kind of football that the NFL used to be. This is smash mouth wide open football. He announces the coaches, teams and players and the stadiums. Vince goes on to say the NFL stands for the No Fun League, the XFL is the Xtra Fun League. The XFL will take the fans places the NFL is afraid to go to. Vince McMahon partnered with CBS's Dick Ebersole back in February to start working on this project.

IVORY RETAINS WWF WOMENS CHAMPIONSHIP AGAINST CHYNA, CHYNA BREAKS HER NECK
Ivory went on to defend her WWF Womens Championship against the Ninth Wonder of the World and former champion, Chyna. Chyna dominated the match from the start with punches and a big slam to the champion. Ivory tried to leave through the crowd by Chyna stopped her and threw her over the barricade to the floor. Chyna then kept the dominace on Ivory looking like Chyna would be the new Womens Champions. Steven Rihards runs down to the ring but Chyna takes him out quickly. Chyna with a back elbow on Ivory but Chyna collapsed on the mat holding her neck in pain. Ivory crawled over to the challenger and pinned Chyna to retain the WWF Womens Championships. EMTs came down to the ring and brought Chyna to the back. WWE medical staff helps Chyna to the back. The Ninth Wonder of the World suffered a broken neck in a match with Ivory.

CHRIS BENOIT SUBMITS THE ONE BILLY GUNN TO WIN THE WWF INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP
The first championship change of the new year happened on the very first night of 2001. the One Billy Gunn defended WWF Intercontinental Championship against the Crippler Chris Benoit. Benoit started off aggressive with strikes to the champion. Gunn reversed it and threw Benoit over the top rope on the floor. The two men battled outside until Gunn threw Benoit into the steel steps. Gunn would work on Benoit until Benoit counted Gunn and started working on Gunn's legs. Benoit hit his triple German Suplex but Gunn kicked out at two. Gunn got the offensive by a powerslam to Benoit. Gunn went for the Fameasser but only got a two count. Benoit got the upper hand and applied the Crossface on the champion, but the champion got a rope break. Gunn hit a slam on Benoit and then tried another Fameasser but Benoit reversed it and took the champion down and applied the Crippler Crossface in the middle of the ring forcing Billy Gunn to tap out and make Chris Benoit the new WWF Intercontinental Champion.
Benoit got the submission and the Intercontinental Championship on the very first episode of RAW of 2001.

RIKISHI WINS FATAL FOUR WAY TO BECOME 30TH ENTRANT IN THE ROYAL RUMBLE
Four superstars battled to become the last entrant in the Royal Rumble match with Kane, Rikishi, the Rock and the Undertaker battling in a Fatal Four Way. The four men brawled inside and outside of the ring with multiple broken up pin fall attempts. Undertaker hit Kane with a Tombstone Pilvedriver but the Rock broke up the pin, the Rock then hit the Undertaker with a Rock Bottom but Rikishi broke up that up. Rikishi took the Rock up for the Rikishi Driver but the Rock reversed it and attempted to hit a Rock Bottom on Rikishi but Kane came running into the Rock with a big boot, Rikishi took Kane and hit him with a Rikishi Driver for the 1-2-3 and to become the 30th entrant in the 2001 Royal Rumble.

Being founed by Nightmare Danny Davis, the Ohio Valley Wrestling has become the new primary development territory for the World Wrestling Federation. All future WWF stars will go through Ohio Valley Wrestling and develop the skills needed to be called up to the main show. The role of booker and show writer will be appointed by Jim Cornette. The first OVW event will take place in a few weeks.

HAKU DEFEATS WILLIAM REGAL TO WIN THE WWF EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP
Last night at the Royal Rumble, Haku made his return to the World Wrestling Federation in the Royal Rumble match. Haku eliminated the WWF European Champion, William Regal. After attacking Haku in the backstage of RAW the next night, William Regal challenged Haku to a championship match on SmackDown. Regal came out and bad mouthed Haku saying that his elimination at the Royal Rumble was a fluke and he's bloody ready to get his revenge. Haku came out and without saying anything hits Regal with a flurry of punches and finally a side kick to the face. Regal rolls outside and applies the Tongan Death Grip on Regal who proceeded to tap out. With that dominate win over Regal, Haku is now the WWF European Championship.
