JOHN BRADSHAW LAYFIELD vs EDDIE GUERRERO FOR THE WWE CHAMPIONSHIP INSIDE A STEEL CAGE
JBL took on Eddie Guerrero in Guerrero's WWE Championship rematch and challenged JBL to a Steel Cage match with no interference. The match got brutal and bloody with JBL hitting a huge superplex off the tope rope onto Guerrero. Eddie Guerrero went to escape the cage but once he got to the top Guerrero hit a massive Frog Splash instead and landed straight on the champion. Guerrero could not make the pinfall as he hurt his ribs doing the splash so both men were down until they started climbing the cage at the same exact time. Both men sat on the top of the cage and were exchanging punches before the Basham Brothers and Orlando Jordan ran down to ring side. Guerrero fought off both Bashams before Orlando Jordan pushed Guerrero back into the cage. JBL then got assisted down with help from the Bashams and both feet touched the floor and John Bradshaw Layfield retained the WWE Championship. Guerrero then became frustrated and started to argue with the injured SmackDown! General Manager Kurt Angle before Guerrero pushed Angle and walked to the back.
In a shocking turn of events, Eddie Guerrero leaped off the top of the steel cage onto John Bradshaw Layfield. Unfortunately for Latino Heat, JBL with help from Basham Brothers and Orlando Jordan helped JBL retain the WWE Championship
