Apologies if this is the wrong place to ask but from those sharing their show/bookings/card from their TEW save on this thread I noticed that booking pre-show segments are quite common.
Logically, this is what I did when first playing TEW but I stopped completely after noticing two things: 1) It would result in negative momentum for all workers involved (what's the point in doing it then?) 2) The match ratings were 9 out of 10 times, terrible and regardless of who or how I booked it.
I know 1) isn't that huge of a deal because you can get someone out of negative momentum after a few shows/good booking but still it just felt like the only thing it achieved was creating unwanted negative momentum across my roster using pre-show segments.
If this is the wrong place to ask this then please move it somewhere else.

My most recent promotion Southeastern Championship Wrestling sold out the Alamodome! There were 40,000 butts in seats! The show was Instant Classic 2010 and garnered 3 million viewers too! The main event featured Road Warrior Animal giving up his Opportunity Briefcase for his championship match with Curt Hennig for the SECW Heavyweight Championship. The match scored a 76 rating and both competitors but in an awesome effort. Curt Hennig is a dominating champion. In other news, SECW owner Stevie DeVille has taken over the company World Championship Wrestling. Ted Turner is still overseeing business operations with the company and a new booker has been appointed, Gabe Sapolsky! This brings the child companies to 5. All-Japan Pro Wrestling Ring Of Honor Pro Wrestling Guerilla Full Impact Pro World Championship Wrestling
At this time, I am planning to keep all 5 companies running. I am trying to buy out and pillage TNA. They are still doing too good to get taken over. My SECW roster is huge and I have 2 shows, but still do not get to all of my talent, with some still waiting to DEBUT. I really want SECW to have a monopoly on Southern US wrestling though.

In another save, in another promotion, Lone Star Wrestling, I have formed a new stable, The Bloodline. It is made of Samoan wrestlers of Anoa'i wrestling dynasty; Umaga, Romain Reigns and Manu. Tama Tonga was part of it until I realized he's not in that complicated family tree. I intend to add more wrestlers from the Anoa'i family tree if they are available, like The Uso Brothers. I have a Round Robin tag team tournament starting up with the winners claiming the LSW Tag Team Championship. Formerly Miss Elizabeth, now just Elizabeth, has returned to wrestling and will be accompanying "The Phenomenal One" AJ Styles down to the ring. Brody Lee is facing off against Bryan Danielson with Danielson's title shot on the line. Dean Malenko is going to have his hands full against fan favorite, SABU. "The Iceman" believes he will get Sabu to submit. The incomparable Bruiser Brody could be facing off against The Stalker (Barry Windham) as he makes his way to the top of LSW. Carlito Colon, Matt Striker, and Teddy Hart are waiting in the wings for their chance to show LSW and the world what they can do. Lone Star Wrestling boasts impressive child companies who the promotion hope to pick more top talent from in the future.

I ran a Lone Star Wrestling TV show last night featuring matches from the LSW Tag Team Championship Round Robin championship. The product for my promotion affects all of these matches. They are expected to be longer, I'm thinking 20 minutes. So just the tag matches alone push a TV show over an hour. It's crazy. I am resenting this product type. The first round went okay. My teams right now are a little mediocre. I booked Kevin Von Erich against Bruiser Brody in the main event. The match was punishment against Von Erich for just being a Von Erich. He wants to make it to the top? Prove it. The match got a 76 I think. Bruiser Brody was rated at a 91 for the match. That is one of the highest scores any performer has ever gotten, in any booking I have ever done in TEW 2020. The match went to a time limit draw with the post match, show-ending angle being Bruiser Brody taking KVE outside the ring and putting him through a table. Dean Malenko also defeated Sabu in what was called a superb match by submission to the Texas Cloverleaf. I also sent away some wrestlers on my roster to one of my child companies Mid-South Wrestling. I wasn't doing anything with them and their momentum sucks. Maybe AI will book them better than me.

TNA Lockdown 2007: Two big steel cage matches, Orton vs. Styles, a big announcement, Storm vs. Sting, and the X-Division title is up for grabs! Main Event/Steel Cage Match: Kurt Angle vs. “The Instant Classic” Christian Cage- Ever since Unbreakable last year, and even Angle’s interactions with Team Canada members Storm and Williams, Cage and Angle has embodied in this war. Now at Lockdown, it all comes down in the SIX SIDES OF STEEL! On Impact! Angle had a freak out and start hitting members of Team Canada with chairs! Weeks after, people were expecting TNA to push Angle for his misdeeds, but instead Angle was allowed to settle his differences with Cage in this dangerous envoirnment, and now Cage has no where to run. Semi-Final:”The Viper” “The Leading Man” Randy Orton (C) vs. “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship- After teaming with Daniels to take on RK-Jarrett and Daniels getting another shot at the NWA title at the losing effort, AJ Styles steps up to take on the Leading Man! Double Title Steel Cage Match: Team 3D (Brother Ray & Brother Devon) (C) vs. Latin American Xchange (“The Notorious 187” Homicide & “Super Mex” Hernandez) for the NWA World Tag Team & L.A.X. 5150 Latin American Tag Team Championships- L.A.X. Attempt to regain their titles against Team 3D in the Six Sides of Steel! Singles Match: CM Punk vs. Petey Williams for the vacant X-Division title- Originally, this was supposed to be Lance Storm vs. CM Punk, but sadly, that isn’t the case. During an X-Division title match with Chris Sabin, Lance Storm gained a concussion, and will sadly be out for more than a year. Sabin vacated the X-Division title due refusing to hold a title that won from the champ being injured, and now even if there are rocky terms, Williams steps up to the place to challenge the #1 Contender CM Punk to see who will be the new X-Division champion! 6-Man Tag: Scott Steiner, “The Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels, and “The Alpha Male” Monty Brown vs. RKO Productions (The Briscoe Brothers (Jay & Mark Briscoe) and Jeff Jarrett)- A 6-Man tag putting Scott Steiner and former NWA Champions Daniels & Brown vs. RKO Productions Jarrett and the Briscoes! 3-on-1 Handicap: Jay Lethal, KENTA, and Marufuji vs. “The Samoan Submission Machine” Samoa Joe- At Destination X, we saw a unhinged Samoa Joe attack three people, due to his displeasure with what was supposed to be his dream match. Ever since then, Joe has been attacking and beating down members of the X-Division:Jerry Lynn, Elix Skipper, Jay Lethal, KENTA & Marufuji. Now the latter 3 team up to take on Joe 3 on 1. Will the Samoan Submission Machine Bulldozer through the competiton? 8-Man Tag: Team Canada (“The Golden Star” Kota Ibushi, “Showtime” Eric Young, Robert Roode, and Kenny Omega) vs. The Amazing Red, Ultimo Dragon, and the Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley)- An 8-Man tag putting Team Canada up against the legendary Ultimo Dragon, Motor City Machine Guns, and The Amazing Red! Special Singles Match: “The Icon” Sting vs. “The Cowboy” James Storm- James Storm has been on winning ways recently, and now has challenged The Icon to a 1 on 1 match! Can Storm make the big step in his career!
Talking Points:
-TNA is leaving the NWA! -And at No Surrender, a match will be decided for the last NWA Champion and the 1ST TNA WORLD CHAMPION! -PETEY WILLIAMS TURNED ON CHRISTIAN CAGE! -CM PUNK HAS WON THE X-DIVISION TITLE! -ABYSS IS BACK IN TNA! -CHRIS HARRIS IS BACK IN TNA!
Next time, it's No Surrender, the final PPV of the NWA era!

ramen How did you get such high scores for the segments/angles about the NWA and TNA? Did that occur because of Dusty Rhodes and Roddy Piper? Sometimes I run free style angles with major stars and get hit with a note that my score reflected nothing of note happening. Do you know how long all of that was? Looks like 6 segments. Did they all feature Rhodes and Piper? Congrats on the perfect score of your main event! A perfect match.

Over the weekend my Southwest Championship Wrestling promotion pillaged several companies, and closed them. Lucha Underground is gone. I pillaged it, taking the best talent I could find. Thing is, this mod WOTI VI has some low rated skills for these LU workers. I would think many of them would be much higher. Anyways, I took who I thought would fit with my IWRG Lucha Libre brand and send others to developmental, like Chikara. The Japanese independent promotions Hustle and Big Japan are both gone as well. I pillaged them and signed some pretty decent talent from Hustle like Toshiaki Kawada. I will Kawada working in AJPW, one of my child companies, and Pro Wrestling NOAH. I might change this so I do not burn him out. I have of 20 female wrestlers on my SWCW roster, I just haven't been able to really get that division going. My SWCW: IWRG brand has taken up a lot of my time. When I took pillaged the IWRG company I mistakenly took on 2 TV shows and their events. So those shows tape multiple shows at a time which take up a lot of my time booking. So the rest of my SWCW doesn't get booked as frequently. I am trying to change this so I do not have to book so much Lucha Libre. Oh yeah, I signed Dusty Rhodes to SWCW. As well as AJ Lee and The Miz. The three of them will hopefully have their contracts starting soon. So SWCW took up a lot of my time in TEW2020 this past weekend but there was some high points in between what can feel tedious and monotonous.
