NXT - The Gold Standard

Booker's Notes: Decided to give the recent signings a Dark match. I really love Ali from his work in DPW and decided to give him the boost he needed. Could've been a better rating though.

The show opens with NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov, going up to the door of NXT head, Shawn Michaels. He knocks on the door, and Shawn answers, welcoming Ilja and praising him for him being the face of the company, but Dragunov is not into compliments, he's into business. He tells Shawn that he has beaten everyone who could legitimately be considered a threat to him, and Shawn then says that he's got an opponent for him, someone who's on the caliber of him in the ring and in star power, but he needs to tell him secretly first, letting him know the crowd can know at the very tail end of the show. Dragunov and Shawn both enter the office and close the door behind them to talk about who this opponent is.

Booker's Notes: People enjoy Lexis King ironically, right? Well, I'm gonna give him a decent push and see if he sinks or swims.

After defeating his opponent, Lexis leans on the ropes, looking into the crowd and saying that winning a match against a glorified cheerleader isn't going to be enough for him. He needs gold around his waist, gold that he can shove in other's face, then immediately announces that he is coming for Dragon Lee and his North American title.

Booker's Notes: Yeah, bro is sinking.

Booker's Notes: D'Angelo carried this match on his back and it goes to show how good he actually is.

Booker's Notes: You can always count on Corbin to deliver a good match, even with an unlikely opponent.

After losing to Corbin, the rest of Chase U try to life Hudson's spirits, but he instead pushes them aside.

Booker's Notes: This is my way of pushing Tiffy down the card without really making her look bad. Gonna keep Lyra dominant for the time being.

Joe Gacy is in a dark room backstage, and he talks about several things all at once, second chances, opportunity, confidence, he doesn't specify who he's talking about, but wants to let everyone know that he is aiming for someone.

Booker's Notes: Idk what Gacy has been up to IRL but I'm resetting him and still giving him a creepy vibe. I'm gonna try to make him similar to Bray Wyatt but played a lot more straight.

Booker's Notes: Should've gone better in the rating, but I loved seeing these two face each other in the 2023 Iron Survivor match so I thought a 1v1 would've gone crazy.

Booker's Notes: I threw together the Nikkita and Henley team, but also, this is one of the matches I didn't expect to book because I forgot the WWE Women's Tag titles were alliance titles.

To end the show, NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov comes out to address to the crowd about his opponent, after an hour of selecting choices and going through all possible options, Dragunov picked the perfect opponent. One of the best prospects in Japan today, he's a guy that could very well beat him for the title, from All Japan Pro Wrestling, he reveals Katsuhiko Nakajima as his next opponent for the NXT title!

Booker's Notes: This is about to be insane.

Post-Show Notes: Despite not really watching much NXT I was able to book a solid show with their talent.

The main event of next week's NXT will be Katsuhiko Nakajima coming to the United States and he will be facing Chad Gable!

Booker's Notes: Big fan of both of these girls. VENY is getting a win here because I wanna prop her up as a big deal.
