Going forward there will be two half hour episodes of PWF Preview made available throughout the week to hype each week’s episode of PWF TV. They will initially air on the live stream, before being made available on demand. This week both were released back-to-back on January 1, 2024 to start the hype towards our first episode. For this part of the book, I will use the recaps from our very own brief recaps and fan survey results from the PWF website for the PWF Preview episodes and PWF TV, before supplementing with my thoughts around the intent behind the various segments on the PWF TV show.
***
PWF Preview #1 Recap:
Episode opened with these words on the screen: Prime; adjective; to have the highest quality; excellent. After that faded to the PWF logo, the show opened with a short video from Shane McMahon talking about how PWF aim was to provide a quality blend of entertainment, storytelling, and great in ring action. His hype went into wrestlers striving for excellence as they compete for the PWF Championship, the blend of talent from around the world that will compete in the PWF Women’s division, how tag teams will be a big part of the PWF, and the return of high-flying excitement with the Flight division. He thanked the fans and said he looked forward to seeing them every Thursday as part of PWF TV!
After the opening it was announced that the main event of the first episode of PWF TV would see two wild brawlers competing to prove who was best when “Hangman” Adam Page faced off against Sami Callihan. A sit-down interview with both men was promised to appear on each episode of this week’s PWF Preview.
Mauro Ranallo narrated a short video on the history of lightweights in the history of wrestling, utilizing still images provided from various wrestling magazines. This short video highlighted wrestlers from Mexico such as El Santo, Gory Guerrero and the Guerrero family, Blue Demon and Mil Mascaras before moving to legends from the UK like Dynamite Kid, “Rollerball” Rocco, and Marty Jones. It ended by featuring legends from Japan including Tiger Mask and Jushin Thunder Lyger, ending by mentioning that the next feature will focus on the rise of the Cruiserweight’s.
Focus On: Each week will feature a brief look at a specific wrestler from the PWF roster. As part of this week’s segment, it was announced that during the debut episode of PWF TV “The Virtuosa” Deonna Purrazzo would be making her debut. Video was shown from her time in Impact Wrestling (given full credit with the footage as well as promotion of their upcoming Hard To Kill PPV. The segment ended with Purrazzo briefly appearing and promising to take women’s wrestling to new heights in the PWF.
This episode ended with a ten-minute interview with Adam Page, spliced with footage of him at his house, with the focus being on how Adam Page plans on becoming the first PWF Champion to prove to the whole world that he’s no longer the “sad cowboy,” but a Champion that his children (yes, he said plural) can be proud of.
PWF Preview #2 Recap:
In the second video on the history of high fliers, Maura Ranallo spoke about the evolution of the style with the birth of the Cruiserweight division utilizing wrestlers from Mexico and ECW, before moving into speaking about the X-Division in TNA wrestling and focusing on how in PWF there would be a flight division based around wrestlers who represent the lineage of these high fliers and the next step. It is announced that the first episode of PWF TV will open with a match featuring six wrestlers who make up the flight division: Cinta de Oro, Jack Evans and Jordan Oliver vs. El Hijo del Vikingo, Paul London and Samuray del Sol.
Focus On: The focus was on HAMMERSTONE and how wrestling was his motivation to go from a depressed, overweight and out of shape teen, to the chiseled body that he has now and his plans to compete for the PWF Championship.
The show ended with a sit-down interview with Sami Callihan in the streets where he explained that he was an agent of chaos and that he wasn’t in the PWF to make friends, make money, or win Championships. “I’m just here to make the world burn!”
PWF TV #1-January 4, 2024 (3, 989, 165 viewers)
A video, narrated by Shane McMahon, welcomed the world to the Prime…Wrestling…Federation!
In a poor match, El Hijo del Vikingo, Paul London and Samuray del Sol defeated Cinta de Oro, Jack Evans and Jordan Oliver in 9:32 when El Hijo del Vikingo pinned Jordan Oliver with a 630 Senton. The match was designed so that the wrestlers could go out and try to steal the show. (54)
A video played showing off the strength of the wrestler introduced as HAMMERSTONE! This was an edited version of the Focus On video from PWF Preview #2
A short video showed clips of the interviews conducted on PWF Preview showing Adam Page discussing his desire to become PWF Champion, and Sami Callihan promising chaos and pain for anyone who gets in his way.
In a bout that didn't have much heat and terrible wrestling, Deonna Purrazzo defeated Leva Bates in 7:53 by submission with a Fujiwara Armbar. The match was designed to tell a specific story. (40)
After the match Deonna Purrazzo grabbed a microphone and began to talk about how she was the best Women’s wrestler in the PWF and she was going to dominate the entire division….but is interrupted by the familiar strain of “Bad Reputation” and out walked…”ROWDY” RONDA ROUSEY! The fans erupted as Rousey slowly made her way down to the ring, while an inset camera view showed Deonna Purrazzo standing in the ring alternating from disbelief to annoyance. Rousey got into the ring and stood face to face with Purrazzo to end the segment.
PWF Owner Shane McMahon makes his way out to the ring to thank the fans and announce that next week we would see the in-ring debut of HAMMERSTONE, more action from the Flight division, wrestling legend Mickie James against Alysin Kay, and making their way to this very ring it will be Matt and Nick Jason, The Young Bucks! Now sit back and enjoy tonight’s Main Event of “Hangman” Adam Page and Sami Calihan!
In a decent wild brawl, Adam Page defeated Sami Callihan in 10:50 by pinfall with a Buckshot Lariat. (73)
Page was celebrating the fans, when the celebration was interrupted by a short video on the screen. The video was quite gritty and featured a gloved hand rubbing a black mask while a voice translated some Spanish words that hyped the PWF, and especially the PWF Championship. The video ended by saying “he was coming” without any indication of who “he” was.
Overall Rating: 63
With no footage of wrestlers competing for the PWF yet there is nothing to create a true opening video, so we went with something simple here that was a callback to something my father had said previously. Live in the arena they saw this video but were also being hyped up so that as soon as we went live in the AWS Arena it was loud.
This opening match represented what our plans are for the flight division, something that Mauro Ranallo did his best to explain throughout the match. The focus of the flight division will be on wrestlers who take to the sky with flashy, daredevil like moves to try and defeat their opponents. Ranallo explained that the tag rules will be similar to those found in Lucha Libre matches where a tag is not required if a wrestler leaves the ring, one man from their team can enter the ring to continue the flow of the match. Of course, the big question on everyone’s mind after this match was how in the world El Hijo del Vikingo was able to take part in the match. After I connected with Chavo Guerrero Jr. he helped me get in touch with Konnan. As most are aware there is a version of a talent exchange agreement in place between AAA and AEW, but it has become a bit fractured in the last year or, with Konnan in particular being quite outspoken towards Tony Khan. During my discussion with Konnan he approached about having a similar arrangement with the PWF, that soon turned to El Hijo del Vikingo in particular. Konnan let me know that his contract only prevented him from working with one company in particular, you can guess which one. This was confirmed when his contract was sent to our lawyers, and from there we agreed to bring him in and I was so ecstatic. As part of the deal Konnan has agreed to serve as his on screen manager, and even to help with our booking team.
The next two segments were put together using footage from the PWF Preview episodes. This was to serve two purposes. The first is to hype the PWF Preview episodes, but also to utilize the information from the PWF Preview shows to explain the motivation of HAMMERSTONE, Adam Page, and Sami Callihan.
While Leva Bates will mostly be used in backstage capacity, helping to lead our PWF fan club, we used her out there because we know she was a wrestler who could easily get the fans behind her. The purpose of this match was to help Deonna Purrazzo look good for fans who might not be as familiar with her work. This is important as we have big plans for Purrazzo in the next few months.
The one downside of running an interview segment in the ring right after the match is that Purrazzo was struggling a bit to catch her breath at first, but I think she was able to get her point across and displayed her cockiness when it came to the PWF Women’s division. This made sure the fans were ready to turn on her, when Ronda Rousey made her debut as the first big surprise in the history of the PWF. To explain the backstory behind this appearance, again it would not have been possible without Mickie James and Lisa Marie Varon both reaching out to Ronda to encourage her to talk to me. When I did Rousey let me know she loved wrestling still, but felt so jaded after her experience in a major wrestling company. I tried my best to speak to the fan side of her, and laid out how I would like to use her, and how my goal was to try and help her have a better ending to her professional wrestling career if she indeed decided she was done. It took many phone calls, and some tough negotiation, but Rousey is here and someone who is going to go a long way to adding legitimacy to the women’s division in the PWF.
My segment was short and meant to hype the fans in attendance for what was going to come during the taped episode of PWF TV so that they would continue to be engaged even when we weren’t live anymore. Secondly, of course it was meant to hype up the episode of PWF TV for when it aired “live” next week on Prime Video.
To be honest, the main event match of Adam Page vs. Sami Callihan far exceeded my expectations. With Page having been written off AEW TV back in November after his brutal match with Swerve Strickland he had not been in competition for almost two months and so a bit of ring rust was expected. Same for Callihan after his time with Impact Wrestling came to an end. But these two men went out there and beat the snot out of each other, including the first fight in the crowd at the AWS Arena, before Page got the big victory and then celebrated with the fans in attendance…until he was interrupted by a short and mysterious video as the debut episode of PWF TV came to an end.

PWF Preview #3 Recap:
The first five minutes were a short recap of the action from the debut episode of PWF TV and hyping that Ronda Rousey and the Young Bucks would both be talking to the crowd this week.
Focus On: Alicia Atout hosted a sit-down interview with Lio Rush who was acting cool and cocky as he spoke about his history and how he will be the face of the flight division in the PWF.
Mauro Ranallo narrated a video on the history of Ronda Rousey, including her early fandom of wrestling and “Rowdy” Roddy Piper in particular, showing her bronze medal from judo at the 2008 Olympics, her history in UFC, her career in wrestling and her return at PWF TV to set up her in-ring interview with Alicia Atout this week on PWF TV.
The end of this episode was part 1 of an interview with The Young Bucks, featuring Matt and Nick Jason talking about their history in wrestling, while showing footage from some of their independent matches, and them talking about their family and ended with 2019 before promising more in the next PWF Preview.
PWF Preview #4 Recap:
The first five minutes were a short recap of the action from the debut episode of PWF TV and hyping that Ronda Rousey and the Young Bucks would both be talking to the crowd this week.
To hype the next match in the flight division that would feature Aramis, Black Taurus, and Lio Rush a short video showed clips of Aramis and Black Tarus competing in AAA.
Focus On: The focus this week was on Mickie James and her lengthy career in wrestling, her history in music, and spoke in kayfabe terms about her role in scouting and signing wrestlers for the women’s division in the PWF.
The second part of the interview featured The Young Bucks speaking a bit about the pride they had in helping to lead the first major competitor in the North American wrestling scene since 2001. They talked about their many friendships in the industry and a bit about how they had left to join the PWF as they wanted to continue to grow their legacy but felt like they needed a bit of a fresh start after the events of the last year. They spoke about how they couldn’t wait to get in front of the PWF fans this week and then ended with some family photo’s hyping their faith, family and friends lifestyles.
PWF TV #2-January 11, 2024 (3, 126, 241 viewers)
Opening video showed clips from last week, with the end focusing on the face-to-face confrontation between Deonna Purrazzo and Ronda Rousey.
In a bout that had decent wrestling but little heat, Lio Rush defeated Black Taurus and Aramis in 10:20 when Lio Rush pinned Aramis with a Dragon's Call. The match was designed so that the wrestlers could go out and try to steal the show. (57)
After the match Lio Rush grabbed a microphone and talked about how the whole world was buzzing about El Hijo del Vikingo, but that it was time for everyone to feel the Rush!
A video from last week saw Alicia Atout try to catch up with an irritated Adam Page as he was leaving the arena after the interruption last week. Atout tried to ask Page about it, but Page blew her off and said he was only here to become PWF Champion and he didn’t care who the man in the mask was.
In a wild brawl that had sub-par wrestling and little heat, HAMMERSTONE defeated Jessie Godderz in 3:23 by pinfall with a Nightmare Pendulum.
After the match HAMMERSTONE told Godderz that “this was how you posed” and then went into a pose routine to hype up the fans.
Alicia Atout was in the ring and introduced “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey to the fans. Rousey came out and spoke about how she had heard everything the fans said about her not loving the business, and she was here in PWF to show everyone how wrong they were because she loved wrestling. And as for “The Virtuosa” thinking she is the best women wrestler in the PWF: “we’ll see.”
In a terrible match, QT Marshall defeated Brock Anderson in 6:02 by pinfall with a Glamour Shot- Jumping Flatliner. (43)
A video showed the man with the mask looking down in a sink, before raising his head to stare into a mirror confirming what most fans had put together…the mask in the mask was Andrade El Idolo!
In a poor match, Mickie James defeated Allysin Kay in 10:25 by pinfall with a Mickie-DT. The match was designed to tell a specific story. (50)
The Young Bucks came out and posed for the fans who gave them a long, and loud ovation. They took in the cheers, looking quite emotional at times, before they began to speak about how much they had learned in the last year. They spoke about how grateful they were for their family and “real” friends (said with an edge of bitterness) who had stood behind them even when others were doubting them. They thanked all the wrestling promoters they had worked with in the past, before even thanking Tony Khan for believing in them. “And as for you fans, to you we ow the biggest thanks!” Even louder reaction. “Thank you for making us realize…..just how much we don’t need you, you fickle pricks! You loved us when we put our bodies on the line for you, you bought our merchandise, you even supported us in creating a new company…but the moment someone else came along that you liked more, you turned your backs on us! From now on the only people, we care about us, and those who supported us when all of you were booing us and mocking us and going online and writing bad things about us. From here on out the Young Bucks, Matthew and Nicholas Jackson, are here to dominate the PWF Tag Team division, make a lot of money, and make sure to never do anything to make you self-centered punks cheer for us again!”
Overall Show Rating: 49
The opening video showcased the confrontation between Rousey and Purrazzo last week, while setting up the appearance from Rousey for this week.
The opening match was another great match in the flight division that showcased the skills of all three men. Another thing to add here is the use of the name Black Taurus. While that name is owned by AAA we have been able to license it so that when Black Taurus competes with PWF it will be with his familiar name. Once again, thank you to Konnan for that one.
The post match interview from Lio Rush was short, but helped to further highlight his confident/cocky personality and to establish him as an important member of the flight division.
One of the things that I am hoping to be able to do with PWF TV is give some local talent the opportunity to get some mainstream exposure by competing in what is known as enhancement matches. That began tonight with local wrestlers Jessie Godderz attempting to make his return to wrestling after a lengthy stint in TNA wrestling a decade ago. Of course tonight was all about making HAMMERSTONE looking good, and then throwing in HAMMERSTONE posing for the fans afterwards as a callback to Godderz posing before the match began.
When I had spoken with Ronda Rousey about coming to the PWF it quickly became apparent that she loved wrestling, and had been hurt by how she had been represented. She admitted some of that was her own fault for being jaded after her experiences with certain people, and for some comments she had made in the past that she deeply regretted. This interview segment was about allowing her the opportunity to share this side of herself with the fans, and I think it came across as genuine as I think she genuinely does mean it.
When discussing road agents and coaches, one name that I had not mentioned earlier was QT Marshall. QT came on board early in the formation of the PWF as I knew he would be able to do a few things: work in the back, help train wrestlers, and yes, even be a wrestler on the screen. That was what gave us the edge when QT was comparing offers as he wants to still be able to compete in the ring. For his first match I figured it made sense to put him out there with one of the guys who he will be working to train, even though I knew the fans would probably not appreciate the match that much, but I am hoping that with time Brock Anderson will be able to connect with the fans more.
When the initial video ended last week, most people realized that the masked man was Andrade El Idolo. Most were still surprised though as with his year end release from AEW they figured he would quickly be on his way to join his wife. Reaching out to Andrade right away we discussed some ways that he could increase his value with a run in the PWF, figuratively and literally you could $$$$ay.
Giving the women the main event in our second show is meant to be a sign that we will trust them to carry the show at all points, and not just putting them in the so called “bathroom spot.” And while Kay may not be as familiar to fans worldwide, I thought the women still managed to do a great job in this match.
I knew that the Young Bucks would probably get cheered when they made their way out, after all in the minds of many they had chose the PWF over all other wrestling companies and so they should be cheered. It was clear that the cheers actually even got to Matt and Nick at times, but then they threw that all away and the fans were quick to boo and curse at them. Truthfully, the Bucks are not as young as they once were, but I honestly think that with some changes in their presentation and character, they might be as good as they ever were here in the PWF.

PWF Preview #5
The opening few minutes recapped the action from PWF TV #2.
The second part showed extended footage from The Young Bucks as they were walking from the ring towards the back. They were stopping and throwing streamers at the fans, mockingly ripping off pieces of their ring attired and offering it to the fans and then stopping to do the crotch chops towards the fans before disappearing to the back. It was promised more footage would be shown in PWF Preview #6
Focus On: A video played that showed footage of KUSHIDA and spoke about his wrestling career.
A video played with Mustafa Ali speaking about the revolution he intended to bring to the PWF
Alicia Atout did a sit-down interview with Andrade El Idolo who explained that he had decided to come to the PWF so that he could compete to become the first ever PWF Champion. He also spoke a few moments to talk about his family (including his wife) and how by becoming the first PWF Champion he would be able to solidify his own legacy separate from theirs.
PWF Preview #6
The opening few minutes recapped the action from PWF TV #2, before showing the end of PWF TV #1 and announcing that the main event of PWF #3 would see Adam Page and a tag team partner of his choosing face off against Sami Callihan and a partner of his choosing.
Focus On: The video was about Santana Garrett, focusing on her being a second-generation wrestler, her history in wrestling and specifically her time in STARDOM where she defended the NWA World Women’s Championship and becoming Wonder of Stardom Champion before losing that belt to KAIRI. The segment ended with Garrett talking about how her ambition was to show the whole world that she could still be that good.
In a continuation from the earlier footage, Alicia Atout caught up with the Young Bucks as they walked through the entrance backstage after last week’s PWF TV. Atout asked them what was going on and their response was “for too long we have cared about what other people think, from now on we only care about us and we are going to rule the tag division here in the PWF!”
A video played introducing “The Wanted Man” Nic Nemeth.
The sit-down interview this time was with “Filthy” Tom Lawlor and his agent Dan Lambert. They spoke a bit before turning to Andrade El Idolo and running him down as “he isn’t even as good as his wife, heck he isn’t even as good as his father-in-law is right now!”
PWF #3-January 18, 2024 (4,382,954 viewers)
In a bout that had decent wrestling but little heat, KUSHIDA defeated Flamita, Storm Shepherd and Shun Skywalker in 12:25 when KUSHIDA submitted Storm Shepherd with a Kushida Lock. The match was designed so that the wrestlers could go out and try to steal the show. (63)
Video on Mustafa Ali (from PWF Preview #5)
In a poor match, Deonna Purrazzo defeated Santana Garrett in 7:42 by submission with a Fujiwara Armbar. The match was designed to tell a specific story. (53)
After the match Deonna Purrazzo said that this was exactly what would happen if Ronda Rousey got into the ring with her!
Alicia Atout tried to catch up with Adam Page when he arrived to ask who his tag team partner would be for the Main Event, but Page said he didn’t need a partner and brushed past her.
Andrade El Idolo came out and spoke in front of the fans, speaking about his desire to become the first PWF Champion, and then ended with Andrade calling out Tom Lawlor for a match after his words on PWF Preview #6, or more accurately the words of his agent Dan Lambert.
Video on Nic Nemeth-The Wanted Man (from PWF Preview #6)
Sami Callihan came out first and brought out his tag partner…”The Indy God” Matt Cardona!
In a decent wild brawl, Adam Page and Mustafa Ali defeated Sami Callihan and Matt Cardona in 12:45 when Mustafa Ali pinned Sami Callihan with a Reverse 450. (60)
Overall Rating: 65
I knew that the opening match this week would feature a lot of wrestlers that may not be well known to the fans. But I also knew that they would put on a great show and they did not disappoint and got the show off to a hot start by the time it was over. For those wondering Storm Shepherd used to go by the name Australian Suicide, but it was a name I wanted to change as I was not a fan of it. His new name combines the stage name of one of his trainers, Lance Storm, with his true last name.
One of the things that should be mentioned about the video on Mustafa Ali is that he was the major force behind getting it filmed and the content as he seeks to create a new character that can represent a positive vision for the future in a world that can sometimes be all too negative.
The next match was again about showcasing the PWF women’s division, but specifically Purrazzo who picked up another victory via submission and then got to respond to Ronda Rousey’s comments from last week.
I believe that Adam Page really portrays the angry, lone wolf quite well which I think came away nicely with this attempt at an interview segment.
The same comments from earlier about Mustafa Ali were true about Nic Nemeth who helped produce this new video where Nemeth spoke about how at one time the fans had loved him, and how he had repeatedly risked his health and wellbeing for them and it got him nowhere. They forgot about him and started to cheer for every new guy who could do a flip or two. But now was his time to remind the world how good he was as company after company was competing for his services. “I guess you could say that once again…I am a wanted man!”
Recap video of The Young Bucks turning on the fans last week and promising a new attitude going forward.
I think the way that Matt Cardona has managed to become a self-made man on the independent scenes the last few years has been amazing. And so when the PWF became official he was one of the first wrestlers I reached out to see if he would be willing to appear for us. While there are no set plans for how long he will be around, you can expect to see “The Indy God” in the build up to PWF Prime I at the very least.
The main event saw Adam Page go at it against both men to begin, but they were soon able to wear him down. It was at that moment that Mustafa Ali came out and got on the ring apron, which allowed for the tag from Page. From there we got a great main event, with Ali getting the big victory. Most importantly the cameraman got a perfect shot of Adam Page looking on with a mixture of disbelief and frustration when Ali got the victory for their team.

PWF Preview #7
As per normal, PWF Preview began with a quick recap of PWF TV #3. It ended with Alicia Atout announcing that she would have an interview with very special guests on PWF #4.
Focus On: This week focused on “Filthy” Tom Lawlor and his history in MMA before transitioning into wrestling and included a look at his alliance with Dan Lambert.
In exclusive footage from last week, Alicia Atout tried to interview Adam Page as he was coming back from the match but he ignored her and walked on by, leaving Atout looking frustrated. But she managed to catch up with Ali who said that he was not about to stand by and let someone like Adam Page get destroyed by two other wrestlers, that is not what the revolution is about. It’s about helping your fellow man when you see the need.
A short video played highlighting action from the women’s division in the PWF thus far.
In the main interview Alicia Atout sat down with Konnan and El Hijo del Vikingo. It was a basic introduction to Vikingo, but ended with Atout asking Konnan about the comments from Lio Rush from last week with Konnan saying they would have a response for Rush soon.
PWF Preview #8
As per normal, PWF Preview began with a quick recap of PWF TV #3. It ended with Alicia Atout announcing that she would have an interview with very special guests on PWF #4. She further went on that this interview would feature members of one of the most famous families in the wrestling world.
In exclusive footage Alicia Atout interview Sami Callihan and Matt Cardona after their loss last week. Callihan did not seem that upset about the loss as he spoke about the seeds of dissent sown between Page and Ali. Cardona mostly brushed that off and spoke about how he was here to become the PWF Champion.
Focus On: Jack Evans including talking about his history with the Hart family, his history of being a part of high-flying divisions, and how this was essentially his last chance after having screwed up everywhere he went.
The main event interview was with Deonna Purrazzo who used the time to explain her history and why she was not happy about Ronda Rousey trying to steal her spotlight.
PWF #4-January 25, 2024 (3,609, 657 viewers)
In a bout that had decent wrestling but didn't have much heat, El Hijo del Vikingo, KUSHIDA and Andrew Everett defeated Black Taurus, Cinta de Oro and Jack Evans in 11:28 when El Hijo del Vikingo pinned Black Taurus with a 630 Senton. The match was designed so that the wrestlers could go out and try to steal the show. Lio Rush joined the commentary team to provide commentary during the match.
Konnan grabbed a microphone to tell Lio Rush that if he knows what is good for him, he won’t speak the name El Hijo del Vikingo again! A close up shot on Lio Rush saw him looking less than impressed.
A video hyped Alicia Atout’s talk show tonight with special guests….THE VON ERICH FAMILY!
Alicia Atout caught up with Mustafa Ali after his victory last week, but they are interrupted by Adam Page who said he did not need Ali’s help, and that the only thing Page cares about is the PWF Championship, and he will go through Ali if he needs to in order to win the belt. Page stormed off and Ali ended the segment by saying: “you’re welcome!”
In a poor match, Mickie James defeated Zoey Skye in 7:43 by pinfall with a Mickie-DT. The match was designed to tell a specific story. (47)
As James was celebrating, the music of “The Virtuosa” Deonna Purrazzo played. Purrazzo came out and told Mickie to leave the ring before calling out Ronda Rousey. Commentary made sure to point out that Rousey was not here this week. When Rousey did not come out, Purrazzo said “and you wonder why the fans don’t like you? Well no worries, the best women’s wrestler in the world was standing right here!”
Alicia Atout brought out the Von Erich family and they spoke about wrestling and promoted The Iron Claw movie. They were interrupted by The Young Bucks who came out to “introduce themselves, we are Matthew and Nicholas Jackson, The Young Buckz…and yes, that is Buckz with a z.” Kevin Von Erich explained that he thought it was pretty rude of them to interrupt their interview, but The Young Buckz brushed him off and said “they were the best brother tag team in the history of wrestling, and we just wanted to make sure you know that.” This resulted in Marshall Von Erich issuing a challenge for a match right now, but the Jacksons responded by telling them to calm down “maybe you should seek some therapy, we aren’t here for a fight just to say hello…but uh, we’ll be going now” and with that they retreated from the ring.
In a bout that had a decent reaction from the crowd but sub-par wrestling, Andrade El Idolo defeated Tom Lawlor in 12:55 by pinfall with a Hammerlock DDT. The match was designed to tell a specific story. (54)
Overall Rating: 58
Once more the flight division was in full display to start off the show with El Hijo del Vikingo walking away with the pin fall victory for his team. An added wrinkle was Lio Rush joining the commentary table to provide his thoughts, which mostly involved him running down all the wrestlers in the match. Of course his specific focus seemed to be on El Hijo del Vikingo. After the match Konnan was able to grab a microphone and respond to Lio Rush with a threat to further build the feud between his client and Lio Rush.
After the build up on PWF Preview, Alicia Atout was able to announce that tonight she would be doing a special in ring interview with Kevin, Ross and Marshall Von Erich! The Von Erich’s have been out there for a while making appearances with several companies, but after the success of The Iron Claw movie I could not believe anyone had not reached out to sign them full time and I cannot wait to see what they are able to do in the PWF.
Ali once again got to get some microphone time with Alicia Atout before being interrupted by Adam Page who continues to come off as angry and even a bit unhinged at times, but with one singular focus, becoming PWF Champion.
Zoey Skye was another local talent we brought in to have a decent looking match with Mickie James. After the match Purrazzo got to show off some of her charisma as she dismissed Mickie from the ring and then called out Rousey (who it should be noted was not in the building when the challenge was made).
Introducing The Von Erich’s to the PWF fans was the main part of the interview segment, but it also allowed the Young Buckz (yes, with a z) to come out and further develop their new characters.
The main event went pretty good with both men putting on good showings before Andrade got the victory to cement his status as one of the best wrestlers in the PWF.
