SUPERBRAWL V (Feb. 19, 1995)
Arn Anderson and Marcus Alexander Bagwell defeated The Steiner Brothers (Rick Steiner and Scott Steiner) when A. Anderson pinned
S. Steiner with the DDT in 12:01.
Rating: *** 3/4
In the weeks leading up to Superbrawl, Arn Anderson called out the Steiner Brothers saying the last time they were around, they had a tendency to stick their nose in Horsemen business. He warned them to learn from past mistakes and stay far away.
The Steiners countered saying they didn’t care about the Horsemen, their goal coming back to WCW was to once again become champions and prove they are the best team in the world, and if they have to go through the Horsemen to do it, so be it.
The war of words escalated into tonight’s match with Anderson and Bagwell representing the Horsemen. The match itself with a pretty nice back-and-forth affair, but the Horsemen’s tendency to always look for a cheap shot or an illegal edge pushed the match into their favor.

Rating: **
(Johnny B. Badd retained the WCW UNITED STATES TITLE.)
DDP made a claim that he could go through both Steamboat and Badd in one night, so the WCW championship committee gave him that chance. Page cleanly beat Steamboat, but got caught in an argument with his Diamond Doll that accompanies him to ringside that let Badd knock him out quickly.
Page came to and insisted that shouldn't have counted and then attacked Badd, hitting him with a Diamond Cutter when he wasn’t looking. Steamboat had to come back down to chase off Page. But Page grabbed Johnny B. Badd’s Badd Blaster lying in the corner of the ring, and knocked out Steamboat with it. He left with both the Badd Blaster and the US Title belt.
Ron Simmons pinned Big Van Vader with the powerslam in 11:45.
Rating: *** 1/4
Vader had spent almost as much time attacking Harley Race as he has Ron Simmons during their recent feud. This led to Race bringing in a new bodyguard, Meng.
Already the new addition paid instant benefits. When Vader set up for his Vader Bomb, Meng jumped on the apron and delivered a kick to Vader’s head that knocked him off the ropes and led to Simmons hitting a powerslam.
After getting the win, Simmons called out the winner of tonight’s world title match.
Sting made Dustin Rhodes submit to the Scorpion Death Lock in 16:01.
Rating: *** 1/4
Dustin Rhodes likes to pass on the blame for his faults. He blamed Sting for coming up on the short end of his long standing feud with Davey Boy Smith, to which Sting settled that with a convincing win.
Rhodes then put the blame for his loss to Sting on his manager Terry Funk. After the match, Rhodes attacked the veteran, leaving him laying.
Harlem Heat (Stevie Ray and Booker T) defeated The Nasty Boys (Brian Knobbs and Jerry Sags) when Booker pinned Sags after a Soviet suplex in 15:34.
Rating: **
(Harlem Heat won the WCW WORLD TAG TEAM TITLES.)
Harlem Heat won back the world tag titles from the Nasty Boys. As has typically been the case when these two teams face off, the match became an all-out brawl that the referee lost control of.
In his efforts to control things, the referee was tied up with Brian Knobbs to try to get it 1 on 1 in the ring. Meanwhile, Stevie Ray hit Jerry Sags with a chair and Booker T pinned him after a suplex.
Randy Savage pinned Steve Austin with the Flying Elbowdrop in 18:10.
Rating: *** 3/4
[Paul E. Dangerously interfered against Randy Savage.]
Stunning Steve Austin picked up a huge win, pinning Savage at the recent Clash of Champions, but the Horsemen were a big reason why.
This time around, their help wasn’t enough as Savage fought them off. Then hit a flying elbow to get his revenge.
However, after the match, the Horsemen converged with Anderson and Bagwell rushing the ring and joining Austin in a 3-on-1 beatdown of Savage.
Finally, the Steiners came down to help chase off the Horsemen.
Ric Flair made Barry Windham submit to the Figure Four Leglock in 14:39.
Rating: *** ½
While wrestlers like the Steiners and Savage have friends that will help them fight off the Horsemen, Windham’s recently Lone Wolf mentality has driven away any friends who may have helped him out.
The result is Windham being left on his own to fight Flair, knowing wherever he is, the Horsemen are as well.
The numbers game was a big factor in Flair getting the win.
Hulk Hogan pinned Davey Boy Smith with the Big Leg Drop in 16:22.
Rating: **
Davey Boy Smith has been talking leading up to the event how this was going to be the most important night of his life, fighting Hulk Hogan for the world title. He's also been saying he's worked harder than he ever has before to make the most of this chance.
However, it still wasn't good enough to best the world champion. Despite hitting a powerslam, Smith had the look on his face like he was finally going to do it. But before he could go for the pin, Hogan sat up and began his "hulk up" routine.
Soon after, Hogan hit the big boot, then the leg drop and pinned Davey Boy. Smith couldn't hide his disappointment in the ring. Hogan offered his hand to Davey Boy, but instead Smith clotheslined Hulk then jumped on him and began hitting away.
Sting, good friends of both men, ran down and pulled Davey Boy off. Smith just kept repeating, "Sorry, Sorry, that wasn't me."
