NXT Mexico Championship Recap
 01/24/21
In ring: HHH and HBK open this year's Royal Rumble speaking about NXT, NXTUK, and now NXTMX. Hyping and teasing who "The Committee" selected as the first official competitor challenging for the honor to become NXT Mexico Champion. HHH grabs a microphone "After weeks of scouting and grading each and every competitor this company has to offer, The Committee has decided on the first man who will go to first official NXTMX PPV known as "NXT Llegado" next week to compete for it's crowning jewel. Following what we have seen from this man in the last month, not to mention his time on 205 live, running that division. This only seems right. Ladies and Gentlemen the first man in the NXTMX championship match DREW GULAK." (Crowd boos)
Recap: Once the announcement was made for "NXT Mexico" Drew Gulak reached out to the Lucha House Party, in particular Grand Metalik, whom himself was a huge star in Mexico. Stating "this was his time to shine" Gulak simply asked for on thing in return "let me be your coach, I want to be the Phil Jackson to your Michael Jordan, the Greg Popovich to your Tim Duncan. YES, your Bill Belichick to your Tom Brady." After some words lost in translation, Grand Metalik accidently agrees. A series of vignettes aired throughout the weeks on television of Gulak presenting PowerPoints demonstrating the weaknesses of Metalik's upcoming opponents. This worked extremely well, leading to a Metalik winning streak, getting prominent victories over several members of Retribution, Angel Garza and a dominate win over an established superstar in John Morrison. While Metalik kept getting victories his stablemates were not so fortunate losing all of their matches since Gulak came into the picture. This led to a standoff, was it going to be the Lucha House Party or was Gran Metalik going to stick with Drew Gulak, as Dorado and Kalisto felt he was driving a wedge between them. Metalik ultimately chose Gulak and the opportunity to headline NXTMX. The Go-home show of Monday Night Raw before the Royal Rumble saw Drew sit Metalik down for his biggest presentation yet....when Drew clicked the slide over it was one of Gran Metalik with an outline around his mask. Before he could react Drew swarmed Metalik, scratching and clawing at his mask. After a brutal beatdown Gulak was successful in ripping the mask off his enemy. Left in a bloody mess of himself the camera zooms in to capture the reveal but Gran Metalik's face was unrecognizable due to being covered in a different kind of mask, a "crimson" one.
In ring: HHH and HBK chuckle as just the mere mention of Drew Gulak gets nuclear levels of heat. HBK grabs the mic "I know, I know he is not a nice guy. But he is a deserving one (crowd boos more) okay okay let's announce our next competitor...jeez haven't heard this much boos since that Montreal thing. (HHH pops) Now for this next announcement we would like to invite a special superstar down to the ring. Ladies and Gentlemen please give it up for the ONE AND ONLY RICOCHET!
Recap: Ricochet's journey on the main roster has been a bumpy one ever since his embarrassing loss to Brock Lesnar in Saudi Arabia. But when he heard of the announcement for NXTMX he knew this WAS his last chance to revitalize his career. Every week on Main Event, 205 live and his home show Monday Night Raw, he would show up early and challenged anyone in the back to a match. He racked up wins on the "lesser shows" to gain more screen time on Raw. Allowing him to challenge each member of The Hurt Business and pulling out victories against each one of them. Two weeks before the Royal Rumble an announcement was made each brand will host a fatal 4-way match and the winner will move on to the go home show of Smackdown to compete in a final fatal 4-way to determine who will enter the Royal Rumble at the coveted number 27 spot. On the final Smackdown in the Main Event it was , Ricochet (Raw) Chad Gable (Smackdown) KUSHIDA (NXT) and Ilja Dragunov (NXTUK) representing their respective brands after an impressive feat of athleticism it was Ricochet who came out on top.
In ring: HBK hands over the mic to Hunter who has not stopped staring at Ricochet across the ring from them. HHH begins to speak "Welcome to the One and Only Ricochet. I want to start off by saying...Congratulations. If this was not obvious enough, Ricochet you are the man we are choosing to go to NXT Mexico's first ever PPV to face Drew Gulak for the NXT MEXICO CHAMPIONSHIP!! However.... Ricochet I have a decision I need you to make first. Standing across from you are two HOFs, some of the best of the best. I stand here today and tell you this man Shawn Michaels is the Greatest of All Time. I say that to say this, listen to the next few words out of my mouth. Shawn and I both know what it feels like to stand atop the mountain. We have both felt the electric feeling that courses through your body when you throw that last man out of the ring at the Royal Rumble. And tonight you are the #27 entrant THE #27 spot. You are staring down the barrel of opportunity young man. You are so close to your own electricity. Throwing the last man out and punching your ticket to the grandest stage of them all. This is the path you have fought so hard to carve for yourself and I respect you for it. But I need you to know something else. You now have the opportunity for this." Triple H pulls out the NXT Mexico Championship
That electric feeling I described to you is what made us legends in this business. We never stopped chasing it. So as a man I can't ask you to not chase it. But I need you to know this in order to challenge for this NXTMX Gold on 01/31/21 in Mexico, you Ricochet will have to remove yourself from the Royal Rumble. That feeling Ricochet, that feeling is unlike anything else it's something we both know , and many other men have known before and will know after us. But before you make your choice think of this. A new feeling that no man has felt before. A path that no man has ever walked before. RICOCHET this is your chance to be the ONE AND ONLY!! You have the opportunity to do something no other person on this planet has done and that is earning the title of NXT Mexico Champion. So, I say this to you Ricochet are you a man that follows his own path? The world wants to know WHAT IS YOUR CHOICE?!?!
CHANTS OF RICOCHET RICOCHET begin to fill the arena.
Ricochet visibly struggling with the decision he has to make. He gazes upon the crowd as if searching for the correct choice among them. He finally composes himself as he walks over to HHH looks at him and snatches the microphone from The Game's hands. With all the pent up frustration and fiery rage inside him thinking back on all of his setbacks he had to overcome to even get to this spot. He raises the microphone and at the two legends YELLS "I FOLLOW NO ONE!!!"
He stares directly down the hard camera "DREW GULAK I'LL SEE YOU IN MEXICO B$@#!"

On the go-home episode of Raw, Mickie James made her long awaited return. With a huge announcement "Hello everyone did you miss me? (crowd cheers) I thought so. Well I did NOT miss you. In fact, I was dreading coming out here all day today. (confused booing) See I was told I had to make this announcement on Raw tonight. Seems I am finally getting some well deserved respect around here. Due to my legendary status here in this company. I have been automatically entered as one of the two women who will compete next week in Mexico for the NXT Mexico Women's Championship!! While that is great news for mwah, I saw no reason why I should come out here and tell you idiots about it. You don't deserve it. What have you done for me? You weren't cheering for me when I was relegated to being Alexa Bliss's sidekick. You weren't giving me a MICKIEMANIA when I won a few matches. No you just sat back and took me for granted. THE DAMN LEGEND that I am. Well guess what I am done taking it. So guess what I am going to do about it. I am going to NXT Mexico and proving that not only am I Legend, but that I can still go and carry a women's division on my back and have it outshine any of the crap, they got going on in any other brand. Because Mickie James is THE BRAND. Now as for my opponent, you must be the bravest or stupidest woman on the planet. Because all of these people in the arena tonight, and all of the poor ones at home know that I AM THE BEST...

NXT Cruiserweight Championship Recap 01/27/21
After yet again another successful title defense at NXT WarGames on 12/06/20. Santos Escobar got on the microphone and immediately proclaimed himself the greatest Cruiserweight champion of all time. Going as far as to mention the now defuncted Light-Heavyweight division. After holding up his title for one final pose....appearing on the titantron the words
"Irish Ace"
On-screen appears the "true" Cruiserweight Champion Jordan Devlin.
He begins to clap..."Mr. Escobar... You don't know me.. but I know you. You are the man walking around with a replica of my belt and calling yourself champion. See, I wasn't able to make it tonight, but this Wednesday on NXT, we are gonna have a few words. Because the IRISH ACE is back...."
In the weeks that followed Escobar was able to use the numbers game to his advantage. Repelling any attempted assault by Devlin. It was not until the unlikely cavalry arrived, in the form of Killian Dain and Drake Maverick, who themselves had a couple of run-ins with Legado del Fantasma in the past. Eventually, with the help of Dain and Maverick, Jordan Devlin was able to get the momentum over Legado del Fantasma. Dealing a huge blow to Escobar's tactics when both Raul Mendoza and Joaquin Wilde were not medically cleared to be at the NXT taping, which held the contract signing for the Unified Cruiserweight Championship match at NXT Mexico: Llegado and subsequently will not be in the building for the match itself.

It is that time of the year again, for the annual Dusty Rhodes Classic, starting immediately after "WarGames" on the NXT 12/09/20 episode. This time with the caveat being the winning team will be challenging for the NXT Mexico Tag Team titles. The tournament was between 8 teams, single elimination and it ran through 12/09/20 to 01/20/21 which would hold the final match. The seeds were as follows
1. Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan
2. Undisputed Era
3. Legado del Fantasma
4. Breezango
5. Lucha House Party reclaiming the name "Lucha Dragons" (Kalisto & Lince Dorado)
6. Killian Dain & Drake Maverick
7. La Resistance
8. The Hooligans
After the shocking cinderella victory of the number 8 seed Hooligans came to fruition, they were met with one more obstacle. See the question on everyone's mind was, if this tournament is to determine one entrant team into the title match. Well who is the other team? That question was finally answered at the trophy presentation ceremony. When NXT's latest arrivals made their presence known....
The Lucha Bros were the biggest free agent team on the market and instead of renewing their deals with AEW they made the jump to WWE. With a very specific clause in their contracts, they would only sign the deal if they were automatically inserted into the NXT Mexico Tag Team Championship match in their native country Mexico at NXT Mexico: Llegado.
In a decision that was weighed heavily by the company ultimately "This was best for business" -Triple H

In last night's Main Event, which saw NXT Champion Finn Balor take on the man who was the "champion" for NXT on Friday Night Smackdown's fatal 4-way to determine the 27th entrant in last Sunday's Royal Rumble KUSHIDA. After a great back and forth matchup between the two, it was Finn Balor who seemed to cool off the hot streak KUSHIDA was putting together with all these wins in recent weeks. This is not a new sight for NXT faithful's eyes. KUSHIDA has consistently been on the cusp of taking the next step in NXT just to be knocked down right before he can take it.
Post Match:
KUSHIDA who was walking to the back, where the cameras followed saw the Lucha Dragons (Kalisto and Lince Dorado) getting ready to exit the building. With no warning something in KUSHIDA snapped. He attacked both men and after incapacitating Lince Dorado, he put Kalisto in the "Hoverboard Lock" finally due to the screams of agony from Kalisto, WWE officials came and got KUSHIDA off of him. It is still unknown how severe the damage to Kalisto's arm is. Upon hearing the news the ex-communicated "Lucha" member Gran Metalik found GM William Regal and told him to make this match official. (Translated from Spanish) "I might have turned my back on brother once, but I'll be damned if I do it again." William Regal no stranger to the passion of the business understood, without needing a translation. "You want KUSHIDA on Sunday....YOU GOT HIM."
