Six-Woman Tag Team Match:
Liv Morgan, Sarah Logan & Toni Storm vs Damage CTRL (Kay Lee Ray, Dakota Kai & Io Shirai)
On the SmackDown after SummerSlam, Becky Lynch (her right arm now in a sling) cuts a promo and says she’ll be taking some time away from the ring to heal her shoulder, but this isn’t the last that the fans have seen of Big Time Becks, because she will return. Liv Morgan then makes her way to the ring, and she thanks Becky for making her who she is today. As Becky heads to the back, Liv talks about all the history she's had with Becky for almost a year, before it's cut off by Damage CTRL on the Titantron, with Kay Lee Ray saying "Liv, remember when you caused all of your friends to get severely hurt? Well, we're about to add another one to the list." Damage CTRL then reveal they have attacked Becky backstage, and they do further damage to Becky's injured arm, with KLR hitting Becky with a Superkick, writing Big Time Becks off TV. Later on in the evening, Morgan’s match with Io Shirai ends in a DQ after interference by Damage CTRL, with Sarah Logan and Toni Storm running down to make the save, which sets up this match in Cardiff. On the go home episode of SmackDown, KLR confronts Storm backstage. KLR reminds Toni of their history together in both Japan and NXT UK, saying that she's known Toni her for almost 7 years, she knows her better than anybody else, she knows what's best for Toni, that’s why she beat her so badly and made her quit NXT UK 2 years ago, that beating lit a fire inside her and made her become only the first woman to win the NXT Women’s and NXT UK Women’s Championship, but after wasting the last year of her career on SmackDown, she could be doing so much more by her side. KLR finishes by telling Toni to reflect on her advice, and imagine what she can do alongside her. Towards the end of the match, Storm gets a hot tag from Logan, but then Storm shockingly turns around and big boots Logan, turning heel. This distracts Liv as Kai and Shirai take out Liv on the outside. Storm then tags Logan back in, hits Storm Zero and allows a smirking KLR to finish off Logan with a Gory Bomb to give Damage CTRL the win. Storm leaves with Damage CTRL to loud boos from the Cardiff crowd.)
Intercontinental Championship - Everyone is banned from ringside:
Isaiah "Swerve" Scott (c) vs Sheamus
(Sheamus defeats Sami Zayn, Dominik Dijakovic and Happy Corbin in a fatal-four way match on SmackDown to become #1 contender to the Intercontinental Championship. Sheamus says over the last 12 years, he’s held every major singles championship in WWE, except one, and that’s the Intercontinental Championship, a title that’s been held with prestige by several all time greats in this business, people like Randy Savage, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, and The Rock, and now he has a chance to join that elite club of Grand Slam winners, because at Clash at The Castle, he will enter the belly of the red dragon, kick that Wiz Khalifa wannabe's head off and become the new Intercontinental Champion. Swerve says that everyone wants to criticise him for cheating back at SummerSlam, but he did what he had to do to win by any means necessary, and he wants to show he can still play by the rules, so he wants it to be an even playing field, Sheamus' Peaky Blinders reject crew stays in the back for the match, and Hit Row stays in the back. The match sees Swerve throw everything he has at Sheamus, but Sheamus continues to kick out. The closing moments of the match see's Sheamus accidentally hit the referee with a Brogue Kick, which allows Swerve to hit a low blow on The Celtic Warrior, completing Hit Row's heel turn, and causing a double turn. Swerve then hits a Swerve Stomp to retain. Sheamus receives a standing ovation from the Cardiff crowd post match.)
Triple Threat Tag Team Match for the Raw Tag Team Championship:
Alpha Academy (c) (Chad Gable & Otis) w/Drew Gulak vs The New Day vs Judgment Day w/Edge
(On the Raw after SummerSlam, Judgment Day address Edge’s loss at SummerSlam. Edge admits that he’s seething about how he lost to AJ Styles, but he’s willing to let that one go, because not only did Rhea Ripley see the light and bring the Raw Women’s Championship to Judgment Day, the next order of business is the Raw Tag Team Championship, because that trio of clowns called Alpha Academy are living on borrowed time with those titles. AA cut off Edge’s promo, with Chad Gable putting his trademark SHOOSH! catchphrase to good use. Gable says that the Raw Tag Team Championship will forever be the property of Alpha Academy, because The Goth Kids from South Park rejects don't even have the smarts to know how to unseat the smartest trio in WWE history. The New Day then interrupt, saying that they aren't finished with Team Angle lite, and on top of that, Edge needs to get his magic 8 ball checked, because they’re not scared of his Powers of Pain rejects, and their power of positivity always prevails in the end. All 3 teams then get into a brawl, with Adam Pearce announcing a triple threat match for Clash at the Castle. Judgment Day add more gold to their accolades after Gacy and Priest hit an Upside-down World/South of Heaven combo on Kofi Kingston to become the new Raw Tag Team Champions. After the match, as Judgment Day celebrate their win, the lights go out. The sounds of a heart monitor are heard, followed by a guitar riff. The familiar sound of "No One Will Survive" filters through out the Principality Stadium…. it’s Tommaso Ciampa! Ciampa walks down the aisle and gets in the ring to confront Gacy and Priest. He then turns and looks back down the aisle with a smirk… The familiar upbeat sounds of "Rebel Heart" plays…. and Johnny Gargano comes out! The crowd in Cardiff pops loudly as Gargano gets in the ring and stands side by side with Ciampa as they stare down Judgment Day, who hold up their titles, with Edge mouthing off.)
No Holds Barred Match:
Ricochet vs Seth Rollins
(Ricochet and Seth Rollins’ rivalry begins to heat up. A few weeks after SummerSlam, Rollins faces off against Mansoor in a match that ends in a DQ win for The Visionary after Ricochet returns from his brief hiatus to attack Rollins, challenging him to a No Holds Barred Match at Clash in the Castle. The One and Only says that he's going to embarrass Seth across the pond, just like he did back at SummerSlam, because there's only 1 man in Seth's marriage, and it sure as hell ain't him. Rollins responds by saying it’s funny that Ricochet wants to talk about his family, because everytime he get's a girlfriend, they break up with him because they don't want to live with his miserable bitch-ass anymore. The closing moments of the match see's Ricochet attempt a 630 off a ladder, but Rollins moves out of the way and Ricochet crashes and burns. Rollins then follows up with a Curb Stomp to pick up the win.)
Six-Man Tag Team Match:
Bobby Lashley & The Street Profits vs The Hurt Business (MVP, Carmelo Hayes & Trick Williams) w/Shelton Benjamin & Cedric Alexander
(On Raw, MVP addresses his shocking betrayal of Bobby Lashley at SummerSlam. MVP says that when he came back, Bobby Lashley was in limbo, he was floundering, he couldn’t even sniff a championship by himself until he resurrected The Almighty, he helped Bobby regain his star power to achieve all the further greatness that he gained along the way, he made The Almighty, so Bobby owes him a debt of gratitude for being WWE Champion, because it was MVP who put Bobby Lashley at the top of the food chain for 202 days, not Bobby Lashley. MVP then hands the mic to Hayes, who says he did what he said he was going to do - he mopped the floor with Lashley, and thanks to MVP seeing greatness and recruiting him into The Hurt Business, he once again proved why Melo don't miss. Bobby Lashley then comes down to brawl with The Hurt Business, but the numbers game catches up and it’s a 5 on 1 beatdown until The Street Profits run down to make the save, which leads to this match. MVP picks himself, Hayes, and Williams to represent The Hurt Business against Lashley & The Street Profits, which doesn't sit well with Shelton Benjamin & Cedric Alexander (with both slowly beginning to turn face). Lashley says that MVP only came back to WWE for his retirement run, and now he’s latched on to his latest meal ticket, but at Clash at the Castle, he’ll send MVP to the retirement home permanently. Benjamin and Alexander try to interfere, but the Profits take them out at ringside. Hayes takes advantage and hits Lashley with Nothin’ But Net, before tagging in MVP and allowing him to pin The Almighty to loud boos.)
United States Championship:
Finn Bálor (c) vs Austin Theory
(On the Raw after SummerSlam, Austin Theory walks out on The Miz during a tag team match with The Street Profit. This doesn't turn Theory face, as he trashes the crowd the next week on Raw, where he also defeats Matt Riddle and Keith Lee in a triple threat match to become the #1 contender to the United States Championship. Theory says that on his first day on the main roster, he won the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania, everyone began declaring him the future, but Miz was just trying to make him into a carbon copy of himself with all of his selfie-taking, but that’s all gone now, he is The Now, and he's not going to wait for future opportunities, he's going to make them now, and that starts by becoming United States Champion. Bálor says Theory is so eager to prove that he can hang with the big boys, but Vince McMahon isn’t here to hold his hand anymore, and that he should look both ways when he crosses The Prince, because he’ll send him back to the nothingness he came from. Finn misses a Coup De Grace, allowing Theory to hit the ATL and win his first piece of WWE gold. After the match, Edge is shown watching on from backstage, disappointed that Balor lost the U.S. title.)
Triple Threat Match for the Raw Women’s Championship:
Rhea Ripley (c) w/Edge vs Bianca Belair vs Alexa Bliss
(On the Raw after SummerSlam, Rhea Ripley reveals why she joined Judgement Day. She says everybody saw her as weak, a second-rate successor to The Four Horsewomen, someone who didn’t belong in the business, and someone who doesn’t win Royal Rumbles or main event WrestleManias, and not only that, she was shamefully reduced to having to participate in a battle royal at a WrestleMania, but then she saw how Edge was creating Judgement Day and turning the likes of Joe Gacy and Damian Priest into stars. Rhea then smirks and says if Edge can do that for them, then he could do the same for her, because Edge saw how frustrated she was, and when he offered her a spot in Judgement Day, she accepted that offer in a heartbeat, and now that she’s seen the light, she’s rejuvenated, resurrected, and the new Raw Women’s Champion. Bianca Belair cuts a promo the following week, saying that Rhea has had nothing but jealousy that's been building ever since she was the last one eliminated in the 2021 Women's Royal Rumble match, Rhea didn't get to win a Women's Championship in the main event of WrestleMania, it's just one thing after another and she finally lashed out, but at Clash at the Castle, she gets to repay Rhea with a beating, because she's invoking her rematch clause, and she's going to become a two time Raw Women's Champion. Alexa Bliss interrupts amd also invokes her rematch clause, making the match a triple threat match, and stating that she wants the title back just as bad as Belair does. Rhea says that Bianca and Alexa are upset because they can’t stand the sight of someone who’s virtually superior to them, and they will meet their maker in Cardiff. Rhea retains her title after hitting a Riptide on Bliss, ensuring a successful night for Judgment Day.)
Samoa Joe & Rey Mysterio w/Dominik Mysterio vs Los Lotharios w/Zelina Vega
On the Raw after Summerslam, The Mysterios come up short in a match against Alpha Academy for the Raw Tag Team Championship, thanks to interference by Los Lotharios. After the match, LL assault The Mysterios, with Zelina Vega even attacking Dominik with her baseball bat, until Samoa Joe runs down to make the save, accidentally clotheslining Dominik in the process. A week later, Joe apologises to Dominik, who doesn’t accept Joe’s apology. The pair get into a shoving match and are separated by Rey, with Dominik enraged at his father seemingly taking Joe’s side. On the same night, Rey loses a match to Angel Garza, with Dominik nowhere to be found. Rey then suffers another LL beatdown, with Joe making the save. A week later, Joe easily defeats Humberto Carrillo, with Rey saving Joe from another post match beatdown by LL. This leads to Rey and Joe challenging LL to a tag match at Clash at the Castle. Zelina accepts on her clients behalf, saying that she finds it baffling that these 2 old timers can't even get on the same page with Rey's son, and if they can't even do that, they're in for a rough night in Cardiff. Before the match, Rey manages to convince Dominik to be in his and Joe's corner for the match. After the match, Dominik shockingly low blows Joe, and then even more shockingly, attacks his own father, turning heel. Dominik then leaves with a smirking Zelina and Los Lotharios to loud boos, signalling that he's now aligned with them.)
WWE Championship:
Karrion Kross (c) w/Scarlett vs AJ Styles
(A week after SummerSlam, AJ Styles wins a battle royal to become number one contender to the WWE Championship. In the build-up, Karrion Kross says in the midst of the chaos he’s caused, an opportunity has arisen for AJ Styles, an opportunity to step in the ring with The Herald of Doomsday, but like all the others who have fallen and prayed, AJ will be just another broken toy he will dismember and discard, because in the end, everybody pays the toll. Styles says Kross can underestimate him all he wants, but he knows how to get the job done when his back is against the wall, that’s why he’s been a World Champion in every promotion across the world, while Kross hides behind smoke and mirrors, Samoa Joe proved he was mortal a year ago, and nothing’s going to stop him walking out of Cardiff a 4-time WWE Champion. At the closing moments of the match, Styles attempts a Phenomenal Forearm, but Kross ducks and hits Styles from behind with a Kross Hammer. Kross then follows up with a second Kross Hammer to retain the WWE Championship.)
World Heavyweight Championship:
Roman Reigns (c) vs Drew McIntyre
(The Tribal Chief vs The Scottish Terminator. In the build-up, Roman Reigns says that if anyone ever comes out here and says they're the face of this company, they're lying, if anybody ever comes out here and says they're the main event, they're lying, and if anybody, more specifically Drew McIntyre, says that they carry this company on their back, they're lying, because there is only one face of this company, only one main event, only one guy who carries this company on this back, and that’s the Head of the Table, The Tribal Chief, because he's a man of his word. Drew reflects on his journey to this point in his career, saying that getting to WWE was almost unobtainable, and how nobody had ever been signed to WWE from Scotland before. He worked his way up through the UK independent scene. he worked his way up through FCW, and when he made it to the main roster, he quickly clawed his way to the top and became Intercontinental Champion, but when he secured himself an opportunity to become World Heavyweight Champion, he lost it, he let all the fame and success go to his head, he became complacent, it was the beginning of the end for him. Instead of putting his head down and working harder to get back to the top, he was angry, and around that same time, everything was falling apart for him, and when his Mum got sick and passed away, there was no saving him professionally, nor personally, so he resorted to playing air guitar and looking up at the lights weekly, that's how bad it got for him, and when that fateful day in June of 2014 came when he was wished the best of luck in his future endeavours, it was the best thing that ever happened to him. In the 3 years he spent outside the WWE, he built himself back up into the leader you see today, because his life has been filled with twists and turns, but the destination has always been the same, to be the face of this industry that he loves, and now that journey brings him to Roman Reigns. A man who’s become an absolute monster, but he knows about that the last time they faced off. Roman is on a run in the modern era that we have not seen and more than likely we will never see again, but he will be the one to bring his empire crashing down around his ears at the first UK stadium show in 3 decades, he gets to do it in front of 70,000 screaming British fans, and in front of the whole world, his destiny will finally be fulfilled when he becomes World Heavyweight Champion. On the go-home episode of SmackDown before this event, The Bloodline celebrates the 2 year Anniversary of Roman Reigns being World Heavyweight Champion, when McIntyre attacks the entire group, taking out Heyman, Sami Zayn and The Usos, preventing them from being in Roman’s corner. After a 30 minute encounter that sees Drew kick out of the Superman Punch and the Spear, Roman becomes increasingly desperate. He applies The Guillotine Choke, but McIntyre just gets a fingertip on the bottom rope. Roman tries for another Spear, but McIntyre is too quick and lands a definitive Claymore. When it looks like Drew might win, LA Knight (who was on commentary to further his feud with Drew after having attacked the latter on the SmackDown after SummerSlam) interferes by pulling the referee out of the ring and hitting the ref with a BFT. A livid Drew then chases Knight, only to run into a Superkick from an unknown man in a hood. The man takes off his hood... IT'S SOLO SIKOA! The NXT upstart then throws Drew and the referee back into the ring, allowing Reigns to hit one last Spear on McIntyre. The referee logs the three count, and The Tribal Chief's reign continues.)
