List of trades 1984

It took some time to iron out the details, but New Jersey Devils and New York Rangers have agreed to swap. New York will get 19-year old left wing Bob Errey and a 4th Round Draft Pick in exchange for the rights to 18-year old right wing Claude Lemieux.

Claude Lemieux is a agitator and a perfect fit for the Devils.

A trade between New Jersey Devils and Toronto Maple Leafs was made official this morning. The Devils will send 24-year old left wing sniper Paul Fenton to Toronto in exchange of a 3rd Round Draft Pick.

Fenton was more of a finesse player, than the usual tough, gritty and physical players we are looking for. So we saw no need of keeping him on the team.

It has been in the rumour mill for several weeks, but today team officials for New Jersey and Washington confirmed an agreement. The Devils dealt defenceman Jim Johnson and a 11th Round Draft Pick to Capitals in exchange for right wing Paul Broten.

Jim Johnson is a solid reserve defenceman, but this trade makes it possible for Devils star Aaron Broten to play with his brother Paul Broten. Paul is more of a grinder, than a playermaker like his brother.
