The commentary team talk about what a historical
moment this is for the WWF, and the rules of the Royal Rumble Match
Number 1: Ax
Number 2: Smash
The tag team partners just shake hands and wait
for the third entrant.
Number 3: Brian B Blair
Blair brawls with both members of Demolition but
he falls victim to the numbers game and they beat him down
Number 4: Bad News Brown
Brown beats down Blair then does the same to Ax
and Smash.
Number 5: Bam Bam Bigelow
Bigelow grabs Blair and throws him out of the
match, then trades shots with Brown.
Number 6: Bret the Hitman Hart
Hart brawls with Bigelow, then Brown and finally gets
double teamed by Demolition.
Number 7: Brutus the Barber Beefcake
Beefcake brawls with Brown, Hart brawls with Ax,
Smash brawls with Brown.
Number 8: Butch Reed
Number 9: Davey Boy Smith
Number 10: Don Muraco
Number 11: Dynamite Kid
Number 12: Jim the Anvil Neidhart
The British Bulldogs grab Bigelow and throws him
out, the Hart Foundation does the same to Brown, while Demolition eliminate
Reed.
Bam Bam Bigelow is eliminated
Bad News Brown is eliminated
Butch Reed is eliminated
Number 13: Greg the Hammer Valentine
Number 14: Haku
Number 15: Harley Race
Number 16: Hillbilly Jim
Number 17: Honkey Tonk Man
Number 18: Jake the Snake Roberts
Jim gets rid of Muraco, Haku throws Beefcake out,
Roberts hits a DDT on Kid and throws him out.
Don Muraco is eliminated
Brutus the Barber Beefcake is eliminated
Dynamite Kid is eliminated
Number 19: Jim Brunzell
Number 20: “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan
DBS gets revenge on Roberts and throws him out,
then he is thrown out by Race, Haku hits a Double Clothesline on Valentine and
Neidhart which eliminates both men.
Jake the Snake Roberts is eliminated
Greg the Hammer Valentine is eliminated
Jim the Anvil is eliminated
Number 21: King Kong Bundy
Bundy eliminates Brunzell, then does the same to
Haku.
Jim Brunzell is eliminated
Haku is eliminated
Number 22: Junkyard Dog
Number 23: Koko B Ware
Number 24: Nikolai Volkoff
Number 25: Andre the Giant
Andre comes from behind and tips out both Jim and
Bundy and then throws out Race.
Hillbilly Jim is eliminated
King Kong Bundy is eliminated
Harley Race is eliminated
Number 26: One Man Gang
Gang eliminated both Ax and Smash one after the
other.
Ax is eliminated
Smash is eliminated
Number 27: “Macho Man” Randy Savage
Number 28: “Rowdy” Roddy Piper
Number 29: “Ravishing” Rick Rude
Number 30: Ricky the Dragon Steamboat
Andre would eliminate Hart and Smith one after
the other, Duggan got rid of Honkey, Savage single-handedly threw Volkoff out,
Rude threw Duggan out.
Bret Hart is eliminated
Davey Boy Smith is eliminated
Honkey Tonk Man is eliminated
Nikolai Volkoff is eliminated
Jim Duggan is eliminated
Gang scored two more eliminations by throwing
both Dog and Ware out of the match. Savage got rid of Gang after that, Rude
eliminates Piper, Steamboat eliminates Rude.
Junkyard Dog is eliminated
Koko B Ware is eliminated
One Man Gang is eliminated
Andre would throw Steamboat into Savage which
caused both men to fall into the ropes and then he clotheslined both of them out
to the floor.
New Winner: Andre the Giant
A new WM IV Main Event
So, instead of a brutally long tournament that
didn’t really have many good matches I would have Andre the Giant V Hulk Hogan
II here instead. And I would have Andre win here and capture the WWF
Championship, and he never tried to sell the title to DiBiase because that
devalues the title.
