Road to the Royal Rumble 2008
RAW The main feud heading into the Royal Rumble was centered around the WWE Championship with JBL and Chris Jericho both staking a claim to a shot at the title. Jericho called it unfair that JBL cost him the title and that he doesn't get a rematch. Randy Orton refused to defend against either men but Jonathan Coachman confirmed that at the Royal Rumble, Orton would defend his title in a triple threat match!
Meanwhile, Ric Flair claimed that he would never retire from pro wrestling but Vince McMahon had other thoughts and told him that the next time he loses, he will be forced to retire! Flair would defeat the likes of Val Venis and Snitsky in subsequent weeks before being challenged by Mr. Kennedy who said that he is making it his mission to retire Flair and become the WWE Champion in 2008 and that at the Royal Rumble, he will be one step closer to that goal!
SMACKDOWN On the Smackdown side of things, World Heavyweight Champion Edge bragged about how he was a champion for everyone and that his reign will continue for a very long time before being confronted by Rey Mysterio who said that he wanted to step up and be the one to take the title from Edge and Edge laughed it off and accepted the challenge, saying that it won't matter!
ECW ECW General Manager Armando Estrada set up a Championship Chase to determine a number 1 contender to the title that featured Chavo Guerrero, Elijah Burke, Shelton Benjamin and Tommy Dreamer. The Chase would be won by Elijah Burke who secured a shot at the ECW Championship at the Royal Rumble!
ROYAL RUMBLE MATCH Several qualifying matches took place as the Road to the Rumble wore on and the following superstars qualified for the event whether by winning matches or simply declaring themselves for the match.
RAW: Carlito, Bobby Lashley, Jeff Hardy, Santino Marella, Shawn Michaels, Umaga, Triple H, William Regal, Charlie Haas, Cody Rhodes SMACKDOWN: Batista, Chavo Guerrero, Finlay, Kane, Jamie Noble, Matt Hardy, The Undertaker, Mark Henry, MVP, Kenny Dykstra ECW: Tommy Dreamer, The Miz, John Morrison, Big Daddy V, Shelton Benjamin, Colin Delaney
This leaves 4 spots open for potential surprise entrants.

I love your work in this era. I feel like this is where you thrive each time. Interested to see if Triple H chooses Jericho or Edge. We've already gotten Triple H vs Jericho at a Mania, so hopefully it's Edge or the title changes hands once again.
And I'm hype for RVD! Just don't let him back in a car with Sabu lol

Good start to this, I liked the Rumble results although I really hope Burke gets a run with the ECW title but I know he was against Punk so I get it. I’m thinking we may see Edge/Triple H at WM, not sure what Jericho will do, kinda hoping for Jericho/Taker but that’d be difficult to get to I guess.

Road to No Way Out 2008
RAW New WWE Champion Chris Jericho celebrated his win with a special episode of The Highlight Reel but he was confronted by JBL who said that he deserves another shot at the title because he was not pinned at the Royal Rumble. Jericho says that he wants to be a fighting champion and that he will put his newly won title on the line at No Way Out!
Ric Flair's quest to keep his career alive continued with victories against Carlito and Santino Marella before being confronted by his former protégé, Kenny Dykstra from Smackdown who says that he wants to end Flair's career and challenges him to a match at No Way Out which Flair accepts!
Royal Rumble winner Triple H says that he will be challenging whoever wins between Jericho and JBL at WrestleMania!
Beth Phoenix's dominant run as Women's Champion continued but she was challenged by Mickie James who said that she was going to be the one to finally take the title from Phoenix at No Way Out!
On the February 4, 2008 episode of Raw, William Regal scored a huge victory over Jeff Hardy to become the new Intercontinental Champion and a rematch was scheduled for No Way Out.
SMACKDOWN Vickie Guerrero made it clear that Edge will not be defending his championship at No Way Out but an Elimination Chamber match would be held to determine who will face him at WrestleMania and it will feature Batista, Rob Van Dam, The Great Khali, MVP, Mark Henry and The Undertaker!
Meanwhile, John Morrison and The Miz became embroiled in a feud with the debuting Jesse and Festus over the WWE Tag Team Championship which culminated in a match being scheduled for the titles at No Way Out.
ECW ECW Champion CM Punk put out an open challenge to anyone in ECW to face him for the title at No Way Out and the challenge was accepted by "The Gold Standard" Shelton Benjamin!
Tommy Dreamer would turn heel and attack his protégé Colin Delaney and would challenge him to a match at No Way Out, saying that he is nothing but a loser and that Dreamer wants to put him out of his misery.

Triple H versus Jericho and Batista versus Edge will be two premier main-events for WrestleMania. Could see Undertaker being added to the WHC match depending on information received, or it could be Taker facing the perpetrator. I wish there had been a replacement in the Chamber tho Interested to see if we get Flair/Michaels with what was done in real life, or if it's someone else I don't know what's more shocking. Dreamer's heel turn or Delaney winning in 10 seconds. CM Punk losing the ECW Title is unfortunate, but I hope this sets up him moving to Raw or SmackDown after Mania. I'd love to get some Mania picks in before you post, so can't wait to see the card
