WrestleMania, the showcase of immortals, the granddaddy of them all, the superbowl of wrestling, etc, etc. WrestleMania has had some great main events over the years like Austin/Rock, Taker/Michaels, and Angle/Lesnar. But it's had its fair share of crap ones too, Sid/Taker, Roman/Lesnar, Hogan/Sid. So let's look back at every main event so far (as of this thread's creation) and see if I can make a better main event than Vince.
 WrestleMania
Original main event - Hulk Hogan and Mr. T vs. Roddy Piper and Paul Orndorff
New main event - Hulk Hogan (c) (w/ Mr. T) vs. Roddy Piper (w/ Cowboy Bob Orton) for the WWF Championship with Muhammad Ali as special refereeLooking back at the first WrestleMania it's understandable they would have Mr. T in the main event fighting alongside the Hulkster in order to make WrestleMania a huge success. However, I think this could've been done without Mr. T as a wrestler, the biggest feud at that time was between Hulk Hogan and Roddy Piper. So why not have the two face off in the main event for the biggest prize in the company? You could have Ali serve as special ref to make sure Piper doesn't pull any tricks and insure a victor. In the end, a leg drop retains the title for the Hulkster as Piper finally eats a pin to the delight of many Hulkamaniacs.  WrestleMania 2Original main event - Hulk Hogan (c) vs. King Kong Bundy in a Steel Cage match for the WWF ChampionshipI'm fine with this match seeing as we had the blow off to the Hogan/Piper feud last year so yeah, this gets to stay. WrestleMania III
Original main event - Hulk Hogan (c) vs. Andre The Giant for the WWF Championship
This is my favorite Mania main event so I'd be pretty upset to have to change it, and honestly don't see what could replace it. This was the biggest feud with Andre turning on his good friend and WWF Champion thanks to Bobby The Weasel er-Brain Heenan. Then the slam heard around the world, the first "Mania moment". Could never get rid of that. |

WrestleMania IV
Original main event: Macho Man Randy Savage vs. Ted DiBiase for the vacant WWF Championship
New main event: Macho Man Randy Savage vs. Ricky Steamboat for the vacant WWF Championship Ted DiBiase is simply barred from entering the tournament after trying to buy the WWF Championship and Hogan/Andre ends in a double dq. Savage and Steamboat make it to the finals and have a rematch from the year prior but this time the Macho Man comes out the victor and is crowned the new WWF Champion. WrestleMania V
Original main event: Macho Man Randy Savage (c) vs. Hulk Hogan for the WWF Championship
This was a great main event and I couldn't think of anything to replace it.
WrestleMania VI
Original main event: Hulk Hogan (c) vs. The Ultimate Warrior (c) for the WWF and Intercontinental Championships
The only match I could think could've replaced this would've been Hogan vs. Perfect for the WWF Championship, but I'm fine with the ultimate challenge. |

WrestleMania VII
Original main event: Sgt. Slaughter (c) vs. Hulk Hogan for the WWF Championship
New main event: The Ultimate Warrior (c) vs. Hulk Hogan for the WWF Championship
Instead of a tasteless "tie-in" to the Iraq war, we get the ultimate rematch with the Hulkster getting his WWF title back.
WrestleMania VIII
Original main event: Hulk Hogan vs. Sid Justice
New main event: Ric Flair (c) vs. Hulk Hogan for the WWF Championship This is what everyone thought the main event was going to be when Ric Flair debuted in the WWF in late 1991 but for some reason we never got to see them face off until Bash at the Beach 1994. (ignoring house shows and tag matches) So instead of a terrible main event with Sid, Hogan takes on the Nature Boy for the WWF Championship and as usual Hulk wins. WrestleMania IXOriginal main event: Bret Hart (c) vs. Yokozuna for the WWF Championship
New main event: Bret Hart (c) vs. Macho Man Randy Savage for the WWF ChampionshipWith the steroid trial, the WWF moved on from the big muscular wrestlers to smaller wrestlers with more technical skills to make up for their size. The leader of this new generation was Bret Hart, at WrestleMania IX he would lose to Yokozuna before Yokozuna would lose to Hulk Hogan in a quick way to get the WWF title back on Hogan. Instead of this, let's have the Macho Man somehow eliminate Yoko at the Rumble to challenge Bret Hart for the WWF title to see if he's still got it. But in the end the Hitman would beat Savage with Mach passing the torch. |

WrestleMania XOriginal main event: Yokozuna (c) vs. Bret Hart for the WWF ChampionshipThe only thing I would change is that Yoko doesn't slip off the turnbuckle, instead Bret manages to roll him up when he goes for the drop. WrestleMania XIOriginal main event: Bam Bam Bigelow vs. Lawrence Taylor
New main event: Owen Hart (c) vs. Bret Hart for the WWF ChampionshipAt Summerslam 1994, Owen would yet again beat his brother and as an additional bonus becomes the new WWF Champion. Owen would mock and belittle his older brother and proclaim himself the best Hart alive and would refuse to give Bret a rematch until Bret would win the 1995 Rumble. The Hart brothers would clash again at WrestleMania with Bret getting his WWF championship back. WrestleMania XIIOriginal main event: Bret Hart (c) vs. Shawn Michaels in a Iron Man match for the WWF ChampionshipThe only change I would make is that Bret and Shawn both get falls on each other with it still going into overtime with 2-2, a superkick later and the boyhood dream comes true with 3-2.

WrestleMania 13Original main event: Sycho Sid (c) vs. The Undertaker for the WWF Championship
New main event: Bret Hart (c) vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin in a submission match with Ken Shamrock as special guest referee for the WWF ChampionshipI love Taker but this should've been the main event and for the WWF title, the match goes exactly the same but now it's for the WWF Championship. WrestleMania XIVOriginal main event: Shawn Michaels (c) vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin with Mike Tyson as special enforcer for the WWF ChampionshipThis was the right choice for the main event. WrestleMania XVOriginal main event: The Rock (c) vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin with Mankind as special referee for the WWF Championship
New main event: The Rock (c) vs. Mankind vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin in a no disqualification for the WWF ChampionshipWhile the original main event was fine, it made no sense for Mankind to be special referee for the match instead of competing for the WWF Championship The Rock stole from him. However in the end Austin would still walk out the WWF Champion.

WrestleMania 2000Original main event: Triple H (c) vs. The Rock vs. Big Show vs. Mick Foley for the WWF Championship
New main event: Triple H (c) vs. The Rock for the WWF ChampionshipThis really should've been the main event, WM 2000 had only like 1 singles match and it featured The Kat (Jerry Lawler's girlfriend). So instead of a Fatal Four Way elimination match we get the Backlash main event as the WrestleMania main event. WrestleMania X-SevenOriginal main event: The Rock (c) vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin for the WWF ChampionshipThe only thing I'd change is that Austin doesn't turn heel, he stuns Vince after getting his help. WrestleMania X8Original main event: Chris Jericho (c) vs. Triple H for the Undisputed WWF Championship
New main event: Stone Cold Steve Austin (c) vs. Hollywood Hulk Hogan for the Undisputed WWF ChampionshipJericho's run as Undisputed Champ was wasted on Trips feud with Stephanie and honestly I believe it should've been Austin to walk out Undisputed champion, and should've faced Hollywood Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania X8 instead of Scott Hall (no disrespect but really?). The two biggest icons of the WWF finally clash and for the title as well, in the end a stunner ends the nWo as Hulk turns face after the match.

WrestleMania XIXOriginal main event: Kurt Angle (c) vs. Brock Lesnar for the WWE ChampionshipGood main event, only change is that Brock doesn't botch the shooting star press. WrestleMania XXOriginal main event: Triple H (c) vs. Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Benoit for the World Heavyweight ChampionshipGreat main event. WrestleMania 21Original main event: Triple H (c) vs. Batista for the World Heavyweight Championship
New main event: Triple H (c) vs. Randy Orton for the World Heavyweight ChampionshipDave can turn later, it was obvious they were trying to make Randy the big baby face on RAW before they botched it. Orton still beats Benoit but Evolution doesn't immediately turn on him, instead Triple H slowly gets jealous at the fact Orton was the one to beat Benoit and not him and that Orton has "Triple H's" title. Come Survivor Series, Triple H and Evolution turn on Orton and screw him out of the title, Orton wins the Rumble, and gets his revenge at Mania 21.

WrestleMania 22Original main event: John Cena (c) vs. Triple H for the WWE Championship
New main event: Edge (c) vs. John Cena for the WWE ChampionshipThis feud really should've gotten a WrestleMania main event, Edge and Foley was good as well as Cena vs. Triple H but I think the better the move would've been putting these two in the main event against each other. WrestleMania 23Original main event: John Cena (c) vs. Shawn Michaels for the WWE ChampionshipGreat main event, might have Shawn go over instead of Cena so HBK can have one last WWE Championship reign. WrestleMania XXIVOriginal main event: Edge (c) vs. The Undertaker for the World Heavyweight ChampionshipNew main event: Shawn Michaels vs. Ric Flair in a career match; if Flair loses he must retireWhile Edge vs Taker is a good match and main event, I think since it is Flair's last match it should main event instead.
