Mark Garcia Reports, at it again. The big news to report is the response of WWF wrestlers to the arrival of the WCW wrestlers was hardly unreasonable as Billy Gunn and Hardcore Holly have both been sent down to OVW, where they will join up with Val Venis. The Goodfather, Bull Buchanan and Crash Holly have been released as well (good luck paying Raven back Crash). Moving in the other direction, Mike Awesome, Lance Storm, Shawn Stasiak, Bill Demott and the Natural Born Thrillers, Palumbo and O’Haire have been called up to the main roster. These guys have been on an intensive crash course and picked up the WWF style pretty. If they expect support from the WWF crowds for these guys, I think they’re going to need more star power and fast. Lance Storm is clearly the pick of the bunch when it comes to in-ring work.
I’ll admit it, I was wrong about Tazz. He’s torn through the jobbers as well as getting a victory over the Dudley Boyz when he teamed with Kurt Angle.. The Tazzmission is being treated as the devastating submission manoeuvre is deserves to be. It will be interesting to see where he goes next. Meanwhile Raven is being pushed hard and had segments with pretty much everyone on the roster this month, from Vince, Triple and Stone Cold to Kaientai and Too Cool. There’s obviously a plan with him too. Ok, let’s get on to what happened this week.
First off, The Dudley Boyz were fired by Mr. McMahon, with the chairman of the board blaming them for Stephanie’s incapacitation (even though it was obviously Triple H who pushed her through the table). The WWF Tag Titles have been vacated which left Mick Foley scrambling to arrange a tournament, along with organising King of the Ring (more on this later). This left Vince in a foul mood, especially when Shane requested he be present to formally welcome his new WCW wrestlers onto the show. Shane’s first match was a WCW Tag Team Title match between The Thrillers and Mike Awesome and Lance Storm (The Awesome Storm). The Awesome Storm won to become the new champions but Shane wasn’t finished, booking a WCW Heavyweight Title match between Booker T and DDP later in the night. Shane finally managed to soften Vince’s mood when he introduced his new, personal assistant, Stacy Keibler.
WCW’s arrival hasn’t all been smooth sailing, with a noticeable confrontation over locker room space with the WWF guys as well as Lance Storm and Mike Awesome getting very well acquainted with WWF Hardcore Champion, Rhyno. Shane got to them before any violence took place.
In the tag team tournament, The A.P.A. battered Too Cool to advance, while Edge and Christian were knocked out early by X-Factor. X-Pac has chosen Albert to partner with him now, relegating Justin Credible to the subs bench. X-Pac got the win, using the ropes for leverage (this isn’t over). Edge and Christian vowed to move on from the loss, aiming to win King of the Ring but were beaten up by the unlikely alliance of Tazz and Big Show who told the roster they will be taken seriously from now on. Mick Foley continued his involvement, first putting William Regal in a match with The Rock, while then allowing Regal to book Jericho into a match with Rhyno for the Intercontinental Championship.
Right to Censor are no more but Steven Richards and Ivory are still around. Raven picked up a broken Steven Richards, still wearing his blood soaked white shirt (later booking him in a match with Kane on Metal), while Ivory managed to get support from Trish and Lita despite all the horrible things she’s done in the past.
While the main event was supposed to showcase WCW, the match was initially declared a draw after Stone Cold attacked both men, demanding Vince, who was at ringside, to cancel his match at King of the Ring with The Rock. Vince, who was spellbound by Stacy, ignored him before The Rock chased Austin away. The Rock then requested the match be restarted with Booker T retained after pinning DDP.
Oh, and we got several pre-taped segments of Triple H at Stephanie’s hospital bedside (she’s in a coma) only to be disrupted by a very oblivious Kurt Angle. This would continue onto Smackdown where Stephanie would eventually wake up.
On Smackdown, Vince did his best to cancel the match between Rock and Austin, getting a Rock Bottom for his troubles. Vince had banned a one on one match between the two so Mick Foley made a tag team match for the main event, much to their annoyance. Vince quickly got over this, with Shane once again using Stacy as a buffer. Austin was furious at the match setup and demanded Jonathan Coachman find him a partner. His first pick was Brooklyn Brawler which didn’t go down well but his second choice, Rhyno, was accepted. However, Rhyno was attacked and chased away by the WCW wrestlers before the match.
Shane had a miserable night controlling his guys, with Test and Buff Bagwell annoyed they weren’t considered for the Heavyweight title match on Raw. Shane offered Test a shot at the United States Title but he declined, only wanting the Big Gold. Kanyon accepted and got the win after interference from Test and Buff Bagwell. In the main event, Test partnered Austin, while DDP teamed up with The Rock, with Test getting the decisive pinfall over DDP. Austin beat down The Rock after the match, in a segment that mirrored the end of Wrestlemania X7.
In the tag tournament, The Hardyz beat the new team of Tazz and Big Show by DQ, while The Undertaker and Kane quickly dispatched of Kaientai but took a post match beatdown by Bradshaw and Faarooq. The A.P.A. were furious with Undertaker and Kane for not helping in their previous fued with WCW. These guys are being booked pretty strong right now. Meanwhile, Tajiri’s WWF win streak came to an end when he lost to Rikishi. Regal clocked Rikishi with the brass knux, which knocked him out but he fell on Tajiri’s head, pinning him, despite being out cold. Rikishi recovered to give Regal a Stinky Face, Orchestrated by Jericho. Finally, Molly Holly beat Lita when she tried to stick up for Ivory. Jacqueline is leading the rest of the women’s locker room (Molly and Terri) against Ivory, Trish and Lita.
Things continued on Heat, where Christian beat Justin Credible, while Big Show beat Grand Master Sexay to advance in King of the Ring. Rikishi was put his rear end to work once again, this time giving Tazz the Stinky Face after the match that saw Too Cool, Edge and Christian and Rikishi fighting off Tazz and Big Show. Elsewhere, Mick Foley admitted the stresses of the job meant he’d fudged the tag tournament and forced X-Factor wrestle against the WCW team of the Thrillers to stay in the tournament. They lost and are out. Advancing to the semi-finals are; The Hardy Boyz, A.P.A., Undertaker and Kane and Chris Benoit and Eddie Guerrero after they beat fellow Radicalz, Saturn and Malenko.
Here’s my match recaps for the last week.

We are back folks, after a little break thanks to the everyone’s favourite distraction, the Westminster Dog Show and the US Open meant we’ve been deprived of our WWF content for longer than usual. But don’t worry, Mark Garcia Reports is back in action. So, what did we miss last week?
On Raw, Shane kicked off the show, introducing two more new WCW acquisitions, Shawn Stasiak and Hugh Morrus (now going by Bill Demott). They faced the Awesome Storm for the WCW Tag Championships and got beat. Pretty blah. The WCW roster is growing but I can’t tell if this lack of star power is deliberate or not. In any case, Booker T, DDP, Bagwell, Test and Kanyon are getting good responses from the crowd. Meanwhile, Shane gave Test the opportunity to impress him after Test demanded a bigger spotlight last time. Test looked good in his match with DDP but lost after referee Charles Robinson missed his foot on the rope. Test pretty much blew up on Robinson, hitting him with a Big Boot, much to the disgust of Shane and DDP.
No sign of Vince on Raw who was at the hospital with Stephanie. This left Foley and Regal in charge, with Foley desperate for the show to run smoothly and without incident. But this is the WWF so you know that’s not gonna happen. First off, Foley’s tag tournament completely derailed. The Hardyz against the Radicalz ended in a no contest when referee Chad Patton got a little over excited after separating Trish, Terri and Lita. The referee ran backstage to hide his erm… enthusiasm. Meanwhile, Undertaker and Kane didn’t even make it to their match with the A.P.A. who attacked them during their entrance. The two teams brawled through the backstage area the rest of the night, leaving a trail of destruction behind them.
Elsewhere, The Rock got revenge on Austin for the finish on Smackdown, completely destroying Austin’s pickup with a lead pipe and the chaos continued later on when Tazz completely destroyed Rikishi in their King of the Ring quarter final. After the match, he was still livid about the Stinky Face he received on Heat and Tazz smashed Rikishi’s knee with a cinder block. The commentators sold it really strong and Rikishi left on a stretcher. You can thank Raven for this, as he told Tazz to unleash his inner ECW on Rikishi. Tazz advances, joining Edge in the next round who beat X-Pac.
Austin was fuming all night and tried to hire the A.P.A. to protect him but Foley banned Bradshaw and Faarooq taking on more clients for their role in ruining his tournament. However, he accepted that Austin needed protection from The Rock so Foley appointed Tajiri as Austin's bodyguard, much to the annoyance of Regal. Later, after a run in with the WWF women’s locker room, Foley announced he was done trying to fix problems on his own and admitted he needed help.
Over in the hospital, Kurt Angle let slip to Stephanie that it wasn’t The Dudley Boyz who put her through the table but Triple H, which left Stephanie angry at him, refusing to talk to him. It almost looked as though Angle and Stephanie might kiss until Vince arrived. Oh boy, this is where they’re going then. Later, Triple H apologised to Angle for being a jerk to him and thanked him for all the support.
Finally, in the main event The Rock and Chris Jericho teamed up to face Big Show and Tajiri. Austin ducked out of the match at the last minute, putting his bodyguard into the action. Regal raised the stakes for Jericho saying whoever got the winning pinfall would be the number one contender to the WWF Intercontinental Title, even if it was The Rock. During the match, Austin interfered with a gang of police officers who arrested The Rock for the attack on his pickup earlier in the night, leaving Jericho to fight the match alone. Austin distracted Jericho, allowing Tajiri to hit a Buzzsaw Kick to pin and win. Tajiri is the number one contender for Jericho’s title.
On Smackdown, Steve Austin and William Regal conspired against The Rock some more, instigating a restraining order against the Brahma Bull. Mick Foley was furious with Regal for his constant transgressions. Regal tried to cancel Austin’s title defence at King of the Ring with The Rock out of the picture, Angle and Triple H elsewhere and The Undertaker and Kane banned from challenging Austin but they were quickly interrupted by Chris Jericho who believed he should be a challenger. So eager for the opportunity he even challenged Regal, Tajiri and Austin to a handicap match in the main event. Foley rejected the opportunity, saying he would find partners for Jericho. Foley introduced Al Snow as Jericho’s partner and Foley’s personal assistant. In the end, the main event ended up being a handicap match anyway.
Test did not take his punishment from Shane well, attacking him and leaving him needing hospital treatment. Shane left Stacy in charge but needed Mick Foley to accompany him to the hospital, leaving Regal in complete control of the show. He then clocked Al Snow with the brass knux leaving him out of action and Jericho struggled to find partners through the night. Test and Buff Bagwell used Shane’s absence to bully Stacy Keibler into putting them in title matches. Bagwell beat Kanyon to become the WCW United States Champion after Test intimidate Charles Robinson. The WCW official refused to officiate the WCW Heavyweight Title match between Booker T and Test, so Stacy stepped in as the referee. She refused to be bullied by Test, even when he spat in her face. Booker T hit a Bookend and Stacy counted the quick pin for him to retain. Kanyon and DDP helped out Booker T and Stacy and Stacy promised there would be consequences for both men. It got worse for Stacy too, when after Rhyno defeated Jerry Lynn to advance in the King of the Ring qualifier, several WCW wrestlers attacked him with Bill Demott winning the WWF Hardcore Title from the man beast. Stacy quickly made up for the attack, booking a Hardcore match on Raw between the two men.
Foley announced a four way dance at King of the Ring for the WWF Tag Team Titles between The Hardyz, The A.P.A., Undertaker and Kane and Guerrero and Benoit. What a match that’s gonna be! Earlier in the night, more arguing between Terri, Trish and Lita saw The Hardyz lose to Dean Malenko and Perry Saturn. They were all set to be rushed by all four Radicalz until they were saved by The Undertaker and Kane. The Hardyz promised they had their backs until King of the Ring.
Too Cool demanded revenge from Tazz but, after Raven’s suggestion that he shouldn’t be wasting his time with them, Tazz partnered with Big Show. They wanted to prove they were the most dominant team in the WWF by challenging The Undertaker and Kane. Big Show got the decisive pin after the ring was surrounded by the A.P.A. and Radicalz and after the match, they beat on The Brothers of Destruction in a six on two attack. The Hardy Boyz rushed down to the ring but changed their minds, leaving the assault to continue. They later admitted their best chance of beating The Undertaker and Kane was when they were down and out.
Over in the hospital, Angle and Stephanie kissed, only to be caught by Vince McMahon. Stephanie was later discharged from the hospital, with Vince not allowing either man to accompany them back to Greenwich.
In the main event, the match went ahead as a 3 on 1 handicap match, with Austin enjoying beating down on an already fatigued Chris Jericho. However, before a pinfall was made, Mick Foley interrupted, informing them all that the restraining order could not be enforced during matches, meaning The Rock was free to team with Jericho after all. A dazed Al Snow also made it to the ring to even the score. Jericho was able to get the win, forcing Tajiri to tap out to the Walls of Jericho, while The Rock chased Austin out of the arena.
On Heat, Al Snow got some measure of revenge, beating William Regal in a match setup by Commissioner Foley. During the pre-match, Foley managed to pickpocket the brass knux from Regal, which allowed Snow to get the win. Albert retained the European Title, defeating Jerry Lynn while Trish also retained, beating Terri who demanded a match after being humiliated on Smackdown. Later, Terri, Jacqueline and Molly Holly beat up Trish.
Here’s my match recaps for the last week.

CHAMPIONSHIP RECAP
And there you go. Sorry for the lack of updates the last few weeks, sometimes real life gets in the way of wrestling. And yes, that might include dog shows and tennis but also this dirt sheet writer has to make his ends meet elsewhere and it's a busy time of year. But thanks for sticking with me. Hopefully there won't be so many more distractions over the next few weeks but who knows what the TV schedule (and other stuff) might throw up! MGR

Woah! MGR here recapping an insane week in the WWF. Hats off to the writers, don’t let it go to your head but this is probably my favourite week of WWF television in sometime. There’s a lot to get through as pretty much every story on the roster crossed over this week but it’s worth the pay off. Trust me.
Raw opened hot, with The People's Champion so fed up with the constant conspiring by Vince McMahon and Commissioner Regal, that The Rock threatened to walk out and join WCW, which obviously peaked Shane’s interest. The Rock finally relented when Vince accepted the two meet in the ring tonight, but said no WWF superstar would be allowed to partner with them or be fired (This caveat was done to stop Mick Foley messing with Vince’s plans). Shane said that rule wouldn’t apply to his guys, setting up a co-branded WWF/WCW main event. To sweeten the deal, Shane suggested Stacy join Vince in his private box for the night, something that would become clear later on.
Vince wasn’t the only McMahon back on the show, Stephanie was back too, as were Triple H and Kurt Angle. Foley put Triple H and Angle into a tag match to get their sharpness back up, while Vince and Regal were awkward around Stephanie, with seemingly everyone but Triple H aware that Stephanie kissed Kurt last week. Even Kaientai, Triple H and Angle’s opponents, got in on the joke, with Taka Michinoku saying Triple H might be the game, but it’s him who is being played, while Funaki signed off saying Infidelity instead of Indeed. Triple H and Angle beat Kaientai convincingly (which was really, really good) but after the match, a film played on the titantron called ‘The Truth’ which showed some of the moments between Kurt and Stephanie at the hospital. Triple H had already left the ring area by this point but Angle seemed terrified. Later, when Triple H tried to get answers out Vince, he dodged the subject, instead booking a number one contenders match between The Rock and Triple H on Smackdown which managed to distract The Game.
The Undertaker and Kane defeated The Hardy Boyz in a valiant effort but in the concessions area, the Radicalz and A.P.A. brawled after Raven and Steven Richards stole the A.P.A.’s beers. Speaking of Raven, he’s getting Richards to write down his advice in some scrappy bits of papers, calling it Raven's manifesto, trying to encourage other wrestlers to buy into his programme.
Shane lamented the breakdown of his friendship with Test, which led Vince to tell him to grow up and not treat his wrestlers as friends. Vince told him to divide and conquer, which Shane did, booking Buff Bagwell as Stone Cold’s partner in the main event, which pissed off Test. Test wasn’t done, wanting revenge on Stacy for her screwing him in his match with Booker T last week but when he went to accost her in Vince’s box, he was taken out by the security guards. Vince had doubled up the security to stop Stone Cold bothering him when he found out about the main event. Shane doubled down Test’s punishment, suspending him for his actions and warning him he’d be fired if he tried to go after Stacy again.
Rhyno won back the WWF Hardcore Title, beating Bill Demott in a real slobberknocker, both men knocked lumps out of each other, while Scotty 2 Hotty got a surprise win over Albert in his King of the Ring quarter final match after interference from Jerry Lynn who’s really been in a thorn in the side of X-Factor of late. In another surprise, Tajiri got a major win over Chris Jericho, winning the WWF Intercontinental Championship from Y2J. Foley had banned Regal from ringside but clearly Regal’s teachings rubbed off on Tajiri; the Japanese Buzzsaw blinded Jericho with Green Mist. It’s the first time he’s used that move in the WWF.
Tajiri has been in a lot of segments with Stone Cold recently, acting as his bodyguard and these segments are great. Speaking of Stone Cold, he’s got this new back and forth relationship with Jonathan Coachman who interviews him on arrival, giving him the bad news of his matches. All good stuff. Austin tried to get back into Triple H’s good books but Triple H wasn’t having any of that, even noting Austin hadn't called to check on Stephanie once while in the hospital. It looks like they’re going to turn Triple H face.
Elsewhere, Foley has tasked Al Snow to deal with the trouble in the WWF Women’s locker room. He led them in trust falls and therapy sessions which went about as well as you’d think, leading to Ivory dropping Jacqueline on her head.
In the main event, The Rock and Booker T went up against the team of Stone Cold and Buff Bagwell. Before the match, Stacy and Shane shared a moment, maybe a romance angle incoming here? In the match, Austin would only get into the ring when his team had the advantage and eventually left Bagwell to get double teamed by The Rock and Booker T. The Rock pinned Bagwell for the win in a pretty good match.
On Smackdown, Mick Foley reminisced about his first month back in the Commissioner role, reminding everyone it had been 30 days since the WWF Title was last defended. They had a funny thing on the titantron as Foley took out guys already involved in matches at King of the Ring and eliminated everyone until only Funaki was left. He decided against that match before remembering the WCW roster were in the building and made a title v title match between Booker T and Stone Cold. Vince made Mick Foley the special guest referee, making him entirely responsible for the outcome of the match.
Elsewhere, Jericho was pissed at the result of his match on Raw, trashing Regal’s office and then getting involved in both Regal and Tajiri’s King of the Ring qualifiers. First, he stuck it to Regal with the brass knux, allowing Taka Michinoku to cause an upset with a roll up. Then, after Regal promised Jericho would be fired if he harmed a hair on Tajiri’s head, Jericho smashed Steven Richards with a chair, getting Tajiri disqualified. The night wasn’t over for these two.
Later, Triple H and The Rock fought to a double count out. Part 2 of ‘The Truth’ played on the titantron and Triple H ran backstage to get answers from Angle. Austin tried to be clever and rushed to the ring, flaunting the restraining order which meant The Rock had to leave to get the required distance between them. A draw. Still no definitive contender but I think we all know where we’re headed here. After the match, Foley chewed out Austin but told him he’d violated the restraining order by looking for trouble. These guys would see each other again in the main event.
The Undertaker and Kane shared a bottle of Jack Daniels with The Hardy Boyz as they watched The A.P.A. get the win over Benoit and Guerrero. Skipping ahead to Heat, Foley announced ‘Mick Foley’s Mix Ups’ where he’d pair guys from different teams up next week. That should be interesting.
Meanwhile, Stephanie spent the night trying to avoid Triple H, as well as getting into it with Shane and Stacy in a heated exchange that saw Stacy block an attempted slap on Shane. Stephanie accompanied Kurt Angle to the ring as he talked smack about the Pittsburgh crowd ahead of his match with Chris Jericho. During the match, Tajiri tried to exact some revenge on Jericho but Tajiri's green mist attack hit Stephanie straight in the face. Jericho got the win and Triple H was fuming with both Angle and Tajiri. In the tussle, they all bundled into Stephanie, which left her requiring medical treatment and got Vince hot.
In the main event, a historic match as the WWF and WCW Heavyweight Titles were defended but you always knew they’re not doing that on free tv. Foley was there as the special ref, while The Rock was on commentary, now free to get close to Austin. Austin did his best to get disqualified but Foley let the match play out. When Austin tried to leave, The Rock stopped him, sending him back into the ring. Test attacked The Rock before smashing Booker T with a Big Boot, which left Foley with no option to give Booker T the DQ win. After the match, Austin hit Foley with a Stunner while Test beat on Booker T, despite his suspension.
Raven continued his mischief, leading Edge and Christian into an altercation with Big Show and Tazz. These guys, as well as Rhyno, Taka Michinoku, Steven Richards and Scotty 2 Hotty are the King of the Ring quarter finalists. Al Snow continued to try and get the WWF Women to bond, taking them out to a local hooters. The WWF Divas got into a fight with the waitresses, but Snow considered it a success as they were working together.
On Heat, Foley promised Austin he was on his bad side, vowing to make sure his match with The Rock went ahead at King of the Ring. He also made X-Pac and Jerry Lynn team captains of the final 8 King of the Ring participants. Jerry Lynn got the winning pinfall over X-Pac but after the match, X-Pac stole the WWF Light Heavyweight Championship. Elsewhere, Foley gave Funaki a shot at Albert’s European Title for not allowing him challenge Austin on Smackdown and Spike Dudley made his return, defeating Justin Credible. Spike has been out of action since Triple H and Austin broke his leg a few weeks ago. Finally, Mick Foley admitted he was going to abuse his position, setting up a match between Tajiri and Al Snow for the the WWF Intercontinental Title. Tajiri got the victory to round out the week.

King of the Ring is just a week away. We've got our quarter finalists coming up next week, as well as an eight man tag match and surely a WWF Title match between Rock and Austin coming up. I was really surprised at the Intercontinental title change between Tajiri and Jericho so I guess a rematch at King of the Ring is inevitable. The events taking place in Philly, who are always a raucous crowd. Any ideas what's gonna go off, who's gonna win King of the Ring? Let me know and see you on the dark side! MGR

Are you still with me guys? Mark Garcia Reports is back and after last week’s events, I needed a lie down. Things got back to a more even keel this week as King of the Ring approaches. I’ve got the match ups for your predictions down below but first, what happened on Raw and Smackdown? A left field call was made with the arrival of the WCW Cruiserweights. Billy Kidman made his debut on Raw before winning the WCW Cruiserweight Title on Smackdown in a Fatal Fourway defeating Shane Helms, Alex Wright and Juventud Guerrera. It’s good to see these guys back in action as they really helped WCW’s midcard flourish and hopefully this will be an opportunity to see that happen again. Shane’s WCW roster has grown considerably since the four guys on his debut a couple of weeks back but the big money guys are still on those AOL contracts. However, they’re being patient and as the weeks tick by, those contracts start becoming worth less and less and we’ll just have to wait and see what happens. Even though WCW are still around on WWF TV, things appear to be mostly cordial between Vince and Shane on screen and I'm not hearing anything about a WCW 'invasion' style angle at the moment. In any case, without some rearranging, a WCW invasion would be very difficult with this roster, not just in size but reputation too.
Raw kicked off from Washington DC with The Rock and Austin opening the show with a verbal sparring competition and ended with a beatdown of The Rock by a mixture of WWF and WCW wrestlers who Austin thought were more deserving competitors. It led to a Gauntlet Match in the main event.
Shane told off his WCW wrestlers for getting involved and Shawn Stasiak complained that Shane was playing favourites, only booking DDP and Booker T in the big matches and they wanted to take matters into their own hands. Shane took some responsibility and booked Kanyon and the debuting Billy Kidman to face Buff Bagwell for the US Title. Kidman looked good in his WWF debut but Bagwell got the win, using sneaky heel tactics.
Triple H was on a warpath, looking for Kurt Angle and Tajiri, which almost led to a confrontation between The Game and Austin, who wanted Triple H onside. Meanwhile, Angle spent the night hiding in the production truck, messing up the show and annoying the crew. Angle claimed he wouldn’t leave until he found out who was responsible for ‘The Truth’ videos that played last week. He did save the WWF’s blushes however, cutting the feed of the secret camera that Al Snow had installed in the women’s locker room to keep an eye on them, right before Trish Stratus disrobed. Obviously, a work but how could you, Kurt?! Mick Foley obviously ordered Snow to remove the camera immediately.
Speaking of Foley, the first match of Mick Foley’s Mix Ups took place when Bradshaw and Eddie Guerrero defeated Kane and Jeff Hardy. Bradshaw pinned Hardy, but also took out Guerrero when the two men argued. The A.P.A. are being booked really strong, almost equally as bad ass as The Undertaker and Kane.
Foley wasn’t finished, putting Triple H and Jericho into a team with the returning Spike Dudley against Austin, Regal and Tajiri. Neither Jericho or Spike trusted Triple H, although Spike told him he would be back for him after dealing with Austin. Triple H was once again distracted by ‘The Truth’ video that played during the match, finally revealing to Triple H that Angle and Stephanie kissed at the hospital. Tajiri pinned Spike but post match, sprayed Regal in the face with the Green Mist accidentally. This allowed Jericho to lock Regal in the Walls of Jericho, with Y2J demanding a rematch against Tajiri at King of the Ring, which he finally accepted.
The King of the Ring progressed, with Christian overcoming Rhyno in the Quarter Finals and Tazz defeating Scotty 2 Hotty. Scotty was so close to getting the win but Raven and Steven Richards interfered. After the match, Tazz tried that same move with the cinder block that took out Rikishi, but Edge and Christian ran him off. They’ve been teasing a break up of X-Factor for a few weeks now, with X-Pac constantly belittling Justin Credible. X-Pac claimed both he and Albert were champions, even though X-Pac holds Jerry Lynn’s stolen Light Heavyweight Title.
In the main event, The Rock got through Shawn Stasiak without too much trouble but Big Show presented a much more imposing challenger. After getting through him, Kurt Angle joined the gauntlet but Angle chased away by Triple H and counted out (Vince and Stephanie had encouraged Kurt Angle to stay and participate in the match, wanting to be as far away from Angle as possible when Triple H caught up with him). Lance Storm and Mike Awesome were also taken out by The Rock’s valiant effort before the two men double teamed him in frustration for their elimination, putting The Rock through the announce table with an aided powerbomb. Diamond Dallas Page, who had earlier requested to Shane to be involved in the match came to the ring but took pity on The Rock, trying to help him to his feet and encouraged EMT’s to help. Test came in through the crowd, knocking out DDP with a chair before hitting The Rock with a Big Boot to pin and win the match, becoming the number one contender to Austin’s title.
Yeah, no. On Smackdown, Vince was having none of Test’s antics and said since he was Shane’s problem, Test would face Booker T and Diamond Dallas Page for the WCW Heavyweight Title in a Triple Threat Match. The Rock interrupted proceedings demanding Vince make his match with Austin official at King of the Ring. When Vince refused, noting The Rock lost on Monday, The Rock told Shane he would sign the contract WCW had offered. Vince backtracked and set up the match and but begged The Rock not to sign with Shane. The interruptions continued when Triple H demanded Vince tell him where Stephanie and Kurt were hiding. Shane used the division to set up a main event between The Rock, Triple H, Booker T, DDP and Chris Jericho against rivals Austin, Test, Buff Bagwell, Kurt Angle and William Regal.
Mick Foley booked Tajiri to defend the WWF Intercontinental Tile against Kane, much to the horror of both Tajiri and Regal. Despite his beef with Jericho, Regal has started to show a softer side in his relationship with Tajiri, which actually appears quite touching. Regal even went as far as standing up to Austin when he demanded Tajiri take his place in the main event. Kane beat Tajiri by DQ so he retains, after interference from The Radicalz and A.P.A. Earlier in the night, Mick Foley’s Mix Ups continued as The Undertaker and Matt Hardy defeated Faarooq and Benoit. The Hardyz did come to Kane and Undertaker’s rescue and the four teams brawled until Mick Foley stopped them to inform them that the tag match at King of the Ring would be a Tables, Ladders and Chairs match.
Despite having formed an alliance recently, Tazz and Big Show argued when Tazz chewed out the giant for his lack of support with Edge, Christian and Too Cool on Raw. Big Show said he had his eyes on the WWF Title and that was more important than Tazz’s little feuds. Big Show squashed Taka Michinoku while Edge got past Steven Richards as the final four in the King of the Ring took their places, joining Christian and Tazz in the Semi-Finals.
Kurt Angle tried to appease Triple H claiming to know the identity behind the mysterious Truth videos, organising X-Factor to drag Spike Dudley out of the ring. Spike admitted it was him; revenge for the broken leg and getting his brothers fired. Kurt thought the confession would make them even but Triple H didn’t care, and tried to attack Angle. Stephanie got in his face and slapped him, saying she was leaving him for Kurt. Spike showed a further ‘Truth’ video, of a motel room Kurt and Stephanie stayed in after last weeks Raw, getting some very compromising audio that alluded to some pretty X-rated stuff. Later in the night, Mick Foley suggested a match pitting Triple H against Kurt Angle at King of the Ring which Angle flat out rejected until he was pressured into it by Stephanie. Foley made it extra spicy, making it a No Holds Barred match.
As mentioned, Shane showcased a Fatal Four Way between the cruiserweights that saw Billy Kidman become the WCW Cruiserweight Title while Al Snow found a number one contender for the Women’s title, holding a hot dog eating competition, won by Molly Holly. The whole thing degenerated into a food fight, with the women spraying each other with ketchup and mustard.
The main event was a big, dirty house show style affair but a bit of fun. Triple H once again chased Angle out of the arena, meaning their impact in the match was minimal. The match ended with Test pinning Booker T, who hit a Big Boot into a chair into his face, putting him over strong ahead of the pay per view. Rock and Austin didn’t get much action with each other either as they’re clearly saving it until King of the Ring.
This week’s match recaps!

And that was that. Another couple of good shows and some interesting match ups coming up. Here’s the card below, including the buy in on Sunday Night Heat. They've added Too Cool and Kidman taking on Steven Richards and The Awesome Storm. It seems like after all the chaos, Raven still ain't stepping into the ring anytime soon. The only other tidbit to note is that Rhyno will be in Jerry Lynn's corner to help with X-Factor in their match. Let me know your predictions! Any other thoughts for the night in front of an always electric Philadelphia crowd?

King of the Ring is in the books and I gotta say, Mark Garcia Reports did not see that coming. For weeks, Vince has been paranoid of Shane McMahon and WCW threatening his stranglehold on wrestling. However, while he was fixated on WCW, it allowed Paul Heyman to sneak in the backdoor and orchestrate the return of Extreme Championship Wrestling.
Anyone hoping for the conclusion of the Rock / Austin saga will have to wait a little while longer. The match was as you would expect for these guys who are quite literally icons of the business at this point. It was a great match but it will be remembered for the finish. With referee Earl Hebner down and out after a botched clothesline from Austin, the Texas Rattlesnake looked set to repeat the finish of Wrestlemania X7, bringing a chair in from the outside. Before Austin could do the damage, two balaclava-clad men, dressed in black, stepped into the ring, attacking Austin and hitting him with a 3D. It was the return of the Dudley Boyz who followed up with a huge powerbomb through a table. During this time, Earl Hebner had recovered and awarded Austin the DQ victory. The Dudleyz got a huge pop at first but The Rock was furious with them for costing him the match and they attacked him, with The Rock coming out on top. Rock was then attacked by another four men in black, armed with kendo sticks. They revealed themselves to be Rob Van Dam, Sabu, Tommy Dreamer and Sandman. Paul Heyman stepped off commentary to cut a promo telling the Philadelphia crowd that ECW were back. Unreal! Heyman can deliver a promo at the best of times but the time and the place worked perfectly. Goosebumps. I still can't believe it.
Let's go back to the start of the night. Sunday Night Heat’s pre-show opened as Trish retained her WWF Women’s title as she really grows into the role of champion. After the match, the WWF Women’s locker room made a pact to work together going forward. Yeah right, let’s see how long that lasts for. The makeshift team of Steven Richards, Mike Awesome and Lance Storm defeated Too Cool and Billy Kidman. Meanwhile, X-Pac cheated his way to victory to win the WWF Light Heavyweight Title, defeating Jerry Lynn, who had Rhyno in his corner. When Paul Heyman would later declare ECW were back, he alluded to bringing an entire roster together, so seeing a lot of these guys in action was seemingly a way to build momentum for them.
The King of the Ring competition opened the show; Tazz beat Christian in a decisive semi final match. Tazz and Big Show’s alliance is definitely over. Big Show’s overconfidence pissed off Tazz and he even came to ringside to help Big Show beat Edge to prove he could take on the giant himself. With Big Show distracted by Tazz's presence, Christian appeared and both he and Edge clocked Big Show with a Con-Chair-To, allowing Edge to win. In the final, Tazz beat Edge in a good contest, with Tazz forcing Edge to submit to the Tazzmission, countering a spear. Tazz is the 2001 King of the Ring. What a career turnaround he's had, from looking finished on the announce table to winning King of the Ring. You have to wonder where he's going next. Big Show came down to interrupt the post match ceremony, smashing up the trophy.
It turned out that The Rock arrived to the event in Shane McMahon’s limo, leading Vince and Austin to believe that The Rock had already signed with WCW. Vince tried to cancel the WCW Heavyweight Title match as punishment, with he and Austin dragging Shane backstage to question him, leaving Stacy Keibler in charge of proceedings. Test appeared at ringside with Buff Bagwell in his corner, daring Stacy to disqualify him and ruin Shane’s big showcase match. Kanyon would appear to chase Bagwell away, while Stacy got revenge on Test, stealing the chair he was trying to use, distracting him long enough for Booker T to pin and retain. As the stipulation dictates, Test is now fired from WCW.
Chris Jericho won back the Intercontinental Championship, beating Tajiri. With Regal in his corner, Co-Commissioner Foley came down to ringside to ensure fairness prevailed, going so far as to hit Regal with a Double Arm DDT. Regal then took Tajiri’s green mist attack, when Jericho ducked, before Jericho forced Tajiri to submit to the Walls of Jericho. Tajiri had a tantrum after the match, while Regal tried to console him.
And then the TLC match for the vacant WWF Tag Team Titles. A lot was made about this, with only The Hardy Boyz having any experience in this kind of match. It was a car wreck, with a number of huge spots, featuring tables, ladders and chairs. It was every bit as good as the TLC's we've seen before with the new personnel really spicing things up. A few of my personal favourite spots were Faarooq hitting Jeff Hardy with a Dominator on a seesaw ladder setup, which took out Matt Hardy and Chris Benoit at once. At one point, Eddie Guerrero was hanging from the belts after Kane had taken the ladder away and Guerrero dropped onto Undertaker's shoulders, right into a Last Ride. Undertaker and Kane were able to win the match, when Kane recovered the belts. Incredible. The Brothers of Destruction later cut a promo promising to be fighting champions, giving a lot of respect to the other guys in the match.
Finally, an epic No Hold’s Barred match between Kurt Angle and Triple H, which was more of a fight than a match. Triple H is pretty much face at this point, with Angle playing the role of the chickenshit heel. It was the best match on the card, edging out the main event from an in ring point of view. Triple H attacked Angle on the ramp, busting him open pretty much straight away. After some Angle offence, Triple H got back in control, pummelling Angle in the head repeatedly until Stephanie came down to the ring to help Kurt. Triple H put Angle through the announce table with a Pedigree, before bringing out a sledgehammer. Before he could use it, Spike Dudley appeared to introduce the final part of the ‘Truth’ videos, revealing Angle and Stephanie’s steamy motel conversation was just Stephanie holding his medals. Seemed a bit silly, seems like the writers might have worked themselves down a rabbit hole. Anyhow, Angle took the advantage to hit a lowblow to take control, hitting an Angle Slam and then trying to choke Triple H with the sledgehammer. He pinned Triple H down, getting a three count almost by accident and the win, only stopping when Stephanie pulled him off. Angle demanded an explanation but got a slap for his troubles, followed by a Pedigree. Triple H thought this meant Stephanie was back on his side but got a slap himself. As she left the ring, she slapped Spike Dudley too for good measure. Angle might have won the match but he didn’t look like much of a winner, having to be assisted to the back after the match.
King of the Ring match scores.

CHAMPIONSHIP RECAP
And that rounds us out. What a night. I might be getting a bit carried away with myself but we went from just one wrestling company back to three in a matter of weeks. Yeah, yeah, so all these ECW and WCW guys are under WWF contracts but shush. Raw is live from MSG tomorrow night and I'm sure there will be some fireworks. Any ideas what's gonna happen? Will any of these brands team up? Who can we expect to join ECW?
Finally, thanks for your predictions. This time, dhk1989 pipped Asaemon on the night, but he still leads on account of more correct picks from previous reports.

What's up everybody, another crazy couple of weeks but your weekly dose of World Wrestling Federation action is back with Mark Garcia Reports. King of the Ring is in the books and ended with a huge cliffhanger with the re-emergence of ECW. Some kind of invasion angle had been rumoured for a while but we all thought it would be WCW with Shane McMahon's recent moves. There general feeling was that there wasn't enough 'star power' in the current crop of WCW wrestlers that have been signed but what do you think about the ECW roster? So far it's The Dudley Boyz, Rob Van Dam, Sabu, Tommy Dreamer and Sandman, but as you'll see there's been a bunch of defections already.
This last week in the WWF, we saw the return of Extreme Championship wrestling. I normally do a roster recap at this point but I’m gonna leave it a few more days as I expect a few more jumps happening. Raw was live from MSG, home turf for the WWF as J.R. pointed out several times, while King referred to them as Extremely Crappy Wrestling all night long.
Paul Heyman and his ECW wrestlers opened the show, demanding Vince come to the ring. Heyman dressed him and the McMahon family down for killing the wrestling business, noting that as much as he hated WCW, seeing Shane flaunt it around just to prank to his dad pushed him over the edge. Heyman said that it didn’t take talent to do what Vince and Shane do, just obscene amounts of money. He might not be wrong. Vince said he wasn’t worried about ECW, noting their lack of wrestling infrastructure (even Shane has belts and referees) and ended up taking a 3D from The Dudley Boyz. The Undertaker and Kane interrupted proceedings, saying that ECW failed the locker room code by not introducing themselves to him. Undertaker wanted to make that right, and even offered to put their newly won tag titles on the line. Despite the Dudley Boyz requests, Heyman allowed Tommy Dreamer and Sandman to challenge the Brothers of Destruction.
The Undertaker and Kane beat Dreamer and Sandman, who were still put over pretty strong. Both guys kicked out of a Chokeslam, with J.R. referring to them as ‘tough as old boots’.
The Rock was furious with the ending of King of the Ring, demanding Foley book a rematch for the main event. Foley acquiesced, making the match No-DQ to ensure no funny business. The Rock’s showing a bit of a mean streak recently, going as far as threatening Foley if he refused. The title chase might be a way of turning him heel if that’s what they’re thinking. Austin spent the night trying to get in Vince’s ear, encouraging him to cancel the match but Vince chewed him out and told him to go away. Later, Austin had a moment with Heyman and ECW, and Austin admitted that he’d consider moving to ECW if they got him out of his match with The Rock.
And then came the defections. First, it was Shane and WCW who lost guys. Shane had told Buff Bagwell he’d be defending the US Title every week until he dropped it, after his behaviour with Test last month. Bagwell retained against Shane Helms and got one step ahead of Shane, announcing he was joining ECW and taking the WCW US Title with him. Heyman then introduced a whole host of title holders, WCW Tag Champions, Lance Storm and Mike Awesome, WWF Hardcore Champion, Rhyno as well as the newly minted King of the Ring, Tazz. Heyman stuck it to Shane even further, announcing that ECW had signed Test after Shane had fired him last night. Test has now been on the WWF, WCW and now ECW books in about 6 weeks! Vince sent out the cavalry for an impromptu match and the ECW guys got a respectable win.
X-Pac was pissed that the arrival of ECW had taken the shine of his Light Heavyweight title win and offered an open challenge to any non-ECW wrestler. The call was answered by Taka Michinoku who got the pin, taking the title off X-Pac after only one day, courtesy of interference from Jerry Lynn. Justin Credible found it impossible not to laugh at X-Pac and when he was attacked by X-Factor, he and Lynn fought them off, declaring themselves for ECW as well. Later in the night, Raven and Steven Richards (rechristened Stevie Richards) told The Rock they had gone extreme, encouraging him to do the same.
Triple H found Spike Dudley backstage and tried to thank him for getting to the bottom of what happened with Angle and Stephanie. However, Spike said they were nowhere close to being even, orchestrating an attack by The Dudley Boyz, beating the crap out of The Game. The WWF women weren’t able to escape the beef either, with Francine, Dawn Marie and Beulah announcing that they were taking control of the women’s locker room.
More commissioner shenanigans occurred when Mick Foley took the night off to reminisce with old buddy, Terry Funk. When William Regal complained, Funk suggested a match between Regal and Sabu in an ECW Rules Match. Sabu won with an incredible move, vaulting over a chair from inside the ring and crashing through Regal on the announce table.
Vince tried to get the show back on the road, booking Triple H against The Big Show, but Big Show was attacked by Tazz, Dreamer and Sandman on the ramp. This allowed Heyman to introduce Rob Van Dam to the WWF crowd who demonstrated an incredible offence in an extremely even match with Triple H. RVD got the win over Triple H, when he was distracted by Spike Dudley on the titantron, showing the Dudleyz stalking Stephanie McMahon backstage.
And then the main event. Considering there was only ten minutes left at this stage we should have seen something coming but the match never happened. Before the bell rang, the entire ECW roster came down to ring side. They allowed Austin to leave freely before brutalising The Rock and then turned on Earl Hebner, Howard Finkel and the camera men. They destroyed the ring area and the steps, even attacking fans (almost certainly plants) before attacking J.R. and Jerry Lawler. King was dragged into the ring but saved face, continuing to call ECW ‘extremely crappy wrestling’ before Tazz choked him out. Heyman announced that ECW were just getting started.
On Smackdown, Heyman implored more wrestlers to defect to ECW and was initially happy when Chris Jericho interrupted proceedings. However, instead of joining them, Jericho cut down the ECW guys. Raven stuck his nose in and helped set up a match between Jericho and Test for the Intercontinental Title. Vince wasn’t happy with the matchmaking and insisted that in return, Rhyno defend the Hardcore Title against Big Show, while Shane set up a four way dance for the WCW Tag Team titles. Heyman wanted to showcase what his guys could do in the ring and an eight man tag match was setup for the main event. Vince said he was sending his A-Team.
Jericho would go on to beat Test in the match but received a beatdown from Raven and Stevie Richards post-match, all at Heyman’s orchestration. He once again reminded everyone not to disrespect ECW.
Heyman’s call out put Vince on red alert, suspicious of anyone with an ECW past, namely Al Snow and the Radicalz. The Undertaker pointed out that Austin wrestled with ECW at one point, suggesting that was the reason why ECW let him go before the destruction on Raw.
Elsewhere, Rhyno defeated Big Show to retain after interference from Tazz and their feud from King of the Ring continues. Tazz has been named a senior figure in Heyman’s ECW and gave Buff Bagwell some advice to fit in the ECW locker room. However, it was all a ruse and when Bagwell put his US Title on the lane in an open challenge, Tazz answered it, winning the match and becoming the new WCW United States Champion.
Mick Foley asked Terry Funk to promise there would be no more repeats of Raw, which Funk swore was nothing to do with him. Regal was annoyed at Funk’s presence in the office, even more so when Funk suggested Tajiri join ECW. Foley had to get between the two, putting Regal and Tajiri in the WCW Title match. Regal and Tajiri looked to have a great understanding in the ring, although Tajiri has been demotivated since his loss to Jericho at King of the Ring. The Awesome Storm retained when Lance Storm stole Regal’s pin after a neckbreaker. Regal wasn’t the only one annoyed with Funk, with Al Snow also suggesting Foley was getting too close with Funk.
Vince found the Radicalz backstage and when they suggested they might be tempted to join ECW, Vince offered them all hush money to stay on the WWF side. Terri also managed to wrangle her way in, meaning the Radicalz are getting $250k between them. Little did they know, the whole exchange was overheard by Edge and Christian. Vince was later played again by the returning Tammy Sytch, once again going by Sunny. When she said Heyman had made her an offer, Vince upped his, telling her to find some clients. She'd go on to kick Lilian Garcia out of the interview area so she could interview The Rock but was put in her place.
Lita was beat up by the ECW women, which led to an argument between The Hardy Boyz and Sandman and Tommy Dreamer. This led to a match that the ECW guys won, with Francine clocking Matt with a kendo stick.
Vince tried to get Austin, Rock, Angle and Triple H to team up in the main event and it went about as well as cats in a sack. Austin would only wrestle if Vince guaranteed he would never have to defend the title against The Rock again, so was pretty pissed when he found out he was teaming with him. Meanwhile, Triple H flat out refused to team with Kurt and left. Stephanie told Kurt she was done with him after he stood by while The Dudley Boyz taunted her. Only the arrival of The Undertaker and Kane stopped it going further. While Vince and Shane were awkward around Stephanie, she was able to make up the numbers for the main event, bringing Undertaker and Kane in to take their places.
It didn’t go to plan for the WWF. When Austin provoked The Rock, the two immediately brawled to the outside before the match began, leaving The Undertaker and Kane in a handicap situation against the ECW team of Rob Van Dam, Sabu and The Dudleyz. They put up a brave fight but the numbers and ECW weapon antics were too much, with The Undertaker getting pinned after a 3D. ECW attempted to put Undertaker through a table until Stephanie interrupted, once again proving to Vince and Shane she has a part to play in this fight, bringing out the cavalry. The WWF wrestlers stormed the ring, chasing ECW into the crowd where they were promptly attacked by WCW. The McMahon’s stood victorious in the ring, while Jerry Lawler was delighted on the commentary table, saying goodnight to Extremely Crappy Wrestling, having held his tongue all night.
On Heat, ECW gained two more soldiers, when Albert and Juventud Guerrera left WWF and WCW respectively. Albert attacked X-Pac after they were beaten by Justin Credible and Jerry Lynn while Juvi hit a cheapshot on Billy Kidman after losing in their WCW Cruiserweight Title Match. Stevie Richards and Raven challenged Jericho to a match but he got the better of them, employing the A.P.A. to step in for him, knowing Raven would also be finding a replacement for the match as he doesn’t wrestle much these days. Test was chosen instead and after Bradshaw and Faarooq got the win, with Richards taking the brunt of the beating.
Shane taunted Buff Bagwell for his loss and when Bagwell begged for his job back in WCW, he put him in a match with DDP. It didn’t go well for Bagwell. His contract was only a short term one so it remains to be seen what’s going on with him. Finally, Edge and Christian tricked Vince, pretending to be on the phone to Heyman, letting him know they want in on the money offered to the Radicalz. Vince said there was no more money, but he would divide the $250k between them all, telling them to keep it quiet unless they wanted to dilute their share even more. The Radicalz were not happy.

CHAMPIONSHIP RECAPCrazy, I have no idea what's going to happen with Fully Loaded just three weeks away. The event is coming out of Toronto. Any ideas? Will any more wrestlers make a jump to ECW from WWF? And what's Terry Funk up to? Let me know if you have a theory. In the meantime; See you on the darkside! MGR

Mark Garcia Reports here and I guess we can talk about ECW now. Before we go through the boatload of defections and have a look where we are with the rosters, let's see where the battle lines are drawn. ECW definitely has the numbers over WCW and aren’t far off the WWF. Especially when you consider The Radicalz, Big Show and X-Pac are still true heels, while The A.P.A. and William Regal are on the grey side, still loyal to WWF but by no means faces. On the ECW side, Jerry Lynn and Justin Credible are sympathetic heels as they feud with X-Pac, while Tazz also blurs the lines. Speaking of Tazz, he is the in ringleader of ECW, on a real hot streak, while Mike Awesome and Lance Storm have been pushed hard (still unbeaten in the ring since their debut) and there’s obviously plans to keep pushing Raven and Tazz. The Dudleyz too are still being pushed hard, as is Rob Van Dam who you’ll see adds to his win last week over Triple H.
Ultimately, as strong as these ECW talents are being put over, the writers are seemingly aware that they are nowhere near big enough to challenge the top WWF wrestlers. The main story going forward seems to be that the WWF will comfortably be victorious, so long as Steve Austin and Rock can co-exist. There has been a change in writing this week too. Now that there’s an all out war between rosters, almost every angle has an effect on the other, creating a ripple effect where one minor storyline can be the catalyst for events right up to the main event.
Heyman and the ECW roster opened Raw, gloating that they beat the best of the WWF in their match on Smackdown. Vince mocked ECW for the beat down they received after, saying the match result was irrelevant as it was effectively a handicap match, considering Rock and Austin abandoned The Undertaker and Kane. He said once he recovered his title belts, ECW would be banned from the building. Shane appeared to agree, challenging Tazz to put up the WCW United States Championship. Tazz agreed to a match on Smackdown, as long as he was given the opportunity to face Booker T for the World Heavyweight Title tonight.
Despite interference from Lance Storm and Mike Awesome, Booker T got the win over Tazz, retaining the World Heavyweight Title. After the match, Big Show came out to help Booker T fight off Tazz and his goons but would not shake Booker T’s hand. Tazz verbally berated Big Show, calling him a fat, lazy slob and a waste of space. He claimed if he had the power Big Show did, he would dominate the wrestling industry.
Heyman demanded ring time to sort out some internal issues. Vince agreed, telling Shane any issues ECW had should be taken advantage of. Heyman was unhappy with Buff Bagwell and Test since their arrival in ECW and put them in a lumberjack match against each other with the loser being fired. Test won the match and Bagwell talked trash about ECW which resulted in Tazz doing that equalizer thing he did on Rikishi a few months ago, smashing his knee with a cinder block. In shoot, Bagwell wasn’t exactly popular in the dressing room since coming over from WCW and they have decided to write him off for a while but he is still under contract.
Mick Foley left Regal in charge while he and Terry Funk went off to reminisce again but not before he challenged Sunny to find new clients. This led to a story of her own, getting rejected by almost the entire locker room and arguing with Lilian Garcia over who was the chief interviewer.
Like the rest of us, Vince was sure that should Austin and Rock get a long, victory over ECW was pretty much a done deal but spent the entire night babysitting them both, after Paul Heyman greeted both men on arrival, trying to butter them up to join ECW. Both men were confined to the dressing room so Vince could keep an eye on them until a do-over main event from Smackdown, teaming Austin and Rock with The Hardy Boyz to face an ECW team.
Edge and Christian beat Saturn and Malenko, cutting them out of the $250k. After the match, Edge and Christian challenged The Radicalz to put it all on the line and they agreed.
Elsewhere, X-Pac hired Bradshaw and Faarooq in an effort to teach Justin Credible a lesson. Vince had told all WWF wrestlers to keep away from ECW, not wanting to give them the limelight. However, X-Pac set The A.P.A. loose which sparked a roster wide brawl. With McMahon engaged with Austin and Rock, Foley off rambling with Terry Funk, it was left to William Regal to try and right the ship. While the rosters brawled, he found Big Show beating up Rhyno in the backstage area and took the initiative, counting a pin to allow Big Show to become the Hardcore Champion. Big Show was fired up after Tazz’s comments and continued to tear through the ECW wrestlers trying to get to him. Regal also managed to organise The Undertaker and Kane to break up the fighting and they managed to get the show back on track, but not before Mike Awesome challenged Undertaker and Kane to a match.
Regal’s next move was to book Albert in a match with Tajiri in an effort to regain European Title but Tajiri got himself disqualified, spraying Albert with green mist in full view of the referee. The Commissioner was not happy at Tajiri squandering his opportunity.
Earlier, in the melee, Triple H had been surrounded by all three Dudley Boyz but was saved by Stephanie, much to his surprise. When Triple H joined Undertaker and Kane to face Mike Awesome, Lance Storm and Sabu, he was once again attacked by the Dudley Boyz and the match ended in a no contest.
The violence ran throughout the locker room. When Sunny suggested she become The Hardy Boyz new manager, it was the last straw for Trish and Lita who took back the women’s locker rooms, beating up Francine, Beulah and Dawn Marie.
In the main event, the WWF team got the win over ECW, with The Rock getting the decisive pinfall. The Hardyz brawled to the back with Tommy Dreamer and Sandman and despite the win, The Rock was going set abandon Austin to The Dudley Boyz but did come back to help out when they went to attack Debra. Austin looked conflicted but did not thank The Rock.
On Smackdown, Austin opened the show, offering some self reflection. He said it was time to right the wrongs he’d inflicted over the recent months. The Rock came out to accept Austin’s apology, but before he could talk Paul Heyman and ECW crashed the party, to find out who he should be backing, still hoping to hire one of Austin or Rock. However, it was a bait and switch and Austin revealed he had no intention of apologising to The Rock and instead offered a shot to Spike Dudley, saying it was time he paid him back for breaking his leg a few months ago. When The Rock continued to talk trash, Rob Van Dam interrupted, saying he was sick of The Rock and challenged him to a match later in the evening.
Vince was in a vengeful mood with his own guys for indiscretions on Raw. First, Tajiri and William Regal were informed they were to participate in a tag team table match against the Dudley Boyz, with the winner earning a shot a tag title of their choice. Meanwhile, X-Pac, who sparked the roster wide brawl on Raw, was told to get the European Title back from Albert or be fired. Thanks to interference from The A.P.A., X-Pac won the title back for the WWF. This meant that all the titles were back in WWF hands, meaning Vince was keen to celebrate. He even offered to pay for Triple H and Stephanie to attend counselling to fix their marriage, which Stephanie agreed to. To solidify their relationship getting back on track, Triple H and Stephanine got involved in the tables match, meaning Regal and Tajiri are now the number one contenders to a tag belt of their choice.
Despite the victories, Vince was paranoid that Austin wouldn’t be able to beat Spike, sending The Radicalz and Edge and Christian to ringside to keep ECW away but they ended up fighting amongst themselves. When The Dudleyz tried to interfere, still furious about the interference from Stephanie, The Rock once again came to his and Debra’s aid. Austin was furious with Vince, who he accused of sending The Rock out to ringside, doubting his ability to retain against Spike and left the arena. He would later show up in a nearby dive bar, where he would encounter a very drunk Kurt Angle.
With the WWF back in control, Shane was keen to get his belts back, putting Kanyon in action against Tazz, while Booker T and DDP would get the opportunity to face Mike Awesome and Lance Storm. Tazz and Big Show brawled during the match with Kanyon, giving Tazz the DQ victory. Shane was pissed with Vince that it was a WWF wrestler that cost him the chance to win back his title when they were supposed to be focused on ECW. Terry Funk tried to mediate the argument, and suggested that his past with ECW would ensure there would be no funny business in the tag match and he should the special guest referee. During the dying moments of the match, Funk, distracted by Stacy and Dawn Marie fighting at ringside, missed a massive chair shot from Mike Awesome to Booker T, allowing the Awesome Storm to retain. After the match, Shane got in Funk’s face, causing him to snap and destroy Shane, busting him open hardway and smearing his blood all over his face. It was a pretty shocking to see this kind of violence and it only stopped when Vince sent out the cavalry who chased them away.
Vince was furious with the attack, declaring all out war and once again, a huge fight ensued. From the bar, Austin, Debra and Kurt watched on the television. Despite being incoherent, Angle said he wished he’d been more like Austin during the issues with Triple H and Stephanie and managed to get through to him, causing Austin to leave the bar in a hurry. Rob Van Dam demanded that ECW allow The Rock to the ring, wanting his opportunity, while the rest of the rosters brawled. The Rock and Van Dam had a great match, with The Rock selling everything Van Dam threw at him. However, when The Rock did look to have the match won, ECW tried to rush the ring and attack him. That was the signal for Austin to return, the a huge ovation and a face turn. Austin tore through the ECW wrestlers, coming to aid The Rock. However, in the chaos, Van Dam managed to take down The Rock and hit the Five Star Frogsplash and get the unexpected win. The Rock was quick to recover and Austin and Rock cleared the ring. Austin called for the beers and The Rock accepted. The Rock did poise to hit The Rock Bottom but didn’t pull the trigger, leaving the two looking uneasy as the show went off the air.
Heat opened with The McMahon’s sat around Shane’s hospital bedside, with Vince and Linda demanding revenge. In the ring, Edge, Christian, Benoit and Guerrero once again fought in the ring, allowing the team of Justin Credible, Jerry Lynn, Albert and Juvi to get the win in an entertaining match. Later, Stacy got some revenge on Dawn Marie, booking her, Francine and Beulah in a match against Lita, Trish and Ivory in a match they were battered in.
After a week of being rejected by pretty much everyone on the roster, Sunny looked set to give up when even Too Cool told her she didn’t have the moves to keep up with them. However, Kaientai took pity on her, giving her a flag and even allowing her to say their catchphrase ahead of Taka’s match with Spike Dudley.
The A.P.A. told X-Pac it was time to pay his debts, but he beat them at cards (clearly cheating) to buy their protection for a few more weeks, while Big Show defended the WWF Hardcore Title against Kanyon who wanted revenge after he cost him in his match with Tazz on Smackdown. Big Show got the win but the match was chaos with ECW and WCW wrestlers getting involved.

CHAMPIONSHIP RECAP
So there you are. There's a lot going on, I hope you're keeping up. I am, I think... just! It's definitely the right time to turn Austin face but with him and Rock on the same side, they are going to struggle to build up ECW so I am intrigued to see how it progresses. How will ECW respond now they have lost all of the WWF Title belts? Tazz is the only one keeping them in the mix, thanks to Tazz but he definitely had Big Show's attention now. See you on the dark side. MGR
