Winter
January - March 2010
The Hogan/Bischoff regime kicked off on January 4, 2010 with Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff officially retiring the TNA Knockouts Tag Team Championship, stating that it may come back in the future. They also booked a Knockouts gauntlet for a shot at Tara's title at Genesis which was won by ODB.
Meanwhile, Jeff Hardy made his long awaited return to the Impact Zone by interupting an X Division title match between Amazing Red and Kiyoshi thus setting up a three-way dance for the title at Genesis. It is eventually turned into a three-way ladder match.
Sean Waltman and Scott Hall also returned to TNA and made it clear that the hostile takeover is here and that they will be a dominating force in the Impact Zone. Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley took exception to this and made it clear that Waltman and Hall are not going to take spots from the people who have earned them and a match was scheduled between both teams for Genesis.
The feud between Abyss and Dr. Stevie turned increasingly violent as Stevie recruited Raven to fight his battles for him but after Raven was put through a flaming table by Abyss and put out of action, Stevie was left on his own. Abyss would challenge Stevie to a Monsters' Ball match at Genesis and if Stevie loses his medical license is revoked and he must leave TNA. Stevie agrees and Abyss then reverts to his original black attire as opposed to white, terrifying Stevie.
Eric Young would come to the ring several weeks in a row cutting anti-American promos saying that there is absolutely no way that an American could take his Global Championship from him and Consequences Creed accepts his challenge and says that at Genesis, the title comes to America!
Sting is seen lurking in the rafters in the lead-up to Genesis and when he is caught by Jeremy Borash for an interview, he says that history is repeating itself. Upon hearing this, Eric Bischoff books him in a match at Genesis against Bobby Lashley as a punishment.
Beer Money, Inc. won a tag team battle royal to earn a shot at the TNA World Tag Team Championship against the British Invasion at Genesis.
On the January 4 episode of Impact, AJ Styles successfully defended his TNA World Heavyweight title against Kurt Angle with the help of a debuting Ric Flair but Angle would request a rematch and it would be granted!

==========
Jeff Hardy's X Division title win was not met with a lot of enthusiasm backstage and led to the return of Kazarian who made his Impact return by calling Hardy a washed up has-been who got lucky at Genesis but would not get lucky again. He challenged Hardy to a match at Against All Odds which Hardy gladly accepted so he could prove that he's not a fraud.
Robert Roode explained his actions against James Storm by saying that he is tired of being saddled with a drunk loser and that it is time to step out and shine on his own. Storm was upset by these remarks and says that Roode's children call him Uncle James and that he can't believe Roode would throw it all away just like that. The two brawl week after week and Roode costs Storm a match against Shark Boy which leads to Storm challenging Roode to an Unsanctioned Match at Against All Odds which Roode accepts, saying he will beat Storm to a bloody pulp.
Sean Waltman and Scott Hall are on top of the world following their victory at Genesis but are confronted by Sting who says that he is not going to let this happen again because he cares too much about TNA for that to happen. Eric Bischoff is once again livid by Sting's remarks and puts him in a 2-on-1 handicap match at Against All Odds against Waltman and Hall.
On the January 21 episode of Impact, Awesome Kong completed obliterated Tara and won the TNA Knockouts Championship. She would run through the knockouts division until running into Daffney who was seemingly her biggest challenge and a title match was scheduled for Against All Odds.
Kurt Angle is absolutely livid about his loss to AJ Styles at Genesis and calls out Ric Flair. Flair says that it's too bad that Angle will never be a World champion again and Angle challenges Flair to a match at Against All Odds and Flair accepts. Angle laughs and tells Flair to prepare to have his ankle broken and Flair just laughs about it.
Eric Young continues parading around TNA with the Global Championship proclaiming that he will be the champion until the end of time and that nobody can beat him. Jay Lethal takes him up on his challenge and the match is set for Against All Odds.
Scott Steiner becomes embroiled in a feud against the British Invasion but is left without a tag team partner meaning that he cannot challenge for the tag team titles but on the go-home episode of Impact before Against All Odds, he introduces his partner, the returning Petey Williams who now goes by Little Petey Pump and the two will get a title shot at the pay-per-view.
A now heel AJ Styles proclaims that he is a champion of the people and with Ric Flair by his side there is nobody in the entire world that can take his title. He continues this charade for several weeks until Abyss attacks him and beats him until he is bloody. Styles refuses to give him a title shot until he is nearly Chokeslammed from the top of the tron.

Following Against All Odds, AJ Styles and Ric Flair would parade around TNA like they owed the place until Eric Bischoff reminded them that they are not in charge. He proceeded to book AJ Styles to defend his TNA World Heavyweight Championship against Hulk Hogan at Destination X. Styles and Flair were absolutely livid and attacked Hogan in the parking lot but Bischoff insisted that the match was still on.
Meanwhile, Sting would continue to try to recruit people to his cause to try to save TNA while Sean Waltman and Scott Hall continued in their old ways. Sting would bring in Desmond Wolfe as his partner and another match was scheduled between the two teams.
Robert Roode, fresh off a hard fought, bloody victory would cut a promo stating that it is time for him to fulfill his destiny. He told the world that whoever wins at Destination X will have to defend the World title against him at Lockdown, no matter what anyone says. He is blindsided by the returning Stevie Richards, who no longer has a doctor gimmick and the Roode challenges him for Destination X and the match is set.
Tomko goes on a run through much of the lower card getting victories over the likes of Shark Boy, Kiyoshi and Rhino before Samoa Joe would return to stop him in his tracks leading to a match being scheduled between the two behemoths.
The World X Cup was once again run in the leadup to Destination X with several talents from all over the world taking part including Jushin Thunder Liger who would make it all the way to the finals where he would face Daniels for the World X Cup at Destination X.
Kazarian and Jeff Hardy's feud continued as the two bickered back and forth about the finish to their match at Against All Odds and Hardy agreed to put his title on the line against Kazarian one more time at Destination X!
Ken Shamrock's return to TNA shocked many as he confronted Kurt Angle following Against All Odds and accused him of stealing his Ankle Lock. The two would engage in several pull apart brawls before officially being booked in a Submission match at Destination X.
Eric Young called out Jay Lethal after his loss at Against All Odds and called him a paper champion and that there's no way he could win twice. Lethal put his title on the line again that night and came out victorious.
A 6-way Ultimate X match was scheduled to determine a new #1 contender for the X Division Championship featuring Amazing Red, Kiyoshi, Alex Shelley, Chris Sabin, Consequences Creed and the debuting Brian Kendrick.
