Hello! My name is Kinnik, and this is my first thread on bethebooker!
So here's something i cooked up in my free time: what if WCW stayed alive in 2001? Here's my take on this well known scenario:
-Eric Bischoff and Fusient does buy out WCW and keeps it alive, with Nitro being now shown on Fox on Wednesday nights. Nitro will be held live from the Nitro Zone in soundstage 21 of universal studios Orlando. (That was actually Bischoff's idea before jeff jarrett took it with TNA).
-After the big bang, WCW announces that it will follow a lighter 6 PPVs a year schedule.
February: SuperBrawl
April: Spring Stampede
July: Great american bash
September: Fall Brawl
October: Halloween Havoc
December: Starrcade
Bash and the beach, Slamboree and Clash of the champions will become Nitro Special episodes.
All episodes and Specials of Nitro will be held at the Nitro Zone, while the PPVs will take place in other places in the US.
Commentary team is tony schiavone on play-by-play and mike tenay as the analyst.
The roster is as follows
Booker T
Scott Steiner
Goldberg
Dustin Rhodes
Sting
Ric Flair
Jeff Jarrett
Konaan
Buff Bagwell
Shane Douglas
Lance Storm
Rob Van Dam
Steve Corino
DDP

Kid Kash
Lash Leroux
Kid Romeo
Elux Skipper
Rey Mysterio jr.
Billy Kidman.

How the posts are gonna work is that i'll just cover the PPVs and Nitro Specials only, with each matches having the build up and a general overview of the actual match (or a short description and giving out the winner only when i don't feel like it)
With that said, i hope you'll enjoy the ride! Feel free to share your thoughts!
First show is gonna be Starrcade 2001! And it will be uploaded shortly, as i've already done writing the report for both that and SuperBrawl 2002!

WCW STARRCADE 2001
Live from the richmond colisseum, Richmond, Virginia
Commentary team: Tony Schiavone (play-by-play) and "the professor" Mike Tenay (analysis)
Cruiserwieght title no.1 contender: Super Crazy vs Tajiri.
You can't go wrong with those two to open the show. Both guys do their stuff, super crazy dives off the balcony, but Tajiri wins via green mist and buzzsaw kick, which is actually a protected finisher as tajiri is getting a push as a threat in the division.
Match 2: Jerry Lynn vs jamie knoble.
Lynn would be a solid hand in the company, methinks. Here, he's been getting a push, challenging for the cruiserwight title at The clash of the champions Nitro special and reaching the semis of the US title no.1 contender tournament, where he lost to RVD in another classic battle between the two. Meanwhile, Knoble has been rising up the ranks, and a win over the vet would do wonders for his stock.
The match is a technical showcase for both men. Lynn gets the advanatge and even toys with knoble, but knoble gets pissed and outworks lynn, countering a TKO into a guillotine choke for the submission win in front of his home crowd!
Match 3: Cruiserweight tag title international showcase: Air Raid (C) vs Jung Dragons vs FBI (Little Guido and Tony Mamaluke) vs Mexico's Finest (Psicosis and Juventud Guerrera)
Air raid won the titles from skipper and romeo, and has been feuding with the FBI since the no.1 contender tournament final, as guido claims that AJ styles grabbed mamaluke's tights in the match-winning roll-up. The FBI organised hits on air raid, and they would eventually be thwarted by the Jung Dragons at Halloween Havoc when they prevented Johnny Parisi and Dawn Maria from hitting air raid during their title match against the italians. Jmmy Yang says that they agreed to help Air raid in exchange for a title shot. Of course, FBI complained and wanted a rematch, but mexico's finest, who were among the hitmen hired by the italians, wants a piece of them cause they still didn't pay them.
Match: big spot-fest. In the end, it comes down to Air raid vs the dragons, as the mexicans were too busy kicking the FBI's asses. AJ wins via styles clash on jimmy yang.
Match 4: Tag titles: The FBI (palumbo and stamboli) (C) vs natural born thrillers.
After losing the titles to the extremists (lance storm and mike awesome) at the big bang, the thrillers kicked out palumbo and stamboli, who formed the FBI out of revenge with their brothers from new york. Palumbo and Stamboli won the tag titles from storm and awesome, then their match against sean o'haire and mark jindrak turned into a full blown gang war between the FBI and the thrillers, leading to this match.
Match: the match starts right where the previous one left off. Guido and mamaluke were getting their asses kicked by the mexicans backstage when palumbo and stamboli came to their rescue...only for sean o'haire and Mark Jindrak to come out of nowhere and start beating them up! The two teams would brawl all the way to the ring.
Once the actual match started, it becomes two teams of big, sweaty men stiffing and slamming the **** out of each other. Sean o'haire wins it for the thrillers with a widowmaker and seanton bomb on stamboli.
Match 5: TV Titles, last man standing: Steve Corino(C) vs DDP.
Steve corino made his debut at the big bang attacking DDP and Dustin rhodes. He states that he is here to purge Wrestling of all traces of the old generation, just like he did with Dusty Rhodes in ECW. After taking the TV title from fit finlay, he comtinues berating old wrestlers, and he beats the likes of Tito Santana, Bob Backlund and Terry funk. Finally, DDP had enough and wants to put some respect to the arrogant young man. DDP scored the pin on Corino at the war games match between Sting, DDP, Dustin, Booker T and Konaan vs the genetic freaks (the steiner brothers and buff bagwell), Ric Flair and Corino, which sets up this last man standing match.
Match: a brutal, bloody southern brawl like we don't see em anymore! DDP counters the old school bomb with a diamond cutter! Both men beat the 10 count. DDP goes for a nother diamond cutter, but corino tosses him into the ref and then hits him with the brass knuckles before landing an old school bomb for the 10 count and retain the TV title, DDP laying down in a pool of his own blood.
Match 6: Cruiserweight Title match: Chavo Guerrero (C) vs rey mysterio vs Shane helms.
Shane helms has been a fighting champion, but he lost to Chavo. Chavo has been a chicken shit heel champion since then, screwing rey mysterio in their title match at halloween havoc by putting his feet on the ropes with the ref not seeing it. Both rey and helms want revenge, arn anderson books it, here we go.
Match: Both rey and helms team up to go after chavo, but chavo outwits them into hitting each other. Very tom and jerry-esque start to the match befofe it kicks up a gear when rey headscissors helms into a spear on chavo!
The three then wrestle one another until helms hits the vertebreaker on chavo. However, instead of going for the pin, Helms marks out and taunts chavo, saying he got what he ****ing deserved. He then turns around, only to eat a dragonrana from rey for the 1-2-3! Rey mysterio is the new cruiserweight champion!
Post-match: Still in disbelief, helms grow frustrated and shoves rey, to which rey shoves him in retaliation. From out of nowhere, Tajiri comes and green mists and buzzsaw kicks both rey and helms. A huge statement of intent from the new no.1 contender!
Match 7. Goldberg vs Jeff Jarrett. Closed roof cage match.
Jeff jarrett has been blaming goldberg for his slump ever since he got destroyed in 34 seconds by da man. Since then, double J has been tormenting goldberg the whole year. A match was scheduled at fall brawl, but when goldberg made his way to the ring, jarrett never showed up, only to reveal himself at a jacuzzi with girls, berating goldberg and the fans for their stupidity.
Goldberg would finally get his hands on jarrett on nitro in december, laying the smackdown on him and asking arn anderson for a closed roof cage match so that jarrett had nowhere to go. Anderson sweetens the deal by saying that, shpuld jarrett even dare do a similar stunt as at fall brawl, he will be fired on the spot!
Jarrett had not choice but to accept.
Match: double J does everything he can to gain an advantage, but goldberg was simply too much. He no sells a guitar shot to the head, then jackhammers jarrett for the 1-2-3.
Match 8: Sting, Konaan and Billy Kidman vs the Genetic Freaks (Rick Steiner, Buff Bagwell and "Lil Deutsche pump" Alex Wright.)
6-men tag match that serves as a cool down before the last 3 matches of the show. The faces win with Konaan doing the tequila sunrise on Bagwell.
Match 9: US Title: Kanyon (C) vs Rob Van Dam
Ever since signing a multi-year deal with WCW, Rob Van Dam has gone from strength to strength, Beating Lance Storm in the US title no.1 contender tournament quarter-finals, then beating jerry lynn in yet another classic battle int he semis before losing to Kanyon in the finals when kanyon rolled him up as he hit the frog splash. Kanyon would then go on to beat Booker T at the Great American Bash by countering the Book-end into the flatliner to win the US belt.
However, since winning the title, Kanyon has been avoiding RVD, saying that he's a nobody and that nobody's better than Kanyon. RVD then responded in a promo, stating that, if nobody's better than kanyon, then why is he avoiding him? Because he is afraid of him. He states that kanyon knows that his win was a fluke, and that he knows that RVD will beat him because he's better than Kanyon, and he knows it.
Hurt by RVD spitting Facts, Kanyon started interfering in RVD's matches, beating him up and saying that he isn't afraid of him, that he shouldn't judge somebody based on assumptions.
This led to a contract signing for the US Title match at Starrcade. RVD asks "if you're not afraid of me, then what are you afraid of?". To which Kanyon answered that he doesn't know what its like being Kanyon, and that him holding gold is far more important to him than everyone thinks it is...and that, after he beats him at Starrcade, he'll go after the world title and forge his legacy...
Match: a show-stealing, back and forth match between two young men in their prime. RVD overwhelms kanyon with his athleticism, but kanyon gains the advantage after lifting his knees up as RVD landed the rolling thunder, working on RVD's back with his innovative moves. RVD then counters an F5 attempt into a tornado DDT AND mounts a comeback, deliberately targetting the taller man's legs. The finish comes after Kanyon delivers A wicked top rope german suplex after clubbing van dam in the back as he set up his split-legged moonsault. Kanyon waits for RVD to get back up, then does the flatliner...but wait, its kanyon who rolls around grabbing his hurt neck! RVD countered the Flatliner into an STO!
This is van dam's opportunity! Split-legged moonsault on the back of Kanyon's legs, then five star frog splash onto the big man's legs for the 1-2-3! RVD is your new US champion!
Post-match: RVD is celebrating his first piece of silverware in a major company, and went towards kanyon for a handshake...only to be taken aback by kanyon...crying? Kanyon then shoves him off and left the ring, limping to the back while covering his tears-filled eyes, much to RVD and the crowd's confusion...
Match 10: Dustin Rhodes vs Ric flair.
Dustin and flair has been feuding since the start of the year, with Flair wanting to end the rhodes and Sting once and for all after so many years of fighting. Dustin wants to prove he is worthy of filling his daddy's shoes, and what better way than to pin ric flair?
Match: a roller coaster of emotions only ric flair is capable of. After powering out of the Figure four, Dustin hits the curtain call to beat ric flair!
Sting came down to celebrate with Dustin...but then, steve corino comes out to seemingly congratulate dustin, even shaking his hand...but then lays him out with a clothesline, then avoids a swing from sting's baseball bat and delivers the corino driver! Corino then helps ric flair get up, and the two would beat down sting and dustin to inches of their lives. Satisifed, ric starts wooing in celebration, while corino stood there smiling evily. He then looks at flair and flashes the four horsemen sign, which flair responds with one of his own!
Ric and corino leaves the ring, while sting and dustin are taken off on stretchers...
Main event: WCW world heavyweight title: Scott Steiner (C) vs Booker T.
The build up is the classic "heel champion being chased by top babyface" angle. Steiner got wins over DDP, Sting, Konaan and Dustin Rhodes (most of them being via interference from his genetic freaks) and scored the most impressive win of his reign by beating goldberg with the steiner screwdriver, the most dangerous move in wrestling (jeff jarret definitely helped, too...). Booker T has been chasing his 5th title reign for months on end. After, after so mamy close call, arn anderson books the world title match for starrcade!
Match: big fight atmosphere. The finish is a suplex exchange occurs, with steiner doing a big time amateur style suplex...only for booker to get up and deliver the book-end! He goes for the harlem hangover, but he misses, landing on his back! Steiner capitalises and does the steiner recliner! However, after two minutes, booker T powers up and slams Steiner into the corner behind them! He waits for him to get up, then attempts the scissors kick...but steiner avoids it! He knees booker in the gut and sets up the steiner screwdriver...but Booker knees big poppa pump's face! A stunned steiner covers his face and leans forward.
This is booker's chance!
SCISSORS KICK!
Booker then gets up the top turnbuckle...
HARLEM HANGOVER!
1!
2!
3!!!!
He did it! Booker T is now a 5-time, 5-time, 5-time world champion!
Big pyros and celebrations for Booker to end the show.
So yeah, here it is. Whaddya think?
Next up will be superbrawl 2002.

WCW SUPERBRAWL 2002
February 10th, 2002.
Live from the Stegeman Coliseum, Athens, Georgia
Commentary team: Tony Schiavone on play-by-play and Mike Tenay as the analyst.
Match 1: "The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels and Low-Ki vs Elix Skipper and Kid Romeo.
Build-up: Christopher Daniels Daniels returned to the company, debuting his "fallen angel" character in vignettes where he preached his gospel and saying that the prophecy will soon be realised. He then made his debut on Nitro with wins over Kid Kash and Lash Leroux, followed by a match with Kid Romeo, whom he taunted by berating him for his sinful past as a male stripper in the pre-match interview. However, Romeo was about to score the huge upset win on Daniels with the last kiss when a mysterious bald man attacked him, giving the win to daniels via angel's wings before the bald man viciously beat down Romeo with stiff as **** karate kicks and a wicked double foot stomp from the turnbuckle before primetime elix skipper came down for the save.
The following nitro, Daniels introduces the bald man as his follower, the world warrior low-ki, and that that, together, they will realise the prophecy. Skipper and romeo then comes out, skipper wanting to kick their asses after what they did to his pal romeo and telling daniels to shut up about his new age mumbo jumbo. A series of singles matches followed, with low-ki beating Romeo, but Elix Skipper getting his revenge by giving daniels his first loss. On the Go-home Nitro, Low-Ki and skipper fought in a show-stealing match in which low-ki won with his devil foot Stomp. Arn anderson then makes the tag match official.
Match: fun, heated action to start the show. Daniels and ki wins by pinning romeo after a devil foot stomp. Skipper is pissed at romeo being useless. Romeo is relegated to jobber status cause he's useless.
Match 2: Jamie Knoble vs Chavo guerrero
Build-up: Jamie Knoble has won against Jerry Lynn, and he also won against another former cruiserweight title contender in super crazy. Now, he is targetting Chavo Guerrero, a former champion.
Chavo, however, doesn't want to deal with a "redneck" like him because he wants his title back and seek revenge on rey and helms. however, Arn Anderson refuses Chavo's request for a rematch with Rey or Helms because of his unnacceptable antics and attitude when he was cruiserweight champ. Upon hearing chavo reply under his breath "says the former horseman", Arnie says that indeed, he and flair talked a lot of shit, but when push came to shove, they actually won titles by the truckload and defended them like a real champion does. Asking how many belts did chavo won in his career, Chavo begrudgingly shut up and asked arn what to do to get another chance at rey or helms.
Arn ponders for a moment, then tells him that there is an up and coming wrestler in the cruiserweight division who just came off a big win and his stock has been rising lately. His name? Jamie Knoble.
Chavo laughs it off as a joke, telling him as if he's gonna face that redneck nobody who won against some old rando who wrestled in front of freaks in bingo halls...not knowing that knoble was right behind him, visibly not happy with the insults! Knoble then puts over Jerry Lynn as his toughest challenge yet and that he and lynn would run circles around an inferior guerrero!
Chavo got pissed at that last remark, and starts shoving knoble, but before it turned violent, Arnnie broke up the two and made them sign a contract for a match at superbrawl on condition that they don't touch each other in any way...chavo took it to the letter, only appearing at knoble's nitro matches to distract and troll him without touching him, trying to force knoble to hit him so that the contract is void and the match doesn't take place. During a match against AJ Styles, a frustrated Knoble came out to the ring to prevent chavo from using a chair on AJ, which prompted Chavo to throw the chair at Knoble and pretend that he hit him on behalf of AJ, winning the match by DQ and later using that as leverage to have arn call off the match...
However, Arnnie says that he is pissed that Chavo thinks he's that stupid! He doesn't budge, the match agaisnt knoble will happen at Superbrawl!
Match: technical showcase with some chickenshit heel antics from chavo to get knoble off his game. However, Knoble catches Chavo with a stiff elbow on chavo's jaw in mid-air as the latter went for a top rope double axe handle. That's where knoble starts unloading on Chavo with DDTs and submission holds targetting his head and neck area. Chavito, however, starts applying vaseline around his neck everytime he knocks down Knoble for a certain period of time, fearing the guillotine choke. After some offense, chavo goes for the brainbuster...but Knoble counters with a guillotine choke!
However, Chavo pops his head free like it was nothing, and stiffs Knoble with elbows before applying the brainbuster for a close 2 count! Chavo tells the ref that its sweat around his neck and in his palms, not vaseline. However, before the ref could check, Knoble delivers a dragon suplex on chavo for a close 2 count! Chavo would mess with Knoble's mind by popping out of any headlock and head-between-legs situations thanks to the vaseline, frustrating the inexperienced Knoble enough to force him to swing for the fences with a clothesline, which Chavo ducks easily before delivering the Gory Bomb onto Knoble for the 1-2-3!
Chavito then quickly leaves the ring before the ref could check on his neck, while Jamie cursed in frustration from Chavo's antics. Looks like Chavo's made himself yet another enemy...
Match 3: America's Most Wanted vs Donovan Morgan and Michael Modest
Build up: WCW hypes up their newest power plant graduate: The team of Chris Harris and James Storm, America's most wanted! Tonight, this is their first PPV match ever, after winning their first two matches on Nitro against jobbers. Their opponents are Michael Modest and Donovan Morgan, known as Excellence Inc.
Match: Standard tag team fair meant as a showcase for both teams. AMW wins.
Match 4: Cruiserweight Tag Title match: Air Raid (C) vs Jung Dragons
Build-up: After the starrcade multi-team title match, The Jung Dragons couldn't stop annoying Air Raid for a title shot. AJ styles tell them that they already fulfilled thier end of the bargain and they got their shot at the multi-team match at starrcade, but Jimmy Yang says that it didn't count. They want a proper tag team match, 4 guys, mano-a-mano, just the two of them...or four of them, rather.
AJ and paris wanted none of it, and just shrugged them off...this pissed off yang and kaz hayashi, and the dragons would then keep harrassing air raid with taunting signs at ringside during their matches until AJ finally had enough and asked Arn Anderson to book that damn title match for superbrawl so that they can shut them up for good.
Match: a back-and-forth affair with lots of high-flying moves. The dragons came out of here looking good, getting a chance to showcase their double team offense on AJ and Paris. Eventually, however, AJ would double pele kicks the dragons, who were too busy arguing who should get the pin on a downed air paris after they did their finisher, the dragon's roar, on him. This would start Air Raid's comeback, with the finish being AJ countering jimmy yang's 450 splash attempt with a styles clash (the ibushi match's finish)
Match 5: FBI vs Thrillers (Stasiak, rogers) and mexico's finest
Build-up: the FBI-Thrillers war rages on, while Mexico's finest are still pursuing guido and mamaluke for their missed payment.!
Match: cool down multi-man tag match. Guido wins it for the italians via sicillian slice on juventud guerrera. Afterwards, Guido shoves a $100 dollar bill into juvi's mouth.
Match 6: Natural Born Thrillers (C) vs the Extremists.
Build-up: lance storm and Mike Awesome, after failing to make the finals of the US title no.1 contender tournament, switches their focus into getting back the tag titles that they lost. Storm starts berating o'haire and jindrak, calling them big lumps of suck with no wrestling skills whatsoever...which also pissed off his partner awesome, feeling he was also talking about him. Storm made it clear it was the thrillers he was talking about, not him. Meanwhile, the thrillers are looking to shut up the annoying canadian and keep going as the best tag team in WCW.
Match: Some pretty good tag team action between two exciting teams. In the ed, it would be the thrillers who retains, with Sean O'haire delivering a top rope widowmaker on the massive mike awesome for the pin.
Match 7: WCW Cruiserweight title: Rey Mysterio Jr (C) vs Shane Helms vs Tajiri
Build-up: helms really didn't like that Rey hit him with the dragonrana to win the title at starrcade, feeling that it was betrayal since they had a common enemy in Chavo, saying that rey is just as much of a chicken shit as him. Rey, of course, took offense and said that it was every man for himself in that match, that maybe he should've went for the pin after the vertebreaker instead of hotdogging and grandstanding like a pendejo. Tajiri, meanwhile, has been targetting Rey since buzzsaw kicking him, tormenting him during his matches with his sadistic submission holds and attemtping the buzzsaw kick, but helms came down just in time before he could do it. Tajiri would later torment helms with the same thing until rey comes in for the save before tajiri could buzzsaw kick helms.
Match: high-level crusierweight action from the three. Highlights include tajiri doing the tarantula hold on rey, only for helms to clothesline rey over the tope rope, bringing tajiri down on the floor with him. Helms doing the over the castle neckbreaker on tajiri and hitting rey with a crack shoot kick to the cranium at the same time and rey doing his bulldog thingie on helms, but tajiri catches him with a powerbomb at the same time.
The story of the match is that Helms is too focused on beating up Rey that he neglects Tajir's presence, which would eventually play out in the finish. Rey does the 619 on Helms, and goes for the follow-up Rana, but Helms catches him mid-air and slams him with a powerbomb! He signals for the vertebreaker, and sets up rey into it...
However, just as Helms lifts up rey, he gets his face sprayed in green mist by Tajiri! Rey lands on his feet while Helms falls on his knees crying in pain from the green mist in his eyes. Rey runs at the ropes behind him, jumps off helms's back to attempt a rana...but Tajiri catches him and powerbombs Rey onto Helms's back! Tajiri then signals for the buzzsaw kick...
And-a-one for helms, knocking him out!
Now the japanese wrestler waits for rey to get on his knees...
Buzzsaw kick!
No wait, Rey ducks under!
GREEN MIST FROM REY!!
Rey just spit green mist of his own onto Tajiri's face! Rey actually scouted the japanese buzzsaw before the match!
As Tajiri flails around and lays down in pain covering his eyes, Rey climbs up the top turnbuckle and lands a 450 splash on the knocked out Helms for the 1-2-3! Rey Mysterio retains the Cruiserweight belt!
Despite technically losing for the first time in WCW, Tajiri still remains unpinned and unsubmitted since debuting in the company, and the angry martial arts master wiped away the mist in his eyes and shining wizards Rey outta nowhere when rey was celebrating on his knees. He then Buzzsaw Kicks his head in for good measure befofe leaving the ring. Its not over between those two!
Match 8: Konaan and Billy Kidman vs the genetic freaks (Buff Bagwell and "Lil Deutsche Pump" Alex Wright)
Cool down match before the last 3 matches of the show. Tnis time, the heels win with Alex Wright pinning Kidman via German Suplex.
Match 9: Steve Corino and Ric Flair vs Dustin Rhodes and Sting
Build up: this directly follows the post match segment of Dustin-Flair at Starrcade 2001. Steve Corino explains that, while he wants to purge pro wrestling of any trace of the old generation, there is only one old man that he respects above all else, and that's the nature boy Ric Flair. Flair then says that, with Corino, he not only found the oerfext partner to end his arch nemesis Sting and the rhodes once and for all, but also quite possibly his eventual successor. Sting and Dustin, obviously, wants revenge, with Sting saying that he finds Corino to be a disgusting piece of trash for what he did to his friend DDP, and dustin saying he can't wait to make Corino pay for what he did to his daddy in ECW.
Match: a very heated and physical affair between two pairs who don't like each other not one bit! The two teams take turns mauling each other until Corino and Flair manhandles sting, but then Sting mounts a comeback and delivers the ricky morton tag to Dustin, who then cleans house and gets the win for him and sting via a curtain call on Flair.
After the match, however, Corino attacked dustin while the latter was celebrating. He would beat him up for a few seconds until sting grabs him and Gorilla press throws corino over the top rope and into ric flair! Now Dustin has his sight on a world championship match against whoever wins the main event!
Match 10: WCW United States Championship: RVD (C) vs Jerry Lynn
Build up: after Rob Van Dam's victory over Kanyon at Starrcade 2001, The latter wasn't seen in the following weeks. Meanwhile, RVD is happy to have won his first title of hopefully many in a major company, and he fully believes that he will end up as world champion here in WCW. Meanwhile, after the shock loss to Jamie Knoble at Starrcade 2001, Jerry Lynn came back with more fire and focus than ever, climbing up to heavyweight and defeating the likes of Shane Douglas and Lance Storm before gaining a big win by sending Jeff Jarrett out of WCW in the latter's last match for the company. Finally, Kanyon came back, but he looked more morose than usual. He would fight Jerry Lynn on Nitro for the right to challenge Van Dam for the US title at superbrawl. Kanyon feigns confidence, saying that he will make short work of this nobody and regain the US belt, while Lynn would state that he may be smaller and less known than kanyon, but he's a tough son of a bitch, and RVD knows it firsthand!
In a really good bout, Kanyon was the more dominant wrestler, countering every move that lynn threw at him with jis innovative offense, but he just couldn't finish him off, as if he lost his killer instinct upon losing to RVD...this would cost him big time, as Jerry Lynn would mount a comeback, finally hitting the Dreaded Cradle Piledriver on Kanyon (which they teased the entire match) for the 1-2-3! Jerry Lynn will face RVD for the US belt at superbrawl
Distraught by that loss, Kanyon leaves the ring deep in thought. On the go-home show, Kanyon announces that he is taking an indefinite hiatus from in-ring competition, stating that he needs a break from it all...
Meanwhile, on the same show, RVD won a tune-up match against young brian kendrick. Afterwards, Jerry Lynn comes out for a staredown with the champ. RVD asks jokingly "we are destined to do this forever, huh?"
Jerry Lynn responds: "we never did it on such a big stage. That's what's different now." In complete seriousness. "I've busted my ass for this company before, under a mask, and all it led to was being released like somebody throwing trash down the road...that road led me to ECW, the one company that put their faith in me from day one, gave me all the chances, and by god, i took it! And look where i am now: in a major promotion, fighting for the second most prestigious belt in wrestling today! Nothing is gonna stop me now, Rob!"
RVD then says that its true, jerry's come a long way. Only a brick wall can stop him...its name is Rob Van Dam! (Does the RVD gesture)
Jerry finishes by saying that, everytime he lost to RVD, he came back stronger. And now, he feels he is stronger than he's ever been. At superbrawl, he will defeat Van Dam and become the new US champion.
Match: finally, those two great athletes, who have been carrying ECW during its last years of existence, finally face to face at a major company for a prestigious title! Obviously, they will be given time to do their stuff. Judging by how good those two are against one another, i'm pretty certain that it would've been match of the night!
In the end, Jerry Lynn gave RVD the toughest fight of his life, delivering A cradle piledriver on the apron and giving mainstream wrestling fans a taste of the famous RVD piledriver selling. However, in the end, despite doing every move in his arsenal, RVD counters a TKO attempt with a scorpion death drop. then, he gets up on the top turnbuckle, five star frog splash, 1-2-3!
RVD retains the belt, but he looks like he's been through hell, having trouble breathing and everything. After a few minutes of celebration, RVD then offers his hand to a tired Jerry Lynn. Lynn shakes it, and the two embraces to the applauds of the fans in attendance. As RVD puts over Jerry Lynn, the camera pans to the balcony above.
Its kanyon! Kanyon looks on as RVD and Lynn celebrated. He then leaves, without saying a word, heading into hiatus....
Main Event: WCW World Heavyweight Championship: Booker T (C) w/ Goldberg vs "Big Poppa Pump" Scott Steiner w/ Rick Steiner
Build-up: Scott Steiner activates the rematch clause in the world heavyweight title match contract to get his hands on booker T again, suggesting that he should keep his brother rick at ringside for the rematch. Wary of any shenanigans, however, Booker suggests that he brings a cornerman for himself so as to equalise the forces. The mystery around who will be booker's cornerman intensifies until the go home show, where it was revealed that Booker's cornerman is none other than Goldberg!
Match: a match just as intense as the previous one, with the added suspense of the two cornermen...just who will strike first?
The finish is that Steiner sets up booker for a steiner screwdriver, but booker doesn't budge, and he does q top rope book end on steiner! Hebgoes to the top rope, only for rick to come into the ring to bring him down...but goldberg spears rick! This gives booker time to do the harlem hangover and retain the title!
The show ends with booker celebrating his win with Goldberg. The latter then looks at Booker and tells him "You're next!", as if saying "i held my end of the bargain, now you hold yours!". He then does the belt motion around his waist before leaving.
That's it everyone! See ya at Spring Stampede 2002!
Whaddya think?
(Daniels and Low-Ki are on non-exclusive contracts, which means they will appear at ROH's first show later that month...a show that also includes WCW Wrestler Super Crazy taking on somebody who might appear in WCW soon...)
So yeah, That was SuperBrawl 2002! See ya at the first Nitro Special of 2002: Slamboree: A legends reunion!
Let me know what did you think!

WCW Nitro Presents: Slamboree: a legends reunion!
Live from the Nitro Zone, Universal Studios, Orlando, Florida
Opening match: "The World Warrior" Low-Ki w/ Christopher Daniels vs "primetime" Elix Skipper w/Kid Romeo
Match: an athletic opener where both men didn't pull their kicks! Low-ki would win said battle of kicks, but skipper would use more sneaky tactics to gain the advantage over the world warrior. In the end, after q ref bump, skipper caught ki into the sudden death, but as he was setting it up, daniels went to strike him with dust, but kid romeo oerforned a heroic sacrifice, eating the dust in the face instead to a stunned daniels. Skipper then kicks daniels in the jaw while dropping down for the sudden death, getting the 1-2-3!
Post-match: Skipper and Daniels brawl to the back, setting up a match between them at Spring Stampede.
Match 2: US Title no.1 contender mini tournament match: Lance Storm vs Shane Douglas
Build-up: Arn Anderson organises this mini-tournament to determine who will face RVD at Spring Stampede. After failing in the tag division, Storm and mike Awesome decided to try their luck at singles competition. Jerry Lynn, who qlmost beat RVD, wants another shot at beating his arch rival, while Shame Douglas is as grumpy as ever, seeing people remember ECW for RVD instead of the guy who put the revolution on the map: himself!
Match: a mat-based affair where both showcased what they could do. Storm wrestled cleanly and crisply, while shane was more sneaky and aggressive in his approach, bending the rules as much as it was allowed. However, Storm seems to always one up douglas, which got on his nerves. Douglas catches a superkick attempt, ducks under the enziguri and applies the STF! Storm forces the rope break, but douglas doesn't let him go, now he's in the driver's seat. Storm attempts a comeback with a german suplex, but Douglas counters a superkick with a stiff elbow, which stuns storm enough for douglas to hit the pittsburgh Plunge for the 1-2-3 and advance to the final!
Douglas then tells the camera that he was the franchise of ECW, and that RVD's head will roll before spitting on storm's body qnd leave the ring.
Match 3: US Title no.1 contender mini-tournament: Mike Awesome vs Jerry Lynn.
Match: standard big man vs little man wrestling to start up, with the smaller lynn looking to overwhelm the much larger awesome with his speed. After a clothesline that sends lynn to the outside, though, Awesome kicks it up a gear by performing an awe-inspiring plancha onto lynn. This caught lynn off-guard, and awesome would take the opportunity to take control of the match and hit the awesome bomb for the 1-2-3 and fave douglas im the final!
Match 4: america's most wanted vs the genetic freaks (buff bagwell and "Lil' Deutsche Pump" Alex Wright)
Match: tag team action to cool off the crowd a bit. AMW looked set for a huge win, but Bagwell hits Chris Harris with a low blow, which qllowed alex wright to land a german suplex for the 1-2-3. Afterwards, Bagwell announces that he qnd wright want the tag straps.
Match 5: WCW Cruiserweight tag titles: Air Raid (C) vs 2-count (Evan Karagias and Shannon Moore)
Build-up: air raid hasn't defended their titles since superbrawl, as AJ was busy climbing up the Cruiserweight ranks in the meantime, only to lose a no.1 contender matchup against that italian snake little guido. Arn anderson then told them that it was time for their mandatory title defense, as the titles would've been vacated had they missed the deadline. Their mandatory opponents are the now rebaptised 2-count, who are looking to soldier on without shane helms.
Match: spotfest to wake the crowd up after the freaks-AMW match. In the end, AJ gets the win with a spiral tap onto karagias.
Match 6: Mexico's Finest vs Jung Dragons. Winners get a shot at cruiserwieght tag belts at spring stampede.
Build up: Jimmy Yang stepped into arn anderson's offcie and demanded a rematch for the dragons agaisnt air raid for the titles. Mexico's finest, meanwhile, has been racking up wins to clomb up the ranks, and they feel they should be the next challengers for the titles. Arnie books this match as a compromise.
Match: Lucha libre-fest with both teams shining with high flying combinations and lots of close near-falls, while air raid were watching the match from the announce table. In the end, Mexico's finest deliver a juvi driver/top rope leg drop combo on kaz hqyashi for the 1-2-3 and becomes air raid's next challengers. Staredown between air raid and mexico's finest follows.
Match 7: WCW tag titles: natural born thrillers (C) vs Kronik
Match: big hoss fight. O'haire wins it via widowmaker on clark.
Post-match: palumbo and stamboli of the FBI attacks the thrillers during their celebrations.
Match 8: Cruiserweight title: Rey Mysterio jr. (C) vs Little Guido.
Build up: A tournament was set up to fidn a challenger for rey mysterio Jr. At the slamboree special before his scheduled title defense against Tajiri at Spring Stampede. Little guido was one of the participants, where he would defeat New Japan's Minoru Tanaka in the quarters qnd Super Crazy in the semis before beating AJ Styles in the finals. Guido says that, after he's done with the gringo, he's gonna finally beat air raid with tony for the cruiserweight tag titles before finally resolving the problem with those knuckleheads known as the thrillers.
Match: two clear strategies here: Guido deliberstely targets rey's legs to slow him down, while the san diego native is seeking to outsmart the italian shooter. The two wrestler would go back and forth when, after a ref bump, Johnny Parisi and Tony Mamaluke went on to attack rey. However, the natural born thrillers Shawn stasiak and Mike Rogers comes to the rescue qnd beat down on guido's friends, leaving him wide open to a mysterio comeback, complete with the 619 qnd west coast pop for the 1-2-3!
After the match, guido, palbo and stamboli comes down to rescue their brothers...only for o'haire qnd jindrak to appear! The two factions would brawl all the way to the back. This would set up a multi-man match between the thrillers and the FBI at spring Stampede.
Match 9: Shane Helms and Jamie Knoble vs Chavo Guerrero and Tajiri.
Build up: helms and knoble, teo victims of guerrero's shithousery, team up to take him down, while chavito employs the help of the unbeaten tajiri as his partner.
Match: very technical tag team match, where both teams would trade kicks and holds between one another. In the end, Tajiri wins it with a green mist and buzzsaw kick on jamie knoble after Chavo counters the vertebreaker from helms into a gory bomb on the outside.
Afterwards, Tajiri speaks to the camera, only saying the words "mysterio!" And making the throat cutting gesture while Chavo taunts helms and knoble.
Match 10: Sting, Dustin and dusty rhodes vs ric flair, steve corino and barry windham.
Build up: Dusty Rhodes makes a surprise return on nitro, sick and tired of hearing corino running his mouth and giving troubke to his son. To equalise the forces, Flair calls the aid of a former horseman, Barry Windham!
Match: Dustin wins via curtain call on barry windham. Dustin then declares that he wants to challenge Booker T for the world title at spring Stampede.
Match 11: US title no.1 contender final: Mike Awesome vs Shane Douglas.
Match: Mike Awesome wins. Douglas is salty and complains that the ref counted too fast. He will get his hands on RVD and the US belt, he swears it.
Match 12: US title: RVD (C) vs Konaan
Match: RVD wins. Mike Awesome comes out afterwards and awesome bombs him.
Match 13: Booker T and Goldberg vs Steiner Brothers.
Match: the faces wins when Goldberg does the jackhammer on rick. Afterwards, Booker Accepts Dustin's challenge, much to the displeasure of Goldberg.
Thank you!
Next up will be Spring Stampede 2002!
