I'm still behind on the recent season, but I watched episode four yesterday. To be honest I liked the old school Ninja Warrior better, where they had a boot camp and also got to compete on the Japanese course.

It feels so weird that even the 1st qualifiers are so hard, so that barely any competitors can complete the qualifying course. I prefer the old concept with a easier 1st course made for speed, then they can upgrade the difficulty level later in the competition.
