Hey there, I am Tomás Cunha. I am Portuguese and I have previously written for websites such as WhatCulture and WrestleTalk, and currently work with TheSportster as well as my own website, SmarKDown. I found this forum just recently and decided to join. It's my pleasure being here! With my short introduction out of the way, it's time for my first fantasy booking challenge here: The Nexus. Enjoy! Note: I'm keeping everything from the debut up until the SummerSlam match. I'm also keeping Daniel Bryan in the group, just have someone tell him not to choke poor Justin Roberts beforehand! Plus, Wade Barrett doesn't get an automatic WWE World title shot for winning a game show because that's lame as f-ck.Chapter 1: Getting SummerSlam RightAs mentioned above, we're kicking off this booking at SummerSlam, where The Nexus are scheduled to make their in-ring debuts in WWE against 'Team WWE', captained by John Cena. Just to clarify, this match is now 8 vs 8, with Bryan not representing 'Team WWE' like he did in real life. He gets replaced by The Miz in that team, with Great Khali thrown in there too as the 8th dude because... sure! With The Nexus being a unit and an actual group, and with 'Team WWE' being just a number of names thrown together, there is no questioning who wins this match. However, it's not just the result that needs to be changed. How we get there is even more important. In their first match, The Nexus wins with a clean sweep over Cena's team. And, in a very important detail, Wade Barrett makes all the pinfalls in the match, as all the members show their loyalty to the group's leader. So, with every opponent eliminated, it comes down to John Cena alone in his team, in a 8-on-1 situation against all of The Nexus. Cena's f-cked and he knows it, but he gives it a go anyway. Because never give up and stuff like that! Ultimately, it obviously doesn't take too long until Cena gets caught in the corner of the Nexus, and he gets absolutely destroyed like never before. The Nexus beats him up for a while, then each member takes turns hitting Cena with their respective finisher. Finally, Barrett gets tagged in, and casually finishes Cena with the Wasteland for the 1-2-3. The Nexus have dominated their first wrestling match, but that's not what they're here to do. They're not like everyone else, who's "just here to win". They're here to make a difference and send a clear message: they are the real deal. Much like in their debut, The Nexus once again destroy the ring and everything around ringside. Skip Sheffield (the future Ryback) brings the steel steps onto the broken ring, and Barrett gives Cena a Wasteland onto the exposed ring. Then, as Nexus stand together with John Cena destroyed below them with only the sound of the stunned crowd, no commentary to be heard (not hearing Michael Cole is always a positive, huh!?), Barrett points "1" to the camera, and the SummerSlam broadcast fades to black! John Cena is written off TV for the rest of the year to sell the angle. I think it's safe to say that The Nexus altered the course of WWE at the end of SummerSlam, and they'll certainly make an even bigger impact in the immediate future. However, they're nowhere to be seen on the next editions of Monday Night Raw, and the Anonymous RAW GM books the six-pack challenge for Sheamus' WWE Championship at the upcoming Night of Champions event. There, someone replaces Barrett, who won't be participating in it in this story. John Morrison, why not? Meanwhile, Sheamus keeps saying in his promos that as WWE Champion, he is the true force to be reckoned with in WWE, and not The Nexus. On the final episode of Raw in August, Chris Jericho claims how much of a genius he is. He was the one behind all of this. In fact, he says, "I don't know if you remember or not, but I actually created The Nexus. I was Wade Barrett's mentor in the first season of NXT. I'm always thinking ahead of everyone else in the WWE, and unlike everyone else, I can see the bigger picture. I finally got rid of John Cena at SummerSlam, and at Night of Champions, I will carefully pick my spot as I always do, and at the end of the night I will be the WWE Champion... AGAIIN"!
At Night of Champions, the six-pack challenge comes down to champion Sheamus, Orton and Jericho, who has smartly avoided the action as much as possible. Finally, for the first time since SummerSlam, the 8 members of The Nexus appear and destroy Sheamus, who's been addressing The Nexus in his promos for the past month. This causes Sheamus' elimination, leaving the match and the title down to Jericho v. Orton. The latter goes for the RKO, but Jericho shoves him away onto Michael Tarver, while The Nexus are still beating up the eliminated Sheamus. The small distraction and a clothesline from Tarver are enough to leave Orton open to a Codebreaker, and Chris Jericho leaves the six-pack challenge as WWE Champion!
Orton gets some revenge in the form of an RKO on one of the members, maybe Otunga, before getting the hell out of town before getting murdered by the dangerous group. Poor Sheamus gets a similar beatdown as John Cena at SummerSlam, although not as violent, but enough to write him off TV for at least a handful of weeks. Chris Jericho smirks on top of the ramp and raises the WWE Championship before getting the heck out of the arena as well. Barrett looks at the camera while the rest of Nexus look down on the destroyed Sheamus. Barrett signals with his fingers: "2". Two PPV appearances, two major names out. Night of Champions 2010 goes off the air! What is next for The Nexus?

Chapter 2: You're Either Nexus... Or You're Outta Here!
RAW: September 20, 2010
On RAW the night following Night of Champions 2010, the new WWE Champion Chris Jericho opens the show. He comes out with the spinner belt on his shoulder, and a huge smirk in his kisser. He reminds everyone how his plan worked to perfection, and he can't wait to show his superiority against his yet-to-be-announced opponent at Hell in a Cell in 2 weeks. The anonymous RAW GM announces Jericho would defend the gold in the main event inside the Cell against the previous champion, Sheamus. However, since Sheamus is out injured and he can't compete for a month or two, his WWE Championship rematch is cancelled. Jericho again smirks and points to his brain, whilst raising the WWE Championship high! Instead - continues the GM -, a battle royal will be held later tonight to determine Jericho's challenger at Hell in a Cell. And guess what... All seven Nexus members (Skip Sheffield was already out due to serious injury at this point) are officially in it! Jericho can't believe it, and the crowd doesn't know how to react. Right before the battle royal, The Nexus are seen discussing strategy in their locker room. Wade Barrett simply reminds them: "The strategy is simple, boys. It worked at SummerSlam, there's no reason for it not to work tonight". Chris Jericho is on top of the ramp to watch this match. The battle royal naturally starts with all the RAW wrestlers jumping The Nexus right off the bat, who have taken out star after star ever since their first match. However, Michael Tarver sends a number of undercarders flying in shorter order. Was that a flying Yoshi Tatsu? Wham, there goes an Uso. And another on the other side. The Nexus team up to put out Mark Henry together. They work as one and dominate the entire battle royal, not once turning on each other, whilst the same doesn't happen with the other wrestlers, like with Edge and Randy Orton who both get into a fight and that causes them to get eliminated by The Nexus' members. Ultimately, the battle royal to determine the number one contender for the WWE Championship comes down to, you guessed it... The Nexus. As soon as they get rid of the last enemy standing, The Nexus all stand in the ring and stare at Chris Jericho, who can sense that he's next on their hit list. As soon as they get his attention, all six members climb over the top rope and drop down at the same time, thus making it official: their leader, Wade Barrett, is the number one contender for the WWE Championship! RAW: September 27, 2010
PPV go-home edition It's the go-home RAW for Hell in a Cell, which means we have the cell present tonight as a visual preview of what's to come at the upcoming Sunday spectacular. Before the show, the anonymous RAW GM announces that if The Nexus attack Jericho and ruin the PPV main event, then the match will be off. The show opens with The Nexus, who come out to address their dominance ever since coming to WWE. There is no one on the active roster who can stop them because, as we could see last week as well as at SummerSlam, they work as one and they're unstoppable together. Break the walls down! Cue Chris Jericho. The WWE Champion comes out to confront The Nexus, even getting inside the ring due to the GM's announcement at the start of the show. Jericho looks Barrett in the eye, and tells him he's right about everything he just said. Together, Nexus are indeed unstoppable. There is no duo, trio, stable or group in their prime that could stop this Nexus. Jericho, once again, puts himself over, saying that The Nexus are as good as they are because of their awesome leader. An awesome leader who just happened to be trained by one Chris Jericho in season 1 of NXT. But the advantage stops there, says Jericho. Barrett is as good as he is, and the Nexus are as dominant as they are because Jericho thought Barrett everything he knows back in NXT. However, he didn't teach him everything Jericho knows. You don't become a seven-time World Champion by just being good, says Jericho. "This will make sense by the end of the night, kid", concludes Jericho as he leaves the ring with the belt.Throughout the show, many RAW wrestlers ask Jericho to be careful at the PPV, even the babyfaces. These guys are dangerous, and in their two PPV appearances so far, they have taken out John Cena and Sheamus, the last two holders of the WWE Championship. Chris Jericho says he knows what he's getting himself into in the Cell, the ones who don't are The Nexus. The other wrestlers leave the room while Jericho looks cocky, but worried deep down inside. Before the night's final match, Jericho visits the production truck with some instructions in hand.Later that night, the Cell gets lowered for the final segment of that week's RAW. It's an edition of Highlight Reel with Wade Barrett. Chris Jericho comes out first, and he cuts another promo about his career and all his accolades, while constantly putting over The Nexus. However, he says only Chris Jericho knows how to stop them, and that will happen at Hell in a Cell. This brings out The Nexus, who laugh at such a ridiculous statement on top of the ramp. Wade Barrett reminds Jericho of what happened to Cena and Sheamus at the last two pay-per-views, but Jericho cuts him off there. He asks Barrett to join the ring as his scheduled guest, while The Nexus stay in the ramp. Barrett nods his head yes to the group, saying he's got this under control, and tells them to go to the back. However, just before Barrett makes it to ringside, Jericho stops him and tells him to watch this first. "Here's a video package of who you're getting into the Cell with on Sunday. Roll the footage, monkeys!". At the end of the video, Jericho quietly leaves the ring and slaps Barrett in the back of the head, prompting a chase and returning to the ring. Barrett gets in and Nexus charge down to ringside as well... but the Cell lowers completely and keeps them out, leaving Jericho alone with Barrett. Jericho drops Barrett with a Codebreaker to the delight of the crowd, while the Nexus essentially try to rip the cage apart. Jericho grabs the title and asks for a mic. "Like I said earlier, you were right about The Nexus being unstoppable. But guess what, junior. I don't need to beat The Nexus, do I? This Sunday, I won't be locked inside the cell with The Nexus. Oh no! I'll be locked inside the cell with Wade Barrett. Consider this your first lesson: all alone, you can't beat experience, punk!" Wham, a second Codebreaker! RAW goes off the air with Barrett staring at the lights for the first time since the Nexus' debut. The Nexus' first loss might very well be coming at Hell in a Cell!WWE Hell In A Cell 2010 - October 3, 2010
WWE Championship: Hell in a Cell Match - Chris Jericho(c) vs. Wade Barrett
It's main event time at the second annual Hell in a Cell pay-per-view. This is Wade Barrett's first ever singles match in WWE, believe it or not. Outside of the stuff in NXT Season 1, but who gives two sh-ts about that. As the challenger, he comes out first sans the group. Chris Jericho comes out last, and the WWE Champion looks rather confident while the officials close the structure. Barrett realizes he was outsmarted, but he no-sells it and looks equally confident. The crowd are not sure of who to cheer for, but most tend to side with Chris Jericho as he "represents WWE".
The match goes just like the build-up indicated, with Chris Jericho dominating most of the action as the experienced veteran. Wade Barrett puts up a good fight, but Jericho knows all the tricks in the book. Barrett tries to resort to violence as much as possible, throwing Jericho into the cell, the turnbuckles and the ringpost, while Jericho tries to keep it clean in the middle of the ring, where he knows he has the advantage. It's a smartly-worked wrestling match that makes sense. Barrett goes for a high knee onto Jericho's face through the cell at one point, but Y2J sidesteps and Barrett drives his own knees into the cage. Jericho goes to work on said knees, setting him up for the Walls of Jericho. Wade Barrett uses his strength to block an attempt at the Walls by Jericho, and powers him up into the Wasteland. However, Barrett's knee gives out, allowing Jericho to get out of that predicament. CODEBREAKER! However, the move luckily sends Barrett flying to the outside. Cue The Nexus, with Heath Slater coming out last and sliding a lead pipe through the cell while Jericho is distracted with the other members. Jericho arrogantly mocks the Nexus members and puts Barrett back inside the ring, ready to humiliate their leader and make him tap out in his first singles match. Jericho grabs the legs to go for the Walls. Just as he tries to rotate... WHAM! Right in the ribs. Jericho goes down like a ton of bricks. Barrett takes his time getting back up, and he's just on one good leg. Barrett repeatedly hits Jericho with violent shots to the mid-section with the lead pipe, and at this point it's academic already. Barrett picks him up for the Wasteland, but his knee gives out again due to the pain. This infuriates Barrett, who grabs the pipe again and just beats the living crap out of Jericho, who at this point starts coughing up blood. The EMTs try to open the cell door, but the other Nexus members beat them up. "He wanted to be alone in there with Wade, didn't he?" - Justin Gabriel could be heard saying. The referee begs Wade to start, but Barrett shoves him down. Finally, Barrett throws the pipe away. He grabs the referee by the shirt and screams "do your bloody job" before throwing him down aggressively. Barrett symbolically places the injured leg on top of Jericho's chest. It's Jericho's signature "arrogant cover". One. Two. Three. Wade Barrett is the WWE Champion!
After the bell, the cell raises so that Chris Jericho can finally get some medical help. However, the Nexus destroy all the "doctors" and officials, including the referee. Jerry Lawler and Matt Striker try to stop it, but they get dropped on their butts rather quickly. Wade Barrett keeps pointing to his injured leg, prompting his members to beat up Jericho some more and expose the ring once again. Michael Tarver brings the stairs into the ring. Barrett climbs and waits while the other Nexus members place Chris Jericho on Barrett's shoulder. Barrett finishes off Chris Jericho with a Wasteland onto the exposed ring canvas, writing Chris Jericho off WWE television for over a year, much like it happened in real life around this time in 2010. The Nexus stare down at the destroyed Chris Jericho, while the injured Wade Barrett looks at the camera. He places the WWE Championship on his shoulder, and points at the camera: "3". Hell in a Cell 2010 is off the air.
What is next for The Nexus?

Chapter 3: From The Hunters To The HuntedRAW: October 4, 2010On RAW following Hell in a Cell, The Nexus open the show to celebrate Wade's WWE Championship victory. Barrett reminds everyone of what he did to Chris Jericho last night, and that we won't be seeing him around for a while now. He dares anyone in the back to step up and be his first challenger at Bragging Rights. He is not expecting to hear this...You Think You Know Me!Surprisingly, fellow heel Edge accepts the challenge, having recently been at odds with the Anonymous RAW General Manager. Edge says that while he doesn't love Chris Jericho or John Cena, two of his biggest rivals ever, he definitely does not like to see a bunch of rookies taking out each wrestler of Edge's generation one by one. "Someone must have the guts to step up and stop you, and damn it... it might as well be me." - says Edge. Barrett laughs off at this claim. "Edge, do you even know what you're getting yourself into?" - Barrett asks. Edge immediately responds: "Woah woah excuse me you might wanna look in the mirror right about now. Do YOU know who you're talking to? I'm 'just' a nine-time World Champion. 'Just' a WrestleMania main-eventer. 'Just' the winner of this year's Royal Rumble match. 'Just' the first ever winner of the Money in the Bank Ladder Match. 'Just' one of the inventors of the TLC match. Do you think I was afraid when I stepped into the main event of WrestleMania and THE UNDERTAKER stood in the other corner? Do you think I was afraid when I walked INSIDE HELL IN A CELL with him? Or when Christian and I walked into the unknown and accepted the challenge of two of the greatest tag teams of all time in TLC? Do you think I was afraid of someone like John Cena? Why would I be afraid of stepping inside the ring with you?". Barrett: "That is fair, Edge, you did step into all of those matches with all of those legends throughout the last decade. The thing is... most of those matches you just mentioned right now... YOU LOST! Maybe that's why I think so." Edge responds that it's easy to talk trash when you stand behind six other guys. "At least when I stood behind someone helping me win the title, I was standing behind Lita. Not six grown men like you!". Edge walks away pulling his hair back while Barrett and The Nexus remain confident. At the end of the night, the anonymous RAW General Manager closes the show with two major announcements. First of all, the new WWE Champion Wade Barrett will be competing in his first ever RAW match when he takes on John Morrison in the main event. And lastly, someone who suffered an attack at the hands of The Nexus earlier in the year will be making their televised return to WWE - Mr. McMahon! Edge smirks looking at this in a monitor as the show closes.RAW: October 11, 2010The show opens up with Vince McMahon's limo arriving to the arena. Vince walks out of the limo and the first person he meets is Edge. "Hey hey Edge, what's up pal? I would like to wish you luck in your upcoming WWE Championship match at Bragging Rights agains...". Edge cuts him off: "Vince, sorry for cutting you off. First of all, it's nice to see that you're back and you're doing well." Vince: "Thank you Edge, I wanted to talk to you regar...", Edge cuts him off again. "Listen Vince, I'm sorry to stop you again, but there's something else that I'm not happy about and it's really been bothering me." Vince asks him what is it and if it's anything he can help him with. Edge: "It's... it's the current state of the WWE. Look, I don't wanna be misunderstood, but what's going on right now on both RAW and SmackDown is ridiculous, Vince, and I hope I'm not the only one who sees this. On RAW you got these new Nexus guys trying to take out everyone from my generation of superstars, Vince, the guys that have been carrying this company for the past decade or so. And on SmackDown, you've got CM Punk pretending to be Jesus with his so-called 'disciples', trying to do things such as stripping Rey Mysterio off his mask. Rey sells more merchandise on WWE Shop more than almost anyone with those masks, Vince. At Bragging Rights, they should have to face each other with the losing group getting disbanded." McMahon replies: "Well, the businessman in me does find that pay-per-view encounter appealing, but I have to say that I somewhat question your motivations here, Edg..." Edge: "Look, I'm aware of my track record and my reputation, but I see two groups trying to take money off of your empire, Vince, and in the process trying to take food off of my family's table. I am not going to sit here and just allow that to happen." Vince says he likes the idea and he'll consider it before walking away. Edge smiles as Vince leaves the scene. In the penultimate match of the night, Edge scores an impressive win over The Great Khali after dropping the big man with a Spear. Once Edge walks backstage after the match, we see him winking at somebody off-camera in the back.Wade Barrett vs. John MorrisonThe main event of the evening features Wade Barrett's debut match on weekly television, against John Morrison. They work a decent match with Barrett mostly dominating. However, Morrison gets a good comeback near the end as Barrett is still feeling the effects of the Hell in a Cell match. Just as John Morrison goes for his version of the disaster kick, Barrett moves out of the way and Morrison takes out the referee instead. A second shot does knock Barrett out, though, and Morrison is feeling Starship Pain, only for The Nexus to jump him. This prompts the babyface RAW locker room to run-in and make the save, getting into a huge brawl with The Nexus. In the middle of all this, a tall guy with tattoos and a hood on muscles Darren Young to the back, but no one from The Nexus notices as the brawl continues and they destroy most of the undercarders. With The Nexus standing tall and the referee still out, footage starts playing on the titantron of the guy taking Young to the back. He takes off his mask to reveal... Luke Gallows! Right next to him is SmackDown's CM Punk, the leader of the Straight Edge Society, who drops Darren Young with the Go To Sleep and tells his former NXT rookie that he could cure him of all his recent mistakes. Seeing this, Barrett orders the remaining four Nexus members (sans Michael Tarver, who was out by this point with a serious injury) to split in groups of 2. Otunga and Slater stay at ringside, while Bryan and Gabriel run to the back after the SES. The invading SmackDown guys walk away at this point, and once they get to the back they get surprised with vicious Spears from Edge, who winks at the camera to Barrett! This distraction allows Morrison to connect with another disaster kick as the in-ring action resumes. Morrison goes up for Starship Pain, but Barrett pushes the ropes and knocks Morrison out cold onto the turnbuckle. Barrett follows it up with a nasty Wasteland as the referee slowly comes back to life, counting the pinfall win for Barrett in his first match on television. However, Wade Barrett isn't happy despite the victory. He puts the boots to some of the fallen undercarders around ringside, picking up Morrison for a second Wasteland. He walks to the ramp and picks up Evan Bourne on his shoulders for another Wasteland, but Vince McMahon's music stops him. Vince tells him he'll face serious consequences if he completes the move. Barrett doesn't even care and he drops Bourne with a thud on the ramp. Vince immediately makes the Nexus vs. SES match official for Bragging Rights, with not only the losing team being disbanded, but to the wrestler that gets pinned... YOU'RE FIRED! Barrett couldn't care less as he stands tall above the other wrestlers raising his WWE Championship, but Otunga and Slater look at their leader sideways in the background to close RAW.RAW: October 18, 2010This is the go-home episode before Bragging Rights. Edge opens the show to address what happened last week. He brings up the segment with The Nexus a couple of weeks ago, and says he chose to let his actions speak rather than just running his big mouth. "Now you may know who you're getting into the ring with this Sunday. Or then again, maybe... you think you know me!". The entire course of the WWE might chance after Bragging Rights all thanks to Edge. When you tune in to Monday Night RAW by this time next week, there might very well be a new WWE Champion around here. There might even be no more Nexus! All Edge can guarantee is that he's not like anyone Barrett or the Nexus have faced before, and while he did lose to most of those legends as Barrett claimed two weeks ago, there's a reason why he's still standing here today as a nine-time World Champion! But before leaving, Edge says the changes start tonight. He proceeds to destroy the computer of the Anonymous RAW General Manager to prevent shenanigans coming from him at Bragging Rights, leaving RAW manager-less for the time being! We cut to the back where Barrett is standing with his guys. He starts by addressing the elephant in the room, apologizing for getting The Nexus in jeopardy last week. However, he didn't do it for his own personal benefit or to feed his own ego. He did it to make a statement in front of the world - you don't push The Nexus around. He did it to maintain the group's reputation and credibility. Barrett continues: "But still, there's no changing history now - we do have to get through this match with the Straight Edge Society at Bragging Rights. We need three guys to face Punk and his 'disciples', and tonight you'll each be in singles matches to impress me. Well, all of you except Darren. I'm doing this for the benefit of The Nexus, as CM Punk will try to use you and manipulate you on their way to victory. Understand that I'm doing this for The Nexus, Darren". David Otunga vs. Yoshi Tatsu - This match goes less than 3 minutes and is easily won by Otunga with a full-nelson slam. Barrett looks impressed.Justin Gabriel vs. Kaval - It takes a bit longer for Justin Gabriel to get the job done, as the former (and future) Low Ki and Gabriel go back-and-forth exchanging some of their impressive high-flying maneuvers. After a little over 5 minutes, Gabriel catches Kaval with a devastating superkick to the back of the head. Gabriel climbs to the top rope, adding the exclamation point with the 450º Splash for the victory. Barrett again likes what he sees.Daniel Bryan vs. R-Truth - This one goes about as long as the previous match, with the veteran Truth taking it to Bryan, who manages to outwrestle Truth numerous times throughout the match. Truth eventually runs wild as he makes his fast-paced comeback in the end, but knocks himself out on the turnbuckle as Bryan dodges the running corkscrew elbow thing that Truth used to do. Bryan rolls him up into a bridging position, holding a handful of tights as well to secure the pinfall. Barrett likes Bryan's ring-awareness and winning instincts.Heath Slater vs. Tyson Kidd - Slater gets perhaps the toughest challenge of them all, facing one half of the current WWE Tag Team Champions in the Hart Dynasty. Kidd shows his technical superiority in this match, but to his credit Slater does pretty well for himself. However, Natalya gets up on the apron and Darren Young tries to stop the interference, which gives Tyson Kidd a close nearfall and leaves Barrett angry. A couple of minutes later, David Hart Smith gets up on the apron to argue with the referee, prompting Young to react once again. Young falls for it, but Barrett immediately pushes him back to stop him. Tyson Kidd charges at Slater but ends up taking down his partner instead, who nearly takes out Natalya in his fall. Slater rolls up Tyson Kidd for the win. After the match, it's time for Barrett's official announcement in the final segment of the show. He congratulates everyone on their wins, ultimately choosing Otunga, Gabriel and Bryan. Darren feels bad for Slater, who doesn't care as The Nexus are one regardless of who's in the ring on Sunday. He and Barrett pat Young on the back. But then, Edge shows up on the titantron. He asks them if they really are ready for Bragging Rights. He wants to know if they realize what's on the line for each and every single member of the group at the pay-per-view. He finishes by saying that it all could change in a second, just like that... Edge snaps his fingers.WHAM! Edge with a Spear to Barrett in a hit-and-run attack! It was a pre-recorded tape playing on the titantron! Edge walks to the parking lot where he tells The Nexus to get ready, before driving off in his car. The go-home show goes off the air with The Nexus looking agitated and worried.WWE Bragging Rights - October 24, 2010Losing Team Disbands + Loser Of The Fall Gets Fired: The Straight Edge Society (CM Punk, Luke Gallows & Joey Mercury) (w/ Serena) vs. The Nexus (Daniel Bryan, Justin Gabriel & David Otunga) (w/ Wade Barrett and Heath Slater)
This is a very close match that gets around 15 minutes from bell-to-bell. Darren Young was banned from ringside by Wade Barrett to avoid any attempts at mind games by CM Punk. There are several nearfalls throughout this match, with each wrestler giving it their all to avoid getting pinned and fired. Near the end, CM Punk takes care of The Nexus with a rapid succession of moves, drawing Darren Young to run-in against Barrett's orders. He shoves Punk off as he tries the Go To Sleep on Bryan, but when he shoves him Bryan was about to reverse the move into the LeBell Lock. Young essentially ends up throwing Punk into a tag to Mercury, which leaves Barrett confused: was he trying to prevent the GTS or was he saving Punk from Bryan's hold?
Barrett orders Young to stand at ringside next to him and Slater watching the match, who obliges. The match goes on for a few more minutes but Barrett eventually gets involved, allowing Otunga to nail Mercury with the full-nelson slam while Bryan shoves Gallows into Punk with a double-noggin knocker. Otunga tags in Gabriel, who follows up with the 450º Splash on Mercury for the victory. The Nexus are still around while the Straight Edge Society are finished as a group, and Joey Mercury is gone.
Wade Barrett orders The Nexus to punish Punk for the psychological games played throughout the past several weeks, with each Nexus member delivering a finisher. This takes CM Punk out of the ring for a couple of months like in real life, as he shortly did commentary around this time on RAW. The same happens in this fantasy booking.
WWE Championship: Wade Barrett(c) (w/ The Nexus) vs. Edge
Edge realizes what has just happened - his plan didn't work and The Nexus are still around! He looks for a plan B throughout the first minutes of this match, but Barrett is able to maintain control with the help of the presence of The Nexus at ringside. Just as Barrett is about to hit Wasteland, Edge reverses and connects with his Impaler DDT for a two-count. Much like Jericho, Edge has the, well, edge(!) when it comes to in-ring experience over Barrett and that is what keeps him in the fight.
Barrett steps up his game as the match goes longer too, coming up with some good reversals for some of Edge's signature offensive moves. Ultimately, Edge throws Barrett off the apron onto all the Nexus guys! The fans sense the finish coming when Edge prepares to hit the Spear back inside the ring. The Rated-R Superstar charges... into Barrett's shoulders! Barrett blocks the Spear and turns it into the Wasteland, scoring the victory in his first WWE Championship defense on pay-per-view.
After the match, Barrett orders The Nexus to prepare another attack. He wants the big one that took out Jericho and Cena, with the broken ring and all. But somehow Edge finds a way to escape, running away from the ring as soon as he finds one second to do so. He runs all the way to the back, where he runs right into Teddy Long. He asks for a contract right there on the spot in a hilarious bit, wanting nothing to do with The Nexus. Wade Barrett laughs feeling like the king of the world watching Edge sign the contract with SmackDown on the titantron. Barrett celebrates in the ring with the rest of the group when...
RKO!!
Randy Orton gets the hell out of town! For the first time since their debut, not only is a PPV not ending with The Nexus taking someone out on the destroyed ring, but it's actually Wade Barrett staring up at the lights! Is this the first sign of cracks within The Nexus? Randy Orton clearly wants the next challenge. The Nexus are FURIOUS as Bragging Rights fades away.
What is next for The Nexus?
