I have started a TEW career with the unknown David Brown, who is named head booker of WCCW after Gary Hart's departure from the company, just a few days after the angle that would create a lot of buzz around World Class

Gran Markus should not be unimportant. Considering he was a big name in Texas at this time. His team with Gino Hernandez was hated in early 80's in Texas. At least well known.
Checkmate aka Tony Charles should be recognizable.

January 1st 1983
- It's my first day at work and I am terribly nervous. Fritz welcomed me saying he trusts me a lot, but then also said that he will soon gave me some owner goals to be reached... talk about pressure!
- This Von Erichs vs. Freebirds angle looks really promising, but the undercard is quite weak. I think I will have to hire some new talents soon...
- Fritz asked me what would I change within the company and I mentioned that our production values aren't the best in the country. He promised that he will do something about it
- Fritz wants me to book the weekly TV show plus a supercard shwùlw a month. He also asked to bring Parade of Champions back as one of our big events and I dig the idea
- I spoke to our current TV provider and they accepted to broadcast our supercards on TV for the next year. I am not really happy about the graveyard timeslot, but we will hopefully be able to negotiate it if things to well
- Thankfully the locker room seems to like me so far. I have promised them that we will provide catering and a chiropractic at each show
- I spoke to our little marketing team and hired an extra person, we will spend $500 more a month now but I am expecting a decent profit down the road
- Jim Crocket Jr. called me and wished me good luck. I mentioned the need of World Class and Mid Atlantic working together and he is not interested in regularly trading talents, but assured me that he will have a friendly relationship
- I also reached Antonio Inoki and told him that he can feel free to send me some talent on excursions if he has any ideas. He seemed quite pleased. I actually approached Giant Baba first and he refused any kind of collaboration, which is quite strange since we are supposed to use Jumbo Tsuruta already... I am wondering if it's worth it

January 2nd - 4th 1983
- Fritz has called me into his office with 3 goals we wants me to reach in the next 2 years. He doesn't want me to hire any strikers or powerhouse worker, which is not really a problem... but he also wants World Class to be the 2nd most important company in the world by the end of 1984! I am now shi***ng myself...
- A lot of wrestlers seem to be hungry for work and ready for action, they quickly replied to my offers. I have already hired Matt Borne, Bobby Eaton, Terry Taylor and Sherri Martel, plus I am awaiting for a few wrestlers to get back to me. I will likely not use all the new talents all at once, I am being really carefully with only picking wrestlers that are over in Mid South and can hang in the ring as well
- I spoke to Jumbo Tsuruta and explained that flying him from Japan regularly is not really ideal and so I had to let him go. He didn't seem bothered at all, as he's doing really well in All Japan. Baba doesn't want to do business with anybody, so I haven't really burned a bridge here. I have also released Tim Brooks. As I want to improve the undercard, I will slowly have to let quite a few talents go, but I want to evaluate them first
- While I was booking my first show, I was told that The Spoiler was being judged by the wrestlers' court. He was guilty of not drinking with the boys after the last show, so he was told to pick up the next tab... as he seemed fine with it, I'll grab a beer myself!
World Class Championship Wrestling 04.01.1983 Amarillo, TX Attendance: 3.343 TV rating: 0.27 - around 230.000 viewers Show rating: 57/100
- Jimmy Garvin (w/ Sunshine) def. Matt Borne (46)
- Postmatch Garvin cuts promo against the newcomers, especially Terry Taylor (68)
- WCCW TV Title: Al Madril def. Magic Dragon (w/ Arman Hussein) (44)
- Postmatch Josè Lothario saves Madril from Dragon and Checkmate (40)
- Iceman Parsons vs. The Spoiler ends in a double DQ (35)
- Taped promo from The Great Kabuki, who wants a TV Title shot (47)
- On stage Bill Mercer wants to interview the Freebirds about their turn on the Von Erichs, but they just leave without saying a word (59)
- The Freebirds def. King Kong Bundy, Samu & Gran Markus (63)
Show notes
- The fans and the critics seemed quite pleased with the show, especially thanks to the main event, but the TV broadcast didn't seem to please about the rating. Ouch
- Sunshine and Garvin are a great pairing
- Apparently Magic Dragon and Arman Hussein have no chemistry and don't want to work with each other
- José Lothario is unhappy about his gimmick, I will need to change it soon
- The crowd was incredibly hot for the main event
- We made around $80.000 from ticket sales, advertises and sponsor, while we spent around $60.000 for workers and productions costs so far, so not bad
- We also made around $8.000 in merchandising. Our team will send a monthly report and I can't wait to find out who's the top seller

January 5th - 11th 1983
- More wrestlers have accepted my offers: Chris Adams and Tommy Rich. I wanted a good midcard babyface team on my roster and one of them might be involved in it, maybe both? I'll think about it
- Running my weekly shows on Thursdays is quite convenient as an NWA member, because Ric Flair is mostly free on those days. Everytime he's been around in 1982, we did great business so I was thinking of using him more in 1983. He will be booked for the next TV episode as a follow up of the Christmas Star Wars finish
- Speaking of Flair, this week he released an interview burying all the Mid Atlantic locker room and praising himself. He is over and the World Champion, but I sure hope he won't be that mean to my guys...
- I was looking for a road agent and approached Gary Hart, who shockingly accepted to return to help out backstage. I am really surprised, but Gary is also working for Mid South and Mid Atlantic, he probably doesn't see his return as that big of a deal. I might get him on camera soon... everyone in the locker room loves him, which is a plus
- The WWF is creating some dissension in the NWA, as they declared war to both MACW and GCW this week. Ouch
- I have asked Armand Hussein not to manage Magic Dragon anymore, but he will still be in his corner during the stable's matches. Let's see how it goes
- Apparently things are a bit tense in some promotions: Tim Horner is creating a lot of issues in the Mid South's locker room due to playing politics, while Southwest Championship Wrestling and Stampede seem to be in debt
- Central State Wrestling signed both Kevin Von Erich and Buddy Roberts to PPA deals. I spoke to them and of course they will only work for them when their show don't conflict with ours
- Sunshine showed up drunk to our TV tapings, so I fined her and sent her home. Jimmy Garvin seemed really thankful for the way I handled it. He's really well liked backstage
- I was also really disappointed at Chris Adams, who showed up in no condition to perform due to soft drug abuse. As Sunshine, he was sent home and fined. Both Gary Hart and Kerry Von Erich seemed happy about my decision
World Class Championship Wrestling 11.01.1983 San Antonio, TX Attendance: 3404 TV rating: 0.27 Show rating: 58/100
- Kerry Von Erich def. Bugsy McGraw in 5:12 (50)
- At ringside Bill Mercer tries to interview Iceman Parson, but The Spoiler interrupts and they argue. Spoiler threatens Iceman and leaves (58)
- The Great Kabuki (w/ Armand Hussein) def. Brian Adias in 6:30 (52)
- Taped interview of Al Madril and Josè Lothario from last week, they want revenge on Hussein and his group (44)
- Terry Taylor def. Bill Irwin in 6:49. During the match, Mercer and Marc Lowrance talk about Taylor vs. Jimmy Garvin being signed for New Year's Star Wars (56)
- At ringside Bill Mercer interviews Skandor Akbar and King Kong Bundy about the No DQ match for the NWA American Heavyweight Title between Bundy and Kevin Von Erich, signed for New Year's Star Wars (59)
- Taped interview of Ric Flair on Kerry Von Erich. He dares Kerry to get a partner of his choice at New Year's Star Wars and he will do the same (64)
- WCCW Six Men Tag Team Titles: The Fabulous Freebirds (c) def. Iceman Parsons, Mike Bond & Tola Tatsu in 9:41 (49)
- Postmatch The Von Erichs reach ringside for an interview and confrontation, but the Freebirds quickly leave the ring (80)
Show notes
- Iceman Parsons is getting over with the crowd
- Kabuki and Adias love working with each other
- José Lothario wasn't happy again, I tweaked his character but he also hated being on a scripted interview...
- Sherri and Terry Taylor are a good pairing
- Crowd was really hot for the final confrontation and for Ric Flair, but apparently I need better colour commentators on TV because it ruined Flair's interview. I will speak to Gary Hart and appoint him right away, I will use Lowrance for minor interviews
- Gary Hart told me in confidence that Bugsy McGraw "doesn't get it and needs to go". I'm in the middle, I think Bugsy is an okay lowcarder but he's not the type of wrestler that will make us grow. I am actively recruiting, but the transaction takes time
- Ric Flair seemed pleased with the show, but took the time to tell me that Checkmate has no charisma and he should be fired. Tony was actually supposed to wrestle his compatriot Chris Adams before the incident took place, I think it would have been a good match too
WCCW New Year's Star Wars 28.01.1983 - Ric Flair & ??? vs. Kerry Von Erich & ??? - NWA American Heavyweight Title No DQ Match: Kevin Von Erich (c) vs. King Kong Bundy - Jimmy Garvin vs. Terry Taylor

The roster is pretty thin, but due to being part of the NWA, that's actually a great thing. The ones you have are useful and you can get locals to job for them. New Year's Star Wars is looking promising. There were no Horsemen yet, so I'm curious to see who's teaming with Flair.
