Ladder Match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship
Swerve Strickland (C) w/Hit Row vs Seth Rollins
(After he saved Ricochet from a beatdown by Hit Row at Survivor Series: War Games, Seth Rollins moves on to a feud with Swerve Strickland and his Intercontinental Championship, with an IC title match being made between the 2 for TLC. Rollins says that Swerve may be in the midst of a historic reign as Intercontinental Championship, but deep down inside, Swerve knows that as much as he has made it mean, there's 1 thing that mean's more, and it's one thing that Swerve knows deep down in his soul when he goes to bed at night, when he wakes up in the morning, and that's he is not Seth Rollins, and at TLC, The Visionary claims what he lost 4 years ago at this very event and becomes a 3-time Intercontinental Champion. Swerve says that Seth is whining and complaining about how he hasn't been a champion in years, and for that, he's playing the world's smallest violin, and that violin will continue to play when Seth is the latest person to come up short against The Mogul at TLC. Swerve wins this banger of a Ladder Match after interference by Hit Row.)
Tables Match
Bobby Lashley vs Bronson Reed
(The Almighty and The Colossal continue to feud after they both failed to win the US title, with both men agreeing to settle their score at TLC in a Tables Match. Reed says that he may not have been able to become United States Champion at Survivor Series, but Bobby Lashley didn't either, and that brought a smile to his face, because he needs to remind everyone who he is, he needs to topple The Almighty once and for all. Lashley says that Reed is right, he needs to win because if he doesn't, he'll end up by the waste side and get forgotten all over again. Lashley scores the win with a Spear through a Table.)
Raw Women's Championship
Rhea Ripley (C) w/Damian Priest & Joe Gacy vs Raquel Rodriguez
(After retaining her Raw Women's Championship over Tegan Nox at Survivor Series, Raw Women's Champion Rhea Ripley begins a storyline with her old tag partner Nikki Cross, confronting Nikki backstage and telling her that she used to be one of the most feared women on the roster with how crazy she was, it got her the Smackdown Women's Championship, but she ditched all of that and look where it got her, mediocrity, Nikki even dragged her down with her, but she was able to realise she needed to change to get back to the top, and if Nikki ever wants to see a Women's Championship again, she needs to do the same. Later that night, Nikki has a #1 contenders match against Raquel Rodriguez, which Raquel wins thanks to Rhea costing Nikki the match, with Rhea telling Nikki "Wake the f*ck up, I'm trying to save you from the mediocrity you constantly settle for". Raquel says that Rhea isn't even focused on her, she's too busy "helping" her former tag partner, when she's just trying to torture her, and that distraction is gonna cost Rhea, because just like when she sent Rhea packing from NXT, she claims the Raw Women's Championship from Rhea. Rhea says that she seriously doesn't care about how Raquel "sent her packing from NXT", she was on her way out anyway, she was just looking for the quickest exit, because had she actually cared about that match and shown up motivated, it would've went the same way their TLC match is going to go, a one sided beating. Rhea scores the win over Raquel with 2 Riptides. After the match, the lights go out, and it cuts to an unknown area, where we see a hooded woman holding a framed photo of when Rhea Ripley & Nikki Cross won the women's tag titles, before the woman drops the framed photo, and picks up the picture of Rhea & Nikki from the shards of broken glass, then tosses the picture into a fire, before turning around and taking off her hood... it's Nikki Cross! and she's sadistic as ever. The words "Pay attention, pay attention b*tch" are then heard, followed by a remixed version of SAnitY's theme, and outcomes Nikki Cross, who sprints to the ring to brawl with Rhea. Rhea doesn't retreat, she stands her ground and fights Nikki, but Nikki gets the better of her, and is about to hit Rhea with a Twisted Neckbreaker, only for Damian Priest and Joe Gacy to pull Rhea out of the ring and carry Rhea to the back as Rhea tries to free herself from Priest and Gacy's clutches to get back in and fight Nikki, but they both tell Rhea to live to fight another day.)
WWE United States Championship
Austin Theory (C) vs Braun Strowman
(Strowman continues to go after Theory and the US title following Survivor Series: Wargames. Strowman says that he was seconds away from becoming a 2-time United States Champion, but that little weasel Austin Theory stole that away from him, but now that he has Theory 1-on-1, Austin Theory is gonna get these hands. Theory (who has begun mocking John Cena by beginning every one of his promos with "The Champ, is, here!") says that Braun is caught up in the past, but we're in The Now, and whilst Strowman is still crying over spilt milk in the past, he's getting outclassed in every single way by The Now, because Strowman's time is up, and his time is now, and at TLC, just like everyone else who steps up to The Now, Strowman is going down, A-Town Down! Theory shows an impressive feet of strength when he lifts Strowman up for The A-Town Down for the win to retain the US title.)
Tag Team Chairs Match for the Smackdown Tag Team Championships
The Usos (C) w/Solo Sikoa vs The Banger Bros (Sheamus & Drew McIntyre) w/The Brawling Brutes
(After coming up short against The Bloodline in Wargames, Sheamus & Drew McIntyre, who now have the tag team name of "The Banger Bros" continue to wage war with The Bloodline, only now they go after The Usos and their Smackdown Tag Team Championships, winning a #1 contenders match over Legado Del Fantasma to secure the title shot. Sheamus & Drew say that they may have both failed against Roman Reigns, but they need to put the dagger in the heart of one of The Bloodline's title reigns, and if it's not gonna be Roman, it for damn sure is gonna be The Usos. The Usos say that The Bloodline has gotten the better of Sheamus & Drew time after time after time, because they the 2's, and we the one's. The Usos eventually score the win after a 1D on Sheamus onto a stack of chairs.)
Smackdown Women's Championship
Liv Morgan (C) vs Emma
(Following leading her team to victory over Damage CTRL inside Wargames, Liv Morgan continues her feud with Emma, who secures a Smackdown Women's Championship after defeating Liv's best friend Sarah Logan to secure herself a title shot. Emma says that had she not have been let go 5 years ago, there wouldn't be a spot for Liv on the main roster, and she'd still be rotting away in NXT, but now that she's back, she's going to take what's rightfully hers, the Smackdown Women's Championship. Liv says that Emma may have set the foundation for the Women's Evolution, but 5 years ago, she was given her marching orders and fell off the face of the earth, and during that time, while Emma had to work on the indies to try to get a second chance, she rose up and became the face of the Smackdown Women's Division, so at TLC, after she retains, Emma can consider this comeback just like her career, a failure. Liv scores the win after an Ob-Liv-ion. After the match, Liv's best friend Sarah Logan comes down, but Sarah has an emotionless look on her face. Liv hugs Sarah once she gets in the ring, but then The Viking Raiders entrance music hits, and Erik & Ivar come out. Liv is confused as to why they're are out here, but then, she's attacked from behind by Sarah Logan, Sarah has once again betrayed her. Sarah savagely beats down Liv, before giving Liv the Kentucky Knee on a chair, and hoisting up Liv's Smackdown Women's Championship.)
I Quit Match
Edge vs Finn Balor
(On the Raw after Survivor Series: War Games, Edge cuts a promo addressing his loss to Johnny Gargano at Survivor Series: War Games with the rest of Judgment Day by his side, when he's cut off by Finn Balor, who tells Edge that it's time Judgment Day sheds the last bit of limitation that is holding them back, and that limitation, is Edge. Balor, Priest, Gacy, and Ripley then all attack Edge and turn on him, Edge has been kicked out of the group he created. Balor concludes the beatdown with a night stick-assisted crossface. The following week, Judgment Day scores a victory over Dolph Ziggler & Mustafa Ali in a tag match, with JD beating down both men, until Edge's music hits, and outcomes The Rated R Superstar, he's back, and he lays out Balor, Priest, and Gacy with a Spear each. Edge says that for almost 9 months, he's been an a$$hole, he created Judgment Day to help underutilised talent reach their full potential, and he did succeed with that, Priest and Gacy became 2-time Raw Tag Team Champions, Rhea Ripley became a Money in the Bank winner and reclaimed the Raw Women's Championship, but Finn Balor, he became powerhungry, he wanted Judgment Day to be about him, so that's why he took leadership for himself, but now, it's time to kill what he created, which is why at TLC, he wants Finn Balor... in an I Quit Match! Balor accepts, saying that Edge has always been the weak link in Judgment Day, he's the only one who ever suffered those big losses, losing the US title Match to him back at Money in the Bank, losing to AJ at Summerslam, and after he lost to Johnny Gargano at Survivor Series: War Games, that was the last straw, Judgment Day couldn't be associated with weakness any longer, and now, now he wants an I Quit Match, which he's surprised Edge wants because, 11 years ago, Edge was medically forced to quit, but against all the odds, he fought back with strength and determination and overcame and returned to doing what he loves the most, and performing in this ring for all the fans, but as with most things with life, you can only outrun fate for so long, judgment catches up to everyone, and at TLC, he is gonna act as the cruel hand of fate that he doesn't belong anywhere near a ring that he's standing in, but he's gonna do Edge a favour because he's a nice guy, he's gonna beat Edge so bad, that he's gonna be down and out and he's gonna force him to utter the words "I Quit". This is the exact same match that they had at Extreme Rules (just without Rey Mysterio showing up), with Priest, Gacy, and Rhea Ripley all getting involved, Beth Phoenix showing up to help her husband Edge, only for Rhea Ripley to cheap shot Beth, and get her in position for a conchairto on Beth, with Priest and Gacy forcing Edge to watch. Just as Rhea is about to hit the conchairto, Edge says "I Quit" to try to save his wife, but Rhea says "You taught us too well" and still goes through with the conchairto on Beth. Judgment Day then celebrates as they head to the back, all while Edge clutches his fallen wife.)
WWE Championship
Karrion Kross (C) w/Scarlett vs Johnny Gargano (By Technical Submission)
(Gargano wins a 6-pack challenge over Keith Lee, Bobby Lashley, Bronson Reed, Carmelo Hayes, and Dominik Mysterio to secure a WWE title shot against Karrion Kross. Gargano says that he didn't just come back because he wanted to back, he wants the 1 thing he's been working his whole life for, the WWE Championship, and at TLC, he makes that dream a reality. Kross says that Gargano is the type of guy who will never back down, but that's his weakness, because he needs to know for his own good that there are battles that you just can't win, and this is one of them, because no matter what, everyone pays the toll, tick tock. Kross wins after countering One Final Beat into a Doomsday Saito on the outside, before getting Gargano back in the ring and hitting a Kross Hammer followed up with the Kross Jacket.)
Tag Team TLC Match - if Kevin Owens & John Cena win, Kevin Owens will earn a World Heavyweight Title Shot at The Royal Rumble
The Bloodline (Roman Reigns & Sami Zayn) w/Paul Heyman vs Kevin Owens & John Cena
(On the Smackdown after Survivor Series, The Bloodline (except for Roman Reigns & Paul Heyman who are both absent) cut a promo, with Jey Usos saying that The Bloodline went to war at Wargames, it was one of the worst matches they've ever been through, but you saw who was left standing tall. Jimmy Uso follows up on this, saying that for the first time ever, there are no cracks in The Bloodline, and tells Sami that someone in the back is a little mad, Kevin Owens, he's mad because Sami isn't his Dawg, he's The Bloodline's Dawg. Sami now has the mic, saying that for the past 6 months, Jimmy has accepted him no matter what, he's been on Sami's side no matter what, he really has been down with him since Day 1, and Jey, the past 6 months haven't been easy, he knows for most of that time Jey hasn't trusted him, and he knows for most of that time, Jey didn't like him, but at Survivor Series: War Games, the way Jey accepted him into this family, the way that he embraced him at the end of that match, that was Ucey. Sami says he wants Jey to know that any Bloodline business that they have to handle, they are on the same page. Sami and Jey then hug it out, before Kevin Owens interrupts. KO tells Sami that he gets it, he completely understands why Sami chose to do what he did at Survivor Series: War Games, because how many times throughout their careers has he done the exact same thing to Sami, how many times did he turn on Sami, stab him in the back, he gets it, he's not mad at Sami, he can't blame Sami for it one bit, so he's not here to fight Sami, it's actually quite the opposite, because since Saturday, he can't help but think that for 20 years, their careers have been linked to one another, but after Saturday, he doesn't wanna fight Sami, he doesn't wanna team with Sami, he doesn't want to ride to shows with Sami, he's just done, he doesn't want anything to do with Sami. Sami responds to KO, saying that's fine, he feels exactly the same way, he doesn't want to team with KO again, he doesn't want to fight him again, he's ok if he's never in the same room as Kevin Owens again, because he doesn't need him anymore, he has family now. Kevin Owens has a match against Jey Uso later that evening, which he wins. The following week, Roman Reigns returns to Smackdown for the first time since Survivor Series: War Games. During the show, Roman asks Paul Heyman to call Adam Pearce into his personal locker room, where Roman requests a tag match for TLC, him & Sami Zayn vs Kevin Owens & a partner of KO's choosing, in a tag team TLC Match, and hell, if KO manages to pull off a miracle and wins, he'll give KO a World Heavyweight Title Shot at the Royal Rumble. Later that night, Roman cuts a promo in the ring, saying The Bloodline has a KO problem, he's a problem for Sami, he won't leave him alone, he won't leave him alone, he won't stop stalking him, he won't keep dragging Sami down, and if he's a problem for Sami, he's a problem for him, if KO is a problem for him, he's a problem for The Bloodline, but don't worry, The Tribal Chief has a solution, because at TLC, he & Sami are gonna smash KO and whoever his tag partner is, they're gonna smash him, they're gonna get rid of him, and they're gonna make sure nobody see's Kevin Owens again. Sami then says that Roman is absolutely right, even after all this time, KO continues to drag him, down, Kevin Owens is a cancer, he betrays everyone in his life, he's KO's only friend. The Bloodline then all look at Sami after saying that, and Sami quickly corrects himself, saying he was Kevin Owens' only friend, before then telling Roman that it will be an honor and a privilege to stand side by side with The Tribal Chief, before Sami is interrupted by John Cena who appears on the titantron through a special video. Cena says he bets The Bloodline is a little surprised to see him, and well, it's the Holiday season, and everyone loves a good holiday surprise, including him, and boy was he surprised when he got a text message out of the blue from Kevin Owens who said "Sup Peacemaker. Did you know you've had a WWE match every year for the past 20 years, except for this year? Your streak is about to be broken, you're running out of time to have a match this year, do you want to be my tag team partner at TLC?" and to answer that question, hell yes he'll be Kevin Owens' tag partner at TLC. On the go-home Smackdown before TLC, Sami says in a promo that all he's ever wanted is a little respect, and after all these years, a place to belong, and after all this time, he found that with the hottest group in the history of WWE, The Bloodline, he found family, he found respect, and you'd think that everyone chanting his name would put him on top of the world, but it doesn't because there is a black cloud hanging over his head, and it's called Kevin Owens, because every turn, every big moment he has is ruined by Kevin Owens, but not just Kevin Owens, but by Kevin Owens' existence, the fact that his name has been tied to his for his entire career and he can't get rid of him, and he wants to carry on and say he's done with him, but he's not done with The Bloodline, Kevin Owens doesn't have a problem with The Bloodline, Kevin Owens has a problem with him, and then, of all things, he wants to bring back John Cena to try to upstage The Bloodline, to try to steal the show, but he's got news for KO, The Bloodline is the show, because Kevin, listen very closely, and John, he doesn't know where you've been, and he doesn't care but he hopes he's watching, The Bloodline is going to destroy them, The Bloodline is going to rip them apart, The Bloodline is going to leave them mangled, because they're trying to step to The Bloodline, and when that happens, you get smashed, so prepare for TLC to do what every other man in the back has done, and that is Acknowledge The Tribal Chief. Roman then further shows his manipulation over Sami and hugs him. The match is one big Demolition Derby, that concludes with KO powerbombing Sami off the top of a ladder through a stack of tables and unhooking the contract hanging above the ring to score the win for his team and to secure himself a World Heavyweight Title Shot against Roman Reigns at the Royal Rumble.)

NXT New Year's Evil 2023
Date: January 7th, 2023
Location: T-Mobile Center, Kansas City, Missouri
Card
Indus Sher (Veer & Sanga) w/Jinder Mahal & Shanky vs The Creed Brothers w/Ivy Nile
(In November, Veer makes a surprise return to NXT by himself to confront his old tag partner Sanga from Indus Sher, telling Sanga that he's become lost without him, Sanga needs purpose again, he needs to remind everyone just how dangerous they are. On the go-home NXT before Deadline, Veer & Sanga attack The Creed Brothers, which turns Sanga heel, and when they stand tall over Julius and Brutus, Jinder Mahal's music hits, and outcomes Jinder Mahal & Shanky, with The Modern Day Maharaja returning to NXT for the first time in over a decade. Sanga then pleges his alliegence to Jinder Mahal, The Modern Day Maharaja has a new mercenary. Jinder says that he and his crew got sick and tired of trying to earn everyone's respect on Smackdown, so alongside their new ally Sanga on NXT, they're going to start taking everyone's respect. The Creeds issue out a challenge to Indus Sher for a match at New Year's Evil, saying all Jinder knows is how to lose, it's what he does best, and they want to reinforce that even with Sanga now standing by his side. Jinder accepts on Indus Sher's behalf, saying that over on Raw & Smackdown, his track record of wins and losses may not be the greatest, but in NXT, it's a whole different ballgame, because now, he's going to lead a group of winners who will stand tall every time they step foot in that ring. Sanga scores the win for his team with a chokeslam on Julius Creed.)
Charlie Dempsey vs Hank Walker w/Drew Gulak
(In October, Drew Gulak turns face on The Alpha Academy after walking out on them after a tag loss to #DIY, turning Drew face. The next time we see Gulak is in NXT 2 weeks later. Gulak says that for years, he was held back by management, but then he got accepted into The Alpha Academy and he had the time of his life, as it made him a Tag Team Champion, but after a while, he started to grow unhappy there, and when Otis & Gable lost the tag titles to Judgment Day at Clash at The Castle, the writing was on the wall, so he decided to come down to NXT to build himself back up, but not under the guidance of a so-called master, this time, by his own merits. Around the same time, Charlie Dempsey (who gets called up from NXT UK after its demise) is in an ongoing feud with up-and-comer Hank Walker, who Gulak takes under his wing to try and mold him into a polished technical wrestler. Hank says that thanks to Drew Gulak, he's ready to show just how much better he's gotten. Charlie Dempsey says that it doesn't matter what Hank has been tough, he's going to be made an example of at New Year's Evil. Dempsey scores the win with his modified STF. After the match, Dempsey continues to have the hold locked in, but Drew Gulak doesn't step into the ring to force Dempsey to break the hold. When Dempsey does break the hold, Gulak gets up on the apron to stare off with Dempsey, only for Gulak to lower the middle rope of the ring for Dempsey, and for Gulak and Dempsey to leave together, turning Gulak heel, and forming a new partnership with 2 technical workhorses.)
NXT North American Championship
Wes Lee (C) vs Tony D'Angelo w/Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo
(On the 11/22/2022 episode of NXT, Wes Lee blows off his feud with his former tag team partner Nash Carter in a Last Man Standing Match, however, after the match, EC3 makes a shocking return to NXT and attacks Wes Lee, making it clear he has his eyes on Wes Lee and his North American Championship. This attack writes Wes off TV for a few weeks. 2 weeks after EC3's attack (he competes in 2 squash match victories during this time), Tony D'Angelo and Stacks confront EC3 in the parking lot, with Tony D saying he appreciates EC3 softening up Wes Lee last week, and a while back, EC3 used to be a big deal around these parts, and he's always had a good relationship with the authorities, but between him and EC3, before this hits the sights, he's gonna see to it that Wes Lee's days as North American Champion are numbered. Tony D then asks EC3 if they have an understanding, which EC3 responds by saying "something like that". The week after that, Tony D'Angelo scores a quick win over Xyon Quinn, when Wes Lee interrupts him, saying that he received word that Tony D wants his North American Championship, so he came out here face to face to let him know that he'll have his eye on The Don too, but he's gonna have to wait, because there's a certain Essential Character he need to take care off. Tony D claps back, saying that he's pretty insulted that Wes thinks he would wait in any line, he doesn't care about any business he has with EC3, sure EC3 plays by a different set of rules, good for him, he doesn't care, so Wes and EC3's business is gonna have to wait for some other time, because he wants a shot at the NXT North American Championship at New Year's Evil. Wes Lee accepts, but before he can finish, EC3 appears on the titantron, saying that D'Angelo is right, he does play by a different set of rules, he tells it how it is, because D'Angelo is a scumbag from the streets, but if he jumps the cue again, he's gonna have to go clean up those streets, and Wes Lee, when he hit him with The One Percenter, he thought Wes would retreat into a hole and never come out, so his advice to him, keep his name out of his mouth, because he has a very special way of dealing with repeat offenders who try to stop him on his mission to control the narrative of NXT. Wes wins after EC3 runs down to take out Stacks at ringside which distracts Tony D long enough to get hit with The Cardiac Kick from Wes Lee, allowing The Cardiac Kid to retain the North American Championship.)
NXT Women's Championship
Roxanne Perez (C) vs Piper Niven (By Disqualification)
(On the NXT after Deadline, new NXT Women's Champion Roxanne Perez does a sit down interview with her mentor, Booker T. Roxanne says that Deadline was a mix of emotions for her, for the most part, she was overwhelmed, she honestly didn't really expect for it to happen, but she pulled it off, it was the culmination of a 5 year journey for her from the start of her wrestling training. The following week, as she cuts a promo in front of the NXT crowd, she's interrupted by Piper Niven, the bodyguard of the former NXT Champion Gigi Dolin. Piper says that because of Roxanne, she hasn't been able to get a hold of Gigi for well over a week, it's all Roxanne's fault, she took away what was most precious to Gigi, so she's gonna take that exact thing from Roxanne, but this time, it's for herself. Roxanne says she accepts Piper's challenge, she's been proving people wrong her whole life, Piper won't be any different. Gigi Dolin returns at the end of the match and attacks Roxanne, laying her out with the Gigi Driver, causing a DQ, which Piper doesn't look happy about.)
NXT Championship - Imperium are banned from ringside
GUNTHER (C) vs Bron Breakker
(After getting past Apollo Crews at Deadline, GUNTHER moves on to his next challenger, the inaugural Iron Survivor Challenge winner, Bron Breakker. Breakker says that when NXT rebooted 2 years ago, there was a tournament to crown the new NXT Champion, he went undefeated in his block, he said it was going to be a changing of the guard when he became NXT Champion at Halloween Havoc 2021, but he lost in the finals, he lost to the old guard, and every day since that loss, he's been trying to get back to the top, to become NXT Champion, so NXT can officially embark on a new era, and at New Year's Evil, this time, that new era will officially begin. GUNTHER says that in a way, Bron Breakker is just like him, he cares about the NXT Championship and what it stands for, it stands for being the best in NXT, and 15 months ago at Halloween Havoc 2021, he came close to proving he is the best in this great sport, but he drowned in inexperience, which to even get to that point with so little matches on your resumé is a disgrace in this great sport, but now Bron has that experience, but it isn't going to be enough to topple Der Ring General, because Bron won't stop his continued mission of showing that The Mat is Sacred. In the leadup, Breakker defeats both Ludwig Kaiser & Giovani Vinci in a handicap match to get them banned from ringside. This match is a war, as WALTER throws everything he has at Bron Breakker, The Powerbomb, The Lariat, The Frog Splash, The Knife Edge Chops, The Sleeper, The Last Symphony, but it's not enough to keep Bron Breakker down, who overcomes adversity and counters a Lariat from GUNTHER into a Spear, before locking in The Steiner Recliner and making GUNTHER tap out to become the new NXT Champion, ending GUNTHER's reign at 282 days, the 3rd longest reign in the title's history. This is WALTER's final NXT match, as he departs for the main roster a few weeks later.)

Lights Out Match
Bray Wyatt vs Dijak
(On the Smackdown after Extreme Rules, Bray Wyatt adreeses his return after 18 months away due to injury. Bray says that he's grateful to be back, he never knew if he'd get the chance to come back, and this, this is just him, this is a version of him that the fans have never gotten to see before, he's being genuine for the first time, because while he was away, he lost his self confidence, he lost 2 people who were very close to him, and he lost his way, and he got to a point where everything he had ever done was all meaningless, nothing he's ever done has mattered to anyone, but he was wrong, once he was done feeling sorry for himself and decided to go out in the world again, he'd see people everywhere who'd say "thank you Bray for everything man, when are you coming back?" and these people, they would come to him and say "Bray, I just wanted to thank you man, because I was in a time of need, and I lost people that were close to me, and I lost people that were close to me, and I lost my self-confidence, and I felt week, and I felt vulnerable, and in this weak state, I found your words Bray, and I just wanted to thank you man, you saved my life Bray". Before the promo is over, Bray is cut off by an unknown man on the titantron, this man wearing a hat and a mask similar to the one Ethan Hawke wore in The Black Phone, a man who says that Bray has no idea who he's dealing with, this, is Uncle Howdy. Over the next several weeks, Bray cuts promos, with Uncle Howdy playing mind games on him. On the Smackdown after Survivor Series, Dijak is cutting a promo about his loss to Seth Rollins at Survivor Series: War Games, when he's interrupted by Bray Wyatt. Bray says he understands Dijak more than he thinks he does, Dijak is very much like him, Dijak is someone who has confused fear with respect with this justice he claims to serve, Dijak is someone who hurts because he hurts and needs to be healed. Dijak says that his business isn't Bray's business, where he needs to go is back to that little playroom with his puppets and stick them straight up his a$$. Dijak then slaps Bray, before being attacked backstage by an unknown assailant who is later revealed to be Uncle Howdy later that night. This begins a feud between Bray and Dijak, with Bray challenging Dijak to a Lights Out match at The Royal Rumble (the stipulation is the same one that Tiffany Stratton and Wendy Choo had when they faced each other back in August where the lights are dark but with a purple tint, not the AEW version). Dijak accepts, saying that he'd offer Bray a plea bargon where he'd just to hand him the victory, but Bray is too stupid to see that justice will be served upon him at the Royal Rumble. The match is a back and forth affair, with Bray winning after smashing a lanturn over Dijak's head and then hitting him with a Sister Abigal. After the match, Uncle Howdy makes his alliance with Bray Wyatt official by laying out Dijak with a Sister Abigal of his own.)
Raw Women's Championship
Rhea Ripley (C) w/Judgment Day vs Nikki Cross
(Following the events of TLC, Rhea Ripley now fully sets her sights back on Nikki Cross as her next challenger for the Raw Women's Championship. Rhea says that this was her plan along, she wants to find the best competition possible for her Raw Women's title, so she psychologically broke that naive Nikki Cross she was in a tag team with a year ago and unleashed that psycho that has been locked in there for all these years, but now that she's got Nikki at her best, Nikki is still going to be in for a rough night, because she is just that damn good. Nikki says that Rhea was right, she was still looking out for her because now, she's weaponised, and unleashing this side of her she hasn't seen in years, she's signed her death certificate, because that Raw Women's Championship is leaving in her clutches at The Royal Rumble. Rhea scores the win with an Avalanche Riptide on Cross. After the match, Edge's music hits and he comes out armed with a Steel Chair to brawl with Judgment Day. This distracts Rhea, who then turns around into a Spear from a returning Beth Phoenix, with Edge & Beth standing tall over Judgment Day.)
Smackdown Women's Championship
Liv Morgan (C) vs Sarah Logan w/The Viking Raiders
(After her betrayal of her longtime best friend Liv Morgan, On the Smackdown after Sarah Logan (now sporting her much more intimidating Valhalla look, only she isn't called Valhalla) explains her actions for turning on Liv. Sarah says that for her entire career in WWE, she's had to play second fiddle to Liv Morgan, and whenever she wasn't, she was cast by the wasteside to wither and die. When she went away on maternity leave and came back, she was in the exact same spot she was in when she left, playing second fiddle to Liv, but she's tired of playing second fiddle, she's taking what she's never had before, the Smackdown Women's Championship, and she's gonna do whatever it takes to get that Smackdown Women's Championship, even if it means sending Liv to Valhalla. Liv then comes out and gets into a brawl with Sarah, leading to officials coming down to break it up, and Adam Pearce making a Smackdown Women's Championship Match between the 2 for the Rumble. Liv says that if Sarah wanted a Smackdown Women's title shot, all she had to do was ask, this wasn't worth throwing away their 6-year friendship over, but she gets why Sarah turned on her, she wants the spotlight, she couldn't handle the fact that she was never the center of attention, Sarah had to leech on to her if she wanted any hope of getting any attention, but she wasn't getting any, and now she wants to talk about sending her to Valhalla, well guess what, at The Rumble, that's not where she's sending Sarah, she's gonna send Sarah straight to the depths of Niflheim. Liv scores the win with the Ob-Liv-ion after an all out war.)
WWE Championship
Karrion Kross (C) w/Scarlett vs Bobby Lashley
(Bobby Lashley wins a Triple Threat Match over Finn Balor and Braun Strowman after a surprise help from MVP and The Hurt Business' enforcer Omos to secure himself a WWE Championship Match against Karrion Kross at the Royal Rumble. Lashley says that Kross may like to consider himself Doomsday, and he may go by The Almighty, but before he returned to WWE 5 years ago, there was another nickname he went by, Walking Armageddon, when he used that nickname, he racked up multiple TNA World Championships, because he was unstoppable, and at The Royal Rumble, Walking Armageddon returns to cause the conclusive ending to Karrion Kross' WWE title reign as he becomes a 2-time WWE Champion. Kross says that Lashley is an incredible physical specimen, he was one of the most dominant WWE Champions in recent memory, but there's just someone that is more dominant, someone who hasn't been defeated in their entire 3 year career in WWE, and that someone, is him, and just like everyone else he's stepped in the ring with, Bobby Lashley, at The Royal Rumble, you will pay the toll, tick tock. Earlier on in the show, Bobby Lashley is confronted by MVP backstage. MVP says to Bobby that yes, things did end on bad terms between there, but he's trying to mend fences, he's always gonna have a soft spot for Lashley and still wants to see him succeed even if he's no longer in The Hurt Business, that's why he helped Bobby win the #1 contenders match, because now, Bobby gets to reclaim what he should've never lost, the WWE Championship. Lashley tells MVP thank you for lookin' out for him, but he walks alone now. All of this happens whist Carmelo Hayes is eavesdropping on them. As for the match, a ref bump occurs when Kross accidentally hits the referee with The Kross Hammer, which Lashley capitalises on with a Spear. MVP then comes down and hands Bobby Lashley his cane to use as a weapon. Bobby gives it back to MVP because he doesn't want to win that away. This distracts Bobby, as it allows Carmelo Hayes to sneak into the ring and low blow The Almighty, followed up with Nothin' But Net, which MVP looks confused as to why Melo is out here. This gives Kross enough time to recover and hit The Kross Hammer on Lashley for the win.)

World Heavyweight Championship
Roman Reigns (C) w/Paul Heyman & Sami Zayn vs Kevin Owens
(On the Smackdown after TLC, The Bloodline (except for Roman who takes a break for a few weeks) begin a hostile takeover, taking out whoever backstage, demanding they get Kevin Owens' attention, which eventually leads to a tag team main event between Kevin Owens & Seth Rollins vs The Usos. Roman Reigns returns on the first Smackdown of 2023, where Roman says that some say he & Sami lost, which is something he doesn't understand because The Tribal Chief don't lose. it's not in his DNA, so he had to think on it, but he didn't lose, Sami lost, Sami was the one who was thrown off the ladder by Kevin Owens, so he didn't lose, he doesn't really care about that, he's moving forward from that, but what's confusing to him, this is where he just can't figure it out, why did Sami call his shot, why did Sami guarantee a win, why did he do that? That's his job, he calls his shot, The Tribal Chief calls his shot, and guess what, The Tribal Chief always delivers and there's never a problem, you see, it's embarrassing when Sami calls his shot, because look at him, he's like Babe Ruth, he always delivers, but then Sami fails to deliver so that's what he doesn't understand and keeps asking himself, does Sami want to be The Tribal Chief? Why is Sami doing things like him? Does Sami want to be like him? Does Sami want to do what he does? Does Sami think he can do things better than he can? Because in his position at the top he always has to be concerned and think about these things, he always has to keep eyes in the back of his head, why does Sami think he can do what The Tribal Chief does, does Sami want to be him? Does Sami want to be The Tribal Chief? DOES SAMI THINK HE'S HIM!? DOES SAMI WANT TO RUN THE BLOODLINE? Before Roman can finish, Kevin Owens interrupts, saying that for weeks, Roman has misdirected anger, he's always so calm, cool, and collected, he can't remember the last time he saw Roman like this, except for the time when he was the cause of it, because it's not Sami, Roman's problem is him, Roman's been saying for weeks that he has a KO problem, and now thanks to his victory at TLC, Roman has a chance to take care of that KO problem, but he's not gonna get it done, because he will leave San Antonio a 2-time World Heavyweight Champion, and when Sami will dig his balls out from out of Roman's pocket. Roman responds to KO, saying yeah, sure, whatever, he doesn't care about KO, the only thing he cares about is for KO to disappear, leave, go away forever. Later that night, Roman asks Sami into his room, where Sami apologises to Roman, but Roman doesn't accept Sami's apology, because he's the one who should apologises for the way he spoke to Sami, KO was right, he's made at him, and he's taking it out on Sami, and that's not right, because they're gonna fix it, because next week, he's set up Sami for a 1-on-1 match against Kevin Owens. Roman & Sami then watch Solo Sikoa's main event match against Sheamus, where we are treated to a memeworthy sight of Roman, Sami, and Paul Heyman eating popcorn as Solo defeats Sheamus. The following week, Sami (who still has the Money in the Bank briefcase btw, hope you haven't forgotten) turns up to Smackdown, and runs into Paul Heyman, who informs Sami that no other Bloodline member is here tonight other than him, because Roman wants to show he doesn't doubt Sami, he wouldn't be showing Sami any love if he didn't let him do it by himself. Sami then tells Heyman to let Roman know that he made the right call, he will handle this, he will solve this problem tonight. Sami has his match in the main event against KO, but it ends in a DQ when The Usos and Solo Sikoa turn up to attack KO when KO is about to win with a Stunner. Sami isn't happy that The Usos & Solo showed up. The following week, Roman shows up to Smackdown to sign the contract for his match against KO at the Rumble, but when Sami greets him in the parking lot and offers a fist bump, Roman gives him the cold shoulder. Later in the show, Sami confronts Roman backstage, where Sami asks Roman if everything is good between them. Roman responds, saying he saw how Sami was out there last week, and he's trying to cover everything up, so he asks for the truth. Sami says everything is fine, but Roman doesn't believe Sami. Sami says he was disappointed last week, he felt a big privilege given to him by Roman to handle this Kevin Owens problem, and he takes a lot of pride in that, and he didn't know The Usos & Solo were going to be out there, and he feels slighted about it, and not only that, Kevin Owens constantly says he's being used. After Sami says that, Roman tells Sami to get out, he doesn't want to have to do this tonight. This leads Roman to call for a Tribal Court for the Special 30th Anniversary of Raw, where on the same night, The Usos will defend their Smackdown Tag Team Titles against The Street Profits in a special interbrand match. During the Tribal Court, Paul Heyman, who is the prosecutor for it, says that Smai is a judas, Sami is the betrayer of the island of relevancy, he is a conspiracist who has been in a conspiracy with Kevin Owens since day 1, Sami has been leading them on to feel good about themselves, to feel good about how much he belongs in The Bloodline. Heyman continues, saying he has exhibits A, B, C, D, he went down all the way to L, M, N, O, P, but he can stop with 4 examples that demonstrate that Sami Zayn is guilty as charged, exhibit A, back during the leadup to Clash at The Castle, old sword-a$$ Drew McIntyre attacked The Usos backstage, whilst Sami retreats like the gutless coward that he is. Exhibit B, during a match against Kevin Owens that Jey Uso had in September, Sami had his chance to show his loyalty, but he didn't, because he refused to give Jey a chair to use, that is a conspiracy. Exhibit C, after The Bloodline's victory in Wargames, is he with The Bloodline? Is he sitting there and saying thank you so much for the opportunity? No, he's on top of the cage for his individual glory. And finally, exhibit D, on the Smackdown before TLC, Sami bumps into Roman while cutting his promo, and it's the old high school hallway shoulder block, that's assault on The Tribal Chief, that was an assassination attempt on The Tribal Chief, so this rat bastard could become The Head of The Table, that was blatant, that was assault. Roman then gives Sami a chance to defend himself, but Sami says he has no defense. Roman is angered by this, and orders Solo Sikoa to Samoan Spike Sami, but before Solo can hit it on Sami, Jey Uso stops his younger brother. Jey says that he put together his own defense for Sami, exhibit A, back at Hell in a Cell, Sami played Roman's music to help Jimmy & him retain the Smackdown Tag Titles over EC3 & Shinsuke Nakamura. Exhibit B, taking a chair shot from Drew McIntyre for The Tribal Cheif in the leadup to Clash at The Castle, exhibit C, throwing himself in front of a Brogue Kick from Sheamus at Payback to ensure The Bloodline retained their gold. Exhibit D, helping The Usos retain over Hit Row back at Summerslam by holding Ashante "Thee" Adonis' leg and preventing him from breaking up the pin, and exhibit E, stopping the ref from counting 3 in Wargames and low-blowing Kevin Owens. Jey says that Sami taken so many bullets for him, for Roman, for the whole Bloodline, and everyone knows for a long time, he did not trust Sami, he despised Sami, but what he did, he saw the good in him the whole time and never gave up on him, and guess what, that right there, that's what family does, because loves Sami Zayn like a brother. Roman then gives his verdict, and says that Sami Zayn is not guilty, for now, but he tells Sami to go home, because after tonight, he doesn't want to see Sami on TV again until at he Rumble, where he will deliver his final test. Later that night, The Usos defend their Smackdown Tag Team Championships against The Street Profits, where in the match, Jimmy Uso suffers a kayfabe injury that leads to Raw GM Sonya Deville coming down and stopping the match, but Sami begs Sonya to restart the match, only for him to take Jimmy's place and defend the tag titles on his behalf, which Sonya agrees to do. Sami & Jey then go on to win that match. On the go-home Smackdown before The Rumble, The Usos attack Kevin Owens before his match against Solo Sikoa later that night, only for Adam Pearce to eject them from the building, but before they leave, Jey calls someone on the phone and asks if they're still in town, because he needs a favor. That someone turns out to be Sami Zayn, who attacks KO and causes a DQ, with Sami & Solo beating down KO, until Solo accidentally Superkicks Sami, which gives KO the upper hand, who lays out Solo and hits him with a Frog Splash through the announce table, but KO doesn't lay a finger on Sami. On the Rumble pre-show, Roman tells Sami he's disappointed, he gives him 1 instruction and he can't follow it. Jey comes to Sami's defense, saying Adam Pearce kicked him and Jimmy out last night, Solo had a match, Roman was on The Tonight Show so he couldn't get a hold of him, so he had to call Sami, and he answered the call for The Bloodline, he was there for The Family. Roman says he understands, but that's now in the past, let's focus on tonight, he wants The Usos and Solo to stay in the back, but he wants Sami by his side the whole night, he doesn't want Sami out of his sight for a second. As for the actual math between Roman and KO, it features a bunch of near falls, but after a ref bump and another near fall by KO, things take a turn for the worst for him, because Roman absolutely smothers him, Spearing him through the barricade, before hitting 1 more definitive Spear for the win. After the match, The Usos & Solo Sikoa come out. As Jey attemptes to adorn Zayn with the tribal garland, Roman intervened and the Bloodline then delivered a beatdown to Owens, with The Usos and Sikoa doing the damage while Sami watches. Paul Heyman handed two pairs of handcuffs to Reigns and The Usos handcuff KO to the ring ropes. The Usos then hit a barrage of Superkicks on KO. RomanReigns then attempts to strike a battered Kevin Owens with a chair, but Sami Zayn intervenes, and tells The Tribal Chief that KO has had enough, and such a savage attack is beneath him. Roman then hands the chair to Sami, instructing him to strike Kevin to prove his loyalty to The Bloodline. Sami hesitates, and Roman begins to berate The Honorary Uce, pointing out how much Reigns and The Bloodline have done for Zayn in elevating his career. A conflicted Sami Zayn then finally attacks Roman Reigns with the chair, which prompts the entire Bloodline (except Jey, who is very emotionally conflicted by what he has just witnessed) to beat down Zayn. Jey then leaves the ring, and Sami is removed from the Bloodline, turning Zayn face in the process for the first time in over 5 year. Roman, Jimmy, Solo, and Heyman then head up the entrance ramp while KO & Sami are laid out in the ring as the show goes off the air.)

NXT Vengeance Day 2023
Date: February 4th, 2023
Location: Spectrum Center, Charlotte, North Carolina
Card
NXT North American Championship
Wes Lee (C) vs EC3
(EC3 defeats Tony D’Angelo to become the #1 contender to the NXT North American Championship. Wes Lee says he has the biggest challenge in front of him yet in EC3, he’s back in NXT and he’s claiming to be controlling narratives but ultimately, EC3 just wants what’s shining on his shoulder, and he knows this is gonna be tough, he knows he’s probably gonna take an a$$whooping, but just like he did with Tony and Nash, The Cardiac Kid will rise as your NXT North American Champion. EC3 says he wants Wes Lee to soak it all in, enjoy his final days as NXT North American Champion, enjoy the final days of control that he has over his narrative, because he is The Essential Character for a reason, and he’s going to rip that NXT North American Championship away from Wes Lee.)
Triple Threat Ladder Match to crown the #1 contender to the NXT Championship
Apollo Crews vs Grayson Waller vs Nash Carter
(After New Year’s Evil, Apollo Crews renews his feud with Grayson Waller after both men eliminate each other from a #1 contenders battle royal, with both men wanting a shot at Bron Breakker’s NXT Championship. Nash Carter gets involved when he interrupts a promo between the 2, saying that if anyone should be next in line for the NXT Championship, it should be one of the few men who has actually defeated Bron Breakker, not some main roster washout and Aussie Miz wannabe. A 3-way brawl then breaks out between the 3, which leads to Shawn Michaels making a Triple Threat Ladder Match between the 3 for Vengeance Day. Apollo says that even though he came up short back at Deadline against WALTER, he hasn’t lost track of his goal to become NXT Champion, he becomes 1 step closer to making that happen at Vengeance Day. Waller says that for 18 months, he’s been the main attraction of this brand, but it’s continued to dwindle because NXT’s top star doesn’t have the NXT title, but it’s time that changes come Vengeance Day. Crews comes close to winning the match, until Commander Azeez (now under the new name of Dabba Kato) makes a shocking return and pushes his former tag partner Apollo Crews off the ladder. This gives Grayson Waller enough time to recover, climb the ladder, and unhook the contract to become #1 contender to the NXT Championship.)
Fatal 4-Way Tag Team Match for the NXT Tag Team Championship
The New Day (C) vs Pretty Deadly vs Gallus w/Joe Coffey vs Grizzled Young Veterans w/Ava Raine
(After losing the NXT Tag Team Championships to The New Day at Deadline, Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods force Pretty Deadly to jump through several hoops to try and get a rematch, such as forcing them to pledge their allegiance to the star-spangled banner, buying The New Day all the items on their big shopping list for Christmas, which they both fail to do. Pretty Deadly get sick of this and request to Shawn Michaels that he give the 2 tastiest snacks in NXT a rematch for what’s rightfully there’s, the NXT Tag Team Championships. Michaels says that Pretty Deadly will have to earn it, which is why they will compete in a Gauntlet Match to become #1 contenders. Prince & Wilson get past Edris Enofe & Malik Blade, Chase-U, and Josh Briggs & Brooks Jensen to seemingly become #1 contenders, before The New Day come out and reveal that they talked to Shawn Michaels, and Pretty Deadly will have to face 1 more tag-team if they want to become #1 contenders. That tag team is revealed to be none other than the returning Gallus, who run right through Pretty Deadly to become #1 contenders to the NXT Tag Team Championships. Pretty Deadly are furious with this, and request to Shawn Michaels that he give them 1 more chance to qualify, which Shawn agrees to do, putting Pretty Deadly in a last-chance Triple Threat Tag Team Match against Grizzled Young Veterans and Edris Enofe & Malik Blade. That match ends in a double pin when both Elton Prince and Zack Gibson pin Edris Enofe at the same time, leading to them both getting added to the match. Gallus say that they’re back because The New Day and Pretty Deadly have made a joke of this tag division, and it’s time to fix it, with The Gallus Boys on top. Pretty Deadly say that they’ve had to jump through hoop after hoop for well over a month because of The New Day, but the injustice against them finally ends at Vengeance Day. GYV say that it has been 4 long years since Liverpool’s #1 tag team has had tag team gold, but that all changes when the GRIZZLED! YOUNG! VETERNAS! Soon to be recognised as the #1 tag team in the world, become NXT Tag Team Champions at Vengeance Day.)
Triple Threat Match for the NXT Women’s Championship
Roxanne Perez (C) vs Gigi Dolin vs Piper Niven
(After the events of New Year’s Evil, Shawn Michales makes a Triple Threat Match for the NXT Women’s Championship between Roxanne Perez, Gigi Dolin, and Piper Niven. Throughout the build, Gigi & Piper are seemingly on the same page, only it’s very clear to everyone that they’re having a falling out as they take jabs at each other, with Piper saying that everyone has watched her carry Gigi’s a$$ for the past year and a half, she’s the only reason Gigi ever got to experience any t-shirt sales, championship victories, because if it wasn’t for her, Gigi would be a Youtube sensation 1 hit wonder living on the indies. Gigi says to Piper that what she loves about her the most, the external confidence she has whenever she’s on camera, but what everyone doesn’t know is behind the curtains, Piper is the most insecure person because she constantly has to puke in a bucket before every match. This is supposedly all a ruse when they get back on the same page and lay out Roxanne Perez. Roxanne says that Gigi & Pipe may act like they’re still best friends, but she knows there is a lot of truth of what they said to each other. Piper says that Roxanne had a great run in her first 8 months in NXT, but she peaked at just 21, because her 15 minutes of fame are up. Gigi Dolin says that she will course correct the mistake that happened at Deadline when she becomes a 2-time NXT Women’s Champion.)
NXT Championship
Bron Breakker (C) vs A-Kid
(Face vs face. A-Kid wins a #1 contenders battle royal to secure himself an NXT Championship match against Bron Breakker at Vengeance Day. A-Kid says that no one was happier than him in that NXT locker room to see Bron Breakker do what so many have failed to do, defeat WALTER and become NXT Champion, but this isn’t about Bron, it’s about him, he’s shown he can be a fighting champion in the past, but that was with the Heritage Cup, he needs to show that he has what it takes to do the same with the NXT Championship, which he’s going to do everything in his power to ensure that the NXT Championship will be around his waist come Vengeance Day. Bron says that ever since NXT was rebooted, he was the one chosen to be the torchbearer for the next generation of NXT talent, and he finally fulfilled that at New Year’s Evil when he made WALTER tap out to become NXT Champion, but now that he’s here, he needs to prove why he was the chosen one, to prove why he’s the face of NXT, to prove why he’s deserving to be NXT Champion, and if it’s at A-Kid’s expense, then so be it. Breakker wins after countering The Golden Ratio into a Spear. After the match, Bron turns around and is hit by a Rolling Stunner from his Stand & Deliver opponent, Grayson Waller, who hoists up the NXT Championship over Breakker's prone body)

The Good Brothers say that they came back to WWE to become champions once again, they complete their goal at Elimination Chamber. Liv Morgan requests to Adam Pearce that she has a warmup defense before Wrestlemania because there is 1 thing she has yet to accomplish, win the Elimination Chamber, so she wants to defend her Smackdown Women’s title inside the Elimination Chamber. (After his return at the Rumble, Samoa Joe heads straight for La Faccion De Zelina. After losing an Elimination Chamber qualifyer to Dominik Mysterio, Samoa Joe challenges Los Lotharios to a handicap Street Fight at Elimination Chamber, saying that this all started with Los Lotharios, so it ends when he puts Angel and Humberto’s asses to sleep. Zelina says that Joe has been a cockroach for far too long, no matter how many times they get rid of him, he keeps on coming back, but at Elimination Chamber, Los Lotharios get rid of him permanently. Samoe Joe scores the win making Humberto Carillo tap out to the Coquina Clutch to end the feud. Zelina Vega has a look of disappointment on her face after the match.)
Sheamus vs GUNTHER
(After his impressive performance in the Royal Rumble, GUNTHER and the rest of Imperium officially make their main roster debut on the Smackdown after the Royal Rumble, where GUNTHER squashes an enhancement talent. After the squash win, Der Ring General is confronted by Sheamus, who challenges GUNTHER to a match at Elimination Chamber. Sheamus says that it’s been years since he’s seen someone possess the same physical qualities as himself, and when he went toe to toe with GUNTHER in the Royal Rumble, and he sees it in WALTER, and it reminds him of himself, and just like him, GUNTHER loves to go to war in this ring, and he wants to challenge himself, so he challenges GUNTHER to a match at Elimination Chamber. GUNTHER accepts, saying Sheamus is a man to be respected, but he is nothing compared to Der Ring General, he is the man who set the record for the longest time in the Royal Rumble, he is the protector of The Sacred Mat, he is going to teach Sheamus what violence really is when he chops Sheamus’ chest into bloody bits, when he breaks Sheamus’ body, when he breaks Sheamus’ spirit, when he breaks the man who everybody thinks cannot be broken in this great sport when Der Ring General breaks Sheamus. This is the exact same 5-star classic that happened at Clash at The Castle in real life, with GUNTHER winning with a stiff lariat shot.)
Mixed Tag Team Match
Judgment Day (Finn Balor & Rhea Ripley) w/Damian Priest & Joe Gacy vs Edge & Beth Phoenix
(With both Edge and Beth Phoenix having returned at the Royal Rumble, Edge now resumes his with war with the group he created, Judgment Day, when he costs Finn Balor in an Elimination Chamber qualifying match against Braun Strowman. The following week, Edge & Beth Phoenix lay down the challenge for a Mixed Tag Match against Finn Balor & Rhea Ripley, with Edge saying that unlike him & his wife, Judgment Day don’t have each others backs, they’ll drop each other in a heart beat, Priest & Gacy, the night they turned on him, they say they don’t want a leader, now they’re follwing Finn Balor around like 2 giant laprodoodles, Finn’s too busy cosplaying as a dollar store jamiroquai, and Rhea, she’s trying to be menacing and intimidating when she just comes across as an Enchantress wannabe. Finn accepts on Judgment Day’s behalf, saying that he’s noticing a trend, everytime Edge returns, he has his ass handed to him, Randy Orton did it to him, Roman Reigns did to him, and now, Judgment Day are the ones who get to it, and if Edge doesn’t like it, he can do exactly what he did at TLC, quit. Rhea scores the win for Judgment Day with a Riptide on Beth Phoenix)
Tournament Finals to determine who will challenge for the Raw Women’s Championship at Wrestlemania 39
Bianca Belair vs Charlotte Flair w/Bayley
(With Asuka making it clear her intentions are to go to Smackdown to challenge Liv Morgan for the Smackdown Women’s Championship, Raw GM Sonya Deville sets up a #1 contenders tournament to determine who will challenge Rhea Ripley for the Raw Women’s Championship at Wrestlemania 39. On the Raw after the Royal Rumble, Bayley confronts Charlotte Flair backstage, saying that she knows that for most of their careers, they've never seen eye to eye, but there's always been 1 thing that has bonded them, they're horsewomen, and a lot has changed since Charlotte has been gone, she had to learn that the hard way, so if Charlotte needs anyone to watch her back, she knows where to find her. Later that night, Charlotte makes her allegiance with Bayley official when she helps Bayley win her first rounds matchup against Nikki Cross. As for the rest of the tournament, it's Charlotte Flair and Bianca Belair who make it to the finals, with The Queen defeating Mia Yim and Raquel Gonzalez to make it to the finals, whilst The EST defeats Shayna Baszler and Bayley to make it to the finals. Charlotte says that she has spent almost a year thinking about her embarrassment she suffered at the hands of Bianca Belair a Wrestlemania 38, but now, she finally gets her chance at revenge, and once she's done with that 1 trick pony, she gets to go to Wrestlemania 39 and defeat Rhea Ripley where she will become a 6-time Women's Champion. Bianca says that just like how Charlotte can't stop thinking about her loss at Wrestlemania 38, she can't stop replaying her loss to Rhea Ripley at Summerslam, and now, she's just 1 win away from earning a chance at revenge, and all that stands in her way, is Charlotte, and she is not going to come up short. On the go-home Smackdown before Elimination Chamber, Bayley & Charlotte make a surprise appearance and attack Damage CTRL during the Last Chance Triple Threat Qualifier between Liv Morgan, Becky Lynch, and Blair Davenport, preventing Damage CTRL from assisting Davenport. Damage CTRL return the favor and attack Bayley during the match, which distracts Charlotte and allows Bianca to hit 2 K.O.D's for the win, setting up a showdown with Rhea Ripley at Wrestlemania 39.)
Triple Threat Match for the WWE United States Championship
Austin Theory (C) vs Johnny Gargano vs Bronson Reed
(Johnny Gargano defeats Elias and Chad Gable in a Triple Threat Match to secure himself a US title match against his former stablemate from The Way, Austin Theory. Theory says that once upon a time, he looked up to Johnny Gargano, Johnny was a father-figure for him, but since he showed up on the main roster, he has far outgrown and become superior to Johnny in every single way, because yeah, Johnny may be a decorated singles wrestler when he was in NXT, but that’s in the past, where living in The Now, where Johnny can’t lace his boots, and at Elimination Chamber, “Johnny Wrestling” gets to experience Austin Theory Live, because he’s going down, A-Town Down. Gargano says that Theory was like a son to him, but now he’s become some arrogant punk who took every opportunity handed to him and threw it back in his face, just like he did with The Miz, so yeah, he may have finally found some self-confidence now that he’s United States Champion, and he’ll give credit where credit is due, he did that all by himself, by that doesn’t mean Theory needs to be taught a lesson in respect, which is exactly what’s gonna happen to him when he loses the United States Championship at Elimination Chamber. Bronson Reed gets added to the match on the go-home episode of Raw after pinning Johnny Gargano in a tag match and attacking Austin Theory after the match. Reed says that he may have came up short back at Survivor Series, but his mission to become United States Champion hasn’t stopped, because now, it’s completed at Elimination Chamber, because he isn’t gonna kneel to 2 punks like Gargano and Theory. In the closing moments of the match, Johnny Gargano nails Bronson Reed with One Final Beat, and prepares to hit The Coalossal with a Superkick, only for NXT’s Grayson Waller (this isn’t a call up for Waller, it’s just for a Wrestlemania program) to run down and hit Johnny Gargano with a Rolling Thunder Stunner. Reed gets back to his feet, climbs to the top rope, and hits a Tsunami on Johnny Gargano for the win, becoming the new United States Champion, ending Theory’s reign at 167-day reign.)
WWE Intercontinental Championship - Hit Row is banned from ringside
Swerve Strickland (C) vs Seth Rollins
(Seth Rollins wins a Fatal 4-Way Mach over Rey Mysterio, Santos Escobar, and LA Knight to secure a rematch against Swerve Strickland. Swerve says that back at TLC, Seth tried to outshine him, and failed, Seth tried to outclass him, and failed, Seth tried to do what no one has done and defeat him for the Intercontinental Championship, and what did he do, he failed, just like Rollins did in the Royal Rumble when Logan Paul threw his ass over the top rope, and now he’s been blessed with a second chance, a second chance he isn’t taking seriously because he’s too busy worrying about Logan Paul than he is The Mogul, but unlike their Ladder Match back at TLC, there’s a lot more at stake this time, because if he makes it past Eliminatoin Chamber, he will hit 1 full year as Intercontinental Champion, and his path to becoming the longest reigning Intercontinental Champion of the 21st century is almost complete, and he’s gonna fire every bullet in the chamber at Seth to reach 1 full year. Seth says that just like Logan Paul, Swerve is selfish, souless, all he cares about is lining his own pockets, and he doesn’t care whose expense it’s at, and there’s nothing more than he wants than to cave Swerve’s head in and become a 3-time Intercontinental Champion at Elimination Chamber. In the leadup, Seth Rollins wins a handicap match over Top Dolla & Ashante “Thee” Adonis to get Hit Row banned from ringside. The closing moments of the match see’s Seth line Swerve up for The Curb Stomp, only for Swerve to roll out of the way and send The Visionary into the referee. Swerve then attempts a House Call on Rollins, only for Rollins to move out of the way and hit a pedigree on Swerve. Rollins then prepares to go for The Curb Stomp, only for Logan Paul to run down and hit a Buckshot Lariat on Rollins. This gives Swerve enough time to recover and hit The Swerve Stomp on Rollins to retain, hitting 1 full year as Intercontinental Champion.)
Elimination Chamber Match to determine who will challenge for the WWE Championship at Wrestlemania 39
Keith Lee vs Carmelo Hayes w/Trick Williams & Omos vs Bobby Lashley vs Braun Strowman vs Dominik Mysterio w/Zelina Vega vs Montez Ford w/Angelo Dawkins
(On the Smackdown after the Royal Rumble, Cody Rhodes makes it abundantly clear he will be going after Roman Reigns and the World Heavyweight Championship, Raw GM Sonya Deville (who is now under review by the board of directors due to some questionable decisions as of late) announces that there will be an Elimination Chamber match to determine who will challenge Karrion Kross for the WWE Championship at Wrestlemania 39. Keith Lee defeats The Miz to qualify, Carmelo Hayes defeats Dolph Ziggler to qualify, Bobby Lashley defeats Baron Corbin to qualify, Braun Strowman defeats Finn Balor to qualify after interference by Edge, Dominik Mysterio (under the new alias of Ex-Con Dom after getting kayfabe arrested in December for trying to fight his father Rey Mysterio on Christmas Eve) defeats Samoa Joe after interference by Los Lotharios to qualify, and Montez Ford wins a last chance battle royal to qualify. Earlier in the show, Carmelo Hayes respectfully asks MVP to stay in the back because he doesn’t know where his loyalties lie right now. It all comes down to Keith Lee and Carmelo Hayes. Melo goes for Nothing But Net off the tope off a pod, only for Keith Lee to counter it into a Big Bang Catastrophe. The Limitless One hits one more Big Bang Catastrophe on Melo to secure his ticket to Wrestlemania 39.)
World Heavyweight Championship - Money in the Bank Cash-in
Roman Reigns (C) w/Paul Heyman vs Sami Zayn (MITB Holder)
(On the Smackdown after the Royal Rumble, Roman Reigns addresses the events of the Royal Rumble, saying that he’d rather talk about the winner of the Royal Rumble, Cody Rhodes, someone who actually deserves his attention, but thanks to the fans, they’ve reduced him to talking about the past, so he’s gonna talk about Sami Zayn, but remember, there’s 2 sides to every story, so you’re gonna hear his, and in order to hear his side of the story, let’s go back to Wargames, when he looked Sami dead in his eyes and he told the whole world that he saw everything he needed to see, because that night, he saw greed, he saw the same thing that he ever interacts with in his entire life nowadays, they all say the same thing “Tribal Chief it’s great to see you, what can I do for you?” No, it’s “What can I do for you? Like I haven’t already done enough”, so he does the same thing for Sami Zayn, he gives Sami the opportunity of a lifetime, and all he does is he uses him, his Bloodline, and his Island of Relevancy, no different than everyone else, because all they do is want, they can’t ever give back. Roman is then attacked from behind by Mr. Money in the Bank Sami Zayn, saying Roman is wrong about him, he never wanted anything from Roman until now, because thanks to Roman, he’s now going back on his word, he initially gave Roman his word that he would sit on The Money in the Bank Briefcase for a whole year so no one could cash in on him, no one, except for him, because he’s cashing in his Money in the Bank Briefcase for a World Heavyweight Championship at Elimination Chamber in Montreal. Sami is then attacked from behind by Jimmy Uso & Solo Sikoa, but not Jey, as he is nowhere to be seen. Roman then tells Sami that the fans want Jey, but he can’t give them Jey because Sami broke up his Bloodline, his Right Hand Man isn’t here because of Sami, he gave Sami the key to the kingdom, an invitation to the promise land, and what does he do, how does he repay him? He breaks up his family, so he’s forced to give Sami what he wants, but Sami is gonna give him what he wants, because he’s gonna break Sami in front of all his family and friends in Montreal when he shows them what happens when you mess with the bloodline. The following week, The Usos have a scheduled Smackdown Tag Title Defense against Legado Del Fantasma, but Jey is still a no show before the match, with it looking like Jimmy will have to defend the Smackdown Tag Titles by himself, until Jey Usos shows up through the crowd to defend the Smackdown Tag Titles alongside his brother, which The Usos are victorious. Jey doesn’t stick around after the match and immediately leaves the building, only to be confronted by Sami Zayn in the parking lot. Sami tells Jey he can’t imagine what he’s going through right now, but he knows Roman pretty well, and Jey knows him even better, and he just can’t imagine Roman letting Jey forget what he did at the Royal Rumble, which meant the world to Sami, but they’re just 8 days away from seeing Roman go down, and all he wants to tell Jey is he doesn’t have to go out with the ship, there’s a way out for him, and in case he doesn’t get a chance to talk to Jey again, he just wants to let Jey know that he acknowledges him. On the go-home Smackdown before Elimination Chamber, Sami Zayn receives a heroes welcome in his hometown of Montreal. Sami says that for most people, Wrestlemania is the most important show of the year, but for him, for this city, tommorow Elimination Chamber is the most important show of the year, and at Elimination Chamber, it’s Roman Reigns vs Sami Zayn & the entire city of Montreal. Roman is booed out of the damn country when he makes his entrance. As soon as the match starts, the hometown crowd cheers for Zayn, while viciously booing and hurling insults towards Reigns. Throughout the match, Reigns constantly taunts The Montreal, and Sami Zayn’s wife, who is sitting in the front row. A ref bump eventually occurs after Roman counters a Blue Thunder Bomb from Sami by shoving The Underdog from The Underground into the referee. Zayn then lands a Helluva Kick on The Tribal Chief, but the ref can’t count the 3 due to being incapacitated. Jimmy Uso then runs down and Superkicks Sami before hitting an Uso Splash on Sami. Jimmy then places Roman on Sami with a new ref running down, only for Sami to kick out at 2. Another ref bump occurs when Roman accidentally Superman Punches the ref. Paul Heyman then gives The Head of The Table a chair to use on Sami, only for Jey Uso to show up. Roman lembasts Jey for siding with Sami, before handing Jey a chair to use on Sami, but Jey, still conflicted, refuses to hit Sami with the chair. Sami then attempts to Spear Roman, only for Roman to sidestep out of the way and for Sami to accidentally Spear Jey. Roman then hits Sami with the Chair, before Spearing Sami for a 3rd time to win and retain the World Heavyweight Championship, with Sami becoming the 3rd man to fail a Money in the Bank Cash-in, joining Ryback and Damien Sandow on that unlucky list. After the match, Roman and Jimmy beat down Sami, only for Kevin Owens to return for the first time since the Royal Rumble, who give Roman, Jimmy, and Paul Heyman a Stunner each, with Jimmy also receiving a Pop-Up Powerbomb through the announce table for his troubles. Sami then Helluva Kicks Roman to send the crowd home happy, as Kevin & Sami staredown, before KO leaves the ring without saying a word to close the show.)

NXT Roadblock 2023
Date: March 11th, 2023
Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida
Card
Open Challenge for the NXT North American Championship
Wes Lee (C) vs Nathan Frazer
(After getting past EC3 at Vengeance Day, Wes Lee begins to hold open challenges for the North American Championship, with it being accepted by the likes of Drew Gulak and Charlie Dempsey. On the go home episode of NXT before Roadblock, Wes Lee announces that he will be dong the same open challenge at Roadblock. As Wes waits for someone to answer the challenge, we see a number of superstars brawling backstage for the chance to potentially challenge Wes Lee for the North American Championship, with the brawls spilling out into the arena, until Nathan Frazer makes a surprise return after having been out with injury for almost 5 months and quickly sprints into the ring to successfully answer the open challenge. This is the same match that happened on the 02/28/2023 episode of NXT. This win by Wes Lee catches the eye of new NXT signee Dragon Lee, who is sitting in the crowd watching the show, with Wes confronting Dragon Lee after his win, hoisting up the North American Championship.)
Jailhouse Street Fight
EC3 vs Tony D’Angelo w/Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo
(Following EC3’s unsuccessful attempt at dethroning Wes Lee, he resumes his feud with The Don of NXT, Tony D’Angelo. After a win over Joe Coffey in a match on an episode of NXT, Tony D’Angelo hops on the mic and challenges EC3 to a match at Roadblock, saying that Mr, Control Your Narrative and him have been at it for a couple of months now, and he thinks it’s time they put this to an end… in the first ever Jailhouse Street Fight! Because when it’s all said and done, EC3’s narrative will be controlled when he’s locked up iin solitary confinement. EC3 accepts D’Angelo’s challenge, saying that he knew Tony D’Angelo had a big ego, but this time, he doesn’t even know what he’s asking for, but now, after he failed to defeat Wes Lee, D’Angelo is public enemy #1, and by the time he’s done with him, his boy Stacks isn’t gonna be able to recognise him anymore, because Tony D’Angelo is nothing more than a street rat who has no business trying to control his narrative, and at Roadblock, Tony D’Angelo is locked down for good. EC3 comes close to winning, but Stacks throws himself into harms way and prevents EC3 from locking up D’Angelo, giving Tony D enough time to recover and gain the upper hand on EC3, locking him in the shark cage to win the first ever Jailhouse Street Fight. This is EC3's final match in WWE, as his contract expires just a few weeks later.)
Gigi Dolin vs Piper Niven
(On the NXT after Vengeance Day, Gigi Dolin and Piper Niven are scheduled for a tag team match against Kacy Catenzaro (not Katana Chance) & Kayden Carter, when earlier on in the show, Gigi Dolin is attacked backstage by an unknown assailant, with the assailant injuring Gigi’s ribs. This forces Piper Niven to go it alone in what is essentially a 2-on-1 handicap match, until Gigi Dolin runs down with taped up ribs, and completes a hot tag, and runs wild, scoring the win with a Gigi Driver on Carter. After the match, Niven shockingly hits Dolin with a lariat, ending the partnership between her and Gigi, and turning Gigi face. Niven continues to attack Gigi, giving her a Big Boot into the ring post. The following week, Piper explains her actions, saying that last week was the end of her story with Gigi Dolin, and the beginning of her own story, and now, it’s all about her, and the proof is in the big boot she hit Gigi with, because for the past week, she has been the talk of NXT, and for those that keep asking if she regrets stomping Gigi’s head in, the only thing she regrets is she didn’t do it sooner, but what angers her the most, is everyone is saying that Gigi is the victim, you are severly mistaken, because anyone with at least 2 brain cells knows that she was the real victim, because Gigi’s days of doing half the work and taking all the credit are over, because her security blanket is done protecting her. The following week, Piper Niven scores a win over Indi Hartwell, and attacks Indi after the match, only for Gigi Dolin to return for the first time since Piper turned on her, attacking Piper and forcing her former body guard into retreat. The following week, Gigi challenges Piper to a match at Roadblock, saying that 3 weeks ago, her life changed when her skull was crushed against a ring post, but this isn’t the first time she had to deal with big life-altering changes, this isn’t the first time she had her head kicked in by someone she trusted, someone she considered family, she can deal with the physical pain, she can handle the personal betrayal, because Piper trying to boot her head off made her realise who she really is, because Piper has always been about the superficial surface level things, wanting the money, the fame, the glitz, the glamer, that’s all she ever has cared about since day 1, and sure, it was fun being the mean girl for a while, it won her the NXT Women’s Championship, but it was a way for Piper to channel all her insecurities, but it was a way for her to channel her inner demons, because she trusted Piper, she shared everything with Piper, the last person she let betray her the way Piper did was her own Mother, who used her as a punching bag for years until she finally got the courage to run away from home, but she was determined to show her little brother that she could make it to WWE so they could escape the constant cycle of pain and suffering, Piper doesn’t know the 100th of what she’s been through, because she’s been knocked down time and time again, but she’s gotten right back up, so at Roadblock, Piper, bring everything you have, because it’s not gonna be enough, because she will take every once of pain, suffering, and rage built up inside of her, and unleash it all on that ungrateful b*tch. The match is a back and forth affair, but Gigi’s rage backfires on her, as Piper ends up scoring the win with a Viper Bomb.)
Singles Match for the NXT Championship - if Bron Breakker is counted out or disqualified, he will lose the title
Bron Breakker (C) vs Jinder Mahal w/Indus Sher
(After his victory over A-Kid at Vengeance Day, Bron Breakker moves on to the #1 contender, Grayson Waller. Waller, who is also in a feud with Raw’s Johnny Gargano after the events of Elimination Chamber constantly taunts and plays mind games with Bron Breakker, going as far as to cause him to get counted out in a match against Jinder Mahal. After this count out win, Jinder requests to NXT GM Shawn Michaels that he gets to face Bron Breakker again, this time at Roadblock for the NXT Championship, and if Bron is counted out or disqualified, he loses the title, which Shawn agrees to. Jinder says that this may sound surprising to some, but he admires the fact that ever since NXT was rebooted, he admires the fact that Bron Breakker has carried NXT on his back, he is NXT, he is the entire brand, but he see’s the weight that he carries on his shoulder, and he’s seeing that it’s becoming too much to handle, he’s focused too much on Grayson Waller, so much that he made an error against him and got counted out, and now, if he makes that same mistake at Roadblock, The Modern Day Maharaja will become your new NXT Champion. Bron Breakker says that he may have his eyes on Grayson Waller, but he’s not gonna take his eyes off the ball and lose his NXT Championship to a career loser. Thanks to interference by Indus Sher, Bron almost gets counted out, but he fights off Veer, Sanga, & Shanky to hit a Spear on Jinder for the win, as Grayson Waller taunt Bron from the balcony in the CWC.)
NXT Women’s Championships
Roxanne Perez (C) vs Meiko Satomura
(In September on the NXT after World’s Collide, Meiko Satomura wrestles a one off match against Roxanne Perez, where Satomura is victorious. 5 months later, Meiko Satomura makes a surprise return to NXT to confront now NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez after her win over Zoey Stark, and challenges Perez to an NXT Women’s title match at Roadblock, which The Prodigy accepts. Roxanne says that Meiko Satomura is a legend, the measuring stick in women’s wrestling, and she’s in for the fight of her life at Roadblock. Meiko says that Roxanne is a warrior, but she’s for one reason and one reason only, to become NXT Women’s Champion. Someone who is not happy about Meiko Satomura getting a title shot is Cora Jade (who doesn’t get injured). The Sucubus of Sin makes her frustrations known when she brutally attacks Roxanne Perez on the go-home NXT before Roadblock, giving her a Double Underhook DDT on the concrete. Because of this, doctors refuse to clear Roxanne Perez for her bout against Satomura, but Roxy begs the doctors to clear her, which they reluctantly agree to do. This is the same match that happened in real life, with Meiko pushing Roxanne to her physical limit, only for The Prodigy to find a way to win with a rollup. After the match, due to the effects of the attack by Cora Jade 3 days earlier and the grueling match she wrestled against The Final Boss, Roxanne suddenly collapses. Referees, EMTs, and NXT GM Shawn Michales rush out to help Roxanne, with Booker T hopping off commentary to check up on her. Roxanne leaves on a stretcher and in an ambulance as Roadblock goes off the air.)
