WWF No Chance in Hell: In Your HouseMay 31, 1998Wisconsin Center ArenaMilwaukee, WI*Dan "The Beast" Severn & Dustin Rhodes w/Jim Cornette d. Ken Shamrock & Owen Hart by Pinfall Dan Severn wins this match over Shamrock with a Guillotine Choke followed by an overhead suplex, after Owen turns on the World's Most Dangerous Man and becomes a heel again, tired of not getting his way as a good guy.
*TAKA Michinoku d. Aguila by Pinfall to Retain the WWF Light Heavyweight Title The masked Aguila seemingly had the match won until three Japanese men came out of the crowd and distracted him, allowing Taka to hit the Michinoku Driver and pick up the victory. Taka then left with the three men, forming the group Kai En Tai in the process.
*Bradshaw d. Droz by Pinfall Despite Darren Drozdov making his debut in this match (and puking all over the boots of Bradshaw as a method of "mind games", the Texan picks up the victory with the Clothesline from Hell.
*The New Age Outlaws [Road Dogg & Bad Ass Billy Gunn] d. The Midnight Express ["Hollywood" Bob Holly & "The Intrepid" Bart Gunn] w/Jim Cornette by Pinfall to Retain the WWF World Tag Team Titles As part of Jim Cornette's continuing "quest for Family Values," his new version of the Midnight Express challenges the New Age Outlaws for the WWF World Tag Team Titles. However they fall woefully short, as the Outlaws pick up the win following a Spike Piledriver on Bob Holly.
*"Marvelous" Marc Mero d. Sable by Pinfall After Sable split from Marc Mero following her Evening Gown match at The Hard Way, Mero pointed out that he owned Sable's contract and that he would forbid her from appearing on WWF television ever again. Sable challenged Mero to a match for her own freedom. It appeared that against all odds, Sable would in fact gain her freedom from Mero during the match, setting up her former client for the Sable Bomb. However Sable was eventually distracted by a debuting Jacqueline, who appeared at ringside. The distraction allowed Mero to roll up Sable from behind, hooking the trunks for added leverage and picking up the win.
*The Rock w/Mark Henry d. X-Pac w/Chyna by Pinfall to Retain the WWF Intercontinental Title The two dominant factions in the WWF, namely The Nation and D-Generation X, had begun to feud in earnest in recent weeks, leading to the Rock defending his IC Title against X-Pac. Despite X-Pac's never say die attitude, a distraction on the outside caused by a fight between The World's Strongest Man Mark Henry and Chyna allowed D'Lo Brown to sneak in and hit the Sky High Powerbomb on X-Pac, which The Rock then followed up with the People's Elbow to pick up the victory.
*Kane w/Paul Bearer d. Vader by Pinfall in a Mask vs. Mask Match After Vader's return the previous month, he challenged Kane to a rematch with it being Mask vs. Mask. Vader put up a much better fight than he had in February, but it still wasn't enough for the former WWF Champion to be victorious, as he was again Tombstoned by the Big Red Machine. After the match, a maskless and despondent Vader admitted to interviewer Kevin Kelly that "maybe Vader time is over" as he stalked to the back.
*Stone Cold Steve Austin d. Jeff Jarrett w/Jim Cornette by Pinfall to Retain the WWF Championship Following the previous month's title match between the Rattlesnake and the Chosen One, Mr. McMahon had made assurances that there would be "No Chance in Hell" that Austin would walk out of Milwaukee with the WWF title. To that end, he installed himself as Special Guest Referee, as well as WWF officials Gerald Brisco and Pat Patterson as the Special Guest Timekeeper and Ring Announcer respectively. During the course of the build though, McMahon got overconfident and admitted that he had "assaulted" Stone Cold on an episode of Raw, leading Austin to press charges against the boss and his stooges and seeing them arrested. Eventually Austin agreed to drop the charges if a neutral party would stand in the corner and ensure the match was called fairly. Prior to the match it seemed as if no one would accept this job, until to the surprise of everyone The Undertaker appeared to do just that. The match between Jarrett and Austin was back and forth, with McMahon still stacking the deck by making the match No Disqualification halfway through. In the end Austin hit a Stunner, but McMahon refused to count. When Austin confronted him, a still dazed Jarrett grabbed his guitar from ringside. Jarrett attempted to hit Austin with the Accoustic Equalizer, only for Austin to move and for Jarrett to KO Mr. McMahon instead. Undertaker then prevented Cornette, Brisco and Patterson from getting involved as Austin hit another Stunner and then manually had McMahon count the three count to pick up the victory.

WWF King of the RingJune 28, 1998Civic ArenaPittsburgh, PA*Triple H w/Chyna d. Jeff Jarrett by Pinfall in a King of the Ring Quarterfinal Match After losing the WWF Championship match for the second month in a row, Jeff Jarrett fired Jim Cornette as his manager and was trying to get back in Mr. McMahon's good graces by winning the King of the Ring tournament. He failed at this though by running into the leader of D-Generation X, as Triple H pinned Jarrett with the Pedigree.
*Dustin Rhodes d. Al Snow w/Head by Pinfall in a King of the Ring Quarterfinal Match The former Leif Cassidy had returned to the WWF using his real name of Al Snow, and now having clearly lost his marbles by talking to a mannequin Head (dubbed appropriately, 'Head') as if it were a real person. Snow was defeated by Dustin Rhodes, after Rhodes ducked Snow's attempt to use Head as a weapon, stole it from him, and then used it on Al himself.
*The Rock d. Terry Funk by Pinfall in a King of the Ring Quarterfinal Match The Intercontinental Champion was seemingly the favorite for the King of the Ring tournament as he rather easily dispatched the veteran Terry Funk with the Rock Bottom.
*Faarooq d. "Marvelous" Marc Mero w/Jacqueline by Pinfall in a King of the Ring Quarterfinal Match After Marc Mero had seemingly banished Sable from the WWF forever, his plans were thwarted by a debuting Shane McMahon. Shane had rehired Sable to a new contract "in the interest of the fans". Shane would again turn up to be a thorn in Mero's side, distracting the Marvelous One during his Quarter final match against Faarooq, which the former leader of the Nation won with a Dominator.
*The New Age Outlaws [Road Dogg & Bad Ass Billy Gunn] d. D'Lo Brown & Mark Henry by Pinfall to Retain the World Tag Team Titles The feud between the Nation of Domination and D-X continued unabated, as the New Age Outlaws defended the tag team titles against the new European Champion D'Lo Brown (having defeated Triple H on Raw with the help of The Rock) and the World's Strongest Man Mark Henry. Brown attempted his Lo Down splash finisher on Gunn, but the champ moved out of the way at the last minute, tagging in Road Dogg who eventually pinned D'Lo with a Pumphandle Slam while Henry was tied up in the ropes, retaining the titles.
*The Rock d. Faarooq by Pinfall in a King of the Ring Semifinal Match The former leader of the Nation of Domination attempted to exact some revenge in this Wrestlemania rematch with the Intercontinental Champion. Unfortunately for Faarooq, The Rock was able to pull a fast one again, attempting to use the IC Title as a weapon only for the referee to take it from him. Rocky then used this distraction to kick Faarooq low and then hit the Rock Bottom for the victory to advance to the finals.
*Triple H w/Chyna d. Dustin Rhodes by Pinfall in a King of the Ring Semifinal Match Triple H had little difficulty in defeating Dustin Rhodes, finishing him off with a Pedigree to advance to the finals.
*Triple H w/Chyna d. The Rock by Pinfall in the King of the Ring Finals The Rock wasted little time, attacking Triple H right after the latter's victory over Dustin Rhodes in his semifinal match, and ordering that the KOTR finals begin right then and there. The Rock thusly dominated the early part of the match, only to have his momentum stalled when he attempted to get physically involved with Chyna, only for the 9th Wonder of the World to shove the IC Champion over the announce table. This action however got Chyna thrown out of the arena, leaving Triple H on his own against the self-professed People's Champion. In the end The Rock hit the Rock Bottom, but then showboated as he attempted to deliver the People's Elbow. Triple H however moved out of the way with a thunderous comeback and hit the Pedigree to pick up the victory and win the King of the Ring Tournament.
*The Undertaker d. Mankind by Pinfall in a Hell in a Cell Match Mick Foley had returned to the WWF the night after No Chance in Hell, this time in the guise of his identity of Mankind, though with a corporate sheen in an attempt to ingratiate himself to Mr. McMahon. Foley attacked the Undertaker, costing his old rival the #1 contendership to the WWF title. This match happened exactly as it did in real life, with the Undertaker throwing Mankind off the top of the cell and through an announce table, as well as chokeslamming him through the top of the cell as well. It ended with a Tombstone Piledriver.
*Stone Cold Steve Austin d. Kane w/Paul Bearer by Pinfall to Retain the WWF Championship in a No Disqualification Match The nearly unstoppable Kane had defeated his brother The Undertaker in a #1 contendership match on Raw (albeit with help from Mankind), and thus was Mr. McMahon's latest vehicle to try and take the WWF Championship off of Stone Cold Steve Austin. However this would prove futile, as both Undertaker and Mankind would get involved in the title match, with Undertaker accidentally hitting Austin with a steel chair and Mankind being hit with a Stone Cold Stunner at various points. The end came when Kane attempted to Tombstone Austin onto a steel chair, only for the Rattlesnake to fight out of the move. Austin then picked up the chair and hit Kane with three straight shots to the head to stagger the Big Red Machine before finishing him off with a final Stunner to pick up the win.

WWF Breakdown: In Your HouseJuly 26, 1998Selland ArenaFresno, CA*Scorpio w/The JOB Squad d. Taka Michinoku w/Kai En Tai by Pinfall to Win the WWF Light Heavyweight Title Al Snow had gathered together three "enhancement talent" in the form of Bob Holly, Bart Gunn & Flash Funk (now going by the name of Scorpio) to form the group the JOB Squad, who had entered into a feud with the foreign group known as Kai En Tai. Scorpio defeated Taka with a 450 splash from the top after Bart Gunn interfered, knocking Taka out with a powerful right hand, giving Scorpio the Light Heavyweight Title in the process.
*Edge d. Brakus by Pinfall 2 stars who were undefeated heading into this match since their debut squared off, with the silent newcomer Edge besting the German Bodybuilder Brakus. Edge scored the pinfall following a reverse Russian Legsweep called the Downward Spiral. During the match, Edge was scouted from afar by Gangrel, who watched the match with great interest.
*"Dr. Death" Steve Williams d. Vader by Pinfall Despite Vader having rededicated himself following his loss to Kane a month earlier, his losing streak continued as he fell to the debuting "Dr. Death" Steve Williams, who looked impressive against the former WWF champion, pinning him after an Oklahoma Stampede.
*Val Venis d. D'Lo Brown by Countout [Brown Retains the European Title] The wrestling "adult film star" Val Venis challenged for the European Title, and seemingly had the match won with a huge splash from the top rope called the Moneyshot. However Brown rolled to the outside and feigned injury, accepting a countout loss to allow him to keep the title.
*Owen Hart d. Ken Shamrock in a Dungeon Match The feud between Shamrock and Owen Hart reached a high point in this unique match, which took place in the Hart Family Dungeon with Dan Severn acting as the special guest referee for the match. Both men attempted several different submission holds to incapacitate the opponent, with the goal being to escape the dungeon. In the end it was The Beast gaining some revenge on Shamrock for the World's Most Dangerous Man's victory at Wrestlemania, as he locked Shamrock in a Rear Naked Choke from behind and gave Owen the chance to escape the Dungeon and win the match.
*Jeff Jarrett & Dustin Rhodes d. The Legion of Doom [Hawk & Animal] by Pinfall to Retain the WWF World Tag Team Titles The duo of Jarrett and Rhodes had defeated The New Age Outlaws to become the tag team champions, and then refused to grant a rematch to the "degenerates", instead granting a title shot to the legendary Legion of Doom with the additional caveat that LOD would disband if they lost the match. Despite outside interference from the Outlaws against the champions, Dustin Rhodes pinned Animal with a rollup while holding the tights, ending the LOD's WWF run (in reality they were released from their contracts shortly after this match).
*The Rock d. Triple H w/Chyna 2 Falls to 1 in a 30-Minute Iron Man Match to Retain the Intercontinental Title After being defeated for the King of the Ring title the month before, The Rock challenged Triple H to a 30 Minute Iron Man match, putting his Intercontinental Title on the line in the process. The Rock scored the first fall quickly as the Nation attacked Triple H in the entryway before D-X could chase them off, allowing the Rock to hit the People's Elbow to get an early Fall. Almost 20 minutes in Triple H evened the score with a Pedigree to The Rock out of nowhere, tying the score at 1 fall a piece. The Rock scored a second fall with 5 minutes to go, scoring a pin on a roll up while using the ropes for added leverage. It appeared as if Triple H would again even the score with a second Pedigree, but time expired just as Triple H made the cover, giving The Rock a somewhat tainted victory.
*Stone Cold Steve Austin & The Undertaker d. Kane & Mankind w/Paul Bearer by Pinfall With the team of Austin and The Undertaker seemingly fracturing, Mr. McMahon ordered the two to team up against Kane & Mankind, with the additional stipulation that if Austin were pinned by anyone, they would gain the next shot at the WWF Championship. The Rattlesnake and the Phenom were able to set aside their differences long enough for Austin to pin Mankind following a Stone Cold Stunner. However right after the match The Undertaker caught Austin off guard and Tombstoned him in the center of the ring, ceremonially pinning him and then posing with the WWF championship after the fact to close the show.

WWF SummerslamAugust 30, 1998Madison Square GardenNew York City, NY*X-Pac d. D'Lo Brown by Pinfall to Win the WWF European Title The feud between DX and The Nation hit its crescendo at this event, with X-Pac leading the charge against the group by defeating D'Lo Brown for the European Championship, finishing him off with the X-Factor.
*Gangrel d. Edge by Pinfall After studying the newcomer Edge the previous month, Gangrel attacked the mysterious youth on subsequent episodes of Monday Night Raw, leading to this encounter. Edge seemingly had the match won until a young man clad in attire similar to Gangrel appeared in the entryway. This person (later revealed to be Edge's childhood friend Christian) surprised and distracted Edge long enough for Gangrel to hit the Impaler and pick up the victory.
*The JOB Squad [Al Snow, Bob Holly, Bart Gunn & Scorpio] d. Kai En Tai [TAKA Michinoku, Funaki, Men's Teioh & Dick Togo] by Pinfall Despite their name, the JOB Squad continues their winning ways as Al Snow pinned Funaki following a Snow Plow.
*Ken Shamrock & "The Lethal Weapon" Steve Blackman d. Dan "The Beast" Severn & Owen Hart by Submission After the Dungeon match the previous month, Owen Hart allied himself with Dan "The Beast" Severn in an effort to protect himself from the irate World's Most Dangerous Man. Undeterred, Ken Shamrock received aide from martial artist "The Lethal Weapon" Steve Blackman, leading to this tag match. Shamrock got the final revenge on both his old rival Severn and Owen Hart, by making the Blackhart tap out to the Ankle Lock.
*Kane d. Mankind in an Inferno Match Despite their blood feud over the previous year, the Brothers of Destruction in Kane & The Undertaker had seemingly patched up their differences, resulting in an unholy union of sorts. While The Undertaker targeted Stone Cold Steve Austin for the WWF Championship, Kane dealt with the lingering issues with Mankind, who was still seeking the approval of Mr. McMahon. Mankind challenged Kane to an Inferno match and, despite doing his best, ultimately had his arm set on fire to give the Big Red Machine a victory.
*Shane McMahon & Sable d. "Marvelous" Marc Mero & Jacqueline by Pinfall After Sable had been banished from the WWF, Vince McMahon's son Shane had brought her back (much to the chagrin of Marc Mero) and had seemingly entered into a relationship with the former Women's Champion. This culminated in Shane making his in ring debut against Marc Mero and Jacqueline in a mixed tag match, in which the boss's son looked better than expected. Sable however scored the pinfall after delivering a Sable Bomb to Marc Mero, seemingly ending her feud with her former client once and for all.
*The New Age Outlaws [Road Dogg & Bad Ass Billy Gunn] d. Jeff Jarrett & Dustin Rhodes by Disqualification [Jarrett & Rhodes Retain the WWF Tag Team Titles] The New Age Outlaws gained a title shot against Jeff Jarrett and Dustin Rhodes by winning a tag team gauntlet match on Raw. However their shot would be squandered by the demands of Jarrett and Rhodes to make the match an "old school wrasslin'" match, ensuring that a Championship Advantage was in play. As a result, despite Gunn seemingly having the match won after hitting Rhodes with the Fame-asser, Jarrett smashed a guitar over Gunn's head, resulting in a disqualification and keeping the belts with the champions.
*Triple H w/Chyna d. The Rock w/Mark Henry in a Ladder Match to Win the WWF Intercontinental Title The issue between The Rock and Triple H had gotten more personal when Mark Henry of the Nation began making untoward advances to Triple H's bodyguard Chyna. This led to an incident on Raw where the Nation cornered Chyna in the ring with DX barricaded in their locker room, and almost led to the World's Strongest Men making a move on the Ninth Wonder of the World. Thankfully Triple H managed to stop it, but was beaten down as a result. This final match between the two was made a ladder match for the IC Title, ensuring that there would be a winner. Chyna effectively neutralized Mark Henry, leaving the Rock and Triple H to duke it out in a highly competitive match. In the end Triple H scored with the Pedigree and, despite a bad knee, climbed the ladder and secured the IC Title, ending the Rock's lengthy reign.
*Stone Cold Steve Austin d. The Undertaker by Pinfall to Retain the WWF Title The pseudo-alliance between Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Undertaker had ended in the wake of the WWF title, and also led to The Undertaker forming an alliance with his wayward brother Kane. Despite Vince McMahon's demands to take the title off Austin, The Undertaker vowed to keep the match a matter of respect between the two men, and both men fought long and hard against one another. In the end Undertaker went for a chokeslam, only to receive a low blow that followed a Stone Cold Stunner. Kane made his way to ringside as Austin only got a two count off the stunner, and distracted the Rattlesnake, which allowed Undertaker to hit a chokeslam. Undertaker then went for the Tombstone, but Austin countered and pushed Undertaker into Kane, who was standing on the ring apron. Austin caught Undertaker on the rebound and hit him with a second Stunner to pick up the win. Undertaker and Kane then slinked off, looking at the Rattlesnake from afar to close the show.

WWF End of the Line: In Your House September 27, 1998 Copps Coliseum Hamilton, Ontario, Canada
*Too Much ["Too Sexy" Brian Christopher & Scott "Too Hot" Taylor] d. The JOB Squad [Bob Holly & Bart Gunn] by Pinfall A standard tag match with both teams jockeying for position in the competitive tag titles ranks. In something of an upset, Too Much pulled off the victory after Christopher hit Gunn with the Tennessee Jam Legdrop off the top rope.
*Gangrel w/Christian d. Bradshaw by Pinfall After defeating Edge the previous month at Summerslam, it was revealed that the "disciple" following Gangrel around was in fact Edge's childhood friend Christian. Christian continued to silently stand by as Gangrel continued to pick up wins. His winning streak appeared set to stop at the hands of Bradshaw, but the sudden appearance of Edge, who hit Bradshaw with the Downward Spiral behind the referee's back, allowed Gangrel to pick up the win. Afterwards, Edge left with Gangrel and Christian. Meanwhile, a frustrated Bradshaw was approached by a man named Cyrus who spoke with him as he left the ringside area.
*Val Venis d. "The Lethal Weapon" Steve Blackman by Pinfall A standard match with Val Venis picking up the win following the Money Shot.
*X-Pac & "Dr. Death" Steve Williams Wrestled to a No Contest [X-Pac Retains the European Title] The match never really received an open chance, as X-Pac was attacked before the bell by former champion D'Lo Brown, who left him lying in a heap at ringside. Before Steve Williams could take advantage though, he too was attacked, this time by Owen Hart, whom Dr. Death had gotten into a shouting match with earlier in the night on Sunday Night Heat, leading to the match being thrown out.
*The New Age Outlaws [Road Dogg & Bad Ass Billy Gunn] d. Jeff Jarrett & Dustin Rhodes by Pinfall in a No Disqualification Match to Win the WWF World Tag Team Titles After Jarrett and Rhodes got themselves intentionally disqualified the night before, Shane McMahon came to the aid of the New Age Outlaws and ordered this rematch be made no disqualification. Both Jarrett and Rhodes pulled out all the stops to remain champions, but ultimately failed as Road Dogg hit Jarrett with a Pumphandle Slam to pick up the victory.
*The Rock d. Mankind & Ken Shamrock by Pinfall All three men had aided WWF Champion Stone Cold Steve Austin in various ways over the course of the previous few weeks, leading to Mr. McMahon to make a Triple Threat #1 contenders match for the WWF Title in an attempt to keep all of them busy. The Rock pulled out the victory by pinning Mankind with the Rock Bottom, after taking out Shamrock who had Mankind in the Ankle Lock.
*Triple H w/Chyna d. Mark Henry w/D'Lo Brown by Pinfall to Retain the WWF Intercontinental Title Triple H defended the IC Title, but with an obvious knee injury given the brace around his leg. The World's Strongest Man attempted to take advantage of the knee injury, but found himself somewhat stymied by the Ninth Wonder of the World Chyna on the outside. Despite his injury, Triple H was able to pick up the win via rollup when X-Pac appeared at ringside to attack D'Lo Brown, providing a distraction.
*Kane & The Undertaker d. Stone Cold Steve Austin by Pinfall in a Triple Threat Match to Win the WWF Championship Mr. McMahon was determined to take the WWF title off of Stone Cold Steve Austin, booking the Rattlesnake in a Triple Threat match against the Brothers of Destruction with an additional stipulation that Kane and The Undertaker couldn't pin each other. Austin fought valiantly, but in the end Kane and The Undertaker performed a double chokeslam on the Rattlesnake, followed by a double pin. Before an official champion could be crowned, Vince McMahon took the WWF Title belt and hightailed it out of the arena in celebration. The next night on Raw, it would be announced that Kane & The Undertaker would serve as "co-champions" for the time being.

WWF Buried Alive: In Your HouseOctober 18, 1998Rosemont HorizonRosemont, IL*The Godfather d. Droz by Pinfall In the wake of the Nation of Domination disbanding, the former Kama had adopted the persona of The Godfather, a fun loving pimp who would offer his opponents their choice of a match or a night spent with one of his "lovely ladies." He had offered this choice to Darren Drozdov on an episode of Sunday Night Heat, which the former football star took him up on the offer, only to blindside the Godfather from behind in a sneak attack. In this rematch, Godfather dominated and rather easily won, hitting Droz with the Pimp Drop to pick up the win.
*Sable w/Shane McMahon d. Jacqueline by Pinfall to Win the WWF Women's Title With Marc Mero essentially banished from the WWF by Shane McMahon, Sable faced his former valet Jacqueline in an attempt to regain the Women's Title. She accomplished this, pinning Jacqueline after hitting a Sable Bomb.
*Christian w/Gangrel & Edge d. Scorpio w/Al Snow & Bob Holly by Pinfall to Win the WWF Light Heavyweight Title With Edge having joined the duo of Gangrel and Christian, the trio formed a group known as The Brood. The group had entered into a feud with Al Snow's JOB Squad, with this title match the latest iteration of this. Christian defeated Scorpio following a brawl on the outside between Edge and Bob Holly, which allowed Gangrel to sneak in and spray red mist into the eyes of the champion. Christian then hit a modified facebuster to pick up the victory.
*Owen Hart & "Dr. Death" Steve Williams Wrestled to a No Contest The Blackhart had been engaged in a recent feud with Dr. Death, mainly due to the support of the latter by announcer Jim Ross, whom Owen seemingly now blamed for the Montreal Screwjob the year before. This match between the two never really got off the ground, as the two men simply brawled to the back, resulting in the match being thrown out.
*The New Age Outlaws [Road Dogg & Bad Ass Billy Gunn] d. The Acolytes [Faarooq & Bradshaw] w/Cyrus by Disqualification to Retain the World Tag Team Titles Both Faarooq and Bradshaw had languished in the midcard for much of the year, and had been recruited by a man named Cyrus (played by Don Callis) to form a new tag team called the Acolytes. Both men adopted a far more brutal demeanor in their matches and began destroying everything in their path, including the Tag Team Champions. However this brutality would wind up costing them, as the referee disqualified Faarooq after he refused to let up on a choke hold that he held on Road Dogg. The Acolytes continued to attack the Outlaws after the bell, leaving them in a heap on the canvas.
*Chyna d. "The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry by Pinfall The World's Strongest Man Mark Henry had continued to pine after the Ninth Wonder of the World, even winning a "date" with her as a result of pinning X-Pac in a match. After the date went south, Chyna challenged Henry to an intergender match and surprisingly pulled out the victory, courtesy of a low blow behind the referee's back followed by a DDT.
*D'Lo Brown d. The Rock by Pinfall The former leader of the Nation had entered a brief feud with his former disciple in D'Lo Brown, while simultaneously also turning face by aligning himself with Stone Cold Steve Austin. This latter feud would play into this match, as Mr. McMahon's personal enforcer, the returning Big Boss Man, interfered in the match, attacking the Rock at ringside while the referee was down with his night stick. Boss Man then tossed the Rock back into the ring, allowing D'Lo to hit the Lo-Down to pick up the victory.
*Ken Shamrock d. Jeff Jarrett by Submission to Retain the WWF Intercontinental Title Ken Shamrock had joined Vince McMahon's growing corporate group, defeating an injured Triple H for the Intercontinental Title in the process. A former corporate stooge in Jeff Jarrett challenged Shamrock to a title match and performed decently, but ultimately succumbed to the Ankle Lock, allowing the World's Most Dangerous Man to retain his title.
*Kane & The Undertaker Wrestled to a No Contest in a Buried Alive Match After Kane & The Undertaker had both pinned Steve Austin at the previous month's Pay Per View, they announced that they would be "co-champions". This did not sit well with Vince McMahon, who had previously only been interested in getting the title off Austin. He booked the Brothers of Destruction in a Buried Alive match to crown an undisputed champion, also appointing Steve Austin to serve as the Special Guest Referee, with a promise to fire Austin if he didn't crown a new champion. Also as a result of this, McMahon had his leg broken by The Undertaker, ending their alliance with the boss. During the match, Paul Bearer returned to the surprise of many, attacking Kane. However the attack didn't amount to a factor, as Austin attacked both Brothers of Destruction and threw them both into the grave simultaneously before activating a bulldozer with a load of dirt in it, burying both men alive at the same time and ending the match as a No Contest. True to his word, Vince McMahon appeared in a luxury box and fired Austin in front of the live crowd to close the show.

Note: I have swapped the locations of Survivor Series 1998 and Wrestlemania XV. This is so Wrestlemania can return to a Stadium for what should be a hot Attitude Era crowd. WWF Survivor SeriesNovember 15, 1998First Union CenterPhiladelphia, PA*Mankind d. Gillberg by Pinfall in a Deadly Game First Round Match With the WWF Title having been vacated the previous month due to the non-finish in the Kane/Undertaker Buried Alive match, a tournament was held at Survivor Series to crown a new champion. After months of attempting to earn Vince's favor, it seemed as if Mankind had finally earned the admiration of Mr. McMahon. As the "corporate champion," Mankind was given preferential treatment as his first round opponent (which Vince had heavily hinted would be WCW's Goldberg) was in fact jobber Duane Gill repackaged as Gillberg. Mankind easily dispatched the "un-unbeatable" with a Double Arm DDT to move on.
*Jeff Jarrett d. Val Venis by Pinfall in a Deadly Game First Round Match Former Intercontinental Champion and also former "Chosen One" Jeff Jarrett had made it his mission to win back the favor of the boss and win the WWF Title. He succeeded in his first step, defeating Val Venis after hitting a front russian legsweep on the adult film star.
*X-Pac d. D'Lo Brown by Pinfall in a Deadly Game First Round Match X-Pac and D'Lo Brown had been feuding over the European Title coming into this match, but the title wasn't on the line in this first round match. X-Pac continued to even up their feud, winning with the X-Factor Facebuster.
*The Rock d. The Big Boss Man by Pinfall in a Deadly Game First Round Match The Big Boss Man had seemingly been the first corporate entity to be entered into the tournament to take out one of Vince McMahon's hated competitors, namely The Rock. However Boss Man was suckered in as he came in, with The Rock hooking him into a small package and pinning him in less than 5 seconds for the easy tournament advance.
*Stone Cold Steve Austin d. Ken Shamrock by Pinfall in a Deadly Game First Round Match Despite being fired the previous Pay Per View, Austin was immediately rehired by Shane McMahon, who said the move was "best for business." In the contract (which stated that Austin could now be fired if he hit a McMahon unless physically provoked first), it also put Austin in the WWF Title Tournament. For his actions, Shane was stripped of his executive power and demoted down the card to lowly referee. Vince McMahon then did what he could to try and keep Austin out of the title picture. The Intercontinental Champion was tasked with destroying the knee and ankle of the Rattlesnake, as Mr. McMahon wanted above all else to stop Austin from regaining the title. While Shamrock was able to do damage to the ankle, Austin was able to counter the ankle lock by rolling through, tossing Shamrock hard into the turnbuckle. Austin then hit a Stunner to pick up the victory.
*Owen Hart & "Dr. Death" Steve Williams Wrestled to a Double Disqualification in a Deadly Game First Round Match As the feud between Owen Hart and Dr. Death continued, each man was determined to use any means necessary to beat the other. This eventually caused another drawn out brawl that ended in a double disqualification, which had the added effect of giving Stone Cold Steve Austin a bye into the semifinals of the tournament.
*The Undertaker w/Paul Bearer d. Kane by Pinfall in a Deadly Game Quarterfinal Match As a result of being the last two WWF Champions (or co-champions in this case) on record, both The Undertaker and Kane received byes into the quarterfinals of the tournament, with the two set to face each other in the first match of that round. The match was similar to their previous encounters, though this time Paul Bearer was on the side of the increasingly demonic Undertaker as opposed to Kane. This proved to be the difference here, as Paul Bearer hit Kane with a low blow behind the referee's back which distracted him long enough for The Undertaker to hit a Chokeslam to pick up the victory.
*Mankind d. Jeff Jarrett by Submission in a Deadly Game Quarterfinal Match A fairly standard match as Mankind defeated the former Chosen One with the Mandible Claw.
*The Rock d. X-Pac by Pinfall in a Deadly Game Quarterfinal Match The Big Boss Man attempted to get involved again, and again seemingly failed in his task, as he inadvertently hit X-Pac with his nightstick as opposed to the Rock. This allowed the People's Champion to hit X-Pac with a Rock Bottom to advance to the semifinals.
*The Brood [Gangrel, Edge & Christian] & Too Much ["Too Sexy" Brian Christopher & Scott "Too Hot" Taylor] d. The JOB Squad [Al Snow, Bob Holly & Scorpio] & The Hardy Boyz [Matt & Jeff Hardy] w/The Blue Meanie in a Survivor Series Match - Al Snow d. Scott "Too Hot" Taylor by Pinfall - Christian d. Matt Hardy by Pinfall - Scorpio d. Christian by Pinfall - Gangrel d. Bob Holly by Pinfall - Edge d. Scorpio by Pinfall - Jeff Hardy d. "Too Sexy" Brian Christopher by Pinfall - Edge d. Jeff Hardy by Pinfall - Al Snow Was Disqualified Survivors: Gangrel & Edge
*Mankind d. Stone Cold Steve Austin by Pinfall in a Deadly Game Semifinal Match With Austin having received a bye into the semifinals of the tournament, the Corporate's Chosen One was at a disadvantage for once. Austin and Mankind had the most competitive match of the tournament to that point, with both men scoring near falls on the other. In the end the referee was temporarily knocked out, just as Austin hit Mankind with a Stunner. From out of the back suddenly came Shane McMahon to count the fall, only to stop at two and suddenly flip the bird on Austin, turning heel. The distraction by Shane allowed Vince McMahon to enter the ring and drill Austin with a chair shot. Mankind then covered the Rattlesnake and Shane fast counted Austin's shoulders to the mat, as the McMahons high tailed it out of the arena with Austin giving chase.
*The Rock d. The Undertaker w/Paul Bearer by Disqualification in a Deadly Game Semifinal Match The Rock once again managed to get some luck going his way, as Kane arrived at ringside to stalk his brother The Undertaker in this semi-final match. In the closing moments, Kane got in the ring to attack Undertaker, only for the Phenom to toss Rock at him and escape through the ropes. Undeterred, Kane chokeslammed the People's Champion, resulting in a DQ victory and sending the Great One to the Finals of the Deadly Game Tournament.
*The New Age Outlaws [Road Dogg & Bad Ass Billy Gunn] d. The Headbangers [Mosh & Thrasher] & The Acolytes [Faarooq & Bradshaw] w/Cyrus in a Triple Threat Match to Retain the World Tag Team Titles On an episode of Raw, The Headbangers had defeated The New Age Outlaws in a non-title match thanks to the actions of The Acolytes, who attacked and laid waste to the Tag Champions. This led to Mosh and Thrasher calling themselves the uncrowned champions. The Outlaws were set to defend the titles against both teams at Survivor Series, and the match turned into a war of attrition for survival. In the end, Bradshaw hit the Clothesline from Hell on Thrasher, seemingly ready to get the pin, only for Bad Ass Billy Gunn to come from nowhere and hit the Fame-asser on Bradshaw, picking up the surprise win and keeping the titles with the Outlaws.
*The Rock d. Mankind by 'Submission' in the Deadly Game Finals to Win the Vacant WWF Championship With the McMahon's seemingly having vacated Philadelphia with Stone Cold Steve Austin in hot pursuit. The stage was seemingly set for an interference free Final to the Deadly Game Tournament. However things wouldn't be so clear cut, as the McMahon's made their return towards the end of the match. The Rock managed to hit the Rock Bottom against the seeming corporate favorite, only to look at Mr. McMahon and raise an eyebrow. The Rock then locked Mankind in a Sharpshooter, which McMahon then demanded the timekeper ring the bell in a reenactment of the Montreal Screwjob from the year before. It then became obvious that The Rock had been in with the McMahon's all along as the real Corporate Champion, which The Rock solidified by hitting Mankind with a second Rock Bottom when Foley questioned Vince. The Rock and both McMahon's then celebrated to end the show.

WWF Capital CarnageDecember 6, 1998London ArenaLondon, England*The JOB Squad [Al Snow & Bob Holly] w/The Blue Meanie d. The Brood [Edge & Gangrel] by Pinfall The feud between the JOB Squad and The Brood continues with Al Snow and Bob Holly getting the victory over Edge and Gangrel, after Holly pinned Gangrel following the Alabama Slam.
*Droz d. Tiger Ali Singh w/Tiger Jeet Singh by Pinfall Droz defeated Tiger Ali Singh with a sitout powerbomb in a standard match.
*Val Venis d. D'Lo Brown by Pinfall In another standard match, Val Venis defeated D'Lo Brown via a Moneyshot.
*TAKA Michinoku w/Funaki d. Christian by Pinfall to Win the WWF Light Heavyweight Title Christian defended his Light Heavyweight Title against former champion TAKA Michinoku, who had Funaki in his corner. Christian appeared to have the match won, only to be attacked by Scorpio behind the referee's back. This led to Taka hitting the Michinoku driver and regaining the Light Heavyweight Title.
*Sable w/Shane McMahon d. Chyna by Disqualification to Retain the WWF Women's Title When Shane McMahon joined the Corporation, he brought his "friendship" with Sable with him, causing the Women's Champion to turn heel and join the Corporate team as well. Chyna however challenged for the Women's Title at this event, despite Sable doing everything in her power to avoid the match. In the end, Chyna was disqualified when she attacked Shane on the outside, causing the younger McMahon to throw out the match.
*Ken Shamrock & The Big Boss Man d. The New Age Outlaws [Road Dogg & Bad Ass Billy Gunn] by Pinfall to Win the WWF World Tag Team Titles With the creation of the Corporation stable, D-Generation X was positioned as one of the primary groups standing against them. This led to this tag title match. The Outlaws had seemingly beaten Boss Man and Shamrock, but timely intervention from the Corporation's "bodyguard" Test allowed Boss Man to hit Road Dogg with the Boss Man Slam and pick up the win, bringing the tag team titles to the Corporate team.
*The Rock d. X-Pac w/Triple H by Pinfall to Retain the WWF Championship X-Pac had a surprise waiting for The Rock, namely the unannounced return of the previously injured Triple H to stand in his corner in this WWF title match. X-Pac gave it everything he had, but the European Champion was eventually defeated by the combination of the Rock Bottom and the Corporate Elbow.
*Stone Cold Steve Austin d. Kane by Pinfall Following Survivor Series, Kane had been committed to an insane asylum by action of his kayfabe father, Paul Bearer. Kane was released from the asylum by the intervention of Vince McMahon, provided the Big Red Machine did what he was told as a member of the Corporation. His first task was to take on Steve Austin in the main event of this event. Unfortunately, Kane was defeated by the Rattlesnake after he hit a low blow on Kane and then laid him out with the Stunner. Other members of the Corporation came out to attack Austin afterwards, but he was saved by Mankind, who brought a steel chair to fend off the Corporation to close the show.

WWF Rock Bottom: In Your HouseDecember 13, 1998General Motors PalaceVancouver, British Columbia, Canada*"Father" Dustin Rhodes d. The Godfather by Submission After a few weeks away, Dustin Rhodes had returned to the WWF with a new "preacher" gimmick as an extension of his Family Values gimmick that he had for almost a year. Continuing to lambast the licensiousness of the WWF, Rhodes focused his attentions on The Godfather, defeating him by locking him in his version of the STF which he called the STW, short for "Smite the Wicked." *D'Lo Brown & Mark Henry d. The Acolytes [Bradshaw & Faarooq] w/Cyrus by Pinfall Despite destroying virtually every team in their path, The Acolytes had suffered something of a losing streak under the tutelage of Cyrus. This continued against the duo of D'Lo Brown and Mark Henry, as Henry pinned Faarooq following a front Powerslam and then a running big splash. After the match, as Cyrus berated his Acolytes, Faarooq and Bradshaw turned on him, hitting him with an assisted Powerbomb before stalking to the back. Later in the night, the two would be approached by Paul Bearer, who asked if they were interested in serving a true "higher power."
*X-Pac d. "The Lethal Weapon" Steve Blackman by Pinfall to Retain the WWF European Title In a standard title defense for X-Pac, he defeated The Lethal Weapon with the X-Factor facebuster to retain the European Title.
*Owen Hart d. "Dr. Death" Steve Williams by Submission in a Strap Match After several matches between Owen Hart and Dr. Death had ended in No Contests, a Strap Match was signed between the two to ensure that there would be a winner, with neither man able to escape. Both men used the strap to full effectiveness, including Dr. Death hanging Owen over the top rope with it at one point. However Owen was able to pull out the victory by locking Williams in the Sharpshooter, making him tap out.
*The Big Boss Man, Ken Shamrock & Test d. Triple H & The New Age Outlaws [Road Dogg & Bad Ass Billy Gunn] w/Chyna by Pinfall D-Generation X attempted to gain some revenge against the Corporation for recent defeats suffered at their hands. This was also Triple H's first match back after several weeks due to a knee injury that had lingered following Summerslam. DX controlled the early part of the match, only for the Corporation to gain control after Test snuck in behind the referee's back and drilled Billy Gunn with a huge big boot. Shamrock then worked over "Mr. Ass," trying to set him up for an Ankle Lock, only for Gunn to hit the Fameasser out of nowhere. A hot tag was made to Triple H, which led to all bedlam breaking out. As the referee attempted to control a brawl on the outside, Triple H took Test and set him up for Chyna to hit him with a title belt from the outside. However Test ducked out of the way and Chyna hit Triple H instead. Test then delivered another Big Boot to the leader of DX before scoring the huge pinfall upset.
*The Rock d. Mankind by Disqualification to Retain the WWF Championship After he had been spurned by the Corporation as their chosen champion, Mick Foley set his sights on taking the WWF title from The Rock. For a brief moment it looked like he had, as Mankind KO'ed The Rock with the Mandible Claw with the addition of "Mr. Socko" on his hand. However Vince McMahon reversed the decision, citing the use of the sock as an illegal weapon, thus disqualifying Mankind. Foley then attempted to attack the McMahons, only to be hit from behind with a steel chair by The Rock, who celebrated over his body.
*Stone Cold Steve Austin d. The Undertaker w/Paul Bearer in a Last Ride Match to Qualify for the Royal Rumble Match The McMahon's were determined to keep Stone Cold Steve Austin away from the WWF Title as much as possible, so much so that they initially forbade him from entering the Royal Rumble match. Mr. McMahon eventually relented by forcing the Rattlesnake to compete in a Last Ride match against the Undertaker, with the winner advancing to the next month's Rumble match. The Undertaker, who was in the midst of forming his own stable the Ministry of Darkness, took umbridge at the Corporate mishandling of himself, vowing that McMahon would pay for his machinations. The match was a brawl from the word go, with the objective being to toss the opponent in a Hearse and then have it drive away. Undertaker nearly won the match when the newest disciples of his Ministry, The Acolytes, made a second appearance for the night and attacked Austin. However The Undertaker's brother Kane suddenly appeared as well, forgoing the mandate of the Corporation and attacked his brother, Tombstoning him on the concrete, which allowed Austin to toss the Phenom into the Hearse and shut the lid, thus punching his ticket to the Royal Rumble.

WWF Royal RumbleJanuary 24, 1999Arrowhead Pond of AnaheimAnaheim, CA*The Big Boss Man d. Gillberg by Pinfall to Win the WWF Hardcore Title Mr. McMahon's personal security guard The Big Boss Man had suffered a humiliating defeat at the hands of perennial jobber Duane Gill, aka 'Gillberg' a few weeks prior thanks to outside interference from D-Generation X. However that wouldn't happen in the rematch for the Hardcore Title, as Bossman easily bested Gillberg, banging him around with trash can lids, steel chairs and other hardcore paraphenilia to beat Gillberg and regain the hardcore title.
*The Brood [Edge & Christian] w/Gangrel d. The Hardy Boyz [Matt & Jeff Hardy] w/Michael Hayes by Pinfall The Hardy Boyz had aligned themselves with Michael Hayes, spurning the recruitment pitch of Paul Bearer to join the Undertaker's Ministry of Darkness in the process. The former Freebird was leading the young tag team as their manager, facing off against other members of the Ministry in the form of Edge & Christian of The Brood. In a stellar match between two teams that would go on to feud for the better part of the next two years, The Brood was victorious after Gangrel sprayed Red Mist into Matt's eyes, sending him straight into the Downward Spiral from Edge.
*Shane McMahon w/Sable d. X-Pac by Pinfall to Win the WWF European Title After X-Pac had made a thorn of himself in the side of the Corporation in recent weeks, the European champion was targeted by none other than Shane McMahon himself. Despite only having one match under his belt, Shane felt that he could easily pin the former 1-2-3 Kid (saying as much on television). However Shane was clearly outclassed by the more experienced X-Pac, who seemed like a cat playing with a ball of string when fighting the younger McMahon. Women's champion Sable attempted to get involved with her "friend with benefits", only to eat a Bronco Buster from X-Pac. As the referee got Sable out of the ring, X-Pac turned around straight into a big boot from Test, who was at ringside, who then placed the nearly unconscious Shane on X-Pac, allowing him to pin him and win the European title in a monumental upset.
*Ken Shamrock d. Bad Ass Billy Gunn by Submission to Win the WWF Intercontinental Title Billy Gunn had upset Ken Shamrock on the final episode of Raw in 1998 to win the Intercontinental Championship from the World's Most Dangerous Man. This naturally sent Shamrock into a frenzy, as the former champion proceeded to devastate Gunn's ankle, smashing it in a steel chair ala Brian Pillman. He then locked on the Ankle Lock and seemingly left Gunn permanently hobbled. Despite this, Billy was ordered to defend the IC Title in a rematch against Shamrock at the Royal Rumble. Gunn came out in a walking boot and seemingly was waiting to surrender the IC Title to Shamrock, due to being unable to compete. However it was a ruse, as Billy Gunn then drilled Shamrock with the title belt before the match could officially begin. Gunn fought hard in the early going, trying to end the match early. However Shamrock's superior mat work eventually exposed the ankle as still being injured, and Shamrock focused in on the damaged joint with laser precision. Eventually Shamrock hooked Gunn in the Ankle Lock again, and the champion was forced to tap out, giving the title back to Shamrock.
*The Rock d. Mankind in an I Quit Match to Win the WWF Championship After losing the WWF title on January 4th on an episode of Raw (thanks to D-Generation X and a returning Stone Cold Steve Austin), The Rock exercised his rematch clause against Mankind for the Royal Rumble, challenging him to an I Quit match, where the only way to win was to get your opponent to say the words I Quit. It was a brutal match with both men being busted open at various points, but ended when the Rock handcuffed Foley and began pelting him with unprotected chairshots to the head. After several of these shots essentially knocked Mankind out on his feet, Mankind's voice could be heard saying "I Quit" several times, giving the rock the win and the title (though it would be revealed the following night on Raw that this was a recording of Mankind from earlier weeks saying the words, leading to him receiving a rematch that night.)
*Stone Cold Steve Austin Won the 30-Man Royal Rumble Match The deck was stacked against Stone Cold Steve Austin to win the Royal Rumble match, as he "drew" the number 1 in a sham drawing held by Mr. McMahon. Furthermore, Austin would be targeted by a $100,000 bounty that McMahon put on his head to anyone who could take out the Rattlesnake or, barring that, who eliminated Austin from the match. Austin started out at #1, with a handpicked entrant at #2, the returning Mabel. Mabel's Rumble appearance would be brief though, as he would be assaulted by The Undertaker in the early portions of the match and eliminated, as he, Edge, Christian & the debuting Tiga (the former Headshrinker Fatu) would take him to the back (Mabel would return a week later, indoctrinated as Viscera in the Ministry of Darkness). Chyna also made history by becoming the first woman to compete in the Royal Rumble match as well. In the end it came down to Austin and Corporation member Kane, who had entered the Rumble at #30. Kane, still threatened with being sent to the Insane Asylum if he didn't follow McMahon's edicts, attempted to Tombstone Austin, but Austin countered and hit a Stunner on Kane, before clotheslining him over the top rope, leaving Mr. McMahon's attempted clean sweep of the night in tatters, as Austin punched his ticket to Wrestlemania.
