WWF St. Valentine's Day Massacre: In Your House February 14, 1999 Memphis Pyramid Memphis, TN
*The Hardy Boyz [Matt & Jeff Hardy] w/Michael Hayes d. Too Much ["Too Sexy" Brian Christopher & Scott "Too Hot" Taylor] by Pinfall In a standard match of tag teams jockeying for position, The Hardy Boyz pulled off the victory after Matt hit Taylor with a Tornado DDT to pick up the pinfall.
*Hardcore Holly d. The Blue Meanie & Al Snow by Pinfall to Win the WWF Hardcore Title The JOB Squad imploded as both Hardcore Holly and Al Snow sought the Hardcore Title from unlikely champion The Blue Meanie. The Triple Threat match went all over the arena, eventually ending up near the shore of the Mississippi River, which saw Holly pin the Meanie after an Alabama Slam into the shore line, becoming the Hardcore Champion.
*Test & Viscera Wrestled to a No Contest Mabel had made his return at the Royal Rumble as a paid corporate enforcer to try and keep Steve Austin from winning the Rumble match. However in the middle of the match, Mabel was abducted by Edge & Christian of the Brood, as well as the Ministry of Darkness' enforcer Tiga, and taken to the back. Mabel then reemerged as Viscera, the newest member of the Undertaker's growing Ministry. With war brewing between the Corporation and Ministry brewing, Viscera took on Corporate Enforcer Test. Unfortunately the match ended in a No Contest, as both men brawled to the back.
*The Brood [Edge & Christian] d. D'Lo Brown & Mark Henry by Pinfall to Win the World Tag Team Titles The Brood, operating under Freebird rules (where any two of the three men could be in a match) challenged D'Lo Brown and Mark Henry for the tag team titles. The numbers game caught up to the champions, as Gangrel shot red mist into the eyes of Mark Henry, blinding him and causing him to slam his own partner. Christian then hit a top rope splash on the fallen D'Lo to pick up the win and take the Tag Titles for the Ministry.
*Ivory d. Sable by Pinfall to Win the WWF Women's Title The night after the Royal Rumble, Linda McMahon appeared on camera for the first time, appointing Shawn Michaels as the new WWF Commissioner to counter the overt power grabs of her husband Vince. One of the major decisions made by Michaels was forcing Women's Champion Sable to defend her title against an unnamed opponent at St. Valentine's Day Massacre. This opponent turned out to be a woman named Ivory, who shocked the world by beating Sable in 5 seconds to become the new Women's Champion.
*"Father" Dustin Rhodes d. Ken Shamrock, Bad Ass Billy Gunn & Tiga by Pinfall to Win the Intercontinental Title The feud between Billy Gunn and Ken Shamrock for the Intercontinental Title had continued in earnest, but the feud expanded to include both Dustin Rhodes (who defeated Shamrock in a non-title match, partially thanks to Gunn) and the Ministry of Darkness' enforcer, Tiga (the former Headshrinker Fatu). This set up a Fatal Fourway match for the gold. Gunn seemingly had the match won after hitting Shamrock with the Fameasser, only for Tiga to hit a splash from the top rope and take out both men. Rhodes then took advantage of the confusion and rolled up Gunn to pick up the victory and win his second Intercontinental Championship.
*Chyna & Kane d. Triple H & X-Pac by Pinfall The night after the Royal Rumble, Chyna had shocked everyone by turning on D-Generation X and joining the Corporation, aligning with Kane. At the same time, X-Pac was seeking a rematch with new European Champion Shane McMahon. X-Pac teamed with DX leader Triple H to take on Chyna and Kane, where if DX won then X-Pac would immediately get his rematch against Shane. Unfortunately that never happened, as just as the match started, Triple H suddenly turned on X-Pac and Pedigreed him. Confused, Kane looked to Chyna, who proceeded to boot him right in the groin. Triple H then Pedigreed the Big Red Machine for good measure. Chyna then pinned X-Pac to pick up the victory, as Triple H officially joined the Corporation.
*The Rock d. Mankind in a Ladder Match to Win the WWF Championship After brutalizing Mankind in an I Quit match, The Rock thought he had a clear path to Wrestlemania. However newly installed WWF Commissioner Shawn Michaels provided evidence that Mankind had never really said I Quit (and that an audio recording pumped through the PA System had been used instead) granting Mankind a rematch in a Last Man Standing match that very night, which Mankind won the regain the title. Exercising his rematch clause, The Rock challenged Mankind to a Ladder match. While not as brutal as their previous encounter, it was still a fight where both men were busted open as they clawed and scratched their way up the ladder towards the title. In the end, it appeared as if Mankind would climb the ladder and retain the title. However out of the crowd came the Giant Paul Wight, who proceeded to chokeslam Mankind off the ladder, ending his chances. The Rock then climbed the ladder and took the title, reclaiming it and heading to Wrestlemania XV as champion.
*Stone Cold Steve Austin d. Vince McMahon in a Steel Cage Match The night after the Royal Rumble, Vince McMahon attempted to nullify Stone Cold Steve Austin's Wrestlemania title shot on the grounds of "I'm Vince McMahon and I can do whatever the hell I want." This brought out into the limelight Vince's wife Linda, who appointed Shawn Michaels as WWF Commissioner to counter Vince's orders. However, Austin was willing to put his title shot on the line if he got a one on one match with Vince in a Steel Cage, which Mr. McMahon hastily agreed to. The match however was a beatdown as Austin destroyed McMahon from pillar to post. Not even an intervening Big Boss Man could save Vince from the beatdown, as Austin hit Stunner after Stunner before finally leaving the cage and walking straight into the main event of Wrestlemania.

WWF Wrestlemania XV March 28, 1999 Trans World Dome St. Louis, MO
*Terry Funk d. Al Snow by Pinfall to Retain the WWF Hardcore Title The Hardcore Legend Terry Funk had shocked many people by defeating Hardcore Holly for the WWF Hardcore Championship on an episode of Raw. This changed the makeup of Wrestlemania, which was originally set to have Holly defend the title against Al Snow. Both Snow and Holly would thus receive title matches at different times in the night. Funk was able to dispatch Al Snow after a very competitive match, winning after delivering a DDT onto a open steel folding chair. However the Funker could hardly take a breath before Hardcore Holly attacked him, beginning the 2nd match immediately after the first.
*Terry Funk d. Hardcore Holly by Pinfall to Retain the WWF Hardcore Title With Funk damaged, the fresher Hardcore Holly wasted no time in laying into him with chair shots and other hardcore plunder. However Terry Funk was able to fight back and gain control of some weapons of his own, evening the playing field. Eventually the fight made its way backstage, and Funk delivered a piledriver to Holly through the catering table in back, pinning him to retain his title for a second time that night.
*Tiga d. The Godfather by Pinfall In a standard match, the enforcer of the Ministry of Darkness defeated the WWF's resident fun-loving pimp, the Godfather, defeating him after hitting a sitout piledriver.
*Owen Hart & Jeff Jarrett Wrestled to a Time Limit Draw For the last few weeks both Owen Hart and Jeff Jarrett had been engaged in a "friendly rivalry", leading to this one on one contest with a strict 10 minute time limit on it. As it turned out, both men were evenly matched, and the match ended in a time limit draw. Afterwards, both men, though exhausted, shook hands with the other.
*Val Venis w/Terri Runnels d. "Father" Dustin Rhodes by Pinfall to Win the WWF Intercontinental Title The moralizing preacher "Father" Dustin Rhodes had continued his moral crusade against the depravity and licensousness of the Attitude Era WWF. This naturally brought him into conflict with the WWF's resident adult film star, Val Venis, leading to this title match. In an attempt to play mind games with Rhodes, Val released his latest "film", which co-starred Rhodes' ex-wife Terri Runnels. During the match Teri came down with Val and provided a good amount of distraction against her ex-husband, allowing Val to score several near falls. Dustin came back and nearly put Val away with a Bulldog, but Terri getting on the apron and suddenly flashing her breasts caused Dustin to try desperately to cover her up, allowing Val to come back and hit a huge clothesline and follow up with the Money Shot to win the IC Title.
*The Big Show d. Mankind by Pinfall The Big Show had made his debut the previous month, helping The Rock regain the WWF title in a Ladder Match by chokeslamming Mankind off of a ladder. Foley was out for revenge in what was The Big Show's first official WWF match. And it was an impressive debut, as the 7 footer easily threw the 300 pounder around the ring. Mankind managed to get the giant down to one knee by applying the Mandible Claw, but Big Show countered with a powerful right hand that seemingly knocked Foley out. He then finished off the former WWF Champion with an impressive chokeslam.
*The Brood [Gangrel & Edge] w/Christian d. The Acolytes [Bradshaw & Faarooq], The Big Bossman & Test, D'Lo Brown & Mark Henry, The Hardy Boyz [Matt & Jeff Hardy] w/Michael Hayes & The New Age Outlaws [Road Dogg & Bad Ass Billy Gunn] in a Six-Pack Tag Team Challenge to Retain the World Tag Team Titles This match served as a six-team elimination match for the tag team titles. - The Hardy Boyz d. The Big Bossman & Test by Pinfall - The Acolytes d. The Hardy Boyz by Pinfall - The Brood d. D'Lo Brown & Mark Henry by Pinfall - The New Age Outlaws d. The Acolytes by Pinfall - The Brood d. The New Age Out by Pinfall to Retain the Titles
*The Undertaker w/Paul Bearer d. Ken Shamrock by Pinfall Since December, The Undertaker had been laying the groundwork for taking down Vince McMahon and his Corporation, forming his own group the Ministry of Darkness and setting out to take over the whole of the WWF. This war became extremely personal when The Undertaker began targeting Vince's daughter, Stephanie. To protect her, Vince dispatched the World's Most Dangerous Man to try and defeat the Undertaker at Wrestlemania, with Shamrock promising to make the Deadman tap out. The match was a bit of a mess, as Test, Tiga and Shane McMahon all got involved. Test hit Undertaker with a big boot which nearly got a three count, only to have Tiga take him out and begin brawling to the back. The referee then got knocked out, just as Shamrock hooked The Undertaker in an ankle lock. It appeared as if Undertaker would tap out, as Paul Bearer hit Shamrock in the back with a chair to end the hold. With the ref still down, Undertaker looked to hit a Tombstone on Shamrock, only for Shane McMahon to dive in and attack him. Shane received a Chokeslam for his troubles straight to the floor on the outside. Shamrock then again tried the Ankle Lock, only for Undertaker to power out of it. Undertaker then scooped up Shamrock and hit the Tombstone to pick up the win.
*Triple H w/Chyna d. X-Pac in a Last Man Standing Match Triple H had done the unthinkable and turned on his good friend and teammate X-Pac at St. Valentine's Day Massacre, joining the Corporation in the process. Angered, X-Pac challenged the Cerebral Assassin to a Last Man Standing match. As was often the case, X-Pac fought valiantly throughout the match, but he was cut off many times by his former friend. Things were complicated part way through the match by the Arrival of Kane, who attacked Triple H with a Chokeslam through the announce table, only to eventually be subdued by a returning Big Show who chased him out of the arena. By the end, X-Pac refused to give up, even after taking a Pedigree on a steel chair, struggling to climb to his feet as Triple H pled with him to stay down. After X-Pac spit in his face and slapped him, Triple H delivered a second Pedigree and then ordered Chyna to hold X-Pac up. Triple H grabbed a sledge hammer and then crashed it into his head, leaving X-Pac a bloody mess and knocking him out for the 10 count to give the match to Triple H.
*Stone Cold Steve Austin d. The Rock by Pinfall to Win the WWF Championship With his ongoing struggles with The Undertaker, stopping Austin from winning the WWF title seemed almost a secondary concern for Mr. McMahon. Nonetheless Vince was at ringside, though forbidden from interfering by WWF Commissioner Shawn Michaels, who remained at ringside as well to ensure no Corporate interference. Austin and The Rock had a lengthy brawl for the title, with The Rock nearly scoring the win following a Rock Bottom. The Rock went for the Corporate Elbow after the near fall, only for Austin to pop up and hit a Stunner on the Great One. This only garnered a two count as well, leaving both men struggling to find the winning move. In the end, a 2nd Stone Cold Stunner from Austin put the Rock away, bringing the WWF title back to the Rattlesnake to close the show. Off-Camera Title Changes April 12: Hardcore Holly d. Terry Funk for the WWF Hardcore Title April 12: Viscera d. Shane McMahon for the WWF European Title

WWF Backlash April 25, 1999 Providence Civic Center Providence, RI
*The Hardy Boyz [Matt & Jeff Hardy] w/Michael Hayes d. The Public Enemy [Flyboy Rocco & Johnny Grunge] by Pinfall In a standard tag team match, The Hardy Boyz defeated The Public Enemy following an impressive Swanton Bomb from Jeff onto Rocco through a table.
*Tiga d. Mark Henry w/D'Lo Brown by Pinfall The World's Strongest Man was unable to deal with the Enforcer of the Ministry of Darkness, taking a savate sidekick right to the jaw before being finished off with a Banzai Drop in the corner.
*The Acolytes [Bradshaw & Faarooq] d. The Brood [Gangrel & Christian] by Pinfall to Win the World Tag Team Titles The night after Wrestlemania, the Brood were ordered by The Undertaker to drop the tag team titles to the Acolytes as a "sign of loyalty to the Ministry." However The Brood refused to do so, leading them to be expelled from the Ministry of Darkness entirely and setting up this title match. Gangrel and Christian represented The Brood in this match, with Edge on the outside, but The Acolytes were like a wrecking ball, destroying anyone in their path. While Christian attempted to use his speed to throw Bradshaw off his game, a single Clothesline from Hell but paid to that and won The Acolytes the Tag Titles after all.
*Ivory d. Tori by Pinfall to Retain the WWF Women's Title Tori was a wrestling fan who (in storyline) had just gotten into the business and was seeking to make her fortune. She faced off with Ivory for the Women's Title in this match after defeating Sable in an upset on Raw. The match was surprisingly even, but Ivory eventually won with a backslide pin, leaving Tori disappointed but still willing to shake Ivory's hand after the match
*"Dr. Death" Steve Williams d. Hardcore Holly by Pinfall to Win the Hardcore Title Steve Williams defeated Hardcore Holly in a straightforward Hardcore Match, delivering an Oklahoma Stampede through a table that left Holly a bloody mess.
*Val Venis w/Terri Runnels d. Goldust by Disqualification to Retain the WWF IC Title Following his loss at Wrestlemania, Dustin Rhodes began making sermons about his "impending return" with the implication being him talking about the Second Coming of Jesus. However on the episode of Raw before Backlash, he revealed that the "he" that was being referred to was his previous identity as Goldust, as he challenged Val Venis for the IC Title again. The match was surprisingly even, but Goldust seemingly had the match won as he hit the Curtain Call on Val. Instead though, as a slight to Terri, Goldust set up Val in the corner with his legs perched between the second ropes. He then took a running punt kick to the groin of the Big Valbowski, delivering Shattered Dreams to the Champion, but ultimately handing him the match via disqualification.
*Mankind d. The Big Show in a Boiler Room Brawl The Big Show found himself continuing to be embroiled in a feud with former WWF Champion Mankind, as Foley challenged the Giant to a Boiler Room Brawl. The two men battled inside the boiler room of the Providence Civic Center, where the goal was to be the first to escape the locale. Despite The Big Show making every effort to make a beline for the door, Foley cut him off at every step and used a variety of weapons to knock out the Giant, before escaping himself to pick up the win.
*Kane, X-Pac & The New Age Outlaws [Road Dogg & Bad Ass Billy Gunn] d. Triple H, Test, Big Boss Man & Chyna by Pinfall Vince McMahon had been in disarray following Wrestlemania, not only with Steve Austin winning the WWF Championship, but also with the attempts by The Undertaker to kidnap his daughter Stephanie, and the seemingly successful attempt by the Ministry to kidnap his son Shane. This had the added side effect of leaving his Corporation stable in tatters, as enemies of the Corporation Kane, X-Pac and The New Age Outlaws teamed up in this 8-Man Tag to beat back most of what was left of them, with Kane picking up the victory following a Tombstone to the Big Boss Man.
*Stone Cold Steve Austin d. The Rock by Pinfall in a No Disqualification Match to Retain the WWF Championship The Rock challenged Steve Austin after Wrestlemania to a No Disqualification rematch for the WWF Title, offering up as collateral the personalized Smoking Skull belt that Austin had made the previous year while he was champion. The Rattlesnake agreed, and this rematch was every bit the match their Wrestlemania encounter had been. However with no outside interference, The Rock was eventually beaten by Stone Cold following a Stunner and then a face first chair shot to KO the Great One. As the match ended though there was a backstage segment where Stephanie (who had been under the watchful eye of her father to protect her from The Undertaker) was led to a waiting limousine by her returning brother Shane. However it turned out to be a double cross, as Shane led Stephanie straight to the Undertaker, who drove off with the boss's daughter to end the show.
Off-Camera Title Change: May 3: The Hardcore Title Was Vacated Following "Dr. Death" Steve Williams leaving the company May 3: Al Snow Won a Hardcore Battle Royal to become the new Hardcore Champion May 10: The Godfather d. Viscera by Pinfall to win the European Title

Note: I am recycling the Over the Edge name for the UK Pay Per View in May, as opposed to the No Mercy name that would be used again for the October PPV this year. This is just for consistency's sake. Similarly, the May American Pay Per View (the next event after this one) will be called Judgment Day.WWF Over the EdgeMay 16, 1999Manchester Evening News ArenaManchester, England*Teddy Hart d. TAKA Michinoku w/Funaki by Pinfall to Win the WWF Light Heavyweight Title Teddy Hart, the grandson of the legendary Stu Hart and the youngest man ever signed to a WWF contract, made his World Wrestling Federation debut at this event. And in stunning fashion he managed to take the Light Heavyweight Champion to the limit for most of the match. Taka seemingly had the match won in the end with the Michinoku Driver, however Teddy's foot happened to be underneath the bottom rope, causing the referee to call off the three count after he had made it. While Taka argued, it gave Hart enough time to recover. He then rolled up Taka with a small package as Taka went to scoop him up for another move, upsetting him and becoming the new Light Heavyweight Champion.
*Prince Albert w/Droz d. "The Lethal Weapon" Steve Blackman by Pinfall Darren Drozdov, also known as Droz, had gotten tired of his constant losing and had hired his former tattoo and piercing artist, Albert, to be his tag team partner. Prince Albert had been impressive in several victories on Heat, and looked equally impressive here against The Lethal Weapon, pinning him after a double armed chokeslam.
*The Godfather d. D'Lo Brown w/Mark Henry by Pinfall to Retain the WWF European Title After winning the European Title from a week before, The Godfather took on his former Nation of Domination teammate D'Lo Brown for the gold. At first it looked as if D'Lo would be victorious, but he was constantly distracted by The Godfather's lovely female companions on the outside (though not as much as Mark Henry, who had adopted the gimmick of a ladies man in recent weeks.) Brown went for the Lo Down Splash off the top, only to be distracted by Henry's antics on the outside. This allowed The Godfather to knock D'Lo down to the top turnbuckle. He then hoisted him onto his shoulders before delivering the Pimp Drop to pick up the win.
*The New Age Outlaws [Road Dogg & Bad Ass Billy Gunn] d. The Acolytes [Faarooq & Bradshaw] by Disqualification [The Acolytes Retain the World Tag Team Titles] The longtime tag champions The New Age Outlaws challenged the Acolytes for the belts in a role reversal from their feud the previous fall. However like those matches, The Acolytes fought with reckless abandon and took down the Outlaws with hard hitting brawling tactics. Road Dogg managed to tag in Gunn for the hot tag, and Billy looked to finish off The Acolytes title win with a Fameasser to Faarooq, however the referee was down from a mistimed Clothesline from Hell from Bradshaw. A replacement ref came down to count the fall, only for Bradshaw to pull him out of the ring, leading to a disqualification victory for the Outlaws, but for the Acolytes to retain the titles.
*Ken Shamrock d. The Big Boss Man by Submission With the Corporation having collapsed as a stable, The World's Most Dangerous Man took on his former tag team partner The Big Boss Man in a standard contest. Boss Man was able to power through most of Shamrock's offense, but eventually the former UFC champion took Boss Man down and hooked him in the Ankle Lock, securing a submission victory.
*Val Venis w/Terri Runnels d. Jeff Jarrett w/Owen Hart by Pinfall to Retain the WWF Intercontinental Title Since their time limit draw at Wrestlemania, Jeff Jarrett and Owen Hart had formed something of a tag team out of trying to out do the other person. With Owen set to face the Intercontinental Champion at the upcoming Judgment Day show in just a couple of week's from this show, Jeff Jarrett attempted to one up him by winning the title first. However the Big Valbowski was up to the task, handing Jarrett's offense and nearly picking up the win with a Fisherman's Suplex. Jarrett went for his guitar, but Owen tried to deter him from using it. This distraction allowed Val to regain control and knock Jarrett to the ground, before finishing him off with the Moneyshot to pick up the win.
*Kane d. Viscera by Pinfall As Kane continued to seek vengeance on all those who had wronged him in the last several months, his sights were set on the 500 pound Viscera. In a titanic match, Kane actually managed to chokeslam the super heavyweight to pick up the victory.
*Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock & Mankind d. The Undertaker, Triple H & Tiga w/Chyna & Paul Bearer by Pinfall The events of the previous month had bred strange bedfellows, as rivals Steve Austin, The Rock and Mankind suddenly found themselves on the same side of opposition to The Undertaker, Triple H & Tiga, leading to this six man tag. With Undertaker challenging Austin for the WWF Championship at the next Pay Per View, The Lord of Darkness was looking to damage the Rattlesnake ahead of that title match. However Mankind spent much of the match in the ring for the babyface team, with Triple H and Tiga doing most of the dirty work. Mankind managed to hit a Double Arm DDT to Triple H, leading to him making a hot tag to Austin while Undertaker finally came in, as the two came to blows. The match deteriorated after that, with everyone hitting their own finishers on other members of the team in quick succession, ending when The Rock hit Triple H with a Rock Bottom and scored the pinfall for their side.

Note: Obviously, the Owen Hart tragedy doesn't happen here. So he will remain with the WWF for the remainder of 1999.WWF Judgment Day May 23, 1999 Kemper Arena Kansas City, MO
*Al Snow d. Hardcore Holly by Pinfall to Retain the WWF Hardcore Title After Dr. Death left the WWF, Al Snow won a Hardcore Battle Royal to become the new Hardcore champion, and was set to defend against his former JOB Squad teammate Hardcore Holly. The two brawled all over Kemper Arena, with Snow even attempting to run over Holly with a golf cart as they made their way back to the ring. Snow eventually won after hitting Holly with Head to pick up the win.
*The Hardy Boyz [Matt & Jeff Hardy] & Michael Hayes d. The Brood [Edge, Gangrel & Christian] by Pinfall The on-again off-again feud between The Brood and The Hardy Boyz continued, as the Hardys involved their manager Michael Hayes in order to even the odds against the former tag team champions. The end came when Gangrel attempted to spray the Red Mist into the eyes of Michael Hayes, only for him to duck and for Gangrel to hit Edge instead. Matt then hit a swinging neckbreaker followed by a Swanton Bomb from Jeff for the Hardys to pick up the win.
*Bad Ass Billy Gunn w/Road Dogg d. Test w/Big Bossman by Pinfall This match was originally set to be the remnants of the Corporation facing the New Age Outlaws in a #1 contenders match for the World Tag Team titles, but that changed when Road Dogg took an errant boot to the head from Test, leading to a concussion that took him out of the match, changing this into a one on one affair. Despite Test's impressive win-loss record, Billy Gunn was able to outsmart him with veteran saavy, causing him to accidentally hit Big Bossman on the outside with a Big Boot. Gunn then got Test back in the ring and finished him with the Fameasser to pick up the victory.
*Ivory d. Tori in a 2 out of 3 Falls Match to Retain the Women's Title WWF superfan Tori had continued her quest to win the Women's Title from Ivory, with the two even teaming against former rivals Sable & Luna Vachon in a tag match on the pilot episode of WWF SmackDown! in a victory. Ivory agreed to put the title on the line again in a 2 out of 3 Falls Match, and Tori actually looked great, winning the first fall with a small package very quickly. This left Ivory behind the 8 ball for much of the match, before she evened the score following a second rope cross body on Tori. The challenger seemingly picked up the victory with an armbar, when she thought Ivory had tapped, only for the champion's foot to be on the ropes. While Tori celebrated, the referee had to inform her of the error. This allowed Ivory to take advantage and roll up Tori for the second fall and the victory. After the match though, Tori snapped and attacked Ivory viciously, slamming her face into an exposed turnbuckle repeatedly before posing with the women's title.
*Owen Hart w/Jeff Jarrett d. Val Venis w/Terri Runnels by Submission to Win the WWF Intercontinental Title The ongoing game of one upsmanship between Owen Hart and Jeff Jarrett continued, with the Blackhart challenging Val Venis for the IC Title. Owen and Val had a highly competitive match, with the former three time champion actually outpaced by the younger current champion on a few occasions. Terri attempted to inject herself into the match, only for Jarrett to send her to the back after delivering the "El Kabong" guitar shot behind Owen's back. With that distraction, Val chased after Jarrett, only for him to get caught by the unsuspecting Owen in the ring as he dived back in. Owen hit the Enziguri and then locked in the Sharpshooter to pick up the victory and when his unprecedented 4th Intercontinental Championship.
*Kane & X-Pac d. The Acolytes [Faarooq & Bradshaw] by Disqualification [Acolytes Retain the World Tag Team Titles] The unlikely duo of X-Pac and Kane joined together to take on The Acolytes for the World Tag Team Titles. The Champions made it their mission to take out X-Pac, doing everything they could to keep Kane out of the match, focusing on taking out X-Pac. The smaller X-Pac was able to perservere though, and eventually pick apart Bradshaw long enough to get the hot tag to the Big Red Machine. Kane laid waste to the Acolytes, and would have finished them off if not for the appearance of Tiga at ringside. The Ministry's enforcer interjected himself into the match, resulting in a disqualification win for Kane & X-Pac.
*The Rock d. Triple H w/Chyna by Pinfall In a match for the #1 contendership to the WWF Championship, the two old rivals squared off once again, with The Rock picking up the victory following a Rock Bottom and a Corporate Elbow following an unlikely assist from Mankind, as the Hardcore Legend attempted to recruit the Rock to be his tag partner.
*The Undertaker w/Paul Bearer d. Stone Cold Steve Austin by Pinfall to Win the WWF Championship After The Undertaker had kidnapped Stephanie McMahon, it had been revealed that he had brainwashed Shane McMahon into being a member of his Ministry of Darkness. In desperation, Vince McMahon turned to his hated nemesis, Stone Cold Steve Austin, to save his daughter. Austin at first didn't want to get involved, but when Undertaker threatened to marry Stephanie in a dark wedding and "sire his heir" on the honeymoon, Austin got involved, breaking up the wedding and saving Stephanie, setting up this title match. Vince McMahon had initially named himself as the Special Guest Referee, but was taken out by the Ministry prior to the match. This led a new referee to be named, namely Shane McMahon naming himself. Shane was biased against Austin for much of the match, but the Rattlesnake perservered and eventually hit a Stunner on the Lord of Darkness, only for Shane to refuse to make the count. As Austin and Shane fought, Mr. McMahon made his way to ringside, attacking his own son. In the midst of the chaos, Undertaker sat up from the Stunner and then hit a Chokeslam on Austin. Shane kicked his father in the crotch and then quickly made a fast count on Austin to give the title to the Undertaker and the Ministry of Darkness to end the show.

Note: There is no Higher Power angle in this rebooking.WWF King of the Ring June 27, 1999 Greensboro Coliseum Greensboro, NC
*Edge w/Gangrel & Christian d. The Godfather by Pinfall in a KOTR Quarterfinal Match The King of the Ring Tournament started with Edge of the Brood taking on the European Champion, The Godfather. Edge fared well in singles action, seemingly much to the chagrin of Gangrel on the outside, who appeared to not hold Edge's success in high regard. A momentary accidental "distraction" from Gangrel led to Edge getting caught with The Godfather's "Ho Train" in the corner, but Edge was able to fight out of the Pimp Drop and deliver an Impaler to The Godfather to pick up the win and advance.
*Kane d. Jeff Jarrett w/Owen Hart by Pinfall in a KOTR Quarterfinal Match Jeff Jarrett again sought to one-up (or at least equal) his tag team partner, Intercontinental Champion Owen Hart. Unfortunately for Double J, he ran straight into the Big Red Machine Kane. Despite Jarrett doing his best to work over Kane's knee, Kane defeated Jarrett with a Chokeslam to advance to the semifinals.
*X-Pac d. The Big Show by Disqualification in a KOTR Quarterfinal Match Since the fall of the Corporation, The Big Show had moved on to being a hired gun for Triple H. While the defending King of the Ring winner wasn't in the tournament, his bodyguard/significant other Chyna had entered the tournament in an attempt to become the first woman to win it. As such, The Big Show was placed in the tournament by Triple H for one reason only, to take out his old DX running buddy, X-Pac. While the smaller athlete could run circles around the Big Show, once Show got X-Pac stopped he was able to dominate. However he made no attempt to win the match, instead chokeslamming X-Pac through the Spanish announce table, getting disqualified but leaving X-Pac in a heap on the ground.
*Chyna w/Triple H d. Bad Ass Billy Gunn w/Road Dogg in a KOTR Quarterfinal Match Chyna's groundbreaking run in the King of the Ring tournament began with a match against her former DX teammate, Bad Ass Billy Gunn. The former tag champion showed no qualms of fighting against Chynam and his strength seemingly would win him the match. However a distraction on the outside from Triple H led to Chyna hitting Gunn with a Low Blow and then nailing him with a DDT to pick up the victory and advance.
*The Acolytes d. The Hardy Boyz [Matt & Jeff Hardy] w/Michael Hayes by Pinfall to Retain the World Tag Team Titles The Hardy Boyz won a tag team turmoil match on Raw in order to gain a title shot at The Acolytes. Manager Michael Hayes was patrolling on the outside, attempting to interject himself into the match to win the titles for his team. However this eventually backfired on him, as the referee was distracted by Hayes' actions and missed a clear pinfall by Matt Hardy on Faarooq. By the time he saw it, Bradshaw had already broken up the pin. Bradshaw then hit a Clothesline from Hell on Jeff to pick up the victory. After the match, the Hardy's argued with Hayes, and the manager took offense to something said, slapping the taste out of Matt's mouth. Matt then delivered a Twist of Fate to Hayes before Jeff hit him with a Swanton Bomb, ending the partnership with the former Freebird.
*Kane d. Edge by Pinfall in a KOTR Semifinal Match Despite being a huge underdog, Edge held his own against the Big Red Machine in the Semifinal King of the Ring match. He even hit the Downward Spiral and nearly got the three count. However a ref bump caused Gangrel to get involved, as he tried to attack a resurgent Kane. Edge called him off though, wanting to win the match on his own. This led Gangrel to turn on Edge, spraying him with the Red Mist and then abandoning Christian in the process. Kane then hit both Edge and Christian with a Chokeslam as the referee came too, before unknowingly pinning Edge to advance.
*X-Pac d. Chyna w/Triple H in a KOTR Semifinal Match With taped up ribs as a result of the attack by The Big Show, it seemed like X-Pac was easy pickings for Chyna on her road to the finals of the King of the Ring tournament. However X-Pac was resiliant, and caught Chyna with an X-Factor facebuster in the center of the ring while Triple H was showboating to the crowd on the outside, pinning Chyna and advancing to the finals. Shocked, Triple H hit the ring after the match and attacked X-Pac again, delvering two Pedigrees and putting the boots to his injured ribs.
*The Undertaker w/Paul Bearer d. The Rock w/Mankind by Pinfall to Retain the WWF Championship Much to The Rock's chagrin, Mankind had attached himself as his tag team partner, forming the self-titled "Rock N Sock Connection." The two had had some success, winning the tag titles for a brief time, but The Rock was focused on The Undertaker and winning the WWF Championship from him, which allowed the team to lose the titles back to The Acolytes. Despite this, Mankind remained in The Rock's corner for his title match with the Lord of Darkness. The Undertaker took advantage of an early mistake by the Rock that caused him to tweak his knee on the outside, and Mankind could only watch as his old enemy worked over the leg of the challenger. The Rock battled back and hit a spinebuster out of nowhere, setting up for the rechristened People's Elbow. However Paul Bearer tripped up the Rock on the ropes, causing him to fall over. Mankind then went after Paul Bearer, only to be intercepted by Tiga who laid out the Hardcore Legend with a steel chair shot to the head. As Tiga worked over Foley, The Rock was torn between helping Mankind and going after The Undertaker. In the end The Rock chose the former and hit the Rock Bottom on the outside to Tiga. After he went back in the ring though, The Undertaker caught him with a boot to the midsection and then hit a Tombstone to retain the title.
*Kane d. X-Pac by Pinfall in the KOTR Finals X-Pac was clearly in no condition to compete in the finals of the King of the Ring tournament, and in a somewhat humanizing moment, Kane seemed reluctant to fight his newfound kindred spirit and tag team partner. However X-Pac insisted on the match and slapped Kane in the face, infuriating him and causing him to hit a One-Handed Chokeslam to pick up the win and the crown. As a result of his victory, Kane earned a WWF Championship match the following night on Raw.
*Vince McMahon d. Shane McMahon in a Street Fight with Steve Austin as Special Referee With Shane McMahon still brainwashed by The Undertaker, Vince McMahon took it upon himself to try and "beat some sense" into his wayward son, challenging him to a street fight. McMahon then asked Stone Cold Steve Austin to be the Special Guest Referee for the match, offering him a title shot against The Undertaker as payment for services rendered. Both McMahons beat each other senseless, but Vince was able to pull out the victory (despite attempted interference from Viscera and The Acolytes) after hitting several repeated chairshots to Shane. As the Ministry hit the ring again, Austin and McMahon stood back to back, fighting them off, as Shane slinked off in defeat. Austin then celebrated with some beers and offered one to Vince. Vince took it, reluctantly at first, but seemed to be more comfortable with Austin...only for the Rattlesnake to strike again and hit Vince with a Stunner to close out the show in celebration.

WWF Fully Loaded July 25, 1999 Marine Midland Arena Buffalo, NY
*Too Cool [Scotty 2 Hotty & Grandmaster Sexay] d. The Mean Street Posse [Rodney & Pete Gas] w/Joey Abs The team of Brian Christopher and Scott Taylor, formerly known as Too Much, had changed their image to a couple of hip hop fanatics and renamed the team Too Cool. They took on The Mean Street Posse, a group of friends from Shane McMahon's childhood who had become wrestlers earlier in the year. Too Cool won the match after Grandmaster Sexay hit the former Tennessee Jam, now renamed the Hip Hop Drop.
*Al Snow d. Droz, Prince Albert, Hardcore Holly, Shawn Stasiak, Val Venis, "The Lethal Weapon" Steve Blackman & Big Bossman in a Niagara Falls Hardcore Battle Royal to Retain the WWF Hardcore Championship Al Snow had been taking on all comers as the Hardcore Champion, and was set to defend the title in a unique Hardcore Battle Royal on the shoreline of Lake Erie near Niagara Falls. The object was to be the first to toss an opponent into the shores of Lake Erie, which Snow did by tossing Droz into the drink.
*The Big Show d. Ken Shamrock by Pinfall In a standard match, The Big Show defeated the World's Most Dangerous Man with a Chokeslam.
*Jeff Jarrett w/Test d. D'Lo Brown by Pinfall to Retain the European Title Jeff Jarrett had finally managed to equal Owen Hart by winning the European Title from the Godfather on an episode of Raw. However he had a tough job trying to retain the title against D'Lo Brown. It looked as if Jarrett's run as champion would be short lived, before he was aided by his new bodyguard, the former Corporate member Test, who drilled D'Lo with a Big Boot behind the referee's back, allowing Jarrett to pick up the win.
*Owen Hart d. Edge w/Christian by Pinfall to Retain the Intercontinental Title Contrary to his partner, Owen Hart left Test in the back for his title defense against the former member of the Brood, Edge. In a highly competitive match, it appeared as if Edge might be able to upset Owen Hart, only for Owen to pull out the victory with a roll up. As Owen tried to shake Edge's hand after the match, Gangrel appeared on the stage with his new protege, Light Heavyweight Champion "Fallen Angel" Christophe Daniels. Gangrel then performed the trademark blood bath on Owen, Edge and Christian.
*The New Age Outlaws [Road Dogg & Bad Ass Billy Gunn] & X-Pac d. The Acolytes [Bradshaw & Faarooq] & Viscera by Pinfall X-Pac enlisted the help of the New Age Outlaws to take on the Ministry of Darkness, with X-Pac scoring an upset over Viscera with the X-Factor Facebuster.
*The Rock 'n Sock Connection [Mankind & The Rock] d. Triple H & Chyna by Pinfall to Retain the World Tag Team Titles Triple H and Chyna teamed up to try and make history by defeating The Rock and Mankind for the World Tag Team Titles. For their part, the champs seemed to have solidified their partnership following their second title win. The Game and Chyna solated Mankind for much of the match, with Chyna surprisingly holding her own. However The Rock eventually made the hot tag and managed to hit Chyna with the Rock Bottom and the People's Elbow to pick up the win. After the match, Triple H argued with Chyna (with miscommunication having played a part in their loss). Chyna, sick of being blamed for Triple H's failures, proceeded to low blow the game to the cheers of many.
*Kane d. Stone Cold Steve Austin & The Undertaker w/Paul Bearer by Pinfall to Retain the WWF Championship The night after he won the King of the Ring tournament, Kane defeated his brother The Undertaker to win his 2nd WWF Championship. However now the Big Red Machine was faced with the difficult task of defending against both the Lord of Darkness and the Texas Rattlesnake. Unlike the match they had the year before, it was every man for himself, and Austin nearly stole a victory after The Undertaker had managed to hit Kane with the Tombstone. However the Big Red Machine was able to kick out and then hit both The Undertaker and Austin with a Chokeslam to pick up the win and retain the title.

WWF SummerslamAugust 22, 1999Target CenterMinneapolis, MN*Hardcore & Crash Holly d. The Acolytes [Bradshaw & Faarooq], The Hardy Boyz [Matt & Jeff Hardy], Too Cool [Scotty 2 Hotty & Grandmaster Sexay], The Godfather & Val Venis, D'Lo Brown & Mark Henry, & Droz & Prince Albert in a Tag Team Turmoil Match The #1 contendership to the World Tag Team Titles was on the line in a Tag Team Turmoil match, essentially a gauntlet match featuring tag teams entering when one team was eliminated. The Acolytes started off against Droz & Prince Albert, and nearly ran the table until being eliminated by The Hardy Boyz second to last. The last team to enter would have the advantage though, as Hardcore Holly and his newly signed cousin Crash would take the out The Hardys and win the #1 contendership.
*X-Pac d. Kane by Pinfall In the weeks leading up to Summerslam, Kane was feuding with Triple H over the WWE Title, with The Game challenging the Big Red Machine to a match at Summerslam. That match however was held up by Vince McMahon after Triple H made a snide comment about McMahon's family, with The Game stripped of his #1 contendership. Triple H attempted to beat Kane legitimately in a Triple Threat match, however that match (by order of WWF Commissioner Shawn Michaels) also contained Triple H's former associate Chyna, who shocked the world by pinning Kane after Triple H had nailed him with a sledge hammer and becoming the first woman to hold the WWF Title. Triple H was granted the #1 contendership by Michaels, but an additional match would be held at Summerslam between X-Pac and Kane to determine who would advance to make the WWF Title match a Triple Threat. Unlike their King of the Ring collision, X-Pac was at 100% against his on-again, off-again tag team partner, but it still looked as if Kane would pull out the victory. Until the Big Show got involved behind the referee's back, hitting Kane with a steel wrench that knocked him out cold. An unknowing X-Pac then pinned the Big Red Machine to advance to the triple threat match later in the night.
*Chris Jericho d. Road Dogg w/Bad Ass Billy Gunn by Pinfall On the August 9th edition of Raw, 'Y2J' Chris Jericho made his triumphant debut, interrupting a promo with the Rock 'n Sock Connection. Later on Jericho interrupted a match involving the Connection and the New Age Outlaws, attacking the latter to cost the former the match. While The Rock and Mankind were dealing with other issues, the Outlaws didn't take kindly to being used by the young upstart, and challenged him to a match at Summerslam, with Jericho taking on Road Dogg. Despite Billy Gunn being on the outside, Jericho was able to outwrestle Road Dogg and defeat him via pinfall following a Lionsault.
*"The Lethal Weapon" Steve Blackman d. Al Snow by Pinfall to Win the Hardcore Title In a standard Hardcore Title match, Steve Blackman was able to upset Al Snow by using a kendo stick repeatedly to knock out the champion, pinning him to win the title.
*The Fabulous Moolah w/Mae Young & Ivory d. Tori by Pinfall to Win the WWF Women's Title Current WWE Women's Champion Tori had been going around proclaiming herself as the future of women's wrestling after defeating Ivory for the title several weeks prior. She also crashed a celebration for WWF Hall of Famer The Fabulous Moolah and women's wrestling pioneer Mae Young, attacking both of them with the title belt. This led Moolah to come out of retirement and challenge Tori for the title. Prior to the match, Moolah shocked Tori by having Ivory in her corner. Though the 76 year old Moolah wasn't able to move around much, she was able to withstand Tori's offense. Towards the end of the match, Ivory got on the apron as Tori attempted to use the Women's Title belt on Moolah, after having KO'ed Mae Young with it. Ivory took a belt shot from Tori, but the distraction allowed Moolah to roll up the champion and pick up the win, shocking everyone as she won the match and the title.
*Edge & Christian d. Gangrel & "Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels in a First Blood Tag Team Match Following the split of Edge & Christian from The Brood, Gangrel found a new follower in the Fallen Angel Christopher Daniels. Daniels had quickly made his mark by winning the Light Heavyweight Championship. The object of this tag team match was to be the first team to make your opponent bleed, which Edge and Christian were able to win by busting open Daniels following several shots into an exposed turnbuckle. After the match, Gangrel attempted to use the Red Mist on Edge & Christian, but the duo countered and busted Gangrel open too, pouring out the goblet of liquid over the two of them to end the feud.
*The Rock 'n Sock Connection [Mankind & The Rock] d. Jeff Jarrett & Owen Hart w/Test by Pinfall to Retain the World Tag Team Titles The unlikely duo of The Rock 'n Sock Connection had seemingly become friends and a dominant tag team over the course of the summer. Simultaneously, the rivalry between Owen Hart and Jeff Jarrett had coalesced into a tag team to try and take the tag team titles in addition to holding the European and Intercontinental Titles. In this big clash, Owen and Jarrett worked very well as a team for the most part, but their rivalry finally came to a head after Jarrett inadvertantly hit Owen with one of their title belts, allowing The Rock to tag in Mankind. Foley then cleared house and locked Owen in the Mandible Claw, causing him to pass out as The Rock hit Jarrett with the Rock Bottom and scored the pinfall. After the match Owen and Jarrett fought with each other, only to be separated by Test. At first it seemed that cooler head would prevail, but then Test drilled Owen with a Big Boot, KO'ing the Intercontinental Champion.
*Triple H d. Chyna & X-Pac by Pinfall to Win the WWF Championship The WWF Champion, Chyna, had made history with her title win a couple of weeks prior to Summerslam, and attempted to defend it against both Triple H and X-Pac. Despite the advantage against the underdog X-Pac, it appeared that he might have the match won when he hit Triple H with the X-Factor, only for Chyna to break up the pin. Triple H eventually overcame both his former D-X teammates by hitting Chyna with the Pedigree and picking up the win, capturing his first WWF Championship in the process.
*Stone Cold Steve Austin & Vince McMahon d. The Undertaker & Shane McMahon in a Hell in a Cell Match The ultimate issue between the McMahons, the Ministry of Darkness and Stone Cold Steve Austin came to a climactic finish with a still brainwashed Shane McMahon teaming with The Undertaker against Vince and his hated nemesis Steve Austin. The match proved to be a bloodbath inside Hell in a Cell, as all four men were busted open. The final scene saw Shane finally snap out of his brainwashing when the Undertaker demanded he smash a cinder block over Vince's head, causing the Phenom to turn on his wayward disciple. This gave an opening for Austin to hit Undertaker with a Stunner and secure the win. Vince embraced his crying son and thanked Austin, standing aside to allow Austin to celebrate his final victory over his longtime rival.

WWF Unforgiven September 26, 1999 Charlotte Coliseum Charlotte, NC
*The Godfather d. Shawn Stasiak by Pinfall In a standard match, The Godfather defeated Shawn Stasiak with a Pimp Drop after hitting him with the Ho Train.
*Val Venis d. The Big Bossman by Pinfall to Retain the WWF European Title This match was originally scheduled to be for both the European and Hardcore Titles, only for Bossman to drop the Hardcore Title back to Steve Blackman on the episode of Smackdown right before the Pay Per View. The corrupt lawman tried to shake off his title loss by taking out the Big Valbowski with his night stick early in the match, but Val countered and hit Bossman with it behind the referee's back. Val then hit the Moneyshot for the win.
*Chris Jericho d. Ken Shamrock by Disqualification After defeating Road Dogg at Summerslam, Jericho had issued an open challenge to any WWF Superstar who could take down the "Ayatollah of Rock and Rollah". The challenge, much to Y2J's chagrin, was answered by the World's Most Dangerous Man Ken Shamrock. In this match, Jericho tried everything he could to antagonize Shamrock while simultaneously avoiding the dreaded Ankle Lock. Shamrock eventually snapped and began pummeling Jericho with hard elbows, busting him open. When Shamrock wouldn't let up, Jericho was awarded the match via DQ, as security came out and had to restrain Shamrock.
*"The Lethal Weapon" Steve Blackman d. Hardcore & Crash Holly by Pinfall in a Handicap Match to Retain the WWF Hardcore Title After winning the Hardcore Title, Steve Blackman issued an open challenge for Unforgiven. The chellenge was initially answered by Hardcore Holly, only for Hardcore to be interrupted by his cousin Crash. As the two Hollys fought with one another over which one would challenge The Lethal Weapon, Blackman interrupted them and told them he would face them both in a handicap match. Despite having an advantage numbers wise, Blackman utilized his martial arts skills and weapons (particularly tonfa sticks) to wipe out both Hardcore and Crash, pinning the latter to retain his title after a pump kick to the jaw.
*The Dudley Boyz [Bubba Ray & D-Von Dudley] d. The Acolytes [Bradshaw & Faarooq] by Pinfall ECW alum's The Dudley Boyz had made their debut on Smackdown a few weeks prior to this show, attacking The Acolytes during a match they were having against fellow ECW alum Stevie Richards. The two teams engaged in a barn burner of a match, beating each other up with heavy haymakers and power moves. In the end the Dudleys got some help from Richards, who hit Faarooq with a Superkick, sending him straight into a 3-D from the Dudleys as they picked up the win. After the match, as Stevie tried to celebrate with the Dudley boys, he too was hit with a 3-D.
*Tori d. Ivory, Luna Vachon & Jacqueline by Pinfall to retain the WWF Women's Title In a surprisingly short match, Tori quickly retained her title by pinning Jacqueline after a Tornado DDT, stopping Ivory from picking up a pinfall on Luna.
*Jeff Jarrett w/Test d. Owen Hart by Pinfall to Win the WWF Intercontinental Title The friendship/rivalry between Jeff Jarrett and Owen Hart had finally exploded at Summerslam, carrying over as Owen cost Jarrett the European title on an episode of Raw. This led to the Blackhart defending his IC Title against Jeff Jarrett at Unforgiven. Like the Wrestlemania match that had started this whole thing several months earlier, both men were evenly matched and could try and outwrestle the other. Unlike their previous match, Jarrett now employed Test as a bodyguard, which proved to be the difference. With the referee knocked out as Owen had Jarrett locked in the Sharpshooter, Test came in and KO'ed the champion with a Big Boot to the head. Jarrett then pinned Owen as the referee came to, picking up the win and the Intercontinental Title.
*Stone Cold Steve Austin d. Kane, The Big Show, The Rock, Mankind & The British Bulldog by Pinfall Following Summerslam there was a logjam at the top of the WWF card of people clamoring for a Title Shot. A six-pack challenge was set up by Vince McMahon to establish a new #1 contender. The match was initially supposed to feature Chyna as well, but she was taken out by The Big Show prior to the match, leading to her spot being taken by a returning British Bulldog. The match turned into total chaos by the end, with even Mankind turning on The Rock (much to the celebration of Al Snow, who had grown jealous of the friendship between The Rock and Mankind). In the end, Big Show hit a chokeslam on Mankind, but then turned around into a Stunner from Austin, who then pinned the Hardcore Legend and got the victory, moving on to No Mercy to challenge for the WWF title.
*Triple H d. X-Pac in a Ladder Match to retain the WWF Championship Former friends Triple H and X-Pac collided for perhaps the final time in a brutal ladder match for the WWF title. Early on it appeared X-Pac would be screwed over by the New Age Outlaws, who turned heel and attacked their former D-X ally, aligning with the Game. However that was stopped by the return of Kane to the ring, who chased the Outlaws off and made sure the match would be one on one from that point. X-Pac nearly won the title with Triple H knocked out after an X-Factor off of two ladders. However X-Pac himself was exhausted, and couldn't make it up the ladder fast enough to grab the title, allowing Triple H to stop him with a sledge hammer shot to the side. Triple H then tiredly climbed the ladder and grabbed the title, picking up the win. After the match though, Triple H was attacked by the new #1 contender, Stone Cold Steve Austin, who would receive a title shot the following month at No Mercy.

WWF RebellionOctober 2, 1999National Indoor ArenaBirmingham, England*D'Lo Brown d. Prince Albert by Pinfall In a standard singles match, D'Lo Brown pinned Prince Albert following a Lo Down splash.
*The Hardy Boyz [Matt & Jeff Hardy] d. The Mean Street Posse [Joey Abs & Rodney] w/Pete Gas by Pinfall In a standard tag team match, The Hardy Boyz defeated the Mean Street Posse when Matt pinned Rodney following a Twist of Fate.
*Christian w/Edge d. "Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels w/Gangrel by Disqualification [Daniels Retains Light Heavyweight Title] The feud between Edge & Christian and their former Broodmate Gangrel continued as Christian challenged Christopher Daniels for the Light Heavyweight Title. After a competitive match, Daniels was disqualified when Gangrel used the Red Mist on Christian, giving the latter the win but allowing the former to keep his title.
*Owen Hart & The British Bulldog d. Jeff Jarrett & Test by Pinfall Former tag team champions Owen Hart and The British Bulldog reunited for one night only to take on the duo of Jeff Jarrett and Test. The English crowd was fully behind the returning Davey Boy Smith and Owen Hart, but the duo were down early on when Jarrett wrenched Bulldog's knee and seemingly had him out of the match, as the Bulldog was taken to the back for medical attention. As Jarrett and Test worked over Owen, eventually the Bulldog limped out and came back into the match, with Bulldog getting the hot tag from Owen. Bulldog then cleaned house before pinning the Intercontinental Champion with a Running Powerslam, winning the match for their team.
*Val Venis d. Viscera by Pinfall to Retain the WWF Euorpean Title In a standard title match, Val Venis defeated former champion Viscera to retain the European Title, pinning the 500 pounder after hitting the Moneyshot from the top rope.
*The Rock 'n Sock Connection [The Rock & Mankind] d. Hardcore & Crash Holly by Pinfall to Retain the World Tag Team Titles The Holly cousins earned a rematch against the tag team champions The Rock 'n Sock Connection after the title match they earned from Summerslam ended in a no contest. However the Holly's couldn't face off against the now well-oiled machine of The Rock and Mankind. Al Snow made his way to the ring at one point, still jealous of the friendship between The Rock and Mankind, and attempted to help Foley win the match, only for his interference to backfire and nearly cost the champions the titles. In the end Snow was sent to the back by Foley while The Rock hit Crash Holly with a Rock Bottom and the People's Elbow to get the win and retain the titles.
*X-Pac & The Big Show Wrestled to a No Contest WWF Champion Triple H dispatched his associate, The Big Show, in an attempt to squash X-Pac once and for all and end any threat to his title reign from his former associate. Like their match at King of the Ring, Big Show was more focused on injuring X-Pac than he was on beating him, and as a result tried to chokeslam him through a table. However X-Pac came prepared with brass knuckles, fighting against the Giant and staggering him before dropkicking him through the crowd. Big Show attempted to book a hasty retreat as X-Pac followed through the crowd, resulting in the match being thrown out.
*Triple H d. Kane in a Steel Cage Match to Retain the WWF Championship Kane received a rematch for the WWF Championship against Triple H, this time inside a steel cage to try and contain any outside interference from affecting the outcome. Both men beat each other from pillar to post inside the cage, but it was Kane who looked as if he would score the win. However The Big Show returned from wherever X-Pac had chased him, and managed to get in the cage by ripping the door off its hinges. He then attacked the Big Red Machine, allowing Triple H to escape through the now open door to retain his title. Before Kane could be laid out, though, X-Pac returned with a baseball bat and chased off both The Game and The Big Show, standing tall with Kane to end the show.
