NO WAY OUT 2008February 17, 2008 Thomas & Mack Center Las Vegas, NV
NO WAY OUT INTRO (90%)
The PPV begins with a hype video package including the tunes of Bullet For My Valentine's “Scream Aim Fire.” The video highlights the danger and destruction of the Elimination Chamber, showing old highlights of various superstars hitting the steel exterior, being ground into the chain-link, and going through the glass pods all while being bloodied and bruised. A pyro show happens as Michael Cole and Ernest 'The Cat' Miller welcome us in as we see a wide shot of the packed house.
Moments later, the lights go down as a spotlight shines on the structure as it gets lowered. The crowd roars as the classical “Imminent Danger” music plays in the arena, signaling the lowering of the chamber for the opening contest of this year's No Way Out.
MATCH 1: THE UNDERTAKER VS. REY MYSTERIO VS. EDGE VS. MVP VS. JOHNNY NITRO VS. CHRIS MASTERS SMACKDOWN!/ECW ELIMINATION CHAMBER FOR A TITLE SHOT AT WRESTLEMANIA XXIV (85%, 3*) “Booyaka 619” by P.O.D. hit and Rey Mysterio was the first entrant into the Elimination Chamber. Mysterio made his entrance before getting locked away in his pod. Chris Masters was the next entrance and he talked trash to Mysterio before going into his pod. Johnny Nitro came out third and did his pose on the turnbuckle looking at Mysterio. Both ECW participants had avoided starting the match in the ring.
“Metalingus” by Alter Bridge hit and Edge came out, flanked by Curt Hawkins & Zack Ryder. As he got to the chamber door, he slapped both Hawkins & Ryder's hands before the duo went to the back. “I'm Comin'” by Silkk the Shocker played next and MVP would be one of two starting the contest. MVP was a bit apprehensive getting into the structure but he psyched himself up and then directed some fashion of a taunt towards all the others in their pods.
MVP's face turned from confidence to trepidation as the signature gong hit, the lights went out, and The Undertaker made his entrance. When Taker got to the top step of the chamber, he raised his arms and the lights came on. He took his jacket and hat off without rolling his eyes back but he emphatically slammed the chamber door shut, scaring MVP. As Taker walked into the ring, MVP went out. Referee Charles Robinson made MVP enter the ring, and he did so gingerly, before Robinson rang the bell to start the match.
(The Undertaker and MVP begin the match) Michael Cole stated that this would be the longest 5 minutes of MVP's life, and MVP surely acted like it, trying to dodge Taker until the next person entered. MVP did so a couple of times and even kicked Taker in the back of the leg but that only angered 'The Deadman' and MVP was flung into the corner. Taker hit some strikes, beating MVP down into the corner. Taker picked up MVP and threw him face-first off the top turnbuckle to hit 'Snake Eyes' before running off the ropes and nailing MVP with a big boot. The boot sent MVP under the bottom rope and just outside of the ring. Taker went to the outside and was now going to throw MVP like a lawn dart into the chamber but MVP slid back behind and used Taker's momentum to send 'The Deadman' into the structure. MVP got some swagger back and bashed Taker's head off the chamber twice but when he went for a third, Taker blocked it with an elbow and bounced MVP's head off the steel. Taker then shredded MVP's face on the steel like a cheese grater before the clock counted down to :00. The lights went out and the chamber roulette began with an overhead shot. When it stopped, the light landed on Edge's pod and 'The Rated-R Superstar' was set to enter.
(Edge enters at #3) When the lights popped back on, Taker was right there waiting for Edge to be released but Edge was having second thoughts. Luckily for Edge, as Taker was just about to get to him, MVP hit Taker from behind. Taker turned to go at MVP but Edge and MVP began a double team on 'The Deadman.' Taker was beat down into the corner and MVP used his foot to choke Taker for a little bit. Edge then stomped on him a bit as MVP went to the other side of the ring before charging and hitting a running boot to a seated Taker. MVP taunted Taker and then turned around to celebrate with Edge. Edge smiled and high-fived MVP before losing the smile and hitting him with a 'Downward Spiral.' “So much for that alliance” said Ernest 'The Cat' Miller as Michael Cole reminded him of the high stakes of this matchup, a title shot at WrestleMania.
Edge went back to working on Taker and got him to his feet but Taker was rejuvenated and grabbed Edge by the throat and threw him into the corner. Undertaker began hitting some body shots before nailing Edge with a throat thrust that sent Edge comically up and over the top rope. Edge crashed on the steel grates below and Undertaker turned his attention back to MVP, who had just got back to a vertical basis. Taker charged and hit his signature running DDT before stalking MVP for a Chokeslam attempt. However, before MVP got to his feet, Edge jumped off the top rope and hit an unsuspecting Taker with a missile dropkick, and all three men were down. The next chamber pod was about to open and the light hovered over ECW's Johnny Nitro as he entered the match.
(Johnny Nitro enters at #4) Nitro came into the ring with a flurry, knocking Edge and MVP back down flat on the mat with running knee smashes to both. Nitro went towards The Undertaker but he sat up, briefly spooking Nitro. Nitro quickly shook the feeling, hitting a sliding clothesline on Taker, and going for a cover. Taker tossed Nitro off at 2 and Nitro was shocked at the strength of 'The Phenom.' Nitro charged at Taker when he got to his feet but was back body dropped over the top rope and landed hard on the steel grates. The crowd audibly gasped as Taker was now in control of the match. MVP had stumbled to his feet and Taker grabbed him by the arm and started wrenching his arm. Eventually, Taker twisted it and went to the top rope to hit 'Old School' but Edge got to his feet and intentionally ran into the ropes to crotch Taker on the top rope. Edge then climbed to the middle rope and started repeatedly smacking the back of Taker's head into the glass pod behind him, which contained Rey Mysterio. Edge then successfully hit an impressive Superplex on Taker and all four men were down. After the move, Edge set up Taker for a Spear attempt and when Taker turned around, Edge charged but Taker moved out of the way and MVP was in the line of fire and took the move. Edge quickly got to his feet but got caught around the throat and Taker hit Edge with a Chokeslam. Taker did his signature cut throat as the prelude to the 'Tombstone Piledriver' and when Edge got to his feet and spun around, Taker lifted him up and nailed him with it. Taker crossed the arms and got the 1...2...3!
Edge Eliminated by The Undertaker via pinfall in 13:43 A massive shocker as the crowd popped for the unexpected elimination. However, The Undertaker had no time to relish in the fact that he had just eliminated his rival as Johnny Nitro got to his feet and hit his 'Flying Chuck' springboard roundhouse kick to 'The Deadman.' Then with MVP still down from the Spear, and laying near the corner, Nitro got right up and leaped his way to the corner and hit 'Starship Pain' on MVP. Nitro made the cover and got the three-count to eliminate MVP.
MVP Eliminated by Johnny Nitro via pinfall in 14:39 Two quick eliminations now pitted Johnny Nitro and The Undertaker as the two left in the ring. With Taker still down and Nitro trying to formulate a plan, the clock hit zero and another pod was about to open. Just Rey Mysterio and Chris Masters left and when the light stopped, it was the exciting Mysterio who would be entering the chamber next.
(Rey Mysterio enters at #5) Rey rapidly entered the ring and ducked a Nitro clothesline before hitting his own springboard maneuver, a cross body. Mysterio then tried to Irish Whip Nitro but Nitro ended up whipping him instead. Mysterio bounced off the ropes and hit a tilt-a-whirl DDT. Mysterio got to his feet and looked across the ring to see The Undertaker standing. The crowd started to cheer as they were looking forward to this confrontation. Rey used his quickness to duck strikes from Taker and kicked him in the legs, a similar strategy to how MVP started the match. Rey bounced off the ropes and dropkicked Taker right knee, knocking 'The Deadman' down to a knee. Rey went off the ropes again but Taker caught him around the throat while still on a knee but Mysterio got out of it by hitting Taker with an Enzuigiri to the back of the head. Nitro was back up and blindsided Rey from behind. Nitro then hit a STO backbreaker before transitioning into a neckbreaker. Nitro played to the audience, taunting Rey and Taker, before getting on the top rope. Nitro was looking down at Undertaker, who was getting to his feet, and then decided to climb to the top of the pod. The crowd buzzed as Nitro jumped off and hit a diving cross body onto Taker. A huge “Holy $#!*” chant broke out and Chris Masters looked in astonishment. Moments later, the clock was ticking down and Masters was getting impatient as he knew he had a big advantage with all three men down.
(Chris Masters enters at #6) The final pod opens 20 minutes into the match and Masters comes into the ring and starts picking away at the scraps. Masters stomps everyone and prevents Nitro from getting up by striking him with a double-axe handle across his back. Masters then picks Rey up and lifts him up in a Gorilla Press position and walks over near the ropes and dumps Mysterio right onto the steel grates. Mysterio writhes in agony, clutching his sternum, as Masters poses by flexing to the crowd. Masters then sees Taker slowly getting up and gets behind him. Masters signals for the 'Master Lock' and attempts to lock it in. However, the attempt was a little ambitious, as Taker fought hard to keep Masters from locking it in. Masters also had the issue of the size frame of Taker, and getting it cinched in was a struggle. After around 15 seconds, Taker ran backwards into the corner with Masters still on him and it helped to break Masters' grip. Taker started to hit Masters with some strikes in the corner and then grabbed his arm. Taker went to the top rope and this time was able to pull off 'Old School.' Taker signaled for the end and when Masters got to his feet, Taker picked him up and dropped him with a 'Tombstone Piledriver.' Just like that Masters was gone from the chamber and we were down to three.
Chris Masters Eliminated by The Undertaker via pinfall in 23:26 Taker took a second to collect himself, leaning in the corner as Rey was still outside and Nitro was down in the ring. Nitro then started to stir so Taker reared his arm back and had thoughts of a Chokeslam in mind. All of a sudden, out of nowhere, Edge re-enters the ring and hit Taker with a SPEAR!!! Referee Charles Robinson is then yelling at Edge as it appears he got back into the chamber as the door opened when Masters was helped out. The crowd boos Edge who finally listens to direction and leaves the chamber with a sly smirk on his face. Johnny Nitro had seen this all go down and pulled himself up into the corner near Undertaker. Nitro would go on to hit another 'Starship Pain' and cover Taker...1...2...3! Taker would emphatically get a shoulder up but it was just after the 3-count and Johnny Nitro has just made one of the biggest pins of his career.
The Undertaker Eliminated by Johnny Nitro via pinfall in 25:08 The crowd nor even Nitro himself could even believe it. Nitro was so much in a state of shock that he eliminated The Undertaker that he raised his hand in victory before realizing there was one more man to defeat, Rey Mysterio. Rey had started to use the ropes to get to his feet and Nitro helped Rey back into the ring by suplexing him back in over the top rope. Nitro got Rey back up and attempted to finish him off with 'Moonlight Drive' but Mysterio twisted out of the front facelock position and ended up behind Nitro. Rey then hit a front dropkick, sending Nitro into the ropes, draped over the middle one. Mysterio went for a '619' but Nitro ducked and Rey spun through. In the same fluid motion, Mysterio leaped onto the top rope and hit a springboard seated senton on Nitro. Continuing the motion, Mysterio got right to his feet, bounced off the opposite rope, and caught Nitro with a tilt-a-whirl headscissors that sent Nitro right back to square one. Mysterio hit the '619' and followed it up with the splash to get the 1...2...3!
Johnny Nitro Eliminated by Rey Mysterio via pinfall in 28:02
WINNER: REY MYSTERIO IN 28:02 Rey Mysterio is going to WrestleMania! The crowd cheers as Charles Robinson raises Rey's hand. An emotional Mysterio drops to his knees in the middle of the ring and does the sign of the cross before pointing to the sky. Michael Cole makes a note that Rey missed last year's WrestleMania due to injury and will be looking to do what he did at WrestleMania 22, 2 years ago, and win the World Heavyweight Championship.
Y2J BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW (91%) The action is thrown backstage to Josh Mathews who starts off by congratulating Rey Mysterio on his victory in the Elimination Chamber. Mathews then announces he is joined by the current World Heavyweight Champion, 'Y2J' Chris Jericho. Mathews asks Y2J what he thinks about Mysterio winning but Jericho has his game face on and mumbles “Good for him.” It appears Jericho has his mind on more important matters and Mathews gets clued in before asking Jericho about the First Blood Match and the comments JBL made on Friday night. Jericho tells Mathews that JBL saw just a glimpse of what he was capable of at the Royal Rumble, and that tonight, JBL is going to see a Chris Jericho that he has never seen before.
MATCH 2: LANCE CADE VS. TREVOR MURDOCH BAR ROOM BRAWL (66%, 2*) The next contest was the Bar Room Brawl and Jim Ross and Jerry 'The King' Lawler assumed the call of the action. They briefly discussed the Elimination Chamber Match they just saw and the camera then cuts to a shot of the 'Double Down Saloon,' which is an iconic dive bar right near the Thomas & Mack Center in Vegas. The tagline on the outside facing of the building says: “The happiest place on Earth.” King cracks a joke about the irony of that and we see Lance Cade entering the bar, looking around for Trevor Murdoch.
Cade thinks he's spotted Murdoch from behind, sitting at a bar, but when he turns around the patron sitting and enjoying his drink, it is not his former partner. That patron gives Cade a dirty look before tossing his drink in Cade's face. A momentary blinded Cade is then tapped on the shoulder and when the camera pans over it is Trevor Murdoch. Murdoch waits until Cade turns and can see clearly as he decks him in the face with his cast. Murdoch then grabs a beer mug on top of the bar and smashes it over Cade's head.
Murdoch is stomping away at Cade, who is trying to crawl away. Cade crawls over to a pool table and tries to use the table to get up but Murdoch stomps his hand, causing Cade to scream and start shaking it. Murdoch then grabs a pool stick and breaks it in half over the back of Cade. Murdoch is talking trash to Cade and telling him this is what he gets for breaking his arm when he is attacked from behind. It's 'Wildcat' Chris Harris!!!
Harris throws Murdoch into the side of the pool table before helping Cade up. Harris asks if Cade is alright but Cade's hand is limp and blood is trickling from his forehead. Harris picks up Murdoch and throws him into the elongated lamp hanging above the pool table, causing half of it to break and shut off.
With Murdoch on the table, Harris and Cade take turns punching him in the face before Harris drags him off. Harris then throws Murdoch over the bar and Murdoch's legs take out a bunch of bottles lined up against the wall. Cade climbs over and starts stomping on Murdoch before picking him up and placing him on top of the bar. Harris grabs a chair from one of the tables and cracks it over Murdoch's back. Harris then picks Murdoch up and slams him through a couple of small circular tables away from the bar. Murdoch is completely out and Cade and Harris stand over a lifeless Murdoch as the match comes to a close.
WINNER: LANCE CADE VIA KNOCKOUT IN 10:11
BATISTA/KOZLOV HYPE VIDEO (92%) Back to the action in the arena, Michael Cole and Ernest 'The Cat' Miller wonder what we just saw with the Bar Room Brawl. Cole gets back on track by talking about the next contest, 'The Animal' Batista vs. 'The Moscow Mauler' Kozlov. A video package then plays highlighting the feud between the two. Kozlov has been a destructive force since entering the WWE and has set his sights on Batista. Kozlov has gone after the man Batista adores, 'The Nature Boy' Ric Flair, causing the two to trade attacks. What will happen next?
MATCH 3: BATISTA VS. KOZLOV (70%, 1*) “I Walk Alone” by Saliva hits and the crowd erupts for Batista. After setting off his pyro, Batista marches to the ring and is focused. He begins to pace around the ring as he awaits the entrance of Kozlov. Kozlov makes his way down the ramp but before he can even reach the ring, Batista goes out to the floor and the two begin to square up. Referee Jimmy Korderas tries to get the two big men in the ring to start the match but they begin to brawl on the outside.
Batista had the upper hand but Kozlov shoved him back into the steel ring post. Kozlov then chopped Batista twice but when he went for a third, Batista moved and Kozlov chopped the ring post. Kozlov yelled in agony and moved near the barricade and Batista charged and hit a Spear, sending both he and Kozlov through the barricade!!! The crowd began another “Holy $#!*” chant and the two were sprawled out near the timekeeper's area. Eventually, Batista got to his feet and rolled Kozlov into the ring.
Jimmy Korderas held Batista back and when Kozlov got to his feet in the corner, Korderas rang the bell. Batista charged right at Kozlov but the Russian was able to dodge and it led to Batista running into the ring post, shoulder-first. When Batista came out of the corner, Kozlov trapped his arms and hit a belly-to-belly suplex. Kozlov went for a cover but Batista kicked out at 2 and Kozlov yelled at Korderas. Kozlov applied a chinlock and had Batista looking for a way out from a prone position on the mat.
Batista started to stir and he got to his knees. With the crowd firmly behind him, Batista got to a vertical basis and elbowed his way out of Kozlov's grasp. Kozlov would stop Batista's recovery with a swift push kick to 'The Animal's' chest, sending Batista off the ropes. However, Batista would rebound with a viscous clothesline and both men were down. At a count of 7, both men were back on their feet and traded punches. Batista ducked under another strike from Kozlov and when Kozlov turned around, Batista hit a spinebuster.
Batista went over and shook the ropes before putting his thumbs down. He got Kozlov in position to hit a 'Batista Bomb' but Kozlov showed resilience and back body dropped Batista over the top rope and out of the ring. Kozlov started to get up in the ring when...
WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
...It's 'The Nature Boy' Ric Flair. 'Naitch is briskly walking down the entrance ramp and takes off his suit jacket and throws it to the floor. Kozlov is shaking his head in disbelief and waves him to enter the ring while Ernest 'The Cat' Miller wonders if Flair is looking for a death wish. Just before Flair is about to enter though, Batista is on his feet and rushes to stop him. Batista is audibly heard asking Flair “What's wrong with you?” Batista and Flair argue and 'The Animal' tells 'The Nature Boy' that he needs to go to the back.
While the two were caught up arguing, Kozlov snuck out of the ring and charged around the corner to hit Batista from behind. Batista then bumped into Flair and both men were down. Kozlov threw Batista back in the ring and when he got to his feet, Kozlov whipped him off the rope and then hit him with a 'Battering Ram' headbutt as he rebounded. Kozlov lifted his arms up and screamed before picking Batista up and dropping him with the chokelift spinebuster pin he calls the 'Iron Curtain.' Kozlov makes the cover and gets the 1...2...3!
WINNER: KOZLOV VIA PINFALL IN 10:32 (BELL-TO-BELL 7:14) A shocking upset claims Michael Cole as Kozlov wins his first singles match against the former World Heavyweight Champion. Flair is back to his feet and is looking into the ring at Kozlov who laughs at him. Flair can be heard mouthing “DAMMIT” and smacks the mat. Batista rolls out and starts heading up the ramp. Once he gets his bearings straight, he prevents Flair from assisting him. Batista swats Flair's hand away and starts walking up the rest of the ramp alone.
WRESTLEMANIA XXIV PROMO VIDEO (87%) A video promo for WrestleMania XXIV plays using the song “Hell Yeah” by Rev Theory. The short advertisement shows some classical moments from past Manias and includes shots of the Citrus Bowl venue in Orlando, Florida. The ad ends with a countdown as we are 42 days away from 'The Showcase of the Immortals.'
MATCH 4: CHAVO GUERRERO © VS. CM PUNK EXTREME RULES MATCH FOR THE ECW CHAMPIONSHIP (78%, 2.5*) Back to the action and the bell rings as Justin Roberts announces that the following contest is the Extreme Rules Match for the ECW Championship. “This Fire Burns” by Killswitch Engage hits and 'The Second City Saint' CM Punk makes his way down to a roaring ovation. The ECW Champ, Chavo Guerrero enters next and soon after Senior Official, Scott Armstrong rings the bell to kick this title bout off.
The match begins with both guys keeping it in the ring and reversing some chain moves. Punk would get the first advantage of the match when he wrenched Chavo's arm and stepped a leg over it before hitting him with a mule kick to his face. Chavo rolled to the outside and Punk followed him out. Unbeknownst to Punk, Chavo was able to grab a kendo stick from under the ring and hit Punk in the midsection with it as he walked over toward him. Chavo then grabbed Punk and bounced his head off the RAW announce table a couple of times.
With Punk's head lying on the table, Chavo grabbed a nearby chair and tried to smash his head but Punk moved at the last second. Punk then kicked Chavo in the gut and hit 'Welcome to Chicago,' a double underhook backbreaker. Punk lifted the ring apron and pulled out a table, which got the crowd going. Punk set it up but Chavo was back up and hit him from behind. Chavo then bounced Punk's head off that table before setting him on it. Chavo went back into the ring and it looked like he had some bad intentions, climbing to the top rope.
It could be assumed Chavo was going to try and hit a Frog Splash but Punk got off the table, climbed up on the apron, and hit Chavo in the head with a roundhouse. Chavo fell backwards into the ring and then Punk followed it up by hitting his springboard clothesline. Punk then got Chavo up for a 'GTS' attempt but Chavo was able to elbow his way out of it. Chavo then looked for the 'Three Amigos' and hit two suplexes. When he got to suplex #3, Punk blocked it and hit one of his own.
Both men were down and got up at the same time. Punk and Chavo traded punches before Punk hit a spinning back kick to Chavo's midsection. Punk then hit a front kick to a hunched over Chavo before hitting a a combo of slaps, a spinning back fist, and another roundhouse kick to the head. The crowd was feeling it as Punk was waiting for Chavo to get back to his feet. Punk signaled for the 'GTS' but all of a sudden a huge man in a beanie cap appeared on the apron.
Punk went over to knock this mystery man off but the man grabbed Punk around the throat. The big man than lifted Punk over the top rope and slammed him through the table that had been set up outside the ring!
Joey Styles yelled “DAMMIT,” while Tazz marveled at the strength of this man. Tazz wondered who this man was and after rolling Punk back in the ring, a shocked Chavo went to the top rope and hit a Frog Splash. Chavo with the cover, 1...2...3.
WINNER: CHAVO GUERRERO VIA PINFALL IN 12:28 Chavo would grab his ECW Championship and get the heck out of the way as the big man stood menacingly over Punk to a chorus of boos after a major first impression.
LEGACY LEAVES A MARK (80%) The action is sent backstage to Josh Mathews again who welcomes in the new #1 Contender for the World Heavyweight Champion, Rey Mysterio! Mathews congratulates Rey on winning the Elimination Chamber and gets his thoughts on going back to WrestleMania. Rey begins to answer when some commotion is heard down the hall. Mathews apologizes to Mysterio and mentions that he is being told something is going on and the interview has to be cut. The camera man sprints down the hall and we see a 3-on-1 attack on Triple H by Legacy.
Randy Orton is directing traffic as Ted DiBiase Jr. and Joe Hennig are stomping away at Trips. Hunter is yelling and holding the back of his left leg and a lead pipe can be seen on the ground near the chaos. Eventually, road agents and backstage staff intervene and get Legacy out of the area. Triple H is checked on and is favoring his leg. Arn Anderson is on the ground next to HHH and tells him he should get his leg checked out but Hunter denies any help and starts to walk it off. His match versus Orton is next.
MATCH 5: TRIPLE H VS. RANDY ORTON (88%, 3.5*) “Burn In My Light” hits and Randy Orton makes his way out by himself. Orton has a smirk on his face as JR sounds off on Orton and Legacy's tactics. JR says Orton was supposed to win this match by himself so instead of Legacy interfering, they just decided to attack him before. “The Game” by Motorhead hits and Triple H doesn't come out right away. Orton is talking to Referee Jack Doan, possibly about a forfeit, when HHH limps his way out. Hunter, heavily bandaged on his lower left leg, skips his usual entrance rituals. When he gets in the ring, Doan holds him back before ringing the bell.
Triple H tries to get to Orton right away but ends up circling him as he is not fast enough with his limited leg. Orton is smirking towards Hunter and HHH can be heard yelling insults towards him. Orton slowly walks toward the middle and puts his hand out to mimic a “test of strength” but Hunter senses it's a trap and before Orton can go after Hunter's bad limb, he beats him to the punch and strikes first with a right.
Triple H punches Orton back to the corner until Jack Doan tells Hunter to get out of the corner and Orton goes after the bad leg with a boot to it. This sends Hunter back and Orton knocks him down to the mat shortly after. With HHH laying on his stomach, Orton grabs his bad leg and picks it up into the air before slamming it down to the mat. Orton does this once more and Hunter is already clutching in pain, just a couple of minutes into the match.
Orton begins to methodically stomp away at Triple H, focusing heavily on the left leg. Orton then bounces off the ropes and hits a jumping knee drop to the dome of HHH. Orton drops a couple of knees on Triple H's bad leg and applies a leg lock. Orton basically sits on Hunter's leg and starts bashing it. Triple H yells in agony and can't do anything about it as Orton's body is blocking any way to shield it from attack.
Orton was satisfied with the damage and picked HHH up to hit him with his signature inverted headlock backbreaker. A pin attempt got two-count and Orton mouthed that Triple H wants to make this hard on himself, meaning he gets to punish him more. Orton picks Triple H up and goes to Irish Whip him but Hunter falls down because of his leg. Orton laughs at HHH and waits until he gets up before charging at him but Triple H catches him with a 'Double-A' Spinebuster.
Both men are down and Referee Jack Doan gets to a 7-count before both men get to their feet. Triple H and Orton traded blows back-and-forth but once again Orton targets the leg. After getting punched backwards, Orton sprung off the rope and basically tackled Triple H low like he was a running back. Orton then decided to apply a 'Figure-Four' Leg Lock on Triple H and JR mentioned that both men studied under 'The Nature Boy' Ric Flair.
Triple H was trying to swat at Orton's head to break the submission as the anguish built-up on his face. Triple H fell flat on his back a couple of times and started getting counted but got his shoulders up at two in both instances. Orton started putting extra on the hold, trying to get Triple H to tap but Hunter would eventually roll onto his stomach and reverse the pressure. Orton broke the hold shortly after and both men were down.
Orton got to his feet first and started stomping on HHH again. Orton looks agitated that he was not able to put Trips away yet. Orton got Hunter up and whipped him off the ropes. Orton had his head down for a back body drop but Triple H countered with his classic facebreaker knee smash. Hunter uses his right knee for the move so the damage was limited on his bad leg but he did stop to shake it loose after the move. Orton stumbled around and then turned into a kick to a gut. Triple hit a 'Pedigree' but his leg hurt on this move and HHH was not able to pin Orton right away. When he did, Orton just kicked out at 2 and ¾.
The pace had slowed and Triple H was back to his feet after a 5-count. Orton shortly up after that. Triple H went for another 'Pedigree' but this time Orton twisted out of it, ended up behind Hunter, and pulled a move out of the playbook of 'The Nature Boy' with a nasty chopblock to the left leg. HHH screamed in agony and Jack Doan kept Orton back as he asked Hunter if he wanted to continue. A stubborn Triple H yelled “NO!” to Doan but when he got up, Orton nailed him with an 'RKO.' Orton made the cover and got the 1...2...3!
WINNER: RANDY ORTON VIA PINFALL IN 16:20 Orton celebrated as Triple H slowly got his bearings straight. Hunter was clutching his leg and Jerry 'The King' Lawler was singing the praises of Orton. JR made a point to mention that while Legacy didn't interfere in the match, Orton had beaten a compromised Triple H, who was on just one good leg because of Legacy's backstage attack. JR then throws it to the back where John Cena is standing with Todd Grisham and watching the monitor.
THE CHAMP IS HERE! (91%) Todd Grisham starts by calling Orton's win a big one and then introduces the WWE Champion, John Cena. Todd asks Cena how he feels for tonight's Elimination Chamber Match and Cena hypes up the crowd like only he can. Cena says he has to go through 5 incredible superstars tonight, and that it wouldn't be easy in a normal match. Then he says add the fact that he has to start the match and even he admits that there is a good chance he may not walk out of Vegas tonight with the WWE Title. Grisham wonders what Cena's strategy is and John chuckles before saying “The only strategy I know is to fight like HELL!” Cena then says at the end of the night, when the chamber comes up...THE CHAMP WILL STILL BE HERE!!!
MATCH 6: BETH PHOENIX © VS. CANDICE MICHELLE WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP (61%, 0.5*) The action is thrown back to JR and King who comment on the strong words from John Cena. Moments later, the music of Candice Michelle hits and King gets excited as our Women's Championship Match is next. Candice looks to be more confident in herself and her facial expression doesn't waiver when 'The Glamazon' Beth Phoenix makes her championship entrance.
Referee Chad Patton lifts the Women's Title high before ringing the bell and this match is on. Beth tries to intimidate Candice at the beginning and she makes her point in the start as the two lock up but Beth powers Candice to the ground twice with some strong shoves. However, on the third lockup, Beth put Candice in a headlock but got sent off the ropes. Candice caught the rebounding Beth with an impressive deep arm drag. Beth popped back up to her feet but Candice hit another one and then followed it with a flying clothesline when Beth quickly got back up again.
Candice then went to the top rope and hit a diving crossbody on Phoenix when she got to her feet. She continued into a cover and almost got the win with Beth just kicking out in the nick of time. Candice then picked Beth up and tried to hit a suplex but that turned out to be a little ambitious and the powerful Phoenix reversed into her own vertical suplex.
From there on Phoenix controlled the majority of the match powering Candice with a Military Press Slam and a pendulum backbreaker. Beth decided to punish Candice a little more and applied and Texas Cloverleaf submission. Candice was writhing in pain but was able to fight to the bottom rope to force a break. JR claimed that it appeared Beth started to get a hint of doubt that she could put away Candice again.
Beth went to finish the match of with a 'Glam Slam' but when she raised Candice, Candice was able to counter by rolling through and pinning Phoenix. 1...2...2.9! Phoenix just barely kicked out and the near-fall shocked the crowd, the announcers, and both Beth and Candice. However, the belief that Candice could pull the upset was quickly dashed when Beth nailed Candice with a huge clothesline after they both got up from the pin attempt.
Once again, Beth went for the 'Glam Slam' and hit it this time before flipping Candice over and getting the 1...2...3 to retain the Women's Championship.
WINNER: BETH PHOENIX VIA PINFALL IN 7:49 Phoenix grabbed her title but definitely looked angry that Candice put up that good of a fight. JR harped on the fact that Candice did an amazing job and was super game but it just wasn't enough to take down 'The Glamazon.'
Y2J/JBL HYPE VIDEO (95%) As Beth Phoenix finished her celebration, Michael Cole and Ernest 'The Cat' Miller were back on commentary and after mentioning the match that just took place, Cole prefaces the audience for the upcoming First Blood Match, which he touted as a personal war between two men going for the gold. Cole's words led us into a video package highlighting the rivalry between the two, which only began a month ago and has quickly intensified.
MATCH 7: CHRIS JERICHO © VS. JBL FIRST BLOOD MATCH FOR THE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP (88%, 3*) “Longhorn” hits and JBL is the first to enter as he walks out to the ring. JBL has a stoic expression on his face and removes his cowboy hat, jacket, and towel before “Break The Walls Down” begins. 'Y2J' Chris Jericho makes his entrance and when he gets into the ring, instead of the championship announcements, JBL attacks Jericho from behind as his music still plays.
Referee Nick Patrick rings the bell and the First Blood Match is underway. JBL stomps away at Jericho and removes Y2J's jacket before choking him with it. JBL throws Jericho over the top rope and the action spills to the outside. JBL goes right over to the timekeeper's area and grabs a steel chair. Michael Cole exclaims that JBL is trying to end this one early. JBL goes to swing at Y2J but whiffs as Jericho moves.
Jericho hits a dropkick and sends JBL crashing backwards into the steel steps. Y2J then bashes JBL's head off the steel steps a couple of times and Nick Patrick checks JBL for blood. Still too early for that as Y2J clears off the ECW announce table. Joey Styles and Tazz get out of the way as Y2J grabs JBL and bounces his head off the table a couple of times. Y2J then rolls JBL onto the table and gets up on it. However, when Y2J stood over JBL, Bradshaw hit a blatant low blow. JBL then powerbombed Y2J off the ECW table through the RAW announce table!
The table covering was not even removed and Jericho took a crazy crash through the table. JBL admired his work before going over to the timekeeper's area and grabbing the ring bell. When Jericho finally got to his feet, JBL smacked him over the head with it. JBL automatically told Nick Patrick to check Jericho for blood but Y2J was still clean. JBL grabbed Y2J and flung him into the steel ring post but that still didn't get the job done. JBL grabbed Jericho and brought him to where the entrance ramp began and slammed the back of his head onto the steel.
JBL then brought Y2J all the way to the top of the stage and bounced him off the LED screen. JBL then looked over to the stage set piece, which had a bunch of steel trusses around the big screen in the shape of a chamber. JBL went to bash Jericho's head off of it but Y2J blocked. JBL tried again but Jericho blocked and elbowed him. Y2J then bounced JBL's head off the truss a couple of times. JBL then tried to crawl away back down the ramp and Jericho followed him down, kicking him a few times.
Back near ringside, Jericho kicked off the top section of the steel steps and grabbed the bigger base. JBL was on all fours and Y2J slammed the steps down on JBL's back. Jericho then locked in the 'Walls of Jericho' on the floor and JBL began to furiously tap. Michael Cole mentioned that the only way to win is by making your opponent bleed so JBL tapping didn't end the match. Jericho kept it in for a couple more minutes, just to torture JBL before letting go.
The wheels starting turning in Y2J's head as he was trying to figure out what to use to end this match. He then grabbed a steel chair from under the ring and begged JBL to get to his feet. When he did, Jericho nailed JBL right in the head and he instructed Nick Patrick to check. JBL was still clean and then Jericho hatched a diabolical idea. Y2J grabbed the steel steps and placed JBL's head on it. Jericho grabbed the steel chair and Ernest Miller yelled that he's gonna kill JBL. Michael Cole even agreed that maybe Jericho was going too far here.
Nick Patrick even tried to talk some sense into Y2J, but Jericho was adamant on doing damage. Jericho reared back and hit the back of JBL's head while his head laid on the steel steps. JBL was completely out and when Jericho asked Nick Patrick to check, blood could be seen pooling up on the steel steps. Jericho grabbed JBL's head and picked it up and JBL was a bloody mess. The bell was rung and Y2J retained his World Heavyweight Championship.
WINNER: CHRIS JERICHO VIA DRAWING FIRST BLOOD IN 15:28 Jericho was handed his championship but it Michael Cole called it a “very uncomfortable scene to watch.” Y2J lifted JBL's head up again and talked some trash as blood trickled down Bradshaw's face. Medical personnel started to come down to ringside to assist JBL as Jericho sauntered to the back.
ELIMINATION CHAMBER HYPE VIDEO (95%) JR and King were handed the reigns and JR said he was a little perturbed at what he just saw but Lawler said if he thought that was bad, what until he sees what's next. JR said coming up is the second Elimination Chamber Match for the WWE Championship. This leads into another video package for the unforgiving structure.
***MAIN EVENT*** MATCH 8: JOHN CENA © VS. SHAWN MICHAELS VS. JEFF HARDY VS. UMAGA VS. BOOKER T VS. DREW MCINTYRE RAW ELIMINATION CHAMBER MATCH FOR THE WWE CHAMPIONSHIP (97%, 4.5*)
The ominous “Imminent Danger” tune played again as the chamber was lowered. When it finally finished, “Rap Sheet” hit and Booker T was the first to make his way into the structure. Drew McIntyre followed him and talked trash to Booker, who was already locked in his pod. 'The Samoan Bulldozer' Umaga came out next and Lawler remarked that he may be in his element tonight.
“No More Words” by Endeverafter hit next and Jeff Hardy made his way down to the ring to a huge roar. JR responded to what King said about Umaga and pegged Hardy as someone else who is in their element because Hardy has no fear. When Hardy was locked away “Sexy Boy” blared through the arena and 'The Heartbreak Kid' Shawn Michaels made his entrance. JR brought up the fact that Shawn won the very first Elimination Chamber Match. HBK stood in the ring as “My Time Is Now” hit and the WWE Champ, John Cena entered the chamber. Cena handed the gold to Referee Mike Chioda and removed his t-shirt and hat before the bell was rung to begin the match.
(John Cena and Shawn Michaels begin the match)
The crowd cheered for the stand-off and Cena and HBK took their time before locking up. Cena got the first advantage, knocking HBK down to the mat with a shoulder block. HBK quickly got back up to his feet and gave Cena a staredown. The two would lock up again and Cena applied a headlock. HBK sent Cena off the ropes again and got taken down with another shoulder block but this time HBK dropped down and then leapfrogged a charging Cena. HBK almost caught Cena with a flash 'Sweet Chin Music' but an alarmed Cena stopped his momentum and fell to a seated position in the corner.
HBK motioned that he was this close and when Cena got back to his feet, they went at it again. This time HBK hit a couple of knife-edge chops and whipped Cena into the opposite corner. Cena bounced off and HBK hit him with a back body drop. HBK played to the crowd before getting Cena up but the champ quickly countered into getting HBK up for an 'F-U' attempt. Sensing the urgency, HBK flailed around until he was able to grab the top rope to block. However, Cena would flip Michaels over the top rope and HBK yelped as he went back-first into the steel grates. At this time the clock counted down to zero and the next person was set to enter. The spotlight landed on Drew McIntyre and the Intercontinental Champion was next.
(Drew McIntyre enters at #3)
McIntyre leaves his pod and meets Cena in the middle of the ring. The two trade shots before Cena ducks a right and drops Drew with his signature spin out powerbomb. Cena signals for the 'Five Knuckle Shuffle' but when he backed into the ropes, Michaels pulled the top rope down causing Cena to crash on the outside as well. Michaels got Cena to his feet and hit him with a couple of chops. McIntyre then left the ring and hit HBK from behind. McIntyre whipped HBK into the steel structure and HBK crumpled, holding his back. Cena was then up and he and McIntyre started another slug fest. Cena got a boot in on Drew's midsection and attempted to hit a Fisherman's Suplex on the outside but McIntyre blocked in and dropped Cena with an inverted suplex, causing Cena to hold his ribs. McIntyre continued his impressive showing by throwing HBK head-first into the steel. HBK was then shown to be bleeding as the clock counted down for the next entrant.
(Jeff Hardy enters at #4)
The spotlight hovered over Jeff Hardy's pod and the daredevil Hardy was the next to come into the chamber match. Hardy met McIntyre right away in the ring and Hardy hit a flying forearm, knocking the IC Champ down. Hardy then went to kick Drew but McIntyre caught his leg. Hardy would turn it into a mule kick, sending McIntyre to the outside on the opposite side of where Cena and HBK were. Hardy went out after McIntyre and hit his signature double leg drop to the midsection of McIntyre. King questioned Hardy's tactics as Jeff took some of that impact on his tailbone but JR mentioned that Hardy is willing to sacrifice everything to become the WWE Champion and go to WrestleMania.
Hardy went back into the ring when Cena did and the two had a face-off. The crowd popped again after the classic they had last month at the Royal Rumble. They locked up but Cena drove Hardy back into the corner. Cena went for a punch but Hardy evaded and hit some strikes of his own. Hardy stomped Cena down to a seated position before hitting his 'Hardyac Arrest' elevated corner dropkick. Hardy then noticed HBK getting to his feet and Hardy ran up the turnbuckle and jumped to the outside, knocking Michaels back down with the flying cross body. The crowd was going nuts as the next person was set to enter. Would it be Booker T or 'The Samoan Bulldozer' Umaga. The spotlight stopped on Booker's pod and JR exclaimed that he wasn't surprised that Umaga was getting the best advantage possible.
(Booker T enters at #5)
Booker takes his time entering the ring and when he notices everyone is down, he starts to get a look in his eye. The crowd realizes what this means and Booker hits a 'Spinaroonie' in the middle of the ring. When he got to his feet, McIntyre entered the ring and Booker hit him with his signature jumping hook kick. Booker played to the crowd before starting to strike Cena in the corner. Meanwhile, Jeff Hardy started to climb one of the chamber pods. The crowd started to explode, causing Booker and Cena to stop their fighting and observe. Hardy was on top of the pod and below was McIntyre, in position for a 'Swanton Bomb.' Hardy did his signature hand signal taunt before jumping off but McIntyre moved at the last second and Hardy crashed hard. McIntyre put an arm over Hardy and Jeff was eliminated.
Jeff Hardy Eliminated by Drew McIntyre via pinfall in 17:05
Everyone looked on in shock as extra referees came into the chamber to help get Hardy out of the way. Eventually, all four men were in a corner each and after a brief stand-off, the fight continued. McIntyre went after Booker while Cena and HBK continued to go at it. McIntyre tried hitting Booker with a 'Future Shock DDT' but Booker swung out of it and dropped Drew with a 'Book End.' He then waited for McIntyre to get up and hit him with the Scissors Kick. Booker made the cover and the Intercontinental Champion was vanquished.
Drew McIntyre Eliminated by Booker T via pinfall in 19:31
The match was down to 4 men and in just seconds, 'The Samoan Bulldozer' Umaga would be unleashed on the rest of the participants. Umaga yelled as he was let out of his pod and Booker T wasted no time going after him, actually punching him before he could get out. Eventually, Umaga shoved Booker away but when he came back at him, Umaga countered into a Samoan Drop right on the steel grates. Umaga then ran into the ring and hit a splash on both Cena and HBK, who were going at it in the corner. The ring was cleared as Cena and Michaels rolled out to the outside after being pancaked. Umaga then retrieved Booker and brought him back in the ring, lining him up seated in the corner. Umaga went to the opposite side and nailed his running hip attack. Booker's head whiplashed and Umaga wasn't satisfied with that. He picked up Booker and dropped him with a 'Samoan Spike.' Umaga made the cover with a hand on Booker's chest and gave an intimidated stare as the three-count was made.
Booker T Eliminated by Umaga via pinfall in 22:14
JR wondered if the rest of the match was a formality as Umaga was the freshest man in the match while at the contrary, Cena and HBK started the match. Both Cena and HBK were worse for wear as Michaels was bleeding from his forehead and Cena had a bunch of bumps and bruises from the unforgiving structure. Umaga then went to the outside and picked up Cena. Umaga then threw Cena head-first through one of the glass doors on the pod. A collective gasp from the audience as Umaga admired his work. Umaga then went over to where HBK was and hit a Savate Kick, knocking Michaels down. Umaga then dragged HBK's body to a seated position in front of another chamber pod. Umaga walked to the opposite end and the crowd started to buzz. JR and King realized what was going on and JR started to fear for HBK. Umaga yelled before charging at HBK with a running hip attack but Shawn moved out of the way at the last second and 'The Samoan Bulldozer' crashed through the chamber door!
A massive “Holy $#!*!” chant erupted as all three men were incapacitated. Replays are shown of Umaga bulldozing right through the glass as HBK and Cena start to stir. Cena is now also a bloody mess after going through the chamber pod. HBK gets to his feet and looks at the carnage. He tries to pick Umaga up but it's not possible to get all that dead weight. HBK then waves for Cena to come over and the champ stumbles to the scene of the carnage. HBK and Cena get Umaga out of the chamber and back into the ring. Somehow, Umaga is starting to stir himself, and when the duo see, they get into position. HBK starts “tuning the band” and when Umaga gets to his feet, Michaels hits him with 'Sweet Chin Music.' Umaga doesn't fall but stumbles around right into an 'F-U' by Cena. Cena makes the cover and we are down to our final two.
Umaga Eliminated by John Cena via pinfall in 27:06
The crowd is on their feet as the two men who started the contest almost a half an hour ago are the two remaining, all for the WWE Championship and a Main Event Match at WrestleMania. Cena and HBK were both bloodied standing in their respective corners. They then slowly met in the middle of the ring and traded words before looking over at the big WrestleMania XXIV sign hanging in the arena.
The two began trading blows in the middle of the ring and the crowd was behind HBK. Michaels would miss a punch and Cena would hit another spin-out powerbomb. Cena signaled for the 'Five Knuckle Shuffle' and this time he hit it. Cena lifted HBK up for an 'F-U' but Michaels turned it into a roll-up. 1...2...2.9! Cena just kicked out! Both men got up quickly and Michaels hit a flash 'Sweet Chin Music!' Michaels not able to cover right away eventually crawls and puts an arm over Cena, 1...2...2.9!!! The crowd buzzes and JR said he thought that was three. Michaels gets up and goes to the corner to start “tuning up the band” again. When Cena get up, HBK goes for another 'Sweet Chin Music' but Cena ducks. Michaels turns around into an 'F-U' by Cena. Cena falls on HBK for the cover. 1...2...3!!!
Shawn Michaels Eliminated by John Cena via pinfall in 31:40
WINNER: JOHN CENA IN 31:40
Cena retains his WWE Championship in an absolute classic. The crowd is on their feet in a standing ovation and JR brings home the point that these men put their bodies through hell and back because of WrestleMania. Replays of the destruction that took place during the match are shown and when the action comes back live, John Cena is handed his WWE Championship. With blood dripping from his forehead, Cena stumbles back into the corner, holding his title. Shawn Michaels eventually works his way to his feet and turns around to see Cena with the gold. The two meet in the middle again and share some words. Cena puts his hand out to shake and after a brief delay, HBK shakes Cena's hand and then the two embrace in the middle of the ring. HBK leaves the chamber and Cena celebrates as the show fades to black.
FINAL NO WAY OUT RATING (91% -- 218,575 PPV BUYS)--------------------(OOC: Another PPV down and now it's the Road to WrestleMania. I guess one thing I didn't notice is how many run-ins I had in this show haha. At least they were not all the same! The Main Event got an amazing score so I had to figure out what spots needed to happen that would have made it this epic. Hope you enjoy!)
armandopayne94 wins the predictions with 7 pts. to Asaemon 's 6! A close one!
Bonus points had Edge (Shocker!) and Jeff Hardy go out first. Undertaker, Cena, and Johnny Nitro (surprisingly!) all had 2 eliminations. And Cena and HBK bled for just 2 out of 12.

RAWFebruary 18, 2008 Anaheim, CA NO WAY OUT VIDEO RECAP (89%) The broadcast begins with a look back at last night's action at No Way Out. Legacy attacking Triple H before his match with Randy Orton was shown, which resulted in Orton using that to his advantage to get the win over 'The Game.' Then all of the chaos of the Elimination Chamber. Jeff Hardy missing a 'Swanton' off the top of the pod, Umaga throwing John Cena through one of the Chamber pods, and HBK moving out of the way causing 'The Samoan Bulldozer' to crash through another pod was shown. In the end, the WWE Champ, John Cena was able to outlast 'The Heartbreak Kid' Shawn Michaels to successfully retain his championship.
CENA KICKS OFF RAW (91%) “My Time Is Now” hits and John Cena kicks off the show. He welcomes the crowd to MONDAY NIGHT RAW! before talking about his title defense in the Elimination Chamber. After a couple of minutes, Legacy's music hits and the trio cut off the champ. Randy Orton tells Cena to enjoy the time he's having at the top because come WrestleMania, the “Age of Orton” will begin. Orton gloats about beating Triple H last night to which Cena interjects and brings up the fact that his “goons” had to attack Hunter in order for Orton to win. Orton says at the end of the day, the record books say he beat Triple H as “clean as a whistle.” Ted DiBiase Jr. then asks Orton for the mic and takes offense to Cena's name-calling. Cena tells them to do something about it then and it turns into a challenge. DiBiase Jr. & Joe Hennig to face Cena and a partner of his choosing. Rhodes gets in the ring next to Cena and Orton tells his crew to leave and take care of it later tonight.
MATCH 1: JTG W/SHAD VS. CHRIS HARRIS W/LANCE CADE (57%, 0.5*) The opening contest pitted JTG from Cryme Tyme against 'Wildcat' Chris Harris of The Renegades. Both Shad and Lance Cade were at ringside. As Harris made his entrance, JR and King narrated over clips of the duo beating down Trevor Murdoch in the 'Bar Room Brawl' last night. The 2-on-1 didn't sit right with Cryme Tyme and that is why we have this match, which is only a singles match because Lance Cade has one of his hands in a brace as a “wound of war.” After a few minutes of action, the smaller JTG was using his quickness to gain control of the match. Cade tried to get involved in the match which made Shad try to intervene as well. Referee Jack Doan held Shad back as Cade got on the apron, ducked a JTG right, and hung him off the top rope. Harris would hit his 'Catatonic' to put JTG away for the W. WINNER: CHRIS HARRIS VIA PINFALL IN 7:38

MATCH 2: BETH PHOENIX VS. LOCAL TALENT (47%, 0.5*) The Women's Champion, Beth Phoenix, fresh off her title defense over Candice Michelle, was in action next. Despite the win last night, Phoenix didn't look super thrilled and that would be bad news for the local talent waiting in the ring. Phoenix won the match with total domination as expected, and JR commented on the fact that Beth seemed to have an even meaner streak than what we've seen before. Beth won with the 'Glam Slam' and then stood over her opponent as she lifted the title high. WINNER: BETH PHOENIX VIA PINFALL IN 3:05
LEGACY MAKES A PITCH (87%) Cody Rhodes is walking backstage when he crosses the path of Legacy. Rhodes gets defensive right away, preparing for a fight but Randy Orton tells him to calm down. Orton says they aren't going to attack Cody but he is wondering something. Orton asks Cody why he keeps getting involved in Legacy's business, especially when he knows it leads to the same result, and that is Cody being on the losing end. Cody starts to answer but Orton cuts him off. Orton makes a pitch to Rhodes and praises Cody's tenacity, even if he thinks he's foolish continuing to fight Legacy. Cody doesn't want to hear it but Orton tells him to think with his head and not his heart. Orton says he'd clearly fit right in with Legacy. Orton tells Cody to just think about it as Legacy walks away and Cody's facial expression is one of skepticism.
MATCH 3: LONDON & KENDRICK © VS. THE WORLD'S GREATEST TAG TEAM [SHELTON BENJAMIN & CHARLIE HAAS] – WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP (66%, 3*) The World Tag Team Championship was on the line next as The World's Greatest Tag Team got their rematch against Paul London & Brian Kendrick. Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas seemed to have a newfound respect for the new tag champs and it resulted in a really hard-fought but clean match. Both teams pulled off some fun athletic highlights and after about 10 minutes, the match was hitting its peak. This is when Carlito & Primo came from out of nowhere and ruined the contest. The brothers went after both teams and it resulted in a no contest. JR was hot about this as he said it ruined a very good match. Carlito & Primo grabbed the World Tag Team Titles and lifted them high. RESULT: NO CONTEST VIA INTERFERENCE IN 12:14
MR. MONEY IN THE BANK AGAIN? (82%) Todd Grisham is shown backstage and brings in his guest, Mr. Kennedy. Kennedy says what better way than to become 'Mr. Money In The Bank' for the second year in a row. Grisham mentions that MITB Qualifying Matches will start taking place next week and Kennedy vows to right the wrong from last year. Kennedy says he will win the briefcase again and this time, he's cashing in to become WWE Champion. Just as he says that Bobby Lashley walks into the picture. Grisham backs away as Lashley and Kennedy face-off. Lashley asks Kennedy “Is that so?” before saying he's going to qualify for the match and finally get over the hump to become champ. The segment ends with the two in a staredown.
MATCH 4: BOOKER T W/SHARMELL VS. WILLIAM REGAL W/DREW MCINTYRE (81%, 3*) Booker T took on William Regal next. Post-match, McIntyre and Regal beat up on Booker and Sharmell entered the ring to try to help her man. This resulted in Regal restraining Sharmell while McIntyre dropped Booker with a 'Future Shock' DDT. WINNER: BOOKER T VIA DISQUALIFICATION IN 8:49

***MAIN EVENT*** MATCH 5: JOHN CENA & CODY RHODES VS. LEGACY [TED DIBIASE JR. & JOE HENNIG] W/RANDY ORTON (75%, 1*) Cody Rhodes thought about it but ultimately he joined WWE Champ, John Cena, as his tag team partner for the Main Event against Legacy. King said that Rhodes is not being smart because he had a prime opportunity in front of him, while JR defends the nobility of Cody. Good action throughout the match saw everyone get shine. DiBiase Jr. & Hennig did a good job cutting Rhodes off from Cena but Cena got a hot tag and ran roughshod over the duo. Cena would tag Rhodes back in to finish the match off but Randy Orton had other plans and tried to get involved. Cena went after Orton on the outside, distracting Referee Mike Chioda and this led to Hennig hitting Rhodes from behind with a steel chair shot. DiBiase Jr. would then hit 'Dream Street,' his cobra clutch slam, to steal the upset win. WINNERS: LEGACY VIA PINFALL IN 12:15
LEGACY LAYS THEM OUT (81%) John Cena got back in the ring and evened the odds against DiBiase Jr. & Hennig. Cena had DiBiase Jr. up for an 'F-U' attempt but Randy Orton re-entered the ring and chopblocked Cena's leg. Using the same tactics as last night, Orton regained the upper hand for his group and Legacy started beating down Cena and Cody Rhodes. Eventually, Orton called for DiBiase and Hennig to pick each guy up and feed them to Orton. Orton would hit RKOs to both Rhodes and then Cena before lifting Cena's WWE Championship, as Legacy stood tall over the damage they did.

HBK says Triple H is a future first-ballot Hall of Famer but Hunter cuts Shawn off and tells him he doesn't understand. HHH then comes back with the fact that he's lost the last three times he's main-evented Mania. HBK tells Trips that it's not all about that and Hunter repeats the line saying that this is why Shawn doesn't get it. He says if Big Daddy V wants a shot at the Hardcore Title then he's got it. Miz finishes by telling Big Daddy V not to underestimate him because Miz went through hell just to get to this point. Miz gets passionate and mentions how he loves this business with all his heart and some people in the locker room didn't make it easy for him. He said he could have quit and maybe wanted to at times but Miz says this is in his blood and he will stop at nothing to continue to hold the Hardcore Title.
***MAIN EVENT*** MATCH 3: CM PUNK VS. PAUL BURCHILL VS. MIKE KNOX – MONEY IN THE BANK QUALIFYING MATCH (67%, 1.5*) The Main Event was the second Three-Way Dance featuring CM Punk, Paul Burchill, and a returning Mike Knox. Standard action happened over the first few minutes with Burchill and Knox forming an agreement to take out Punk. This worked for a bit as both men traded moves on Punk until Knox accidentally clotheslined Burchill, who was holding Punk up. Knox would then turn around to get hit with the 'GTS' and it was down to Punk and his old rival, Paul Burchill. Punk and Burchill went at it for a few more minutes and Punk was able to connect with his corner knee strike, followed by a bulldog. Punk went out to the apron to set up for his springboard clothesline when what do you know, Luke Gallows walked down the aisle. Punk saw Gallows and surprised him by jumping off the ropes backward onto him. Unfortunately for Punk, Gallows caught him and was going to throw him like a lawn dart into the steel ring post. Punk was able to slide out and cause the big man to run right into the post. Punk got back into the ring but met a big right boot from Burchill. Burchill picked Punk up and was going to set up the 'C4' but Gallows got his feet and tried to get in the ring. Senior Official Scott Armstrong went over to stop Gallows from getting in but he shoved the ref to the ground. Burchill was distracted by this and the slight hesitation allowed Punk to recover and send Burchill into Gallows. The two bonked heads and Burchill stumbled around into a 'GTS.' Punk made the cover and got the win before hightailing it out of the ring before Gallows could get to him. Punk had his hand raised by Armstrong at the top of the ramp as he smirked towards Gallows, who smacked the ring with his hand. WINNER: CM PUNK VIA PINFALL IN 12:51

Smackdown!February 29, 2008 Boise, ID END THE STREAK! (92%) Smackdown! begins this week with “Metalingus” by Alter Bridge hitting. Edge and The Rated-R Entourage, Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder, make their way out to the ring and Edge does not look like he is in the mood. Edge grabs a mic and yells out The Undertaker's name right away. Edge says that he knows what he has to do..."DEADMAN...I WANT YOU AT WRESTLEMANIA!" Michael Cole and Ernest 'The Cat' Miller are surprised by the challenge and Edge continues on. Edge says that Taker took away his chance of main-eventing WrestleMania so now he's going to take away the streak. Of course, this is the undefeated WrestleMania streak The Undertaker has, which is currently at 15-0. Edge says that he has a streak of his own and that he's never been lost at WrestleMania himself. This is not entirely true as he was in the Money In The Bank Ladder Match last year in which Jeff Hardy took him out by splashing on him off a ladder through a ladder. However, Edge has won every other match at WrestleMania and has never been pinned or submitted. Edge lays out the challenge and wants to be the one to end it for Taker. Edge says that he is a legend and that this will solidify it when he does something that 15 men have not been able to do. So it looks like the challenge has been made, will The Undertaker accept?
MATCH 1: MATT HARDY VS. FINLAY – MONEY IN THE BANK QUALIFYING MATCH (69%, 2*) The first of three Money In The Bank Qualifiers on the Smackdown! side was next as Matt Hardy took on Finlay. These two have had some history in the past and it led to a hard-nosed battle with the additional stakes on the line. Finlay was grounding Hardy and laying in shots when Matt turned the match around by hitting a sleeper slam on 'The Belfast Bruiser.' Hardy would go on to hit his signature corner clothesline/bulldog combo but Finlay moved on the diving leg drop. Finlay applied the 'Celtic Knot' modified Indian Deathlock on Hardy and after a minute or so, Hardy was somehow able to get to the ropes to break it. Finlay then hit a shin breaker to continue working on Hardy's leg but when he tried to finish him off with the 'Celtic Cross,' Hardy slid his way out and countered into a 'Side Effect.' Hardy waited for Finlay to get up and got him with the 'Twist of Fate' to get the win and join his brother in the Money In The Bank Match at WrestleMania XXIV. WINNER: MATT HARDY VIA PINFALL IN 9:02
I WILL NEVER RETIRE! (95%) A video package plays next of the Batista/Ric Flair situation from last week. Batista announced Flair as the newest member of the WWE Hall of Fame but Flair realized this was also a hint from 'The Animal' to retire, which angered him. The end result is now a Batista vs. Ric Flair WrestleMania XXIV Match with the career of 'The Nature Boy' on the line.
Y2J GIVES HIS THOUGHTS (86%) Josh Mathews is shown backstage as he calls in the World Heavyweight Champion, 'Y2J' Chris Jericho. Jericho is asked about Ric Flair as it is revealed that 'The Nature Boy' has challenged Y2J to a non-title match for next week's Smackdown! Jericho talks about how much he respects Flair and how much it means to him that he could potentially be facing him in one of his final matches. Jericho hopes that's not the case but he tells Flair that he's not going to take it easy on the old man. Y2J says he needs to go into Mania firing on all cylinders so while Flair makes for a great story, it's not going to come at his expense.
MATCH 2: THE AMAZING RED VS. TJ WILSON W/DH SMITH & NATALYA NEIDHART (56%, 1.5*) The second match of the night featured some cruiserweight action, as the champ, The Amazing Red, took on TJ Wilson from The Hart Dynasty. The two showed great sportsmanship by pounding fists when the bell rang and both men went all out in the fast-paced match. Highlights included Wilson hitting a nasty-looking swinging neckbreaker, Red hitting a satellite DDT, and Red catching Wilson outside with a corkscrew moonsault after he did a cartwheel and leaped over the top rope. Wilson did regain control by catching Red with a kick to the head but when he went for the kill with his springboard elbow drop, Red moved out of the way. Red then finished the match with his 'Code Red' sunset flip powerbomb to get the win. Post-match, the two shook hands, and DH Smith and Natalya Neidhart, who were at ringside for the match, nodded in respect towards the Cruiserweight Champion. WINNER: THE AMAZING RED VIA PINFALL IN 7:47
30 DAYS AWAY! (92%) A promo video for WrestleMania XXIV is played next with “Hell Yeah” by Rev Theory in the background. 'The Showcase of the Immortals' is just 30 days away!
HOMETOWN HERO (78%) Halfway through the show, after coming back from a break, the music of TORRIE WILSON! hits and the crowd goes wild. Torrie's hometown is right here in Boise, Idaho and she is back after a couple-month hiatus. Torrie talks to the crowd and has fun with them until she is interrupted by Talia Madison. Talia walks out with a microphone and says that no one cares about Torrie Wilson anymore. After getting in the ring, she tells Torrie that she's old news and is overstaying her welcome in WWE. Torrie tells Talia if she feels that way that she can try and make her leave. The two drop their mics and talk trash in each other's faces before Talia slaps Torrie across the face. Torrie then hits a double-leg takedown and the two start rolling around and fighting. Moments later, Layla & Brooke come out and it turns into a 3-on-1 when Ashley Massaro and Divas Champion, Michelle McCool even the odds. Torrie, Ashley, and Michelle were coming out on the better end of the brawl until Victoria came out of nowhere and knocked McCool down from behind. This led to the heel team of Divas beating up on the trio until backstage staff and road agents came down to stop the madness.
MATCH 3: JBL VS. HARDCORE HOLLY – MONEY IN THE BANK QUALIFYING MATCH (74%, 2.5*) JBL took on ECW's Hardcore Holly for another spot in the Money In The Bank Match at WrestleMania XXIV. Both men were very physical in this match and there were a lot of blows being exchanged. Holly would actually hit an 'Alabama Slam' on JBL but Bradshaw just barely kicked out. The ending came when Holly sent JBL off the ropes and JBL hooked the ropes to stop, causing Holly to whiff on a dropkick. When Holly got back to his feet, JBL ran off the ropes and nailed him with a 'Clothesline From Hell' to secure the victory. WINNER: JBL VIA PINFALL IN 7:38
REY & BATISTA CHAT (86%) A shot goes backstage to the locker room where Batista and Rey Mysterio are catching up. Batista congratulates Mysterio on his WrestleMania Main Even Match and jokes that he could be the first to get a crack at the World Title after Rey beats Y2J. Rey then asks Batista what is going on between him and Ric Flair. Batista's mood changes and he tells Rey he doesn't want to talk about it. Rey says fine but he wonders himself why Batista no longer believes in 'The Nature Boy.' Batista tells Rey to give it up and Mysterio leaves.
MATCH 4: THE STAR SQUAD [NICK NEMETH & KENNY DYKSTRA] VS. LOS MAXIMOS [JOSE & JOEL MAXIMO] (56%, 1.5*) Tag team action is next as The Star Squad face-off against Los Maximos. Jose and Joel are two young brothers who have wrestled in a few different promotions in the past and they get a tryout tonight as Nick Nemeth and Kenny Dykstra have a tune-up match a week before getting a WWE Tag Team Title Match against The Rated-R Entourage. Los Maximos were very impressive, catching The Star Squad a bit off guard with their innovative double-team moves. Eventually, Dykstra got control of the match and after Nemeth knocked Jose off the apron in a cheap shot, Dykstra dropped Joel with a scoop slam and went to the top rope to hit his signature guillotine leg drop to get the W. WINNERS: THE STAR SQUAD VIA PINFALL IN 5:02
A BIG CHALLENGE! (84%) Josh Mathews is backstage and this time he has The Big Show. Show walks into frame and Mathews asks him about the words of 'The World's Strongest Man' Mark Henry. Show then mentions how Henry has the United States Championship and challenges him to a title match NEXT WEEK!
THE MOSCOW MAULER (84%) Returning from a commercial break, we get another video package highlighting 'The Moscow Mauler' Kozlov. Kozlov has been on a tear since coming to Smackdown! What is next for the ruthless Russian?
***MAIN EVENT*** MATCH 5: MVP VS. KANE – MONEY IN THE BANK QUALIFYING MATCH (72%, 2.5*) The Main Event was for the final spot in the Money In The Bank Match at WrestleMania XXIV as MVP took on 'The Big Red Machine' Kane. Kane dominated this match for the most part other than a couple of times where MVP used some cheap moves, like hanging Kane's neck over the top rope as Kane tried to pull MVP back into the ring over the top rope. Kane was setting up for a Chokeslam when Zack Ryder ran down to the ring and appeared on the apron. Kane punched him off but Curt Hawkins was also in the frame. He tried getting on the apron but Referee Nick Patrick handled him. This all turned out to be a part of the plan as Edge appeared from out of nowhere and cut Kane in half with a Spear. MVP crawled and put a hand over Kane to steal the victory. WINNER: MVP VIA PINFALL IN 11:09
THE DEADMAN COMETH (96%) MVP rolled out of the ring and was shocked he had won the match. The Rated-R Entourage began a beatdown on Kane when the gong went off and the lights went out. When the lights came back on, Kane was no longer in the ring and it spooked the hell out of Edge, Hawkins, and Ryder. The lights then went down again and the titantron started playing a video. It was an eerie highlight package as the past victims of The Undertaker's streak were shown with a gong going off with every match. When it got to the end, it showed the WrestleMania XXIV logo and showed times when The Undertaker hit Edge with a finishing move before 'The Deadman' said “REST...IN...PEACE!!!” The video ended with static and then lighting bolts hit the ring posts, spooking the trio once again. Smackdown! ended with Michael Cole saying that Edge may regret the day he challenged The Undertaker at WrestleMania.
FINAL SD! RATING (79% – 3.02 MILLION VIEWERS)-------------------- (OOC: We're getting there! Now that all of the big matches have been set, I'll shave down some detail going forward. I just really wanted to make sure the story beats were fully told for the two titles matches and the 3 premiere non-title matches. I've also figured out a fun way to throw some variables in so both MoonchildRoddy and armandopayne94 check your DM's!)

Things are looking really good as we enter the month of WrestleMania. Like I thought, Batista is the one going against Flair this time and, wow, HHH vs. HBK is finally happening at Mania (one-on-one). Jericho vs. Rey Rey has the potential to be a show stealer (I really liked their 2009 feud), but it's probably a B match looking at the rest of the card announced so far. Not from my personal perspective, though.
I wonder if the big name you're going to use at Mania is the same used in real life (Floyd) or if you're bringing another wrestling legend to the roster. I'm excited!

RAWMarch 3, 2008 Indianapolis, IN THE COACH IS BACK (74%) RAW starts with Lillian Garcia announcing the return of RAW General Manager, Jonathan Coachman. Coach was RKO'ed by Randy Orton back in December but is back. Coach actually gets a few cheers mixed in with boos as he speaks to the WWE fans. Coach says he's back but the music of Armando Alejandro Estrada hits and the interim GM makes his way out. Estrada welcomes Coach back but then says that he's taken the GM role over and Coach is no longer needed. Coach is confused but Estrada said Mr. McMahon made that decision after seeing how good he was doing in the role. Coach argues with Armando until he gets slapped in the face. Estrada tells Coach he's sorry as Coach looks to go after Estrada but the music of 'The Samoan Bulldozer' Umaga hits. Coach turns his back to Estrada with Umaga coming down to the ring and Armando hits Coach from behind, knocking him down. Umaga then gets in the ring and beats Coach down, hitting him with a 'Samoan Drop,' a 'Samoan Spike,' and finishing Coach off by dragging him into the corner and hitting a running hip attack. Road agents and medical staff come down to the ring to escort Umaga and Estrada to the back and peel Coach off the canvas.
MATCH 1: CANDICE MICHELLE VS. MELINA (60%, 0.5*) The opening match for RAW was between Candice Michelle and Melina. Melina blamed Candice for ruining her chance to go to WrestleMania after Candice broke up Melina's closest chance to win the 6-Pack Challenge last week. Good back-and-forth action in this match that ended with Candice surprising Melina with an unorthodox roll-up pin to get the win. WINNER: CANDICE MICHELLE VIA PINFALL IN 7:05
POST-MATCH CHAOS (73%) Candice was not able to celebrate her win as she was attacked from behind by Melina as soon as her hand was raised. Melina started to beat up Candice until Kelly Kelly ran down to the ring to make the save. Maryse then made an appearance and all 4 women were fighting. The road agents were busy at work tonight as they came back down to separate both pairs of girls.
MATCH 2: CARLITO & PRIMO VS. THE WORLD'S GREATEST TAG TEAM [SHELTON BENJAMIN & CHARLIE HAAS] (65%, 2*) The World's Greatest Tag Team took on Carlito & Primo next stemming from the brothers ruining Shelton Benjamin & Charlie Haas' tag title match. Standard tag action for the majority of the contest. The ending came with Primo and Haas in the ring. Haas hit an exploder suplex and went to tag in Benjamin but Carlito went to the other side and yanked Shelton off the apron. Benjamin took care of Carlito but the delay allowed Primo to dropkick Haas, knocking him into Benjamin, who just got back up on the apron. Primo hit a backslide pin and put his feet on the middle rope for leverage to get the three. Referee Jack Doan did not see and the brothers picked up the win. WINNERS: CARLITO & PRIMO VIA PINFALL IN 10:17
WHO IS MR. WRESTLEMANIA? (85%) A video promo highlighting last week when 'The Heartbreak Kid' Shawn Michaels challenged his longtime friend and rival 'The Game' Triple H to a 1-on-1 match at WrestleMania XXIV. MATCH 3: CHRIS HARRIS W/LANCE CADE VS. SANTINO MARELLA W/MARIA (58%, 0.5*) 'Wildcat' Chris Harris took on Santino Marella in the next match. Lance Cade, with his arm still in a small cast, and Maria were at ringside to support their respective partners. Santino yelled at Maria last week and this week Cade caused a distraction by harassing Maria. Maria slapped Cade in the face and Santino put his arms out and asked Maria what was she doing. Santino then turned around to get hit with a big boot by Harris, and 'Wildcat' put Santino away with a 'Catatonic.' After the match, Maria gets in the ring and checks on Santino like last week. Santino shoos her away and then asks for a mic. Santino yells at Maria again and says that he's had enough. Santino says Maria is no good for nothing and that they are finished. A heartbroken Maria is left crying in the ring as Santino storms up the ramp to boos. WINNER: CHRIS HARRIS VIA PINFALL IN 8:52

Just as soon as Drew begs Estrada for a piece of him, Booker and Sharmell show up as well. Regal holds McIntyre back as Booker says he also wants a piece of Drew and that Intercontinental Championship. McIntyre yelled that Booker doesn't deserve a shot and Booker goads him into accepting a title match. Estrada tells everyone to quiet down and says that next week McIntyre will defend his Intercontinental Championship against Booker T.
MATCH 4: LEGACY [TED DIBIASE JR. & JOE HENNIG] VS. CRYME TYME [SHAD & JTG] (57%, 0.5*) Legacy took on Cryme Tyme next as Ted DiBiase Jr. and Joe Hennig looked to continue their impressive starts to their career. Cryme Tyme was doing a great job to show the newcomers some “respect” hitting some nice moves. Legacy started to control the match and isolate JTG from his corner for a bit. Shad got a hot tag and went on a flurry, knocking both members of Legacy down. At one point in the match, Ted DiBiase Jr. exposed the top turnbuckle but Referee Chad Patton hastily put it back. When Shad tagged JTG back in, this led to the finish as Hennig was in the same corner and removed the pad without anyone noticing. He then played possum by resting in the corner and when JTG charged to hit a running splash, Hennig moved and JTG bounced his head right off the exposed buckle. JTG turned right into a 'Perfect Plex' by Hennig and as he bridged JTG to get the pin, Shad's leg was held by DiBiase Jr., preventing him from breaking up the count. WINNERS: LEGACY VIA PINFALL IN 9:27
CAN MICKIE DO IT? (73%) Mickie James was backstage with Todd Grisham, who asked about facing Beth Phoenix for the Women's Championship at WrestleMania XXIV. Mickie says that Beth has been downright dominant since arriving on the scene but Mickie is used to this moment. Mickie then reminds everyone that not a soul believed she would be Trish Stratus in her first 'Mania match a couple of years back but she did just that. Mickie says she knows it won't be easy but she's going to train her ass off to take that title off of 'The Glamazon' at WrestleMania.
***MAIN EVENT*** MATCH 5: JEFF HARDY VS. BOBBY LASHLEY (61%, 2*) Jeff Hardy took on Bobby Lashley in the RAW Main Event! Both guys will take part in the Money In The Bank Match at WrestleMania XXIV. After just a couple of minutes of action, Mr. Kennedy's music hit and the other RAW representative in the MITB watched from ringside. Kennedy was having fun watching the two hit moves on each other, playing along with both the crowd and commentators when an impactful move was hit. Both Hardy and Lashley gave Kennedy glances but Kennedy claimed his innocence. A solid 10 minutes elapsed in the match and Hardy hit Lashley with 'Whisper In The Wind.' Hardy then took off his shirt and went to the top rope to go for a 'Swanton Bomb' but Kennedy shoved an unsuspecting Hardy off the ropes and Jeff crashed face-first off the ringside barricade. Referee Mike Chioda rang the bell and yelled at Kennedy but Kennedy took the opportunity to blindside Lashley with a 'Mic Check.' Kennedy's music hit as the loudmouth stood tall. RESULT: NO CONTEST VIA INTERFERENCE IN 10:46
CENA/ORTON CONTRACT SIGNING (88%) The final segment of the night was the WrestleMania XXIV WWE Championship Contract Signing between the champion, John Cena, and the challenger, Randy Orton. RAW Interim GM, Armando Alejandro Estrada was already in the ring, standing in front of the table with the contract on it. Estrada introduces both Cena and Orton, and Randy came out with the rest of Legacy. Once in the ring, Estrada asked Orton to sign first and Orton happily obliged. Orton then picked up the mic and told Cena that he's just made it official. “In 27 days...the 'Age of Orton' begins.” Estrada then asks Cena to sign the contract and John looks at it funny before offering his own words. Cena sarcastically chuckles and asks Orton if he doesn't believe in himself. Orton is confused but Cena lets us all know that he glanced over the contract and couldn't help but notice it said 'No-Disqualification.' Cena tells Orton if he was a real man, he'd fight him straight up and not with help from his little lackeys. This comment gets Ted DiBiase Jr. and Joe Hennig riled up but Orton tells them to relax. Cena then gets the crowd to chant a not-so-nice term towards Orton, regarding his cowardice, and Orton yells at the crowd to shut it. Orton then turns the tables on John and asks if Cena is worried that the championship is slipping away. Orton says it's inevitable that come WrestleMania, Randy Orton will be your WWE Champion. Cena, who never backs down from a fight, grabs the contract and goes to start to sign it when...“No Chance In Hell” hits and MR. MCMAHON makes his way out! Orton and Legacy can't believe it and Estrada looks uncomfortable as the Chairman enters the ring. Estrada starts to say something to Vince and Mr. McMahon yells at him to shut up. Vince tells Estrada to get out of the ring before grabbing the contract and ripping it up. Orton was going to say something but Vince cut him off and told him that he will sign this contract. Vince pulls out a paper from his suit pocket and slams it on the table. Vince tells Orton that Randy wants to 'RKO' him on the stage and put me in the hospital, well at WrestleMania, Legacy is BANNED from ringside. The crowd cheers and Cena is loving the news. Mr. McMahon says if either one of DiBiase Jr. or Hennig gets involved, Orton will be automatically disqualified. Orton is irate and gets up in Vince's face but Mr. McMahon dares him to lay a hand on him because if he does that, he won't even have his match. Orton calms down and eventually signs the contract before leaving the ring in a huff. Cena signs it and lifts his title up in the air as he and Orton talk trash to each other as Orton and crew walk back up the ramp.

MATCH 1: THE MIZ © VS. BIG DADDY V W/MATT STRIKER – HARDCORE CHAMPIONSHIP (66%, 0.5*) The opening contest was the Hardcore Championship Match that The Miz accepted from Big Daddy V. Miz was able to keep the big man at bay, using a plethora of weapons to stagger and at one point, knock down Big Daddy V. Miz hit a DDT on a stop sign for a two-count. Matt Striker helped turn the tide by hitting an unsuspecting Miz with a kendo stick as he went off the ropes. Big Daddy V then took control and rammed Miz back-first into a trash can that was propped up in the corner. Big Daddy V controlled traffic and had Matt Striker set up a table on the outside. Big Daddy V beat up Miz and placed him on the table before climbing up the steps and getting on top of the apron. The big man looked to end the match with a big splash through the table but Miz got up and knocked out Striker with a punch. Miz got on the apron but Big Daddy V got him up and it appeared he was going to slam him through the table but Miz slipped out and ended up back in the ring. Chavo is not phased and jokes with Luke Gallows that he will take care of whoever it is. Moments later, an angry Paul Burchill enters the office and points at Gallows. Burchill says Luke cost him his shot at the Money In The Bank and he wants something to be done about it. Chavo tries to make a snide remark and Burchill challenges him to an ECW Title Match. Chavo says no way but Foley says he loves the idea and the match will happen tonight! Chavo can't believe it and Burchill says he'll be happy to represent ECW at WrestleMania.
MATCH 2: KOFI KINGSTON VS. CHRIS MASTERS (59%, 1.5*) The young upstart, Kofi Kingston took on 'The Masterpiece' Chris Masters in Kofi's toughest test yet. Kofi started the match off hot, using his erratic style of offense on Masters, which included the jumping double leg drop where Kingston got massive air. Masters turned it around and roughed up Kofi for a bit but Kingston ducked a 'Polish Hammer' attempt by 'The Masterpiece' and knocked him down with a jumping clothesline. Kingston started to clap his hands together, setting up for 'Trouble In Paradise' but Masters ducked and started to apply 'The Masterlock.' Masters struggled to get the full nelson applied and Kofi was able to somehow turn it into a really crazy pinning attempt to steal the victory. Kofi celebrated the win before quickly exiting the ring to avoid an attack from a stunned Masters. WINNER: KOFI KINGSTON VIA PINFALL IN 8:17
A PASSIONATE PLEA (80%) Back in Mick Foley's office, Tommy Dreamer enters and wants to talk to Mick. Dreamer asks for an opportunity at the ECW Championship and tells Foley it would mean the world to him to have a shot at winning the title. ***MAIN EVENT*** MATCH 3: CHAVO GUERRERO © W/LUKE GALLOWS VS. PAUL BURCHILL – ECW CHAMPIONSHIP (70%, 2*) The ECW Championship was on the line in the Main Event as Chavo Guerrero took on Paul Burchill. Of course, Chavo's new weapon, the 'Plan B' Luke Gallows was at ringside but for the majority of the match, he did not get involved. It was a straight fight between the two and both men had control of the match at certain points. Towards the end of the match, Chavo tried to go for the 'Three Amigos' but Burchill countered after the second one and hit an inverted sitout suplex slam. Burchill then set up Chavo and nailed him with the 'C4.' Burchill made the pin...1...2...and NO! Chavo got his foot on the bottom rope...but it was Gallows who placed it there. Burchill sensed Gallows did it and started yelling at Gallows. Burchill was going to go out after him but thought better of it because a fight with Gallows would mean a DQ and no title change. Burchill entered back in the ring but Chavo kicked him in the face as he went through the ropes to get back in the ring. Burchill was out and Chavo went to the top to hit a Frog Splash and get the victory. WINNER: CHAVO GUERRERO VIA PINFALL IN 11:02
HEART AND SOUL OF ECW (80%) Chavo's music plays as he and Gallows celebrate another title defense. Gallows actually puts Chavo on his shoulders and lifts him up so Chavo can hold the title high but his celebration is short-lived as the music of ECW GM, Mick Foley plays and Foley comes out on stage. Foley sarcastically congratulates Chavo for winning again but says he has his WrestleMania opponent in mind. Foley says the match will be contested under 'Extreme Rules' and who better to fight for the ECW Title at WrestleMania than 'The Heart and Soul of ECW,' TOMMY DREAMER!!! Dreamer's music hits and he comes out on stage and hugs Foley. Chavo doesn't look thrilled as the crowd chants Dreamer over and over, making Tommy get emotional as ECW comes to an end.

Edge stops Mathews and tells him to pipe down but Mathews probes and asks Edge if he has any regrets in challenging 'The Phenom.' Edge says that others are afraid of Taker because he plays mind games but Edge sees right through them. Edge says last week, he was just a little shocked, not spooked. He yells at Mathews to not get it twisted and guarantees he will end the streak at WrestleMania.
MATCH 2: ASHLEY MASSARO & TORRIE WILSON VS. LAYLA & BROOKE (63%, 1.5*) Divas tag team action was next stemming from the big brawl a week ago as Ashley Massaro and Torrie Wilson, who returned last week, took on the team of Layla & Brooke. Standard tag team action in this one as all 4 ladies got some offense in. Torrie was getting isolated by Layla & Brooke until she made a hot tag to Ashley, who took on both ladies. Eventually, Ashley tried to go to the top rope for her 'Starstruck' elbow drop but Layla tried to stop her. This is when Torrie came over to stop Layla and knock her down with a clothesline. Brooke tried to hit a superplex on Ashley but Massaro knocked her off the ropes and connected with the elbow drop to get the win. WINNERS: ASHLEY MASSARO & TORRIE WILSON VIA PINFALL IN 6:09
ARRIVING WITH FLAIR (85%) A shot goes backstage where we see a limo pull up. 'The Nature Boy' Ric Flair gets out of it decked out in a suit and his signature glasses. Flair will take on the World Heavyweight Champion, Chris Jericho in tonight's Main Event!
MATCH 3: SONNY SIAKI VS. FUNAKI (59%, 1*) Cruiserweight action came next between Sonny Siaki and Funaki. Siaki was looking to continue his momentum in hopes of a title match down the line and he did so with a very impressive showing against Funaki. Funaki was never really able to get out of the blocks as Siaki had a counter to everything he threw at him, keeping Funaki from building any real momentum. Funaki did hit a Tornado DDT at one point but got a near-fall. Funaki tried to hit a diving crossbody but Siaki showed great power by rolling through and he turned it right into the 'Siakalypse Now' to get the win. WINNER: SONNY SIAKI VIA PINFALL IN 4:56
A PROMISE MADE (78%) Josh Mathews was backstage with Rey Mysterio and asked him if he would be scouting tonight's Main Event. Mysterio talked about how excited he is to see the matchup when MVP interrupted the interview. Rey asks MVP what he wants and MVP tells him that he just wants to give Rey a friendly warning. MVP continues and says at WrestleMania, he will be winning the Money In The Bank briefcase, so whether it's Rey or Y2J, MVP may just cash-in on 'The Grandest Stage of 'Em All.'
MATCH 4: THE RATED-R ENTOURAGE [CURT HAWKINS & ZACK RYDER] VS. THE STAR SQUAD [NICK NEMETH & KENNY DYKSTRA] – WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP (51%, 0*) The WWE Tag Team Championships were on the line next as The Rated-R Entourage of Curt Hawkins & Zack Ryder took on The Star Squad of Nick Nemeth & Kenny Dykstra. However, this one would be cut very short as after Hawkins & Ryder hit a couple of double-team moves to establish control, the familiar gong went off and the lights went out in the arena. Then instead of the lights just turning back on, the ringposts had fire shooting out of them as KANE and THE UNDERTAKER appeared in the middle of the ring. Each member of The Brothers of Destruction grabbed an Entourage member and chokeslammed them, causing a DQ finish. WINNER: THE RATED-R ENTOURAGE VIA DISQUALIFICATION IN 4:12
TOTAL DESTRUCTION (87%) The destruction didn't stop there as The Star Squad was not happy with The Brothers of Destruction, and Kenny Dykstra hit Kane from behind. This, of course, didn't phase 'The Big Red Machine' and he turned around to grab Kenny by the throat. Nick Nemeth also tried hitting The Undertaker from the top rope but Taker caught him around the throat on the way down and Kane & Taker hit another set of stereo chokeslams. Edge then appeared and tried to sneak his way into the ring but both Kane & Taker saw it. Edge then tried to pull his guys out but Kane & Taker walked over and caused Edge to back off. The Brothers of Destruction then picked up each member again and hit stereo 'Tombstone Piledrivers' sending a message to Edge.
JBL = $$$ (79%) A video promo plays featuring JBL, resembling a presidential campaign commercial as JBL talks about winning the Money In The Bank Match at WrestleMania. The voice-over calls JBL a 'Wrestling God' and shows clips of when he was at one time the WWE Champion. The voiceover also calls JBL a proud champion and one who will restore class and prestige to the World Title. The ad finishes with JBL's initials in big letters on the screen that spun and changed back and forth between the letters JBL and dollar signs. JBL says he is the Wrestling God, and he approves this message.
***MAIN EVENT*** MATCH 5: CHRIS JERICHO VS. RIC FLAIR (88%, 3*) The highly anticipated Main Event was next as 'Y2J' Chris Jericho took on 'The Nature Boy' Ric Flair in a non-title contest. Flair asked for this match to prove to Batista that he still can go, and what better way to show it against the current World Heavyweight Champion. Flair started the match off with the advantage, knocking Y2J around with a plethora of chops. Jericho assumed control for a bit until Flair was backed into the corner. Y2J hit a couple of chops himself but Flair ducked his head under the rope and Referee Charles Robinson asked Jericho to back up. When Jericho walked back towards Flair, he got a dirty thumb in the eye. Flair then hit a shin breaker before locking in a 'Figure-Four.' Jericho struggled for over a minute but eventually flipped over the reverse the pressure and cause a break. Jericho then caught Flair with the 'Walls of Jericho' and had him locked in until Flair clawed his way to the bottom rope. After a back-and-forth of punches and chops, Flair rebounded off the ropes, only to be hit with a back body drop. Y2J then hit a 'Lionsault' but 'The Nature Boy' kicked out. Jericho was starting to get frustrated with not being able to put Flair away and attempted the 'Walls' again but this time Flair turned it into a small package...1...2...and Jericho just barely escapes. Flair hit a couple more chops and asked for a receipt, which Jericho did in the form of a slap across the face. Flair charged Jericho but got hit with a 'Codebreaker.' Jericho went for the pin but Flair got his foot on the bottom rope at the last second to stay alive. An angered Jericho had the look that it was time to finish this and grabbed Flair and pulled him towards the middle of the ring before turning him over into the 'Walls of Jericho' again. Flair wasn't giving up and eventually 'The Animal' Batista came to ringside and asked for Referee Charles Robinson to call for the bell but Flair defiantly yelled no until he eventually passed out and the match was awarded to Jericho. WINNER: CHRIS JERICHO VIA SUBMISSION IN 15:21
BOILING POINT (92%) Batista charged the ring right away and shoved Jericho, who said Flair didn't want to give up and he was only doing what he needed to do to win the match. Jericho leaves, a bit frustrated despite the win, and then Batista helps Flair up. 'The Animal' can be heard telling Flair that he doesn't have anything else to prove and he has to know his limit and when his time is up. Flair then slaps Batista across the face again and enrages 'The Animal.' In a quick “heat of the moment” decision, Batista picks up Flair and slams him with a spinebuster. The crowd is shocked and boos Batista, and moments after impact, Batista has his head in his hands, instantly regretting the action. Smackdown! ends with Batista upset at himself for what he's done to Flair.
FINAL SD! RATING (79% – 3.28 MILLION VIEWERS) -------------------- (OOC: Yes, I know...I brought Vince back...I had to pay that off and now Cena/Orton will surely be a clean fight (lol). Also what will happen with the RAW GM position??? Tommy Dreamer gets the sentimental Mania Title Match and Batista/Flair adds another layer while Taker plays mind games with Edge.)
