WWE '07

On June 25th, 2007, one night after the Vengeance: Night of Champions PPV, the wrestling world was turned upside down as tragedy struck the WWE. In an incomprehensible action, one of the sports greatest was gone. The action ruined his amazing legacy, and worst of all, ended the lives of his wife and young son. The news shook the whole world, and it was uncertain whether professional wrestling would ever be the same again. After some time to collect thoughts, the old adage rung true:

"The Show Must Go On!"

(OOC: This will be my first diary as I navigate the waters after the tragedy. I will start off in July 2007, with Monday Night RAW being the first show. Pro Wrestling Sim is the game being used and I have done the best I can to edit the "New Breed" mod by Tachty to have the exact roster and alignment going into the July 2nd RAW. There may be minor changes, but I loved this time period [2002-2008ish was awesome] so hopefully I do it justice! Also credit to various graphic packs (TEW and PWS) for the pictures I will be using. I will not be using wrestler pictures though, just for the sheer fact of how time consuming that will be. The next couple of posts will cover roster, events, and championships. Anyway, I've been reading everyone else's diaries and you all do such a good job that it inspired me to give it a whirl! Enjoy!)

Monday Night RAW
July 2, 2007
Dallas, Texas

(OOC: Welcome to the first show in my diary! My plan is to describe each segment/match on the TV shows with some detail and highlight important dialogue and maneuvers. I will always go over the final moments of a match and for PPVs, I will have more detailed match write-ups. I also may use OOC throughout to explain my booking decisions and give any extra reasons why I went a certain way [injuries, for example]. Enjoy and HAPPY NEW YEAR!)

Monday Night RAW kicks off with the WWE Champion, John Cena. Cena welcomes the Dallas crowd before talking about his title defense at Vengeance: Night of Champions. Cena says they put four incredible opponents up against him at the same time, but just like always, at the end of the day: "THE CHAMP IS STILL HERE!!!"

Mr. Kennedy's music then hits and the former Money in the Bank (MITB) briefcase holder makes his way
to the ring with a scowl on his face. Kennedy says he was screwed out of the MITB and he blamed the WWE doctors for giving him an incorrect diagnosis for how long he would be out of action. Kennedy said that "the fix was in," and that he is going to "right the wrongs" by challenging Cena to a title shot.

Before Cena can retort, King Booker's music hits and the royal one graced the Dallas crowd with his presence. Booker states his claim for his own title shot, mentioning that he was not the one who was pinned to the canvas, and now Randy Orton has something to say as his theme hits and he saunters down to the squared circle. Orton runs down both Kennedy and Booker before locking eyes with Cena and saying that "deep down, you know that I'm the only one who deserves a title shot."

The three heels bicker and then the RAW General Manager, Jonathan Coachman, walks out on the stage. Coach says that by the end of the night we will have a #1 Contender for the WWE Title, and that the match will take place at The Great American Bash. Coach goes on to make the main event match for tonight's RAW as Mr. Kennedy, Randy Orton, King Booker...and BOBBY LASHLEY will compete in a Fatal Four Way match for the chance to face Cena at the Bash!

The crowd pops, Cena is amused, and the heels look upset with the addition of Lashley to the match.

The camera cuts to the announce table and Jim Ross and Jerry "The King" Lawler show their excitement for tonight's main event.
They then run down the rest of tonight's card and the graphics pop-up on the screen. On tonight's RAW, there will be two championship matches as Santino Marella defends his Intercontinental Championship vs "The Samoan Bulldozer" Umaga, and the new Women's Champion, Candice Michelle, grants Melina her rematch.

Match #1
Jeff Hardy vs. William Regal

The opening contest on Monday Night RAW featured the high-flying daredevil, Jeff Hardy, and the Blackpool brawler, William Regal. Regal was just drafted to RAW a few weeks ago and is looking to make his mark. Regal was in ho hurry though, pacing around deliberately. He knew that a fast-paced match would favor Hardy. Hardy would hit a quick flurry of offense that included an enziguri, followed by his signature double leg drop to Regal's midsection. Regal would regain control and slow the match down with an abdominal stretch, but Hardy fought out until his momentum was halted by a stiff clothesline. The ending came when Regal was setting up for a knee trembler. Hardy moved and hit a couple of forearms, springing off the ropes, and then hit his patented sit out jawbreaker. With Regal in position, Hardy climbed to the top rope and hit a Swanton Bomb for the victory. (9:27)

The camera cuts backstage to Todd Grisham, who is standing by with Bobby Lashley. Grisham asks Lashley about his thoughts on the #1 Contender Fatal Four Way match tonight, and Lashley says he is "hungry." Lashley goes on to state how he never lost the ECW Championship, and that if it wasn't for some bogus made-up rule (Vince McMahon stripping him when he got drafted to RAW) that he'd still be the champion today. Lashley says that there will be "three victims" tonight, and that at the Great American Bash, "John Cena's year long title reign will also fall victim...to Lashley."

Match #2
Santino Marella (c) vs. Umaga w/Armando Alejandro Estrada
Intercontinental Championship

The rematch for the Intercontinental Championship was next as Santino Marella took on Umaga. Umaga was disqualified at Vengeance for not breaking the referee's five count as he continued to pummel Santino. Just like the PPV match, Santino was only able to muster a couple of rallies that would get squashed by Umaga before Santino would build too much momentum. Santino picked up steam one more time and lifted the big man up into a fireman's carry position, but Umaga elbowed him a couple times in the face to get off. Umaga then hit a swift side kick to the face and Santino was seated in the corner. This set up Umaga for his running hip attack and he nailed Santino with one. Armando Estrada then directed "The Samoan Bulldozer" to hit a second hip attack, and Umaga let out a primal scream before bashing in Santino's head again. The match was surely over after the first one and Umaga peeled Santino's lifeless body from the corner and covered him for the three count. (4:48)

WINNER (by Pinfall) and NEW Intercontinental Champion - Umaga

The camera cuts to the backstage area where "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes is catching up with Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat. Dusty is with his son, Cody Rhodes, and he introduces him to Steamboat. After shaking hands, Randy Orton enters the picture. Orton asks Dusty if he is going to introduce him to his kid, and after a reluctant stare by Dusty, Orton tells Cody that "one day you can become just like me...better than your father ever was." Orton then introduces himself as "Legend..." and then Orton pauses while he looks at Dusty and says "...Killer." Cody gets what Orton is hinting at and tells him to cool it to which Orton smirks at. Dusty tells Cody that Orton, as good as he is, is not the person you want to model yourself after because he is "disrespectful." Orton scoffs and says that's nothing before smacking Dusty right across the face! Dusty stumbles for a moment but holds back Cody from going at Orton. Orton walks away as Dusty holds his cheek and Cody is steaming.

Cryme Tyme (JTG & Shad) vs. The World's Greatest Tag Team (Benjamin & Haas)

The third match of the night pitted Cryme Tyme against The World's Greatest Tag Team (WGTT). The World Tag Team Champions, Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch were also present at ringside to watch. JTG and Charlie Haas started the bout and in the first part of the match WGTT did an excellent job of isolating JTG to their side of the ring. WGTT made constant tags and hit a couple of double-team moves. JTG would finally get a hot tag to Shad, and Shad started cleaning house knocking both Haas and Shelton Benjamin down with shoulder blocks before clotheslining Haas over the top rope. Shad went out to retrieve Haas, but Benjamin surprised the big man by running and hopping of the steel steps to hit a flying strike. Shad spilled over near the seated Tag Team Champs, and Trevor Murdoch talked trash to a downed Shad. When Shad got up, he shoved Murdoch, who almost fell off his chair. Later in the contest, JTG and Benjamin were the legal men and JTG was on fire. Haas tried to get in the ring, which prompted the referee to hold him back, and with his back turned, Lance Cade tripped JTG, who was running off the ropes. Shad, seeing this, went over the run the Tag Champs off, but as he did, Benjamin hit the T-Bone Suplex on JTG to get the win. (8:11)

Carlito is shown backstage and is complaining to Jillian Hall about having the face off against The Sandman tonight. Sandman was drafted to RAW and interrupted Carlito's promo a couple of weeks ago. Carlito is miffed about fighting the "beer-swelling idiot" as he feels it is beneath him as he's been recently fighting multi-time world champions, like Ric Flair. As he says that Sandman walks into the shot with a can of beer and his signature kendo stick. Sandman says that "it's true that I love beer...but it's also true that I love to fight." Carlito nods and says "that's cool," as he takes a bite out of his apple. He spits it all over Sandman's face, but Sandman remains unfazed. Sandman responds by saying "you think that's cool?" before chugging the rest of his beer and spitting it in Carlito's face! As Carlito wipes his eyes off with his shirt, Ron Simmons enters the shot. Simmons looks around for a few seconds before yelling DAMN! in Carlito's face.

Candice Michelle (c) vs. Melina
Women's Championship

The Women's Championship rematch from Vengeance was up next as the new champion, Candice Michelle defended against Melina as she wasted no time in invoking her rematch clause. Both ladies felt each other out for the first couple of minutes before Melina got the upper hand by nailing a cheap right on Candice as the ref was getting Candice to back off of Melina in the corner. Melina then grounded Candice and tried wearing her down in a body scissors submission. After a brief struggle, Candice would show some skill by reversing the submission into a pinfall attempt, forcing Melina to break the hold. Candice then went on a hot streak, culminating in a hurricanrana. The end came when Candice tried to go for her finisher (The Candy Wrapper aka Unprettier) but Melina shoved off and went for a roundhouse kick that Candice ducked, and Candice rolled up Melina to make her first successful defense. (10:21). Melina then threw a tantrum post-match.

WINNER (by Pinfall) and STILL Women's Champion - Candice Michelle

King Booker and Queen Sharmell are shown entering the office of RAW General Manager, Jonathan Coachman. Booker says he is "downcast for having to prove himself against three other peasants." Booker requests a one-on-one opportunity versus John Cena for the WWE Championship, but Coach is steadfast and says as much as he would like to give Booker that shot, he has to be fair. Booker then blurts out: "even Bobby Lashley?" Coach goes on to say that he wasn't the one that was pinned in the match (Mick Foley was) so that the logical thing is to allow everyone that didn't lose the match at Vengeance to get another shot. Coach says plus, it also gives the fans an entertaining main event. Booker is not thrilled and calls Coach "pedantic" before he and Queen Sharmell storm off.

Carlito vs. The Sandman

Carlito took on The Sandman next and Carlito wasted no time going after Sandman after being pissed about getting the beer spit in his face. Early on though, Carlito was perplexed by Sandman's unorthodox striking style. Eventually, Carlito was able to figure it out and hit a crisp sit out spinebuster, getting a two count. Carlito then followed it up with a swinging neckbreaker, but Sandman would not stay down. Sandman then got momentum and hit a nice flapjack. Carlito retreated into the corner to pull himself up and Sandman went after him. The referee checked on Carlito and told Sandman to hold off, which allowed Carlito to hit a blind low-blow leg kick. Sandman began to roll around in agony as the ref questioned Carlito who played dumb. As the ref and Carlito were arguing, Sandman rolled to the outside. Carlito went out to grab him, but when he went to turn Sandman around, he got cracked in the head with a kendo stick. Sandman had grabbed one under the ring as he was recovering from the low-blow and nailed him, getting disqualified in the process. (6:46). Sandman did not care however, and then used his kendo stick to hit an assisted White Russian Leg Sweep to Carlito on the floor.

Bobby Lashley vs. Randy Orton vs. Mr. Kennedy vs. King Booker (w/Queen Sharmell)
WWE Championship #1 Contenders Fatal Four Way Match

Back from commercial break, the Monday Night RAW Main Event was next as four men would battle to see who would get the next shot at John Cena and the WWE Championship. After about 10 minutes of normal action, with each performer getting a chance to shine, the match broke down into absolute chaos. While King Booker and Bobby Lashley were slugging it out on the outside, Randy Orton hit a rope-hung DDT on Mr. Kennedy. Orton was then waiting for Kennedy to rise to his feet so he could deliver an RKO but all of a sudden Orton is getting attacked! It's CODY RHODES!!! Rhodes clearly had an issue with Orton slapping the taste out of his father earlier tonight and is laying rights and lefts on top of Orton, who is trying to cover up. Orton does the only thing he can do to retreat and rolls out of the ring. Orton tries to escape and stumbles over the barricade through the crowd but Cody follows after him. Meanwhile, back to the ring and Lashley is currently stunned on all fours. Booker yells out to Queen Sharmell to throw him his scepter so he can finish Lashley off. After struggling to find it for a few seconds, Sharmell throws the scepter into the ring...but she overthrows it and as Booker is tracking the scepter to catch it, he runs right into a SPEAR! by Lashley. The crowd goes nuts and Lashley lets out a roar but before he is able to capitalize and cover Booker, Mr. Kennedy comes from behind Lashley and throws him over the top rope before stealing the cover and the victory. (14:49)

WINNER (by Pinfall) - Mr. Kennedy

Mr. Kennedy's music hits as he will now go on to face John Cena for the WWE Championship at The Great American Bash. JR and King recap the main event as replays show all of the action and then it cuts back to the ring. As Kennedy catches his breath and gets to his feet, he calls for a mic. Kennedy signals to cut his music and then tells the crowd that he told them all earlier tonight that he would right the wrongs. Kennedy says "whether you like it or not, in a couple of weeks at The Great American Bash...your new WWE Champion will be...MISTERRRRRRRRRRRR KENNEDY!!!!"

(OOC: I figured I'd mix it up a little and go with Kennedy. Lashley was so hot at this point that putting him against Cena right away was probably premature. I did copy a couple of the segments I liked, although I modified Orton slapping Dusty a little as I let "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan go in my save and he was the one who was backstage. Thanks to anyone who takes the time to read this!

ECW kicks off the broadcast with a video package of last week's Main Event where CM Punk defeated Elijah Burke in a Two out of Three Falls Match to become the #1 Contender for the ECW Championship. After the new ECW opening, set to "You Wouldn't Know" by HELLYEAH, Joey Styles and Tazz welcome us into the show and explain that tonight both champion and challenger will be in action. In what is called "Pick Your Poison," CM Punk will pick Johnny Nitro's opponent, and Nitro will pick Punk's.

Johnny Nitro vs Tommy Dreamer - "Pick Your Poison"

The ECW Champion was up first as Punk selected the "Heart and Soul of ECW" Tommy Dreamer to be Nitro's opponent. After feeling each other out with a test of strength, Dreamer got the upper-hand with a hip toss. Nitro retreated into the corner and got some chops for his trouble. After giving Nitro a stun gun off the turnbuckle with, Dreamer put Nitro in the "Tree of Woe." Dreamer did his signature E! C! W! taunt as he went for the corner dropkick, but in an amazing feat of core strength, Nitro pulled himself up at the last minute to dodge the attack. Dreamer ended up kicking the turnbuckle and tweaking his knee. Nitro, like a shark smelling blood, started to work on the right leg. Nitro put Dreamer's leg on the second rope and jumped on it using the ropes to spring him high in the air. Nitro worked on the leg for a couple more minutes before Dreamer fought back. Dreamer got to his feet and planted Nitro with a sidewalk slam. Dreamer was feeling the crowd and signaled the end but as he charged at Nitro, Nitro ducked and Dreamer turned around right into a springboard roundhouse kick by Nitro. Nitro picked Dreamer up and hit his corkscrew neckbreaker dubbed "The Moonlight Drive" for the victory. (9:04)

Back from the break and it's time for another episode of Striker's Classroom, featuring your teacher, Matt Striker. Striker is still upset about his birthday being ruined a couple of weeks ago as he points to the titantron to show the video of "Rowdy" Roddy Piper smashing his birthday cake in his face. Striker then turns his attention to The Boogeyman, who after spit worms in his face. Striker said he is calling out The Boogeyman to "educate" him. Boogeyman gyrates his way down to the ring with a bag of worms in his hand. Striker tells him to please put them away and then writes the word "Parasite" on his chalkboard. Striker tells "Boogey" to stop eating worms because it could lead to diseases. The Boogeyman has heard enough and starts to stalk Striker, who is now doing circles around his desk to avoid contact. Striker tells The Boogeyman that he was trying to help but that he's tired of being messed with so this ends now. Unfamiliar music then hits and the man known as Viscera walks through the entrance set. Viscera is sporting a new intimidating look, with his massive upper-body uncovered sans suspenders. Viscera gets in the ring and the two big men stare at each other. Striker announces Viscera as "Big Daddy V" and then cheap shots Boogeyman with his back turned as he stared at the big man. Boogeyman turns around and grabs Striker by the throat but Big Daddy V clubs Boogeyman in the back of the head. Big Daddy V then picks up Boogeyman and slams him on Striker's desk, which doesn't budge much. Big Daddy V then throws Boogeyman head first through the chalkboard. Striker celebrates as Big Daddy V throws up a "V" hand signal.

Back from commercial break and Joey Styles and Tazz inform us of big news that a new General Manager has been assigned and that the new GM will kick off the show next week. Tazz says he can't contain his excitement to see who will lead the "Land of Extreme."

MAIN EVENT - Match #2
CM Punk vs Mike Knox - "Pick Your Poison"

CM Punk squared off with Mike Knox in the Main Event as Johnny Nitro picked the big man as Punk's opponent. Knox gained control early in the match by hitting Punk with a big boot as Punk came off the ropes. Knox then clubbed Punk in the back of the head a couple of times before applying a chinlock. Punk, feeding off the crowd, started making a comeback and worked out of the hold by hitting a couple of elbows to the midsection of Knox before sending him off the ropes and hitting a leg lariat. Knox rolled out of the ring to recuperate, but Punk offered no respite and hit a suicide drive to him on the outside. After throwing Knox back in the ring, Punk went for his signature springboard clothesline, but Knox pulled referee Scott Armstrong in the line of fire, knocking him out. Knox knocked Punk down with his own clothesline and then went outside to grab a steel chair. Knox got back in the ring and went to swing the chair at Punk, but Punk ducked and Knox ended up hitting the turnbuckle. Knox dropped the chair for a moment to shake his hand. When he picked the chair back up and turned around, Punk nailed his running corner knee strike into the chair, which went straight into Knox's face. Punk discarded the chair and then hit the big man with the GTS as the ref came to and made the three count. (10:31)

Friday Night Smackdown!

After the opening video, Smackdown! from Dallas, Texas kicks off with the "The Animal" Batista. Batista is in a foul mood since he can not challenge for the World Heavyweight Championship as long as Edge is holding it, after losing at Vengeance. Batista talks about how Edge is a coward and that he hopes whoever faces him next beats the living hell out of him and takes the title so that "The Animal can get back on top of the food chain." Batista then says his plans for The Great American Bash are now open and he is issuing an open challenge to anyone who wants to fight. The music of The Great Khali hits and "The Punjabi Nightmare" walks out with his interpreter, Ranjin Singh. Singh says The Great Khali is already at the top of the food chain and that there is no way he can be knocked off. Singh says Khali accepts Batista's challenge and Khali begins lumbering to the ring. Batista watches as Khali steps over the top rope and then he roars with his hands up right in Batista's face. Despite the unusual position of being smaller than someone, Batista gets in Khali's face and roars. It appears it's about to go down but Ranjin Singh tells Khali not now, and Khali slowly backs off, waving in disgust at Batista.

Chris Masters vs Hardcore Holly

"The Masterpiece" Chris Masters versus Hardcore Holly was the opening bout on Smackdown! Both men are recently new draft picks to the blue brand and would get into a hard-hitting contest. Masters got Holly in the corner to start and smacked him when the ref called for the break, only for Holly to return the favor. Masters then took over, hitting a spinebuster and then slowing the action down with a side headlock. Holly shot Masters off the ropes and after ducking his clothesline, hit Masters with a picture-perfect dropkick. Holly then would hit his famous rope-hung kick to the midsection. Holly got Masters in position for the Alabama Slam, but Masters slid off and rolled to the outside. Masters took his time as the ref began to count, but Holly got fed up and chased after him. Masters would get back in the ring and when Holly got back in, he swung a right. Masters ducked and applied the Master Lock and when Holly couldn't answer the refs count, as his hand flopped, Masters won by submission. (6:54)

General Manager Theodore Long's office, who is chatting with his fiancée, Kristal Marshall, and his assistant GM, Vickie Guerrero. Edge asks "you wanted to see me?" and Teddy nods. Teddy asks Edge if he has a guest planned for tonight's Cutting Edge and Edge laughs and says that he can carry the show all by himself. Teddy tells Edge that he has a special guest for his show and Edge starts a guessing game. Teddy turns Edge's smile into worry when he says the special guest will be his opponent in a match for the World Heavyweight Championship at The Great American Bash.

Chavo Guerrero vs Jimmy Wang Yang

Cruiserweight action was next on Smackdown! as the Cruiserweight Champion, Chavo Guerrero faced off against Jimmy Wang Yang, in a non-title match. Chavo went for Three Amigos early in the match but on the way up for the third suplex, Jimmy kneed Chavo in the face. Jimmy built some steam, hitting a jumping spinning leg lariat, and a diving crossbody off the top, that got a two-count. Jimmy went for his cutter (a standing sitout shiranui) but Chavo threw him off and then kicked him in the kneecap. The dirty move put Jimmy on one knee and Chavo spiked him with a DDT. Chavo went up to the top and hit a Frog Splash to win the contest. (5:59)

Post-match Chavo grabs his belt and asks for the ref to raise his hand. With Jimmy still by his feet, Chavo starts stomping on him until Shannon Moore comes out to make the save and run Chavo out.

Deuce & Domino (w/Cherry) vs The Major Brothers

In another non-title contest, the WWE Tag Team Champions, Deuce & Domino, took on the Major Brothers (Brian & Brett). The champs controlled the majority of the matchup but Brett made a comeback on Deuce and it looked as if the brothers could pull off an upset. Despite a hot tag to Brian, Cherry would get on the apron, distracting Brian, who pointed at the ref to tell her to get down. Behind the refs back, Domino pulled Brett off the apron, causing him to hit his head on the mat, and threw him back first into the ringside barriers. In the ring, Deuce took control of Brian and got him down with a snapmare. Domino got in the ring and hit a big boot to the face of a seated Brian. The double-team finisher, dubbed "Crack 'em in da mouth" was enough to get the win. (5:05)

The camera would then cut backstage to the newly drafted diva, Torrie Wilson. Wilson was in the middle of a SummerSlam photoshoot for WWE Magazine. As the beautiful Torrie moved into different poses, Victoria crashed the set and smacked the hat right off of the director. Torrie asked what the problem was and left her post to confront Victoria, and Victoria said that "we both just got drafted here but of course they pick you to do the shoot." Victoria then says how Torrie was always stealing the spotlight from her when they were on RAW, and that it's her time to shine. Torrie doesn't let it bother her but says that Victoria has been acting crazy lately. Once Victoria heard that barb, she picked up Torrie and speared her through the photoshoot equipment, wailing on her until staff and road agents pulled her off.

Chuck Palumbo vs Kenny Dykstra

In the next contest, a repackaged Chuck Palumbo, with a new hard rock theme, rides down to the ring on his motorcycle. Dykstra made his entrance and touched Palumbo's bike causing Palumbo to flip out and chase after him. Dykstra lured Palumbo back into the ring and hit him with a few stomps as the bell rang to start the match. Dykstra showed his high potential with a backbreaker/neckbreaker combo, and then the two men traded blows back and forth. After hitting a scoop slam, Dykstra went to the top rope but missed his signature guillotine leg drop. Palumbo was able to capitalize and hit Dykstra with what he calls "Full Throttle," (a swinging side slam) for the victory. (5:22)

A vignette plays for the re-debut of Michelle McCool. In this one, she is shown playing beach volleyball. Don't get it wrong, even though it's only beach volleyball, McCool always has her game face on. The video shows McCool laying out to keep a volley alive and then spiking a ball for the game point. McCool says she can't wait to face the competition.

"The Nature Boy" Ric Flair runs into Batista backstage and the two old Evolution mates caught up. Flair was recently drafted to Smackdown! but Batista was so caught up in winning the World title, that Flair did not want to bother him. Batista says he always has "time for Naitch." As he says that MVP walks into the shot with the United States Championship on his shoulder. MVP laughs and says that "Batista doesn't have time for you (Flair) anymore because your time is coming to an end old man." MVP says he proved at Vengeance that Flair should just hang up the boots. Batista gets in MVP's face and challenges him to a match next week. After hesitating, Flair goads MVP into the match by calling him "the MVP of having no stones." MVP angrily accepts and we will have Batista vs MVP, next week on Smackdown!

MAIN EVENT - Match #5
Finlay vs Matt Hardy

The Smackdown! Main Event included the first appearance for Matt Hardy in a while. Matt was teaming with his brother, Jeff, for most of the year on RAW, holding the World Tag Team titles for a couple of months. Hardy would renew an old rivalry and take on "The Belfast Brawler," Finlay. The two began with a standard lock-up but it soon turned into a strike fest, with both men exchanging chops and right hands. Finlay got the upper-hand after raking Hardy's eye and nailed a nasty European Uppercut to floor Hardy. Finlay would then ground Hardy with a couple of rest holds, including an arm stretch where Finlay pulled both arms back of a seated Hardy as he kneeled into his lumbar region. Feeding off the crowd, Hardy made it to his feet and reversed the hold right into a Northern Lights Suplex. After a near fall, Hardy signaled for the Twist of Fate, but Hornswoggle would come out of nowhere and run into the ring. The distraction allowed Finlay to find his shillelagh and clock Hardy in the head. With the ref getting Hornswoggle out of the ring, he missed the illegal shot and counted the pinfall. (11:14)

The Cutting Edge talk show would close out the night for Smackdown! Edge starts off by gloating about beating Batista to retain his World Heavyweight Championship and the fact that he can't challenge again. Edge says Batista may never be a World Champion again because "I plan on keeping this belt for a veryyyyy long time." Edge then shows a small highlight video of his multiple victories over Batista, including the most recent one where Batista got counted out. Edge commentated over the video, making fun of Batista saying "he just lives up to the stereotype of the big man that has rocks for brains."

As Edge is cracking himself up, Smackdown! GM Teddy Long's music hits and he comes out to the stage. Long said he had to cut off Edge or else he'd ramble on all night. Edge is anxious in anticipation as Long says the next challenger for the World Heavyweight Champion is...

*Fire Pyro Goes Off*

"Slow Chemical" plays and it's KANE!!! Kane walks down to the ring and Edge looks nervous. Kane has been gone for a month or so but is the next challenger for the main prize on Smackdown!

Kane gets in the ring and Edge accepts the fact that he has to face "The Big Red Machine." Edge arrogantly says that its okay because he will make quick work of "The Big Red Bastard," just like he did to his brother, The Undertaker. Kane grabs a mic and says that all he hears every week is Edge yapping his mouth. Kane says he doesn't like Edge and that he's going to shut his mouth for good while he takes the gold on his shoulder.

Kane throws his mic and gets in Edge's face. Edge, with a mic still in hand, cheap shots Kane with the top of the mic to the head. Kane stumbles back and Edge runs at him to hit a Spear...but Kane stops Edge in his tracks by grabbing him by the throat. Kane nails Edge with a thunderous Chokeslam! Kane throws the stools out of the ring and hits his in-ring pyro as Smackdown! ends.

Monday Night RAW

New Orleans, Louisiana

Monday Night RAW is live from New Orleans, LA this week. The RAW opening plays and the pyros go off as JR and King welcome us in. With "To Be Loved" still echoing through the arena, the commentators lose their train of thought as Randy Orton is walking down towards ringside without his music even playing. Orton walks over to the timekeeper's table and grabs a mic and gets in the ring.

Orton yells "CODY RHODES....get your ass down here!" Orton says he will wait all night if he has to, and that he was on the verge of becoming the #1 Contender before Cody stuck his nose where it didn't belong. Orton also said that this kid will have the shortest career of all-time because he is about to end it.

Cody Rhodes now starts walking down the ramp but his father, Dusty is pleading with him to let it go. Dusty sighs and puts his hands up as Cody gets into the ring but he takes down Orton! Rhodes with some rights and left like last week but then Orton gets on top and hits some shots.

Down come some road agents and referees to break up the fight. Dusty Rhodes gets in the ring as well as holds his son back. Cody escapes the pile and jumps on top of the bodies holding back Orton to get a couple more shots in but in doing so Dusty was pushed over and was down on the mat.

After restoring order, Orton realized Dusty was trying to get back up to his feet and feigned that he would leave in peace, which made the group holding him back let off.

Orton punted Dusty in the head! Dusty Rhodes is unconscious and Cody has to be brought to the canvas to prevent him from attacking Orton. Orton smirks as the road agents force him up the aisle and Cody is in the ring on the verge of tears kneeling at the head of his father.

Back from break and a replay of what just happened plays as JR and King are disgusted with the actions of Orton. The mood is somber in the arena as Dusty is shown getting loaded onto a stretcher, in a neck brace, while Cody is nervously pacing with his hands on his head.

Cade & Murdoch vs London & Kendrick

The opening contest of Monday Night RAW featured a mix in styles as the high-flying, high-energy team of Paul London and Brian Kendrick squared off against the rough and tough World Tag Team Champions, Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch. London and Kendrick showcased their excellent athletic ability during the match, hitting a couple of nice combination moves. Murdoch would eventually slow the pace down, getting Kendrick in a rest hold. Minutes into the match, Cryme Tyme walked down to ringside. Cade and Murdoch focused on the duo and complained to the ref but the ref ignored their request to send them to the back. JTG then had the brilliant idea to steal Cade's cowboy hat. Cade didn't realize right away as he was jawing with Shad, but then did as JTG was walking back up the ramp, putting the hat on in laughter. Cade got visibly irritated and dropped off the apron to walk over. JTG then sold the hat to a fan in the crowd for $20 and Cade stormed over. While Cade was arguing with the fan to give him his hat back, Brian Kendrick hit Sliced Bread #2 on a distracted Murdoch and got the win as Cade was too late to break up the fall. (8:04)

Todd Grisham is backstage with WWE Champion, John Cena. Grisham asks Cena about his thoughts on Mr. Kennedy becoming the #1 Contender for his WWE Championship. Cena says that Kennedy is a talented superstar and that he has the potential to be one of the best...but his biggest problem is his attitude. Cena says "all Kennedy does is blame others for his shortcomings and that's because he knows he can't beat me for this title...so he's gotta find an excuse." Cena says he looks forward to giving Kennedy an excuse when they face off at the Great American Bash.

Umaga w/Armando Alejandro Estrada vs Val Venis

The new Intercontinental Champion, Umaga, was in action next against Val Venis. Replays of last weeks title change, where Umaga destroyed Santino Marella, were shown and JR and King talked about how scary and dominate Umaga is. As for the match, the crafty vet Val Venis got a couple shots of offense in but Umaga turned it around, countering a charging Venis with a Samoan Drop. Once Umaga hit that the momentum shifted and it was all she wrote. Umaga picked up a stunned Venis and nailed him with a Samoan Spike for the victory. (2:23)

Mickie James vs Melina

The third match of the night had Mickie James face off against Melina. Melina is trying to regain her form after losing the Women's Championship, and then losing her rematch last Monday night. Melina starts off the match on the attack and grounded Mickie with a snapmare and then a kick to the back of the head. Melina then hit a backbreaker on Mickie and turned it into a submission, torqueing Mickie's neck across her knee. Mickie fed off the crowd and got out of the submission. When she got to her feet, she knocked down Melina with a couple of flying forearms, followed by a Fisherman's Suplex that got a two-count. After Melina regained control, the ending came when she attempted to hit her "Sunset Split" leg drop. Mickie got out of the attempt and hit Melina with a kick to the side of the head. Mickie waited for Melina to get to her feet and hit her jumping DDT for the victory. (7:31)

Mickie celebrates, high-fiving fans going up the ramp as Melina starts to throw another tantrum. Melina kicks the steel steps and then shoves the top part of the stairs to the ground. Melina has her hands in her hair as she walks up the ramp.

JR and King give us an update on the condition of "The American Dream," Dusty Rhodes. Rhodes is currently in the hospital in stable condition, and early reports are that he suffered a major concussion after Randy Orton punted him in the head. The replay of the incident plays again, and JR says he doesn't even wanna see it.

"Turn Up The Trouble" hits and Mr. Kennedy enters the ring. He has a scheduled match but first Kennedy does his intro, announcing himself as "future WWE Champion." Kennedy says he heard what John Cena said and that what he said could not be anymore further from the truth. Mr. Kennedy says he's gonna take care of business tonight and next Sunday at the Great American Bash, Cena will regret the words that came out of his mouth.

Mr. Kennedy vs Super Crazy

After Mr. Kennedy was finished speaking, Super Crazy came out to take on the #1 Contender. Mr. Kennedy was surprised a couple of times in the beginning of the match by Crazy's quickness. Crazy even hit a spinning wheel kick to knock Kennedy to the mat. Crazy went high-risk and lined up to hit a standing Kennedy with a moonsault, but Kennedy booted Crazy right in the face as he rotated. Mr. Kennedy would then hit the "Mic Check" to win the match. (4:24)

The camera cuts to the RAW General Manager Jonathan Coachman's office and Carlito has barged in. Carlito complains to Coach about Sandman whacking him in the head with a kendo stick last week. Carlito says that Sandman should be suspended for his actions. Coach chuckles and says that seems excessive. Sandman then walks into the picture, holding his kendo stick. Carlito asks what the hell Sandman is doing in here and to get that thing away from him. Sandman says "first off it's called a Singapore Cane." Carlito says he doesn't give a damn what it's called and that he would love to take that stick and jam it down his throat. Coach then chimes in and says he has an idea. At The Great American Bash, it will be Carlito vs Sandman...in a Singapore Cane on a Pole Match! Carlito is flabbergasted and pleads with Coach as Sandman laughs and walks off.

Bobby Lashley vs King Booker w/Queen Sharmell

The Monday Night RAW Main Event is here as both men, who lost in the Fatal Four Way #1 Contender Match last week face off. The match starts off with Lashley challenging Booker to lock up and Booker is resistant. After locking up, Lashley pushes down Booker, and Booker looks up from the mat in embarrassment and rolls to the outside. Booker is talking with Queen Sharmell but Lashley doesn't want to wait and goes out after him. Lashley runs around the corner, but Booker gets behind Sharmell and Lashley stops. Sharmell is yelling in Lashley's face but the distraction allows Booker to hit a right hand. Booker then throws Lashley into the steel ring post, head first. Booker tries to get a count-out victory but Lashley gets in on 7. Booker immediately stomps away on Lashley before he can get up. Booker then applies a chinlock and grounds Lashley for a minute or so. Lashley starts to make his comeback but then Booker whips him down head first and gets a sleeper hold on this time. Lashley makes another comeback and this time it is successful. Lashley hits a back suplex and then two straight running shoulder blocks. Lashley hits a spinebuster and signals for the spear. Queen Sharmell gets on the apron though and distracts the ref and Lashley. Lashley looks back at Sharmell and then goes to hit the spear but Booker has his scepter and cracks Lashley in the head! Booker throws it out of the ring and the ref turns around to count the pinfall. Booker beats Lashley by cheating. (12:56)

WINNER (by Pinfall) - King Booker

King Booker and Queen Sharmell celebrate the victory by with Booker raising his right pinky finger and Queen Sharmell yelling "ALL HAIL KING BOOKER" multiple times as the screen fades to black.

Smackdown was on fire in 2007 and Edge was madly entertainment as the heel king of the blue brand you'd love to see get beaten. As for RAW, I like that you'll book Mr. Kennedy as Mr. MITB and I seriously hope he doesn't get injured this time

I like the OCC part and I also like the way you push Kennedy yet when in reality he lost the briefcase few weeks before, I hope for a good feud between him and Cena and maybe a big win for Kennedy. I also hope you give the lights to the women's division 'cause James, Melina, McCool or Victoria deserve a better treatment of the one WWE gave them at the time. Why don't you draft the SD women to RAW where is the Women's Title Belt?
