1893/94 Division 2 - Week 6
Accrington 2 - 1 Notts County
It's a third straight with for Accrington as they put away a struggling Notts County side who found themselves unable to hold on to their early lead after scoring in the 14th minute. Goals in the 37th and 64th minutes would see Accrington walk away with the points.
Woolwich Arsenal 3 - 0 Rotherham Town
Rotherham Town's winless run continues as the club have yet to win in the first 6 games this season getting soundly put away by a far better Arsenal side at Manor Ground.
Grimsby Town 3 - 1 Burslem Port Vale
With neither side having won a game this season, this was an important match for getting both side's seasons started. Port Vale would score first in the 19th minute and hold on through to the second half. With 20 minutes left however Grimsby would score an equalise and from there it all collapsed with goals in the 79th and 89th minutes handing the win to Grimsby.
Burnley 0 - 2 Walsall Town Swifts
It's another win for the Swifts as they hold firm at the top of the table, still yet to lose a single match this season. Burnley meanwhile have been stuck around the midtable with just a single win so far.
Crewe Alexandra 1 - 2 Liverpool
The other undefeated side in the league, Liverpool pick up their 5th win for the season, beating Crewe at Alexandra Recreation Ground to remain in 2nd place on goal difference
Newton Heath 2 - 0 Northwich Victoria
It's been a solid start to the season for Newton Heath who have lost just one match so far, while Northwich are stuck in the lower half, but as it stands do look set to be able to maintain their presence in the Football League. This wasn't a good game for the away side however as it was clear they were the worse side in this match.
Loughborough Athletic 1 - 1 Newcastle United
Both of these sides have had solid starts to the season and look to potentially be in contention for gaining the 3rd play-off spot. Loughborough would score early in the 8th minute, but Newcastle would equalise before half-time and level it with neither side getting the points they'd have liked.
Burton Swifts 1 - 2 Ardwick
Burton Swifts currently find themselves in the re-election places and following this results nothing changed. Ardwick would take the lead in the first half, although Burton would be able to equalise in the 71st minute. This wouldn't last long however as Ardwick would quickly score their second to take the win.
