What is Millenniumverse? Howdy there - I’ll try to keep this explanation as short and clear as I can, but in any case, bear with me! So, I recently discovered other wrestling forums (beside BeTheBooker) and I fell in love with a project I found on ProWrestlingOnly - The 1983 Project (I’ll take the chance to excuse myself right now because I don’t know if it’s forbidden to talk about other forums and their activities, but I wanted to use a solid example to make myself clear).
The project consisted in a shared universe where users would book their respective companies, thus creating an alive and active world. I would like to take that beautiful idea and rehearse it, and, if possible, to make it even better (without sounding vain, because the work of those guys it’s cool as hell!). So here’s a draft of how I imagined the Millenniumverse to be:
A shared universe among players, who pick a promotion to run (it can be a major or an indie, as you wish!) There will be interactions between the promotions, therefore there could be partnerships or rivalries Although you will start with the chosen company stats, roster, titles and calendar, you may modify those aspects as you wish I would like for the game to have a financial aspect, at least when it comes to acquiring workers, so that it won’t be possible to sign a lot of wrestlers in a few days, for example Regarding D, I would like to add a contract system for workers, thus making possible to sign a worker that has a Pay Per Appearance (PPA) contract with another company, and making impossible to sign a worker that has a Written contract instead Regarding F, there will be the possibility to make loan to another company, and that would affect the relationship with said company; or, it will be possible to sign another company worker to a Written contract, but that would hurt the relationship with said company I would like to have Year-End Awards, voted by both players and readers of the diary
Those are the aspects I have in mind, for now. Feel free to leave any suggestion, any advice will be gladly received! What more can I say? This is just a project, and I hope it can interest some of you, because at the end of the day, it’s just a way to share a passion that unites us. The main goal, of course, would be to have fun together.
Why 1999? Because I find this period very interesting: it’s the beginning of the end for WCW and ECW, the indie scene is about to boom, in Japan Mitsuharu Misawa is about to lead a exodus that not only will help create NOAH, but it will also mark the downfall for All Japan. Inoki is on the verge of retirement, and NJPW is about to enter a dark era. In Mexico, CMLL, AAA and IWRG fight for supremacy. MMA is skyrocketing in popularity, and in Japan pro-wrestling is colliding with the former, thanks to experiments like Pancrase and so on. And, cherry on top, the world is about to enter the 2000s!
If you weren’t watching (or weren’t born, like myself) during this era, don’t worry! It won’t be a quiz, I think it’s funny to play and discover eras that we didn’t live in first person.
I hope that I didn’t bore you, brave reader! As I said, I’m open to any suggestion, and I hope to gather some interest in the project.
Thanks for reading!

I think this concept has huge potential, especially on a forum as active as this one.
If things ever kick-off, I'd love to participate and help in any way I could.

I recently joined a similar project in a 2003 timeline, but it was a bit different and I was very limited to the choice of the wrestlers which led to by loss of morale and with the workload I was coping at the moment it made me leave, but the concept is actually pretty neat. I would recommend a TEW2020 scenario or even EWR scenario to keep track of open wrestlers and contracts and to have search tools to add to the concept.

I don't have neither TEW nor EWR, but I think we can do something here - or maybe there can be another player who can keep track of the world, if he/she has one of those two games.

I could do that with EWR since it's a freeware so everyone can have access, and most likely everyone is familiar with it. You can also find it in the EWR Downloads section in this board. But a spreadsheet should suffice as well with Google Docs being a thing this days. Since the scenarios are somewhat limited and don't fit all the wrestlers from that era for an example EWR 1999 scenario has a total of 535 workers. Nowhere near the list you might need for a game.

That's true. I think also websites like Cagematch and others could come in handy for things like this.

You would still need a big amount of research. And that raises another question, for an example someone running WWF or WCW is completely different from running a indy fed, how can one balance that? Anyway, it's just a pair of random thoughts and I support your project 100%, hope to see it coming to live soon.

No problem It's a difficult project to manage, I understand that, and you also helped me, bringing some obstacles that I didn't think of in the first place!
