WWF RAW Spotlight Segment
The Big Boss Man leads his subordinate, Rico Constantino, down to the ring and gets a microphone. He takes in the (mild) jeers he receives, saying that while Orton’s kid had it coming, but he has more important things on his mind now.
“There’s been this little dog running around named Tommy Dreamer, acting like some big shot just ‘cause he has the Hardcore title. He’s fighting and fighting and fighting, but he ain’t fought me yet. I should have been the first one, I practically put that Hardcore title on the map! There ain’t nobody more hardcore than the Big Boss Man, and tonight, I’m gonna show it!”
Tommy’s music brings him down to the ring, and he gets the microphone as well.
“Boss Man, I’ll give you one thing: you’ve done a lot of hardcore things. You were one of the first Hardcore champions in the WWF. But that’s just the thing; you were a WWF Hardcore champion. But me? I was a champion of hardcore! You can’t hold a candle to the things I’ve done, because while you might be hardcore… I’m gonna take you to the extreme!”

Show Notes
- Getting better at their gimmicks: Scott Hall, Tommy Dreamer, and RVD.
- Kevin Nash: “D-Von is like looking into a charisma black hole, you should write him off.”
- Rob Van Dam: “Dude, Jeff Hardy is gonna be a star. He’s worth pushing hard.
”
WWF SmackDown! Spotlight Segment
Mild-mannered reporter Gregory Helms is backstage in the locker room, and he brings in the Tough Enough winner, Maven. Helms asks Maven what he’s thought of being in the WWF so far, to which Maven replies that a lot of the superstars have been great, taking him under their wing, such as The Rock.
“However, then there’s people like William Regal. I didn’t have any problems with Mr. Regal, I actually used to have a lot of respect for him and his wrestling skills. But that respect has gone after how he’s been acting. And that’s why I can’t wait for this Sunday, when I can team with The Rock and take Regal down!”
Helms starts turning the conversation toward Christopher Nowinski, who Maven says is “maybe more pompous than Regal, he definitely belongs kissing Mr. McMahon’s hind end,” but Nowinski suddenly appears and starts beating on Maven! He throws him head-first into a nearby locker, stomping on him. Gregory freaks out, looking like he wants to help, but instead rushes away, saying he’s going to find a phone booth to get help! But with Nowinski standing over a groaning Maven, Christopher decides that he’s finished here and leaves the scene after flipping a nearby catering table on top of him.

WCW Friday Nitro Spotlight Segment
Raven smiles (which looks unnatural) as he surveys what he caused: Vampiro losing to the young hot prospect, Low Ki. As Vampiro starts to regain consciousness following the kick to the head that Ki defeated him with, Raven gets a microphone to address his opponent next Sunday.
“Vampiro? Can you hear me? Or are the bells tolling too loudly for your mind to comprehend? Perhaps this is a first for you? As you have shown yourself to be only a follower in your life thus far. Granted, you do seem to take good direction, but at Halloween Havoc, I will tear down all the direction you have worked toward over the past months. You can preach someone else’s redemption all you want, like a deranged carnival barker shouting at children to check out the bearded lady, but you don’t understand how to actually save their soul. Only Raven can save; and once I have made it past my former Flock members, you will have no one following you and only a shadow leading you. I will cast light upon these shadows, and reveal what skeletons you keep in the dark. You are the one who shall feel the fear… when I lead you to the Raven Effect.”

Show Notes
- Steve Blackman was annoying people backstage with his boasting and cocky attitude, until The Rock told him to shut his mouth and pay for everyone’s drinks after the show. Blackman improved his behavior.
- Getting better at gimmicks: Spike Dudley (he appeared in the pre-show), Kevin Nash, Test, and Gregory Helms
- Eddie Guerrero was given a slap on the wrist when he tested positive for steroids. His personality grows worse every time this happens (third time now) but we all know how Mr. McMahon likes his boys.
- The Rock: “That Nunzio kid has some fire, he could be a very good worker.”
- Kevin Nash: “What is the deal with that Helms kid? He’s never gonna connect with the fans, just write the midget off now.”

Show Notes
- There was not enough selling shown during both the Scott Steiner/Big Vito and Goldberg/Big Bill matches. Goldberg vs. Bill also fell apart due to a lack of ring psychology.
- Lash LeRoux has come back to WCW by distracting Big Bill during his match, bringing a new Underdog (Wholesome) gimmick. It has gotten an initial rating of Average.
- Both Vampiro and Ric Flair required being kept strong during their matches and protected in loss so they didn’t get upset at not winning.
- The main event was penalized for it’s Sports Entertainment Finish, where Bam Bam Bigelow, Simon Diamond, and Chuck Palumbo all became involved. The eight man tag match set up for next week will be Ric Flair, Sting, Booker T, and Chuck Palumbo vs. Shane Douglas, Scott Steiner, Bam Bam Bigelow, and Simon Diamond.
- Sting’s gimmick is getting stale.
- Yang being used too much was because he took part in a long pre-show match as well as a backstage segment during the show.
- Dustin Rhodes: “AJ Styles is turning into a good worker, he’s gonna be worth getting behind.”
- Bryan Clark: “Low Ki can’t connect with fans, he doesn’t seem to have much potential.”
- Booker T: “That AJ Styles kid is looking good, you should push him.”
Show Notes

- Christopher Nowinski and Kevin Nash are getting better at their gimmicks.
