Lot of good stuff going on here, but Vito using a stickball bat is a great touch.

Guys. I was really excited. I really was. I finally made it to 2002. But at this point, I haven't even opened TEW since before Christmas. I have so many cool ideas for this dynasty, but man is it getting tough to open the game and play it. I'm not saying that this is going away completely yet, because I feel like especially WCW is just getting really interesting. But... TEW. I don't know. I had these shows already booked, so here they are. I am also about to post some shows in 1992 over in Real World Reports, but it is suffering the same way right now.
January Week 1, 2002: January 3, 2002- Eddie Guerrero’s gimmick has been tweaked slightly, which should hopefully freshen him up a bit.
- Sable returns to the WWF, working as a Bitch. However she flubbed the segment completely, leaving fans to think of her as Below Average.
- Getting better at gimmick: Val Venis, Nunzio
- Faarooq’s name has been changed to just Ron Simmons, and his gimmick from Bad Ass to Bad Ass (Brute). It’s a subtle difference. He is Very Good at it, as he should be.
- Getting better at gimmick: Nunzio
The 2002 Royal Rumble will take place on January 20, 2002, from the Philips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia!
The Royal Rumble Match Undisputed WWF Championship: “The Show Stopper” Shawn Michaels vs. “The People’s Champion” The Rock WWF European Championship: Wiliam Regal vs. Al Snow
The Week That Was - It turns out that WCW billing Starrcade as “Ric Flair in a retirement match” was not just them putting his name on the line, his contract actually ran out at Starrcade. Plans currently say he may be replacing Shane McMahon as the new head for Raw. Speaking of Shane McMahon, the news broke from the WWF that he is no longer affiliated with the company before his surprise appearance took the wrestling world by shock at the end of Starrcade.
- WCW have a whole new list of broadcasters for their events after all of their previous deals expired. They have joined up with GlobeCast WorldTV, WOWOW PPV (Japan), Main Event (Australia), Cablevision PPV Mexico, and Telewest (British Isles). The rumors say that they could have gotten a larger broadcaster for the US, but the idea was to go with GlobeCast because they also have coverage all over Canada, and regaining the lost popularity in Canada seems to be a priority for the new year. This will move WCW events onto all pay-per-view providers, instead of the split they had previously between PPV and Subscription based channels. Add to this the new deals for Nitro on USA Network, 5INCUENTAYDO2, and Challenge TV, and the return of WCW Worldwide, and it looks like the war between the WWF and WCW may start back up soon!
- The WWF were seen as petty as they deliberately tried to bury WCW on Heat via Michael Cole throughout the show. Internet fans voiced displeasure at this, feeling the WWF should pay attention to their own product now that Nitro has a chance to close the gap again.
- Brian Christopher a.k.a. Grand Masta Sexay is no longer in the WWF, which some have speculated that he was allowed to leave as an agreement for Jerry Lawler returning in November. Also, Ron Waterman, Christian York, Joey Matthews, Shawn Hernandez, and Steve Bradley had their developmental contracts expire. Rumor is that at least one of them was an oversight and that this person will be offered to return as soon as possible.
- Joining Ric Flair on their way out of WCW are Bryan Clark, Nick Patrick, Air Paris, and Caprice Coleman. Bobby Heenan is also back out of the company, but his deal was only intended to be a few short appearances for the America’s Most Wanted angle.
- Chris Candido was on a local radio show, and he pointed out that he gets nervous the more he gets pushed.
- A lot of industry veterans are looking to Samoa Joe as a big star in the next few years.
- Veterans like Davey Boy Smith and King Kong Bundy are said to be getting frustrated, having not worked for more than small indy shows for over a year now. One must wonder if these names we all know so well still have a place in wrestling in the new millennium.
- Word has it that Extreme Canadian Championship Wrestling is unlikely to make it another month, as their debts are piling up and is just too deep a hole to crawl out of.
- Ray Lloyd, the former Glacier, took part in a local radio interview. He let it slip that he dislikes debuting in a new promotion, as nerves always make him underperform.
- Jaguar Yokota had an interview recently where he stated that when she returns from her maternity leave, she would be open to wrestling in the USA or Canada as well as Japan.
- WCW have picked up two new referees, as Scott Dickinson has rejoined WCW to make up for losing Nick Patrick, and Jamie Tucker has been officially promoted to the main roster after spending last year working for NWA: Wildside and appearing sporadically on Nitro and PPV events. To replace Tucker for Wildside, WCW have gotten a new referee on a developmental contract, Andrew Thomas.
- While former partner Danny Doring has shown up on WWF SmackDown!, it looks as though time may be almost up for Amish Roadkill. While he was hired with promises of the land of dreams and honey, he was not re-signed to keep his development contract with HWA, and so it is back to the farm for him.
- WWF Ratings: SmackDown! (20.00); Heat (0.98)
- WCW Ratings: Nitro (7.77); Worldwide (0.92)

Just caught up on the last couple of shows. Good stuff as usual. It's a shame TEW has been such a slog for you (I totally get it) though I guess it's fitting that you, uh, *ahem*, Hate the Game...
