Good call with taking away the "specialty match" PPV, I've always thought that was dumb even when WCW did it with Fall Brawl and War Games. Stipulation matches need to have a build, not just a "It's that time of year again!" feel. Yeah, I agree big time on this. I mean I get it - the Royal Rumble & Survivor Series are gimmick PPVs, but I don't know why you'd want to only book TLC matches in December, Chambers in February (although this one isn't all too bad), HIACs in October. Just another reason why I don't really follow modern WWE.
So let's head back to 2012...
WWE - Week 4, September 2012
Lots of notes on this one: Seth Rollins makes his official Raw debut, and Punk thinks he'll be a star; Mason Ryan wants to be booked better; Johnny Ace thinks Jimmy Uso doesn't have "it"; Abraham Washington has been cut; and Alex Riley has officially departed for TNA.
Yes, this was our best Smackdown so far. And yes, I am a big dummy for forgetting to screenshot it.
For Notes: Ryback says in an interview that the bigger the push, the more nervous he gets; Christian too doesn't think Jimmy Uso gets "it"; Christian is also now toned; our new TV deals start next month - Smackdown is headed to MTV!

Great SmackDown! I find it kinda funny that JBL in charge of SD seems to be turning it into 2005 Raw with the B&P match and bringing in Jericho, while Raw is moving into more of the "modern" workrate show.

Great SmackDown! I find it kinda funny that JBL in charge of SD seems to be turning it into 2005 Raw with the B&P match and bringing in Jericho, while Raw is moving into more of the "modern" workrate show. Interesting! 2005 Raw is close, but I think with Smackdown I'm aiming to merge both brands from 2002 together. I've got a loose Smackdown Six forming (Jericho, Bryan, Cody, Christian, Orton, Sheamus) and JBL playing the Easy E role as a money-hungry, power hungry egomaniac. I had a long-running multiplayer save with Blodyxe a while back, and I booked Smackdown. So, I'm changing things here and there, but aiming to keep the mood the same.
RAW is still very much a work in progress. If it feels like modern WWE, then it's probably modern WWE. I guess right now I'm just aiming to take it a little more seriously than WWE did in 2012 (More McIntyre and Kofi, less Santino and Brodus)
WWE - Week 1, October 2012
Notes: Seth Rollins was used too much, but one-night hire Rick Steiner was happy to do the job. New Mexico TV Provider Televisa wasn't happy with this show's quality, so I might need to move time slots if this keeps up. CMLL now has a hostile relationship with us.
Notes: Disappointing main event, but SD makes a solid debut on MTV. Ohno and Trent? show great chemistry on the pre-show. Yoshi Tatsu wants a better push.

WWE - Week 2, October 2012
Notes: Brodus and Ryder show no chemistry on the pre-show; Miz & Truth show excellent chemistry in the main event; CM Punk again thinks Seth Rollins is going to be a star
Notes: Otunga invents a new catchphrase; Jericho thinks Epico will be a star; Televisa isn't happy with the show grade; I again forget to screenshot the show after booking it.

WWE - Week 3, October 2012
Notes: Kofi & Miz developed a strong friendship after some meddling; Dolph Ziggler developed a new power spot in the 6 man; Both Punk & Kane like when Santino's on the microphone.
Notes: Huge news week for Smackdown - Natalya beat up Eve before the show, Nattie was fined. Tyson Kidd & Beth Phoenix were pleased, but Eve found it to be too soft and Nattie was angry at the fine. Nattie was also given a one week break for this; Titus O'Neil got into an argument with Brooklyn Brawler before the show and wanted to fight him, but didn't pull the trigger. Titus receives a stern warning, negatively impacting his character; Layla and Maryse develop a strong friendship after meddling; Alicia Fox and Maryse have pretty good chemistry; Daniel Bryan has turned face, went pretty well; Orton doesn't think Hunico connects with the fans; Time slot for Televisa deal is changed due to this Smackdown not meeting their requirements, Camacho receives blame for his poor performance in the main event.

3H - While I don't really see him taking the title, he at least picks up the win. Did anyone text Nash? Sheamus - Jericho losing never matters anymore, he's a made man already. Christian Drew McIntyre - Not quite time for Seth yet. Swaggler Kharma John Cena Randy Orton Rey & Kofi ADR

WWE No Mercy 2012
On the Pre-show, Ziggler (96) & Swagger (92) carry JTG (60) and Shad (66) to a decent match. I started watching wrestling around the time that Cryme Tyme debuted, but even my soft spot for them can't give them the win. AAP run through another team, and I've got a radical idea for rest of the year for the tag division.
In the opener, Christian (90) retains the IC championship against Cody (92) in a very good match. I gave them 20 minutes for this one - long for the opener - but felt like they deserved it considering how good their angles have been leading up to the match. Christian continues on as Smackdown's fighting babyface champion, and Cody's got a bigger program coming from him. Drew McIntyre (79) defeats Seth Rollins (59) to keep his US gold. Story of the match is that Drew is forced to Seth seriously after one too many near falls. Seth is still a long ways away from holding singles gold, but I'm cooking up a big idea for him in the background. Randy Orton (99) ducks a Bullhammer from Wade Barrett (88) and hits an RKO to win this short but a little disappointing contest. They showed pretty good chemistry, but I kept it at under 10 minutes. Bet the rematch would make a good main event for Smackdown. In a match that I couldn't decide who to put over, Kofi (82), with help from Rey Mysterio (91), gets a slight measure of revenge against Miz (100) and R-Truth (91). Awesome Truth's Awesome chemistry helps them shine in this contest, and we'll continue to run the Kofi vs. Truth storyline on Raw. Babyface Daniel Bryan (97) taps out the scoundrel Alberto Del Rio (95) in another short match. Can you guess who built up his best card yet, then forgot to change the time to 3 hours? (this guy). The pair show pretty good chemistry - sounds like another Smackdown main event for the rematch! Kharma (77) gets her most serious threat yet in Gail Kim (72), but still can retain the gold. They don't show any chemistry, but I enjoyed their feud in TNA, and may come back to this match later. In the meantime, expect both girls to be in a Survivor Series match next month.
John Cena (100) gets the pinfall over the monster Kane (83) at the closest PPV we have to Halloween for now. Kane is floating for a bit, honestly. I think I did a decent job changing history by having AJ pick him as her boytoy, but I don't know if Raw has enough babyfaces right now to pull it off. As for Cena, big feud incoming for Survivor Series.
Chris Jericho (94) beats Sheamus (96) to win the World Heavyweight Championship! I felt like I've done all I can do with Sheamus as champ for now. I don't think it makes sense to shove Cody in the spot as Number One Contender (especially since he just lost his rematch for the IC), and I didn't want to run with ADR or Wade, so new champ Chris Jericho. Not sure how long Chris will hold it for, but I can know for sure that it's in safe hands in the meantime.
CM Punk (98) gets his win back against HHH (92) to retain the WWE Championship. I was hoping to keep the face/heel dynamic unclear here - Is there smoke to the fire, and is HHH right? Or is Punk right, and HHH manipulated his position to get a title shot? Either way, Punk wins here clean after HHH is kept strong. His frustration boils over when he lays out the ref, but I wouldn't think of it as a heel turn right now - kinda like when he randomly gave Londrick pedigrees on Raw that one time. A reference surely everyone will get.
Overall, this show went pretty well! I do think that I stretched it out and gave everyone more time it would have showed in the match grades. But, alas, what's done is done - and we're on to Survivor Series! Who will survive?
Beejus - 22 (+7) Asaemon - 16 (+5) Big Boss Man - 10 (+4)
Mike Haggar - 6
Thanks for the predictions folks! One more show to go - then it's prize time.
I've been experimenting with the converter and building this weird Frankenstein save in TEW over the past week, so I'll need to catch up a bit before posting the next round of shows. Luckily, I have a vague arc pre-booked, so I should be able to hop right in.
