Announcers: Tony Schiavone, Jerry 'The King' Lawler & Arn Anderson
-----------------------------------------------
Tony Schiavone on commentary says it's Wednesday night folks and you know what that means! It's WCW Nitro, LIVE from IOWA
Jerry Lawler excitedly says that's right Tony, we're here in The Hawkeye State on the Journey to Starrcade and we've got a big show for you tonight!
Tony Schiavone says that's right folks we've got 2 more Shane's Money in the Bank Qualifying matches tonight with Shawn Stasiak taking on Billy Kidman in our opening match tonight and 'The Natural' Dustin Rhodes will face off against an old enemy in Buff Bagwell later in the show
Arn Anderson says we'll also have Chyna in the biggest match of her WCW career to date, as if she can beat Meiko Satomura in #1 Contenders match later tonight she will go on to face the WCW World Women's Champion, Akira Hokuto, for her title at Starrcade
Jerry Lawler says that Ric Flair will also be in action tonight, plus I myself will get some well deserved revenge on that bastard The Sandman!
Tony Schiavone says but to open tonight's show there's one man who's not happy at all with what occurred at the start of Friday Night Panic! to our broadcast colleague Stevie Ray and that's the #1 Contender to the WCW World Heavyweight Championship, Booker T!
----
Booker T promo
Booker T comes out to a big pop looking all business
Booker T gets in the mic and says "Cut my music! Cut my music!"
Booker T says he's sorry to the people of Iowa for them to have to witness him like this, that's not what they paid to see, but Booker says what Scott Hall did last Friday Night was a liberty!
Booker T says he signed a no physicality clause in his contract with Scott Hall for their match at Starrcade in good faith... he knows what Scott Hall is trying to do... he's trying to get me so hot I break that clause and make sure that match becomes a non-title one... well if I can't beat your ass, then those damn Harris Twins, why don't you get your asses out here right now!
Scott Hall comes out smiling with the WCW World Heavyweight Championship and cockily strolls to the ring. He gets in the ring and gets a microphone.
Scott Hall says "Hey yo, Iowa, hey yo Book!"
Booker T looks real mad
Scott Hall says "Booker, I don't know why you're so keen to beat up the Harris Twins... you think that will get to me? They're not my friends, Book. They're just mercenaries who wanted some money... it was just business for them, Book!"
Booker T says "When they entered MY business they made it personal!"
Scott Hall laughs and says "Look Book, the person responsible for all this is me... I'm happy to be held accountable... so why don't you get your revenge... here... I'll let you have a free shot at me... give me your best shot..."
Scott Hall stands in-front of Booker signalling for him to hit him and break the physicality clause.
Booker T looks real tempted
We see Shane McMahon at the top of the entrance ramp
Shane McMahon says he understands why Booker wants to hit him... but he can't let Booker mess up their big money match at Starrcade.
Booker T starts shouting in protest but then Shane McMahon tells him to be quiet
Shane McMahon says that Scott Hall hasn't honoured the spirit of the contract... so he's going to arrange a match for tonight's main event... Shane McMahon says the main-event tonight will see Scott Hall & The Harris Twins take on Booker T and 2 partners of his choosing... and the physicality clause does not stipulate physicality can't happen in officially scheduled WCW matches... so as long as Booker T and Scott Hall are the legal men in that match... there CAN be physicality!"
Scott Hall looks furious and terrified at the same time
Now it is Booker T who is all smiles as the segment goes off air into the commercial break

Kidman / Stasiak Promo
As we come back from commercial break before our next Shane's Money in the Bank Qualifying match we see short pre-recorded promos from both Kidman and Stasiak
Shawn Stasiak says he is the future of WCW... he has some respect for Kidman, but with all due respect Kidman has barely graduated from being a Cruiserweight... he's not ready to hang with the likes of Shawn Stasiak. Stasiak says he will book his spot for the Money in the Bank match and then be one step closer to his destiny of being WCW World Heavyweight Champion one day!
Billy Kidman with Torrie Wilson by his side says since he won the WCW Cruiserweight Classic Tournament he feels like there's been so much positive momentum. Tonight, he wants to continue that by beating Shawn Stasiak and putting himself in the Money in the Bank match. Kidman says he's worked hard to prove himself and that he should be in the big money, high-profile matches and tonight he makes his mark!
Freestyle segment with Shawn Stasiak & Billy Kidman - (58 rated)

Match 1:
Shane's Money in the Bank Ladder Match - Qualifier 3 of 6: Billy Kidman (with Torrie Wilson) vs Shawn Stasiak (with Mark Jindrak)
Billy Kidman comes out first with Torrie Wilson by his side. He looks up for the match although evidently seems a bit nervous. The fans seem to be fairly behind him.
Stasiak comes out next to a decent amount of boos from the local crowd. Stasiak flips one fan off as Mark Jindrak follows him out laughing at Stasiak's disregard for the fans approval.
This match goes just over 5 minutes and has the fans excited at the start of the show. Kidman out-performers Stasiak in the match but Stasiak still has a decent showing.
The end of the match comes when Stasiak has Kidman set up for a Meat Grinder but Kidman manages to reverse out of it and hit a Hurracanrana to Stasiak into the corner. Kidman then hits a massive drop-kick to Stasiak which causes Stasiak to clatter into Mark Jindrak who has stood on the apron to try and disrupt things. Jindrak hits the floor in a heap.
Billy Kidman then hits a Fireman's Carry Neckbreaker leaving Stasiak motionless in the ring. Kidman goes up and hits a Shooting Star Press on the grounded Stasiak before the referee counts 1-2-3-!

Team Canada promo
When we come back from commercial break we see the WCW World Tag Team Champions, Lance Storm & Mike Awesome, with Carl Ouellet waving a Canadian flag in the background.
In the ring we also see a Trash Can and then a stand with a Canadian flag themed blanket covering something up
Lance Storm has a stern expression and a microphone
Lance says "If I can be serious for one moment... as Friday Night Panic! went off air we told you fine folks that we had a HUGE announcement about the future of the WCW Tag Team division... well last Friday Night after the #1 Contender match between Expressly American and O'Haire & Palumbo went to a No-Contest... it is clear that there is no team in WCW... or in-fact, anywhere in America, that can go toe to toe with Team Canada!"
Mike Awesome grabs the mic and says "THE FACT IS YOU CAN'T LIVE WITH THE PERFECT STORM, LANCE STORM, OR THE FAT-CHICK THRILLER, THE CAREER KILLER, MIKE AWESOME! LOTS OF TEAMS HAVE TRIED TO BEAT US... BUT THEY ALL FAILED!!"
Lance Storm then says "And so given there is no Tag-Team in WCW, in America or even in the rest of the World... we have had to make a drastic decision as we were left with no other choice. Carl... take out the trash!"
Carl Ouellet then takes the WCW World Tag Team Championship belts from Lance Storm and Mike Awesome and he unceremoniously dumps them in the trash as the fans boo.
Tony Schiavone, Jerry Lawler and Arn Anderson sell it on commentary like someone has died, they can't believe it.
Lance Storm then tells Carl Ouellet to make the reveal... he pulls off the Canadian flag from the stand and we see two new WCW Tag Team titles
Lance Storm then says "I officially present to you... the WCW Canadian Tag Team Championship belts... and given that we have proven that nobody is worthy of challenging us for these belts at Starrcade... it would seem we will be your WCW Canadian Tag Team Champions for quite some time
Barry Windham & Mike Rotunda came out
Windham on the mic says if Team Canada thinks that Expressly American is going to stand for this abomination then they've got another thing coming!
Sean O'Haire and Chuck Palumbo then come out and O'Haire on the mic says that they too have been wronged. Those title belts that they've just put in the trash represent the future of this company... they can't just throw the belts in the trash and they can't just attack us and stop us from challenging at Starrcade
Eric Bischoff then gets wheeled out by Ricky 'The Dragon' Steamboat in a wheelchair. Bischoff looks furious.
Eric Bischoff says what Team Canada did on Friday Night Panic! was unacceptable and what they did to those belts was an abomination... Bischoff says he has an idea... Bischoff asks Lance Storm if he truly believes that Team Canada and Canadians generally are superior to Americans
Lance Storm proudly says yes
Bischoff then says well here's what we're going to do... later tonight... it will be Team Canada, the 3 of you including your boy Carl there... and if you're so superior you will not just 1 of these 2 teams... but BOTH of them in a 4 on 3 handicap match!
Team Canada look furious
Bischoff then says and here's the deal... if Expressly American & O'Haire & Palumbo can successfully put their differences aside, work as a team and get the win tonight... then at Starrcade 2001... Team Canada will put those WCW Canadian Tag Team titles on the line... not just against 1 American team... but BOTH of you!
Team Canada are raging in the ring as Expressly American and O'Haire & Palumbo eye the other team up with a bit of a grin on their faces knowing the odds will be heavily in their favour.

Ric Flair promo
When we come back from commercial break we hear Ric Flair's entrance theme hits and he makes his way down to the ring to a huge pop from the fans
Ric Flair then grabs a mic where he says that this Friday Night on Panic! will see the first of 3 Steve Corino Open Challenge matches where he puts that brat through the ringer with 3 legends of WCW
Flair says to warm up for his match at Starrcade with whoever is the WCW FXtreme Television Champion, Corino or otherwise, he's also looking to get rid of that ring-rust by wrestling some legends of this business.
Flair says that starts tonight where he's throwing it back to 12 June, 1991, Clash of the Champions... that's right... his opponent right now is Bobby Eaton!

Bobby Eaton vs Ric Flair
Bobby Eaton comes out to a decent pop from the fans
Eaton gets in the ring and stares off with 'The Nature Boy' over 10 years after that big match at Clash of Champions. This match isn't for a title but just for pride!
The match goes just under 5 minutes with both guys using their psychology and experience to give the fans a good match.
Flair seems in fine form towards the end of the match and the older, more tired Bobby Eaton can't seem to keep up with him.
Flair eventually manages to get him into a Figure Four Leglock and he makes his old rival tap out

JJ Dillon with Billy Kidman
We see JJ Dillon standing by backstage with Billy Kidman after his big win earlier in the night
JJ Dillon asks Kidman what it feels like to have won such a big match
Kidman says lately it feels like all the dues he paid, all the training, all the effort, it's finally paying off. In Shane's WCW he feels like he's got the opportunity to reach his potential and he feels like the sky is the limit for him now!
Suddenly, we see Buff Bagwell and Buff Daddy V come into set
Bagwell says it's typical WCW that Kidman is getting a pre-scheduled interview whilst Bagwell has a big match later tonight and he's not got any TV time to promote himself ahead of it
JJ Dillon starts making a response, but Kidman defends WCW instead
Kidman says maybe if Bagwell didn't have such a bad attitude and wasn't such a damn politicker backstage then he'd get treated better.
Bagwell is furious at this
Buff says Kidman thinks he's some kind of tough guy insulting one of the pillars of WCW. Bagwell says Kidman had a good run in the Cruiserweight Division, but this is the big leagues now where the big boys play. Buff Daddy V stands towering over Kidman.
Buff Bagwell says if Kidman thinks he can win Shane's Money in the Bank then he's got another thing coming... Bagwell says he will right the wrongs of his past tonight by getting one over on Dustin Rhodes, then at Starrcade... anyone who gets in my way is getting stepped on! Kidman, you're on notice!
Kidman stands up to Bagwell, but especially with Buff Daddy V backing him up Torrie advises Kidman to leave it for now

The Underworld promo
We come back to the ring and we see 'The Queen of the Underworld' Dawn-Macaria, with The Hounds of Hades (Djinni Parisi & Saemon Daemon) and 'The Fallen Angel' Christopher Daniels
Dawn-Macaria says 'The Fallen Angel' is one step closer to achieving his destiny of becoming the WCW World Cruiserweight Champion
Dawn-Macaria says she is disappointed that the human gremlin Eric Bischoff has not seen it fit to create a path for The Hounds of Hades to challenge for the Tag Team Championship... but when there is a will there is a way... Dawn-Macaria says they are issuing a challenge right now to any tag-team on the roster who wants to step up.
Any tag-team who feel they have been over-looked and under-appreciated in WCW... step up and challenge The Hounds of Hades!
The fans pop a bit as we see Little Guido and Tony Mamaluke come out, with Johnny Stamboli behind them
Little Guido has a mic. Little Guido says "Since we got to WCW we ain't had the same success we had in ECW... we ain't had the same respect that we got in ECW... but that's okay... it's like my Momma always said... Guido, it's a marathon not a sprint! And God knows she's right... so you boys want a challenge? You got it! We'll wipe the smile right off your faces!"

Booker T trying to find tag-team partners
We see Booker T in the locker-room area speaking to DDP
Booker T says he's looking for tag-team partners tonight and he knows there's nobody more motivated to get one over on Scott Hall than DDP!
DDP looks miserable and dejected. DDP says it's nothing personal Booker, but I don't think I'm the right guy for this job... I lost to Hall at House of Cards... I lost to Dreamer last week... I'm on a bad run, Book... I don't know if I still got what it takes to be in main-event matches... I'm not in the right head-space, man
Booker T says you're DDP! You're a 3 time WCW World Heavyweight Champion... what you talkin' about, Page? So you lost 1 match? 2 matches? It ain't about how you get knocked down but how you get back up, Dog!
DDP says all the same Book, my back ain't doing too good... I don't think I'm the right guy tonight... it's not you... it's me
DDP walks off and Booker looks kind of annoyed and disappointed.
Curt Hennig then appears in shot
Booker T says Curt is just the guy he was looking for! Booker says he wanted it to be DDP & Curt Hennig taking on Scott Hall and The Harris Twins in the main-event
Hennig shakes his hand and says of course he'll be there! Booker T says DDP didn't have the guts for it... Stevie ain't even cleared to be on commentary Friday so he's a no go... we need a 3rd man, Curt! I would've got Dustin but he's in a match and between you and me he tried to gouge my eyes at House of Cards! I don't know if I can trust that cat anyway!
Curt Hennig says don't worry Book! I got just the man... just the guy to settle a score with Scott Hall...
'Dr Death' Steve Williams comes into shot saying Hey Book!
Booker T says Hell yeah, Steve, that's just what the Dr ordered!

We come back from that segment and Tony Schiavone and Arn Anderson confirm Jerry Lawler is off commentary as this match will actually feature him!
Jerry Lawler's theme hits and we see him come down to the WCW ring in his in-ring attire to a good pop from the fans
The Sandman's theme hits and we see him come out through the crowd
The Sandman has his trademark Singapore Cane and he's drinking a beer on the way to the ring
The Sandman leaves his Cane at ringside but carries the beer into the ring seeming like he's going to finish it
The referee has a go at him and makes him see it off. The Sandman sees it off but then spits the beer into Lawler's face!
Lawler is disgusted and then as the match begins The Sandman lays into him
This match is more of a brawl than anything else with Lawler getting in some hits but it is mainly The Sandman who gets in on the offence.
The end of the match comes when The Sandman hits Lawler with a Russian Legsweep and then gets the pin.
The Sandman wins via pinfall - (52 rated)
---
Post-Match Chaos
After the match The Sandman leaves the ring but he collects his Singapore Cane and then heads back into the ring.
Lawler is being helped to his feet and then The Sandman rushes over and starts raining down shots on him.
We see Shane McMahon and a lot of security and road agents pile out of the back to intervene and get The Sandman out of the ring
The Sandman in the chaos somehow grabs a mic
The Sandman says "DO I HAVE YOUR ATTENTION NOW, SHANE? I know that you ain't gonna put me in the qualifiers for your Money in the Bank match at Starrcade... I'm sure as hell you ain't wanting me anywhere near your big show... but here's the facts, Shane O'Mac… ever since WCW come back on air... most of the biggest PPV events of 2001 have seen The Sandman involved in some capacity... that's just a fact... well whether you like it or not... the fans know that I'm the Most Dangerous Man in WCW... so I think the smart money, if you were a real business man like your father... would be to put The Sandman in a match... no, a fight... at Starrcade... I'll take on anyone you want Shane... no point it being you now I've choked you out twice... but I'm willing to take on anybody... and I mean ANYBODY who you can get to fight me on your behalf! I'll be waiting..."

Match 5:
Team Canada (Lance Storm, Mike Awesome and Carl Ouellet) vs Expressly American (Barry Windham & Mike Rotunda) & Sean O'Haire & Chuck Palumbo (with Stacy Keibler) - 4 on 3 Handicap Match, if Team Canada lose then both Expressly American & O'Haire & Palumbo will challenge them for the WCW Canadian Tag Team Championship at Starrcade 2001

Tony Schiavone speculates about what happens if Team Canada wins tonight. Do we have no title match at Starrcade? Arn Anderson speculates that they may find a Canadian tag-team to defend against instead.
Windham and Rotunda come out first looking hyped up for the match
They awkwardly wait at the entrance ramp for their allies and partners in the match tonight
Sean O'Haire and Chuck Palumbo come out next with Stacy Keibler by their side
They awkwardly nod to Windham and Rotunda, there is still heat there between the teams but it seems tonight they're willing to let bygones be bygones as they need to work together to book their ticket to Starrcade!
This match goes just under 10 minutes. Carl Ouellet appears to injure his ribs early on in the match and so Storm and Awesome do most of the heavy lifting in already unfortunate 4-3 handicap situation.
Storm and Awesome both shine in the match though. They put in very good performances and there are a few close calls where it looks like Team Canada might even win, but the numbers game in the end is just too much.
Barry Windham and Sean O'Haire struggle to get along and at one point almost come to blows over a tag made but Rotunda and Palumbo manage to convince their partners to hold it together.
The end of the match comes when O'Haire and Palumbo both knock Awesome and Storm off the apron.
Rotunda hits a Stock Market Crash to Ouellet before Windham nails him with an Elbow Drop from the top rope to get the win.
Expressly American & O'Haire & Palumbo win via pinfall - (9.42) - (59 rated)
As the match ends we see the referee hold up the hands of both teams. Once they realise they have won some hostilities between them seem to return but Stacy Keibler gets them to both cool down, as we see a beaten Lance Storm and Mike Awesome looking real annoyed at ringside.

Hugh Morrus is angry and starts talking over Vampiro. Morrus says Chavo and Disco cost him not just a shot at the WCW United States Championship but also a spot in the House of Cards Match. Shane Helms got his spot but that should have been his! Hugh Morrus says you boys have derailed my career so now we're gonna derail yours!
lYnCh then comes into shot. She says how about this Friday Night on Panic! we have ourselves some mixed-tag Trios action. Vampiro, me and Morrus will take on you two boys and whatever woman you can find...
Vampiro then says that's the beauty of our proposal to you boys. Chavo and Disco, for all the talk of how much the ladies love you, I've not seen either of you talk to a woman since I've been back her in WCW... so good luck finding anyone to team with you.

Jarrett calls on Funk
Terry Funk stands at the top of the entrance ramp looking real mad
Jeff Jarrett says to Terry Funk this is a one time offer. If you reject this then I will sue you and the Funk family out of existence!

Anderson mentions that Satomura is 5 ft 2 and 150 pounds, with Chyna having an 8 inch height advantage and weighs 50 pounds more. Anderson mentions how Satomura is still heavier than a lot of the women that Chyna will have wrestled in WCW and Meiko is no slouch. She's an experienced young woman who will have faced women of Chyna's size in Japan, she knows how you can beat someone like Chyna so we can't write her off here tonight
The match goes just over 5 minutes with both women putting in a pretty good performance. The announcers mention how it's possibly the best TV Women's match they've seen since Shane took over the company and brought back Women's Wrestling to WCW
The end of the match comes when Meiko Satomura hits a Spinning Kick to Chyna before putting her in a Facelock which she has locked in real tight. The fans, announcers and Hokuto/Mitchell are on their seat as it looks like Satomura might tap out Chyna, but Chyna just manages to grab the rope for a rope break.

JJ Dillon then says Super Crazy, on Friday Night you'll face off with The Hurricane and mORe-bId! with just 2 of you able to book a spot in the Final 6 in a few weeks time. Do you think you've got what it takes to win that one?

Shane's Money in the Bank Ladder Match - Qualifier 4 of 6: Buff Bagwell (with Buff Daddy V) vs 'The Natural' Dustin Rhodes (with Dusty Rhodes)
Buff Bagwell comes out with Buff Daddy V and he's all smiles ahead of the match tonight
Tony Schiavone hypes up the match as he says there are big stakes here in a match where both men have a lot of history with each other
We see Dustin come out looking very focused
Schiavone mentions how these two had a feud a few months ago that all came to a conclusion at Mayhem in August when Dustin Rhodes beat Buff Bagwell in an Ambulance match, let's hope there's no ambulances needed after this one, Arn!
This match goes just over 6 minutes and is a high pace, high intensity match. For all of Bagwell's critics he actually puts in a really good performance in this match and is about on par with Dustin Rhodes which you couldn't have said at all during their rivalry 4 months ago in August.
Dustin is desperate to win but it seems Buff Bagwell is just as desperate to get into that Money in the Bank match and get his own back on Dustin
Dusty Rhodes and Buff Daddy V clash a bit at ringside but nothing too intense
The end of the match comes when Dustin Rhodes seems to go for a Canadian Destroyer but Bagwell manages to counter it into a sitting pinning predicament which Rhodes narrowly kicks out at 2 from.
